XRP serves three live functions: cross-currency payment settlement, collateral at Ripple Prime, and streaming payments for AI software agents via Stripe's Machine Payments Protocol.

Agent payments remain in beta with zero live commercial volume, while payments and collateral already handle real institutional capital.

XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) serves three key functions. It facilitates payment settlements between currencies, acts as collateral for positions at prime brokers, and more recently, it covers expenses for software agents. The latter function was introduced through a standard co-authored by Stripe and Tempo, using XRP in a way Ripple's own dollar stablecoin has yet to achieve.

An equal $100,000 split across SGOV, JAAA, and CLOZ generates roughly $465 monthly at a blended 5.6% yield, no dividend stocks required.
CLOZ's 7.35% trailing yield on BBB-B rated CLO tranches drives $204 of the monthly income but carries the portfolio's highest credit risk.
Floating-rate CLO coupons in JAAA and CLOZ keep effective duration near zero, shielding principal from long-term rate swings while outpaying Treasury bills.

Income investors do not have to own dividend stocks to generate a meaningful monthly check. An equal $100,000 split across the iShares 0-3 Month Treasury Bond ETF (NYSEARCA:SGOV), Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF (NYSEARCA: JAAA), and Eldridge BBB-B CLO ETF (NYSEARCA:CLOZ) currently produces roughly $465 a month based on trailing distribution yields. The portfolio gets there without owning a single dividend stock and with very little traditional interest-rate exposure. Instead, SGOV owns Treasury bills, while JAAA and CLOZ invest in floating-rate collateralized loan obligations. That combination gives income investors three different steps up the risk ladder without requiring a move into equities.

JERUSALEM, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that a new documentary film which alleges that mass civilian deaths were routinely built into targeting decisions in Gaza was part of a wave of global incitement against Jews.
"NAZA", directed by Israeli journalists Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday and received a 25-minute standing ovation when it was screened on Thursday.
The film takes its **** le from an Israeli military term for expected "collateral casualties" and is built around anonymous interviews with intelligence officers and soldiers involved in the war.
"It's shocking. We are fighting global antisemitic incitement and when it comes from within us it is intolerable," Netanyahu said in a video posted on Telegram. "And now two Israeli directors portraying the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) as war criminals receive applause at the Venice festival."
Netanyahu's comments followed a statement from the Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir, who said the film constituted an attack on the state of Israel.

Healthy Tanner Houck Hopes to Be a Difference Maker for Red Sox in Playoffs originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Tanner Houck started his career with plenty of hype, acting as someone who can do anything if given the opportunity. Coming off an injury that kept him out of action throughout he 2026 season, he hopes the Red Sox could use him come playoff time.
The 24th overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft, Houck was picked up as a starting pitcher. A chameleon, he adapted to any situation, acting as a starter, reliever, and closer. In 2022, he appeared in 32 games and was as durable as one could be.
Houck has shown flashes of brilliance but hasn't found consistency. This year, he has been rehabbing after undergoing a special surgery of his ulnar collateral ligament. It's a "hybrid reconstruction" with a flexor tendon repair.
That was last August. This year, the Red Sox, with high expectations, struggled at first. Now, they are playoff contenders, and Houck wouldn't mind adding to the fun. That includes rejoining the team before the season ended.

Trading near $45 a share, Boston Scientific (BSX) sits roughly 58% below its 52-week peak. Instead of buying the dip outright, selling cash-secured put options allows investors to generate immediate income while locking in an even deeper entry point. However, this trade only works if you are comfortable holding the stock through a turnaround, particularly as both of the company's core growth drivers—WATCHMAN and electrophysiology—face sudden operational headwinds.
Sell a put option on BSX expiring 9/17/2027, with a strike price of $30.
Collect roughly $135 in premium per contract (each contract covers 100 shares).
That works out to about 4.4% annualized on the $3,000 of cash you set aside to secure the trade.
Park that collateral in Treasury bills or a Treasury money-market fund yielding roughly 3.9%, boosting your total cash-secured return to about 8.3%.

Under IRC Section 77, farmers can elect to report CCC loan proceeds as Schedule F income, triggering Social Security earnings even without selling a crop.
In 2026, net farm profit above $24,480 costs pre-retirement-age farmers $1 in Social Security benefits for every $2 earned over the limit.
The Section 77 election binds future years too, so farmers should compare tax outcomes and review their earnings history before committing.

