Bitcoin (BTC) dipped by 3.2% yesterday, following news that a procedural vote on the Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate failed to meet the required threshold.
With 49 votes in favor, 11 less than the minimum established to move the bill to the main floor, the Clarity Act has now been shelved for what remains of the year.
Republicans made a few amendments to the bill in the past few days to entice Democrats, but apparently failed to ease their concerns regarding the ethical provisions they were demanding.
Most other cryptocurrencies experienced strong declines following the news, but seem to be starting to recover this morning.
Truth be told, the market had already priced in that the Clarity Act would not be passed this year. Odds in Polymarket have been collapsing for months, although they recovered to 30% last week ahead of this key vote.

Gold can act as a hedge against inflation, but it doesn't reliably rise whenever inflation does. Some investors use gold to help preserve purchasing power as prices rise, but inflation is only one of several factors that can influence gold prices.
If you've researched gold as an investment, you've probably come across financial experts ****** erting that gold is a hedge against inflation. Understanding what that actually means — and what it doesn't — can help put gold's role in an investment portfolio into perspective.
An inflation hedge is an investment or strategy intended to help offset the loss of purchasing power caused by rising prices.
As inflation rises, each dollar buys a little less than it did before. For example, imagine a cart of groceries that costs $100 today. If those same groceries cost $105 next year, your $100 no longer buys as much as it did before.

On September 3, a caller asked whether to rotate out of artificial intelligence stocks and add to Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) rather than chase Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) or Cardinal Health (NYSE:CAH). Mad Money host Jim Cramer said:
Well, I'll tell you… I think it's always good to look at Lilly as a stock that I think has a lot of things that are going well, but I want to wait. Well, actually, you know, tell you the truth… It's pulled back. I think you're fine, I think you're fine to add some. I'm going to okay that. And I understand JNJ's moved a great deal. It's been a great club hit and Cardinal has been terrific, too. So, thank you for referencing those two really good ones.
Cramer was also asked to rank J&J, Lilly, and Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) by another caller. He said:
Okay, so let's take them. J&J is best of breed, AAA balance sheet, 18 drugs… You're not going to have any expiration problems, okay? Lilly has one huge drug that we know is going to be a franchise for many, many years. I do like a diversifying pattern more. And Pfizer's starting to creep up and is playing catch-up, but I need a reason to recommend it. So I'm going to say J&J and Lilly and then Pfizer.
The latest results largely explain the differences in Cramer's ranking. Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) has the strongest growth profile by a wide margin. Second-quarter revenue jumped 48% to $23 billion, while reported EPS increased 26% to $7.94 and non-GAAP EPS rose 33% to $8.38. Mounjaro revenue rose 91% to $9.9 billion, while US Zepbound revenue increased 44% to $4.9 billion. The company also raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $85 billion-$87 billion.

For the first time in recent memory, the market doesn't have much of an idea of what the Federal Reserve will do with interest rates at its September meeting. We're less than two weeks away from the Fed's decision, and investors aren't sure whether to expect a rate hike for the first time since 2023 or if the Fed will hold rates steady.
According to the CME FedWatch tool, which monitors how the market is pricing future interest rate movements, there's roughly a 40% chance that rates won't move and a 60% chance of a rate hike. Roughly half of the voting committee favors a hike, and Chair Kevin Warsh didn't offer any forward guidance at Jackson Hole last week. In short, there is considerable uncertainty.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »

Because of this uncertainty, many investors feel it's time to pump the brakes on investing or do something different with new money. But there are some investments that make sense for long-term investors regardless of what the stock market is doing, or how much economic uncertainty there is. One of them is the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (NYSEMKT:VOO).

The U.S. power grid is entering a period unlike any it has experienced in decades. Rapid electrification, domestic manufacturing, and the exponential growth of artificial intelligence are reshaping electricity demand. A recent report from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, projects that data centers alone could account for between 9.5% and 15.3% of total U.S. electricity consumption by 2030. More broadly, U.S. electricity demand is projected to grow by approximately 15% to 20% by 2035—roughly 80–110 GW of firm capacity—underscoring the scale of new generation that will be needed. Against this backdrop, executives across the utility, independent power producer, industrial, and technology sectors are making investment decisions that will shape the grid for decades.Safety is foundational to any nuclear project and is subject to rigorous review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). But the commercial and execution risks utilities must weigh extend well beyond safety: reactor design, constructability, supply chain readiness, licensing progress, workforce depth, operability, performance, and reliability.Advanced reactors are often discussed as a single technology class, yet the commercial and execution risks ******* ociated with individual designs differ substantially. As these technologies move toward commercial deployment, evaluating them requires a more comprehensive ******* sment of their technology, deployability, and commercial merits—and, importantly, the extent to which each design reduces or eliminates risk across multiple dimensions over the full project lifecycle. That ******* sment begins with three structural questions.
Capital efficiency is more than the magnitude of overnight capital cost (OCC). It encompasses how effectively capital is deployed and the capital intensity over time—especially before the commercial operation date (COD)—as well as post-COD costs: fuel, refueling outages, major projects and refurbishment, labor and other operations and maintenance (O&M) expenditures, and ultimately decommissioning. OCC offers only a partial view, since financing costs can account for a significant portion of total project cost. A smaller, simpler, faster-to-build design may achieve superior unit economics compared with higher-output designs that initially project a lower $/kW, once financing and schedule are considered. This amplifies the importance of long-lead materials, supply chain certainty and resilience, workforce and learning effects, and constructability in determining overall project cost and capital exposure.Utilities should also examine how fundamental reactor design choices affect both construction and lifecycle costs. Designs with high inherent safety that employ passive safety features—placing the plant into a safe condition through the natural laws of physics rather than relying primarily on active systems or operator intervention—can reduce reliance on multiple trai

