The schedule is always published later than many supporters would like because a number of clubs share stadiums with men's teams. The league therefore has to wait until the fixture lists for the top five tiers of the men's game have been finalised before confirming dates.
It should be a slightly less congested campaign for ***** nal than last season. The club are not involved in the FIFA Women's Champions Cup, avoiding a trip to Miami, while there is no Subway Players' Cup either, as clubs competing in the UEFA Women's Champions League are exempt on player welfare grounds.
The previous format, which awarded Champions League clubs a bye to the quarter-finals, provided a significant advantage. The fact that only ***** nal, Chelsea and Manchester City have ever won the competition suggests that format may not have helped competitive balance. With none of those three clubs involved this season, a new name will be added to the trophy.

Utah and Brigham Young are the flagship universities in the Beehive State. Most of the success in college athletics comes from those two schools. However, there are five other institutions in the state that play in Division I that are worthy of attention.
Yes, the exercise of recognizing the 10 greatest college athletes who played in Utah is going to focus on the Utes and Cougars, who both have taken a circuitous patch to eventually reach their current membership in the Big 12 Conference. The Cougars boast a Heisman Trophy winner and several other well-known quarterbacks. The Utes have their own notable success in multiple sports.

But the list is also going to include some other standouts who didn't play on the biggest stage in the state. Utah State and Weber State respectively produced a Pro Football Hall of Famer who also gained notoriety outside the sporting world and a future Basketball Hall of Famer.

He threw for 15,031 yards and 121 touchdowns while setting 59 NCAA records in his time with the Cougars. Miami running back De'Von Achane is aware that the Dolphins are not viewed as contenders this year, and he's happy to be on a team that opponents are overlooking.
Achane said he and his teammates will be ready to make other teams regret looking past them.
"We're kind of used to that," Achane said. "We don't pay no mind to that. If teams feel that way about us, that means when they play us, they're gonna be not taking us seriously. And if you're doing that, then you're gonna have a long day for yourself."

Jul. 29—Multiple schools in the Miami Valley have indicated they do not plan to add girls flag football to their list of athletic programs.
Cox First Media surveyed area high schools about their interest in offering girls flag football as a varsity activity following its approval by the OHSAA as its 29th sport. No area school that responded to the survey provided a "yes"-type response outside of the schools that already offer the sport.
School administrators did provide positive feedback on the sport's growth and acceptance by the OHSAA.
Northmont athletic director Micah Harding indicated the school is not in a position to add any new programs as it attempts to avoid further expenses, but believes it could be something that is explored in a better financial situation.

Sloppy defense and ineffective pitching led to a gut-punch loss for the Colorado Rockies Tuesday night. The Rockies had four errors and allowed six walks, making it hard to quell the continuous pressure from the San Diego Padres. Now, the Rockies look to snag a series split to close out the short stint against the Padres.
Gabriel Hughes (0-2, 2.79 ERA) looks to continue the strong start to his young career. Over his three starts, Hughes has proven to be unflappable and capable of handling any type of big league lineup. He has gone at least five innings and allowed three or fewer runs in each start while striking out at least five batters. In his last outing, Hughes battled the Washington Nationals, allowing just one run on five hits over five innings of work. Hughes' cut fastball continues to baffle hitters and when his secondary pitches are working, he can almost look unhittable. The issue he ran into his last time out was that the Nationals ran his pitch count up with an excess of foul **** . That was also what got Michael Lorenzen in trouble yesterday. Either way, Hughes will have to find a way to get ahead of the Padres and work quickly and efficiently to save the bullpen.

A starter for most of his professional career, Hart has mostly been used as a reliever by the Padres at the big league level. In 27 appearances this season, including two starts as an opener, Hart has allowed 24 runs over 38 innings with 33 strikeouts and 12 walks. His last time out, Hart tossed two scoreless innings against the Miami Marlins and in the outing before that he started against Athletics and threw a scoreless inning. He has faced the Rockies three times this season, allowing three runs on four hits over 5.2 innings of work. In five total outings against the Rockies, he owns a 2.70 ERA in 13.1 innings.

Farmer played at Lane from 2018-22. After going undrafted in 2023, he's spent one season with the Los Angeles Chargers, one with the Denver Broncos and one with the 49ers. Over his three years in the league, he's appeared in eight games and recorded three tackles. The 26-year-old suffered a back injury on Sunday.
Bradley-King played at Arkansas State from 2016-19, earning All-Sun Belt honors twice, before transferring to Baylor for one final season. He went in the seventh round (No. 240 overall) of the 2021 NFL draft, and spent time with the Washington Commanders, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins before joining the 49ers last year. He's appeared in four games and recorded seven tackles and a half-sack over the last five years in the league. The 28-year-old was injured Monday.