Personal loans are dangerously easy to get. You can have cash in your account the same day you apply — no collateral, minimal friction, maximum temptation. And that's exactly the problem. Just because you can borrow doesn't mean you should. The difference between a smart financial move and a debt spiral often comes down to one thing: understanding why you're borrowing in the first place.
Personal loans aren't inherently good or bad. They're a tool. And like any tool, they can either solve your problem or make it worse. Below, we break down the situations where borrowing actually makes sense and the ones where walking away is the smarter play.
Personal loans hover around 12% APR for borrowers with solid credit. Credit cards? Try 20%. If you're juggling multiple cards with balances, rolling that debt into a single personal loan can save you serious money on interest. Plus, you get one predictable payment instead of the payment shuffle.
But the catch is that you actually have to stop using your credit cards. Too many people consolidate their debt, feel relieved and then rack up new balances within a year. Now they've got two problems instead of one. So, before you borrow, compare rates, map out your payoff timeline and be honest about your spending habits. If you know you'll just max out those cards again, a personal loan won't save you. It'll only bury you deeper.
Your credit utilization ratio — basically, how much of your available credit you're actually using — accounts for 30% of your FICO credit score. Since personal loans are installment debt, they don't count toward that ratio the way credit cards do.

Peter Thiel is a billionaire investor who co-founded PayPal and Palantir. He was the first outside investor in Facebook, and he runs Founders Fund, the venture firm that put the first institutional money into ******* eX.
Thiel Macro LLC, the fund run by the PayPal and Palantir co-founder, recently filed its second-quarter 13F. The filing shows the fund bought 308,617 shares of American Electric Power Company, Inc. (NASDAQ:AEP) and 839,319 shares of FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE:FE) in the second quarter. The AEP stake was worth $42.22 million at the end of the quarter, and the FirstEnergy stake was worth $39.90 million.
In this article, we will focus on AEP.
For decades, American Electric Power was just a major utility company providing electricity to American households, with no prospects of explosive growth. But the AI boom changed everything. Training and running large models need enormous amounts of round-the-clock electricity, and hyperscalers are racing to build data centers wherever they can get power. Demand is now coming to AEP faster than it can serve it. Why? Because it runs a major transmission network in the US across 11 states. The company now has 69 gigawatts of contracted load additions through 2030, up 6 gigawatts in the second quarter alone. Around 90% of that is data centers. Texas customers alone have put up nearly $2 billion in cash and collateral. If a customer walks away, termination fees and minimum demand clauses protect the shareholder.
AEP locks customers in with letters of agreement, electric service agreements and large-load tariffs that require minimum demand after ramp, plus collateral and termination fees.

Andvari ******* ociates, an investment management firm, released its first-quarter 2025 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. Andvari's portfolio has performed strongly in the quarter, highlighted by Constellation Software's 19.9% revenue growth and its plans to spend on acquisitions in 2026. The company is also focusing on AI tools to enhance productivity and customer relationships. However, the AI sector is experiencing extreme hype, leading to a growing disconnect between valuations and future cash flows. Predictions suggest the AI investment phase may decline in 1-3 years, despite current high demand for AI infrastructure, which is expected to attract significant competition. Concerns about overbuilding and risky financial behaviors, like Oracle's downgraded credit rating amid a $90-$95 billion AI cloud investment, reflect potential pitfalls. Andvari has minimized exposure to this sector, aiming to protect and grow ******* ets through disciplined investments in stable industries despite recent underperformance during the AI boom. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Andvari ******* ociates highlighted NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA). NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is a leading data center-scale AI infrastructure company operating through Compute & Networking and Graphics segments. On August 28, 2026, NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock closed at $217.55 per share. The one-month return of NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) was 5.28%, and its shares gained 24.90% over the past 52 weeks. NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) has a market capitalization of $5.25 trillion.
Andvari ******* ociates stated the following regarding NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Another reason why I am increasingly cautious here is I've begun to see more examples of circular financing among the companies involved with the AI investment boom. For example, when NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) invested in OpenAI in late 2025, it was reported most of the money would be used to lease Nvidia chips. Also, some companies like Nvidia and Anthropic have invested directly into special purpose vehicles (SPVs), which in turn use that money to buy hardware from those exact same hardware makers. Then there are AI companies like Anthropic who have begun to use massive SPVs, backed by private equity firms, to borrow billions to buy chips and servers. The AI company then leases the chips from the SPV and thus the debt can stay on its own balance sheet. I've also read that some Nvidia customers are using Nvidia chips as collateral for loans to buy even more chips. This is the same type of behavior that eventually got many telecom and tech companies into huge trouble during the dot com bubble of the 1990s."