Autodesk Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK)'s core business is growing at a healthy pace, profitability is improving, and management is confident about the long-term outlook. These are some of the factors that prompted Berenberg to reiterate a Buy rating on the stock on September 1, even as it trimmed its price target to $333 from $335.
The positive stance signals the research firm's confidence in the company's outlook following an impressive second quarter. Revenues increased 16% year over year to $2.05 billion, while billings increased 10% to $1.85 billion. Revenue exceeded the high end of guidance, powered by strong gains in key areas of Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Operations (AECO).
Profitability is increasingly becoming one of Autodesk's major strengths. The company's non-GAAP operating margin increased to 41%, while non-GAAP earnings per share came in at $3.30, comfortably above Wall Street expectations of $3.12.
Autodesk is also generating substantial free cash flow. Free cash flow increased 24% year over year to $561 million, illustrating the company's ability to convert its recurring revenue base into significant cash generation.

Riverwater Partners, an investment management company, released its 'Small Cap Strategy' Q2 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. The Small Cap Strategy underperformed the Russell 2000 in the second quarter as the benchmark experienced one of its strongest risk-on rallies in recent memory, although the strategy remained ahead year-to-date. The quarter was defined by accelerating AI investment, energy market disruptions, and renewed investor appetite for higher-beta stocks, creating headwinds for the firm's quality-focused approach and healthcare positioning. Despite this, stock selection contributed positively in energy, materials, and financials, while healthcare and consumer discretionary detracted due to the fund's disciplined avoidance of speculative businesses. Looking ahead, the firm remains cautiously optimistic, focusing on opportunities created by market dislocations, including AI infrastructure enablers, select consumer companies, healthcare innovators, and energy businesses trading below intrinsic value. The strategy continues to emphasize high-quality companies with strong management teams and attractive valuations, positioning the portfolio for a potential rotation away from speculative market leadership. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Riverwater Partners Small Cap Strategy highlighted Stevanato Group S.p.A. (NYSE:STVN) as a new holding. Stevanato Group S.p.A. (NYSE:STVN) is an Italian company that designs and distributes products and processes that offer integrated solutions for the biopharma and healthcare industries. On August 31, 2026, Stevanato Group S.p.A. (NYSE:STVN) closed at $21.03 per share. Stevanato Group S.p.A. (NYSE:STVN) gained 9.06% in the past month while its shares lost 5.39% over the past 52 weeks. Stevanato Group S.p.A. (NYSE:STVN) has a market capitalization of $5.85 billion and its stock has traded within a 52-week range of $12.89 to $28.00.
Riverwater Partners Small Cap Strategy stated the following regarding Stevanato Group S.p.A. (NYSE:STVN) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"In addition, we initiated positions in Stevanato Group S.p.A. (NYSE:STVN), a leading global provider of drug containment, drug delivery, and diagnostic solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences industries. The stock sold off following the launch of oral GLP-1s, which many believe will end the need for injectable forms. Experts believe an expanding GLP-1 TAM, coupled with varying use cases, will necessitate ongoing need for injectable forms. Indeed, 25% of drugs approved in 2025 were biologics which will require injectable devices. This market overreaction offered an attractive entry valuation of 12.5x FY2026E EBITDA vs. STVN's historic multiple of 20X and its nearest comp West Pharmaceutical (WST) at approximately 22–25x."

SoFi's app headline shows 3.80% APY, but a buried 0.70% boost expires after six months, reverting the rate to 3.10%.
On a $25,000 balance, the reversion costs $175 annually, making the real first-year blended yield 3.45%, not 3.80%.
Find the boost activation date in the SoFi app's promotions section. That date, not the promotion window, is what starts your six-month clock.
At the national average savings rate, $40,000 earns about $150 a year. In one of today's top-rated high-yield accounts, the same balance earns $1,200 or more. See the current best rates, side by side.
I recently moved $25,000 into SoFi's High Yield Savings Account. It's an excellent product, and a better place to park my cash than my normal bank which pays close to zero. But when logging in recently, Mmy SoFi app tells me two different things about the same $25,000. The account header reads 3.80% APY. Two screens deeper, the "Ways to earn" panel lists direct deposit at 3.10% and a $5,000-plus qualifying deposit at 3.10%. Both numbers are accurate. The 0.70% APY Boost between them is a promotion on a six-month clock, and nothing on the header screen says so.