Now, the Heat have one of the most promising teams ahead of the 2026-27 season. Giannis steps in as the #1 guy for Erik Spoelstra, but he is not alone because he will be starting alongside Bam Adebayo.
Combining Giannis and Bam in the same frontcourt is already dangerous for most opponents. They will struggle scoring against them because these two are arguably the best defenders in the league.

Following another post-All Star Game defeat, this time a 1-0 loss to the Miami Marlins that secured their fourth consecutive series loss to start the second half and dropped them to 3-8 in their last 11 games, Bryce Harper uttered a statement of fact we all know to be true.
"I think we need some help."

Chelsea has been busy this summer. The Stamford Bridge club has broken its transfer record to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa with Marco Palestra also joining from Atalanta and Geovany Quenda coming in from Sporting CP. Chelsea has clearly altered its strategy ahead of the 2026/27 season.
This is reflected by the Blues' interest in Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck, both of whom are reportedly close to joining the Stamford Bridge outfit. Henderson is 36 while Welbeck is 35. That Chelsea is even interested in such experienced players says a lot about how the strategy has changed over the summer.

The Atlanta Falcons are adding an experienced quarterback as injuries prevent their top two options from practicing.
Atlanta is signing former Baltimore Ravens backup Cooper Rush, according to multiple reports. The move comes as Tua Tagovailoa deals with back tightness and Michael Penix Jr. remains sidelined while recovering from a knee injury.

Quarterback play is always paramount in modern college football, as opposed to past decades when the running game mattered most in the sport. This is true in the Big Ten. Fernando Mendoza, the starting quarterback for the **** le-winning Indiana Hoosiers last season, was picked No. 1 in this past NFL draft. This upcoming season, the best quarterbacks in college football reside in the Big Ten. Whoever comes out on top in the Big Ten will have a quarterback who proved to be the best in college football.
Here is my ranking of the top five quarterbacks in the Big Ten:
Dante Moore shone last season, and just like last year, he was in conversations for being the best quarterback in college football. Moore threw for 2733 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He is dangerous in the pocket and an underrated athlete. Last year, he made the most of having great weapons and a great run game, helping lead Oregon's prolific offense to a college football playoff berth. This season, he enters with more continuity and a deeper set of weapons at each of the skill positions. I expect Moore to have a big season and end the year off being the undisputed #1 overall pick just like Fernando Mendoza.
Sayin's season last year was incredible, and he was extremely efficient. He had all the resources to be in that position with weapons, Jeremiah Smith, and Carnell Tate, but he still maximized his opportunity as a freshman starter. He ended the year with 3323 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. The connection he has with Jeremiah Smith is already a proven one, and he showed he can run the offense even better than Will Howard did the year prior. However, as expected from most freshmen, under the bright lights, he did fall short in the College Football Playoff vs the Miami Hurricanes and in the Big Ten championship vs the Indiana Hoosiers. Although his season was special, he still has more room to grow. If he takes that next step, the Ohio State Buckeyes will have another national **** le trophy in their case.
Jayden Maiava still does not get the credit he deserves for how good he truly was last season. In his first season as a starting quarterback, he led the Trojans' offense to being a top unit in the country. Lincoln Riley's offense was dangerous and high scoring because of how good and confident Maiava was last season. Maiava threw for 3431 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. Maiava is a gun slinger, and he takes a lot of shots, but playing more under control would do wonders for his perception and draft stock. If he can have a similar season, with fewer interceptions and showcase his running ability more, there is reason to believe he can be one of the first quarterbacks taken in this next draft. The success of the Trojans this year falls on Maiava's back, but I am confident he will take a step forward and not back in year 2.

On Tuesday, the social media influencer took to Instagram to share a picture from Skin Club Miami laser studio. She captioned the mirror selfie, "tattoo removal today."
She followed the post with a video of the tattoo removal process, which extracted her "444" tattoo. The piece was initially done as a tribute for Liam after his death in October 2024. It represented the couple's angel number that meant love and support.