San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish is considering retirement, according to Padres general manager Craig Stammen.
Darvish is working his way back from ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) surgery he had in late 2025. He had Tommy John surgery in 2015.
Darvish last pitched in October 2025 during a wild-card playoff game against the Chicago Cubs. He has missed the entire 2026 season.
"He's been doing the normal Tommy John rehab — some of it at Petco, some of it not at Petco," Stammen said when talking on 97.3 The Fan earlier this week. "We see him here and there. He's on his own timeline. He still doesn't know if he really wants to come back, wants to retire, what his next role is within the organization. We're kind of letting him have his ***** e and do his thing, and right now he's throwing bullpens."

Trump's "economic D-Day" against Iran is built around one of Washington's most powerful weapons: access to the U.S. financial system. The problem is that the deeper Washington pushes into Iran's remaining trade, the bigger the targets become.
China buys more than 80% of Iran's seaborne crude. Iraq relies on Iranian gas for as much as 40% of its electricity generation. Turkey imported 4.5 bcm of Iranian gas in the first half of this year, while India still maintains a heavily one-sided trade relationship with Tehran. The UAE, once one of Iran's most important commercial and financial conduits, has already suspended dealings with Tehran.
The U.S. Treasury can sanction tankers, traders and small Chinese refiners without creating much collateral damage outside the Iranian trade. Going after the major banks financing that commerce is different, however. The same is true of forcing Baghdad to choose between complying with Washington and keeping Iranian gas flowing to Iraqi power stations.
The Trump administration took a cautious approach on Monday. Its first round targeted nearly 60 individuals, companies and vessels and expanded sanctions across shipping, aviation, technology, gold and digital ***** ets, but left China's major banks untouched.
That leaves the most powerful part of Trump's threat still hanging over Iran's trading partners. If the first round fails to cut Iranian commerce sufficiently, Washington can move from sanctioning the networks built to evade U.S. restrictions to targeting the banks and companies that still have substantial business to lose in the United States.

Guinness Global Innovators, an investment management company, recently released its Q2 2026 quarterly investor update for its "Guinness Global Innovators Fund". You can download the letter here. The Guinness Global Innovators Fund focuses on investing in global companies that benefit from innovation in technology, communication, globalization, and management strategies. In the second quarter of 2026, the Guinness Global Innovators Fund returned 13.8% in GBP, compared with 13.0% for the MSCI World Index and 13.1% for the IA Global sector average. Easing Middle East tensions, falling oil prices, and renewed enthusiasm for artificial intelligence helped reverse much of the caution seen earlier in the year, with investors rotating back toward growth stocks and AI infrastructure beneficiaries. The Fund benefited from its overweight position in the Information Technology sector, while its overweight position in Communication Services detracted. Avoiding weaker Utilities, Materials, and Energy also supported relative performance. Also, please check the Fund's top five holdings to see its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Guinness Global Innovators Fund highlighted Nasdaq, Inc. (NASDAQ:NDAQ) as a new holding. Nasdaq, Inc. Home equity loans, HELOCs and cash-out refinances are three popular ways to borrow money, using your home as collateral.
A cash-out refinance replaces your existing mortgage at today's rate, while home equity loans and HELOCs involve taking on a separate debt that leaves your current mortgage rate untouched.
With all three, the amount you can borrow will depend on the amount of equity (ownership stake) you have in your home.
If you bought or refinanced between 2020 and 2022 and locked in a primary mortgage rate below where rates sit today, a HELOC or home equity loan can protect that low rate. If your rate is at or above today's average, a cash-out refinance may actually improve your terms.
Homeowners are sitting on a record $18 trillion in home equity, but which option makes sense — and at what rate — depends on one thing: whether your current mortgage rate is better or worse than what's available today. "Choosing between a home equity loan, HELOC or cash-out refinance isn't a one-size-fits-all decision," says Tim Choate, founder and CEO of Red Awning, a platform for short-term vacation rental owners and property managers. "Each option has unique characteristics that align with different financial needs, risk profiles, and flexibility requirements."

JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon is very clearly telling investors that they need to start worrying. In his company's second-quarter earnings release, he highlighted geopolitical tensions, inflation, fiscal deficits, and elevated ****** et prices as areas of concern. And, in an interview with CNBC, he noted that margin debt is at an all-time high. That last one could lead to a downward spiral that breaks the bull market. Here's what you need to know.
What's interesting in the list of concerns Jamie Dimon outlined in his company's second-quarter earnings is that ****** et prices are elevated despite the other negatives. Now, there is an old saying on Wall Street that the market climbs a wall of worry, so perhaps you could dismiss this situation. But when you add in record levels of margin debt to the equation, the story takes a very different turn.

