In his heyday, Terrell Owens was one of the NFL's very best. Some thought he was on track to become the greatest receiver of all time.
While Owens didn't quite become a GOAT, the five-time First-Team All-Pro's name is enshrined in the Hall of Fame. Yet, now the 52-year-old suggests he would be struggling financially if he hadn't earned a bronze bust in Canton.
Owens ranks third on the NFL's all-time receiving leaders list with 15,934 receiving yards. He's also third in receiving touchdowns with 153.
Despite all his accomplishments, Owens raked in $79.6 million in career earnings. That's a fraction of the top receivers' paychecks today. Receivers in the league in this era eclipse that figure after just two seasons of play after landing their first contract extension.
For example, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, the NFL's highest-paid receiver, earns an average of $42.15 million per season.

Jul. 30—When 90+ Project Director of Programming and Coach Aaron Lewis asked the players at Thrive International's youth summer soccer camp how many of them weren't born in the United States, dozens of hands shot up.
Sitting in the grass at Franklin Park, those same players watched as four out of the five Spokane Velocity players who were visiting camp Thursday raised their hands, too.
"You're my GOAT," 9-year-old Mel Akon later told Velocity left-backer Moses Mensah while the kids collected autographs on soccer ****** , cleats and posters. "One day I'm gonna look like you and be like you."
"I want to see that," Mensah, originally from Ghana, answered without hesitation.
The annual youth soccer camp is run through a partnership with refugee resettlement organization Thrive International and sports-based youth development organization 90+ Project. This year, close to 200 kids, including kindergartners to 12th graders, from more than a dozen nationalities, arrived at Franklin Park to play soccer.

Over the past few seasons, UCLA Bruin fans got to witness Lauren Betts operate in the post. While Betts is best known for her defense or her dominating frame, which left many college opponents feeling defensive, Betts was also a gifted passer.
With Betts' passing ability it shouldn't be too surprising to hear that her favorite player is Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic. Jokic is an NBA champion and is a three-time league MVP.
During the WNBA All-Star Weekend, Betts revealed that she was hoping for a surprise from the Nuggets superstar center.

Bam Adebayo said he has no hard feelings toward LeBron James' surprising decision to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason. However, the Miami Heat star let James know he'll be coming for him the next time they meet on the NBA court.
Speaking at a community event in Miami on Tuesday, Adebayo revealed his text to James after the latter spurned the Heat for the Sixers, which feels like friendly banter for these two stars, given they've built a friendship in the past few years.

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk has defended his player Leroy Sané who he feels was blamed for Germany's early 2026 World Cup exit.
"Leroy is one of the last players you could possibly single out as a scapegoat," Buruk said, speaking to Sky Germany.

Throughout this latest summer of LeBron, Barkley has insisted he should return to the Cleveland Cavaliers for one last go-around with his hometown team. When the Buffalo Bills open up training camp at the end of July, there are going to be a handful of battles at position groups, but the most important might be at wide receiver.
The Bills did a solid job updating their receiving core this offseason with the big move of trading for Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore, but there are still a handful of other roster spots that need upgrades at the position.
One of the key areas to watch during training camp is who will be named the two outside starting receivers. Fansided's NFL insider, Jason La Canfora, identified the Bills' receiving competition as one of the eight biggest training camp battles.
"In most of these instances we are drilling down at a particular spot on the depth chart, and we certainly figure DJ Moore is the top guy here given what it took to get him, but this is kind of jumped. Keon Coleman has been a bit of a scapegoat for the Bills coming up short as an organization and Joshua Palmer is a nice depth signing with upside and Khalil Shakir has probably been overexposed and asked to do too much; maybe he settles into a slot-exclusive role now," La Canfora wrote on Thursday. "This group needs to step up its overall production, and they need Moore to be a legit go-to guy. I believe he will."
Moore is going to win one of the jobs if everything goes according to plan, which means not suffering any injury. However, the No. 2 outside receiver spot is going to be a test.

The bid, submitted last week, reportedly irritated Cologne bosses because it fell short of their €50m price tag set for El Mala. Generally speaking, most people consider either Michael Jordan or LeBron James to be the GOAT of professional basketball. Jordan was an incredible presence from 1984 to 2003, minus his first two retirements. As for James, he started playing in the NBA in 2003 and, for better or worse, is still playing (he is not the player he used to be, and at some point, his diminishing skills will hurt his legacy).
As we said, most people would go with one of them for the greatest of all time, but not everyone. Take Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Kareem has a somewhat forgotten choice: Oscar Robertson. Robertson was somewhat overshadowed in the 1960s by the Boston Celtics, and the Lakers, first with Jerry West and Elgin Baylor, and later with Wilt Chamberlain, but was he truly great?
Absolutely, he was, and this video makes a plausible argument for placing him ahead of Jordan and James.
Robertson, first and foremost, was decades ahead of his time. He was a 6-5 point guard who averaged a triple-double. He was immensely skilled, and strong enough to box out much bigger players.

The Colorado Avalanche’s ECHL affiliate announced the signing of defenseman Trevor Zins for its inaugural season, which begins Oct. 16 at the Rio Rancho Events Center.
Zins is the second player the Goatheads have signed. The first-year franchise announced the addition of forward Grant Ahcan on Friday. Zins was a teammate of Ahcan’s older brother, Jack, during the 2019-20 season at St. Cloud State in Minnesota.
Zins spent two seasons at St. Cloud State — including as a member of the program’s national runner-up team in 2021 — but did not appear in any games, before finishing his college career at St. Thomas (Minnesota).
This will be the 27-year-old’s fourth professional season after stops with the Indy Fuel, Idaho Steelheads and Greensboro Gargoyles. He spent time with all three teams last season, recording two goals and 15 ****** ists in 65 regular-season games.

Jude Bellingham has done it for England, and his impressive display has not gone unnoticed by NFL GOAT Tom Brady.

The Ghana international joins the Billy Goats on a free transfer from AJ Auxerre and has signed a two-year deal.

He brings international experience to the table, put in strong performances in France last season and showed just that at the World Cup as well," said 1. FC Köln managing director Thomas Kessler.

Over the recent years, the Miami Dolphins have been seen as a soft football team under former head coach, Mike McDaniel. When the team played bigger, more physical teams the results were never pretty. Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley are now looking to be the bully and not the bullied.