Each loss, four in all, seemed to be another nail in the coffin on the 2026 season. The Padres limped into their final series of the road trip against the Miami Marlins with their season seemingly hanging in the balance. Anything less than a winning series would have surely resulted in the team looking to offload expiring contracts at the deadline relegating the remaining players on the roster to play out the string of games before heading to the offseason.
The Padres had other plans and instead of just winning the series against the Marlins, they swept the team from South Beach and handed them their 12th consecutive loss. San Diego had a thrilling win in the third and final game of the series that saw the Padres enter the eighth inning trailing by two runs. Manny Machado hit a two-run home run to tie the game and two batters later, Jackson Merrill connected on a solo home run to put San Diego in the lead. Luis Campusano later added an RBI-single in the inning and the Friar Faithful got a glimpse of what the Padres could be — and were expected to be.

The move shouldn't have any impact on the Yankees' pursuit of a righty-swinging catcher prior to the Aug. 3 trade deadline, though options appear limited for them and a handful of other needy clubs.
While Bethancourt is a right-handed hitter, he's ideally just another experienced Triple-A depth catcher for the Yankees alongside J.C. Escarra, a lefty. That depth could prove useful down the road since big league backup Ali Sánchez is out of minor league options.
Sánchez, a right-handed hitter who crushed the first homer of his career in Tuesday's win, would likely be forced out if the Yankees trade for a catcher to pair with the lefty-swinging Austin Wells.

The Florida State Seminoles have been picked to finish 11th in the ACC Preseason Media Poll, the conference announced on Tuesday.
The Seminoles received 1,439 points and three first-place votes out of 188, which was the fifth most of any team. The Miami Hurricanes were picked to win the conference, receiving 165 first-place votes and 3,159 points.
The SMU Mustangs finished second with 2,759 points and the Louisville Cardinals third with 2,569 points. Despite finishing fourth, the Clemson Tigers received the second most first-place votes with seven, SMU received six. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets round out the top five with 2,006 points and two first-place votes.
The Seminoles will open ACC play against SMU on Sept. 7 in ******* Howser Stadium. They will follow it up with two non-conference games before they host Virginia on Oct. 3. Their first road ACC games will be the following weeks, with them playing at Louisville and Miami.

MIAMI GARDENS ― About seven Miami Dolphins receivers took up quarterback Malik Willis on an offer to do voluntary workouts in Jacksonville this summer.
"I'm just glad that they had a little time to spend and we can steal a couple reps before we get in the training camp," Willis said on the day training camp opened.
Four of the known receivers were Malik Washington, Greg Dulcich, Seydou Traore and Cole Turner.
What did Willis takeway from the extra work?
"Little things that you probably don't notice just looking around like who gets out there breaks faster, who I can throw to a little earlier than later, who likes it right on them or do they like it above their head?" Willis said. "I mean, just all those type of things that can help you be successful as far as minimizing risk."

Unsurprisingly, the Cleveland Cavaliers need to add another forward to the roster in the wake of LeBron James going to the Philadelphia 76ers. It seems that the signing of Mario Hezonja is not the only transaction the Cavaliers are pursuing.
In a segment on NBA Today, ESPN's Shams Charania noted that "DeMar DeRozan has interest from Cleveland". Charania also mentioned that "Miami, Denver and Cleveland are among the teams interested in DeMar DeRozan".
The Sacramento Kings bought out DeRozan earlier this month. DeRozan will turn 37 by the time the season tips off in October. Age hasn't hindered his ability to be a microwave scorer and availability averaging 18.4 points while shooting 49.7% from the field in the 77 games played this past season.
The Cavaliers clearly need wing talent after Dean Wade signed with the 76ers and Keon Ellis signed with the Brooklyn Nets. DeRozan projects as a more awkward fit for Cleveland's roster given that he has been the primary scoring option for the majority of his career. Even though the pads aren't on yet, the competition in training camp is heating up. The Los Angeles Rams held their second practice at LMU on Monday and a handful of players stood out in a positive way – including two young guys who are trying to make their mark on the 53-man roster.
Based on reports from camp, here are four players who performed well in Monday's practice.
The Rams traded up for Daniels in the sixth round of the draft this year and they may have found their latest Day 3 gem. The San Diego Padres have six games before the trade deadline on Aug. 3 and that means that each game will be critical to determine whether the team will be a buyer or a seller. The first of those six games is tonight against the Colorado Rockies, and the cellar-dwelling NL West rival would love nothing more than to take down the Padres in two games before the San Francisco Giants come to town for a four-game set.
San Diego is coming off a three-game sweep of the Miami Marlins, which allowed them to catch and pass a team they are battling with for a National League Wild Card position. There is still more to do for the Padres and while the games against the Rockies will not allow them to knock off another team in front of them winning these games is still of utmost importance.