Margin debt is a loan from a broker that is backed by an investor's portfolio. While the loan can be used for any purpose the investor would like (buying a car, for example), most use the money to buy additional investments. The loan risk isn't significant because it is backed by the portfolio. However, the broker will require the investor to maintain a certain amount of collateral to keep the loan open. This is where things get interesting.
Modest margin debt is unlikely to be a big issue. But if an investor uses margin loans aggressively, even a modest decline in stock prices could leave them with too little collateral. That would trigger a margin call, in which the broker demands additional collateral. The investor could just add cash to the account, but in most situations, the solution is to sell stocks. (If the investor doesn't provide additional collateral quickly enough, the broker will step in and sell stocks from the account.)

Bitcoin functions as a genuine cheat code for retiring without ever selling, according to **** yst and entrepreneur Mark Moss, who laid out that thesis in a recent Coin Stories podcast interview.
His central thesis runs counter to conventional wisdom. The goal should never be to sell Bitcoin to fund a lifestyle, but to stay in the owner column rather than the consumer column.
Under the debt-based monetary system in place since 1971, money enters circulation through credit, and credit requires collateral. Owning even $1 of Bitcoin makes someone an owner who can borrow against it.
Selling, by contrast, triggers tax events, eliminates that collateral, and converts a long-term **** et into short-term spending. He also challenges traditional retirement thinking.
The goal should not be freedom from work, he argues, but freedom to work on whatever someone actually chooses.

ETFs used to track markets. Now they're engineering outcomes.
That can mean stacking more exposure into each dollar, turning market moves into income, cushioning losses, or magnifying a bet.
Take the WisdomTree US Efficient Core Fund (NTSX). It allocates roughly 90% of its ******* ets to US stocks, using Treasury futures to add another 60% of bond exposure.
In effect, every $100 invested provides about $150 of market exposure — $90 in stocks and $60 in Treasurys.
The trick is that futures don't require the fund to put up the full value of the bonds. A smaller amount can serve as collateral, leaving most of the money available for stocks.

The price of bitcoin early Thursday bolted to a two-month high above $71,000, driving crypto stocks higher. The Treasury Department's Wednesday announcement regarding long-term bond buybacks appeared to spark the rally, further fueled by a massive wave of short liquidations and the Trump administration's commitment to passing crypto regulations.
The Commodities Futures Trading Commission today hosts its first Innovation Advisory Committee meeting.
The price of bitcoin by Thursday morning vaulted to near $72,200, soaring almost 12% over the prior 24 hours to its highest price since the end of May, according to CoinMarketCap data. Bitcoin on Wednesday spiked above $68,000 after the Treasury Department announced plans to double the size of its long-term bond buybacks, which prompted a drop in Treasury yields and the U.S. dollar.
The price of bitcoin traded around $65,000 early Wednesday prior to the announcement.
"This matters for bitcoin because lower yields, a potentially weak dollar and improving financial conditions should encourage capital to rotate toward scarce, global liquid **** ets. It also strengthens bitcoin's appeal as an independent store of value at a time of rising government debt and greater official intervention in the markets," Joel Kruger, market strategist at LMAX Group said. "Lower yields and reduced bond-market volatility support crypto collateral values, lending activity, stablecoin liquidity and demand for onchain (on the blockchain) yield."

Baseball pitching great Tommy John died at his Florida home on Saturday night. He was 83.
Unfortunately for many, remembering his game takes a backseat to the fact that his name is commonly ***** ociated with one of the sport's most common surgeries.
The four-time MLB All-Star with a career ERA of just 3.34 was 31 in 1974 when he tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. Los Angeles Dodgers team physician Dr. Frank Jobe replaced the ligament with a tendon from the forearm in his non-pitching arm.
Long story short, he pitched for 14 more years and his name — is ***** ociated with the procedure — Tommy John surgery — now so widely ***** ociated with baseball that it churned up numbers like the ones Albuquerque Isotopes broadcaster and baseball journalist/historian Josh Suchon shared on his Substack page on Monday.
In the essay Suchon wrote — "When did people start calling it Tommy John surgery?" — he noted a rather interesting, albeit unplanned, tribute of sorts to John by the Isotopes in their game Sunday, the day his passing was announced.