JPMorgan Chase is easing its approach to loans secured against shares held by employees and early investors in recently listed companies, the Financial Times reported citing people familiar with the matter.

German robotics startup Neura Robotics has announced its fifth acquisition in 16 months as it races to build a physical AI platform through acquisitions.
The company announced on Monday that it will take full ownership of Adlatus, a German maker of autonomous cleaning and sweeping robots for industry, logistics, healthcare and public ****** es.
Neura plans to add its own sensor and AI capabilities to Adlatus's fleet, which it will then fold into its shared physical AI infrastructure, the Neuraverse.

Eagle Capital Management, an investment management company, released its second quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. In the quarter, Eagle Capital Management discussed how enthusiasm around AI capital spending has driven strong S&P 500 earnings growth while also increasing risks from elevated valuations, concentrated demand, and aggressive investment ****** umptions. Eagle remains a strong believer in AI but prefers constructing a portfolio that can perform across multiple outcomes rather than relying on one forecast. The firm believes current earnings can overstate underlying economics because semiconductor equipment is depreciated over several years, while free cash flow growth remains much weaker. It also expects competition and additional capacity across AI labs, hyperscalers, and semiconductors to eventually create winners and losers. These dynamics are encouraging Eagle to recycle capital toward attractive opportunities outside the most crowded AI trades while maintaining selective exposure to high quality beneficiaries. The portfolio trades at a 20% market discount with faster expected EPS growth. Please review the Strategy's top five holdings for key selections.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Eagle Capital Management highlighted Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN). Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is a multinational technology and retail company known for its leading online marketplace and cloud platform. On August 18, 2026, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) closed at $259.45 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $2.8 trillion. Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) posted a one‑month return of 5.96%, while its shares gained 15.92% over the past 52 weeks.
Eagle Capital Management stated the following regarding Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Amazon Web Services ("AWS"), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform ("GCP") are highly profitable businesses with strong growth, margins, and returns on capital. We own positions in each. These businesses are growing faster and will be even bigger than we previously thought. However, there is little question that the industry structure they inhabit is worse than it was a few years ago.

Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) carries a market capitalization of about $48.6 billion. Over the past 12 months, the company collected $877.9 million in revenue.
Divide one by the other and the stock trades at roughly 55 times sales -- the sort of multiple usually attached to a software business. Nebius buys graphics processors by the billion and signs power contracts by the gigawatt.
Continue »
But the trailing figure in that fraction is doing something odd. In the first quarter, group revenue rose 684% year over year to $399 million. Revenue at the Nebius artificial intelligence (AI) cloud business alone rose 841% year over year to $390 million, up 82% from the previous quarter.
In other words, the past 12 months include periods when this company was a small fraction of its current size. The denominator describes a business that no longer exists. So what is the price actually ******* uming?

Figuring out when you can afford to retire often comes down to determining whether your ******* ets will produce enough annual income to support your lifestyle and spending needs.
With $500,000 in a Roth IRA and $2,000 in combined monthly Social Security and pension payments, you may be able to afford to retire at age 62. However, that will mean living on approximately $44,000 per year. Some retirees may be satisfied with this level of income, but it may not support you adequately if you plan to do a lot of traveling or live in a high-cost area.
Before making the decision to stop working at 62, you'll also need to develop a plan for paying for health insurance since you won't be eligible for Medicare until age 65.
If you need help deciding when to retire, connect with a financial advisor and have them build you an income plan based on your unique financial situation.

Long-term contract rates businesses pay to move air freight are expected to rise 5% to 15% this year, instead of retreating, because the resumption of hostilities between Iran and the United States is once again reducing airline capacity through the critical Middle East corridor, freight ***** ytics firm Xeneta said in a market outlook published on Friday.
Xeneta's initial forecast at the start of the year was for contract rates to fall 5% to 10% in 2026.
Strong demand for semiconductors and AI-related hardware helped push air cargo demand to 7% year-over-year growth in June. AI technology represents about 10% of total air cargo volume. The June volume growth was well ahead of expectations and supply, which grew 3% with the return of capacity suspended by the Middle East disruption. The demand-supply imbalance pushed aircraft utilization up 3 points to 62%, which influenced the higher rates.
But market dynamics since Xeneta's monthly report on July 2 are quickly changing again after the United States and Iran broke a shaky ceasefire last week.
The start of the Iran war on Feb. 28 immediately forced more than 12% of global air cargo capacity — in passenger belly holds and freighter aircraft — out of service because of airspace and airport closures, flight cancellations and reduced frequencies, and longer transit times for rerouting to avoid war risk. Initial capacity reductions were close to 20%, according to consultancy Rotate.
