After an acclaimed All Out pay-per-view, AEW Dynamite returned on Wednesday, Sept. 2 with the fallout from the show in Allen, Texas. From Will Ospreay winning the AEW World Championship to Austin Creed and Kofi making their AEW debuts, it was a night to remember, and that's not even including the other ****** le changes that took place.
While this episode of Dynamite featured plenty of fallout, it also marked the beginning of the build toward the next pay-per-view, with two ****** le matches being made official for the Sept. 26 card. What would be added to the show?
All this and more transpired on this episode of Dynamite:
A recap video of All In plays.
Justin Roberts introduces the new AEW World Champion, Will Ospreay, who comes to the ring. Ospreay says he's "been on a bender" since Sunday celebrating his win. He says All In was amazing, thanks everyone who has been with him on his journey from the beginning and thanks everyone else for their support.
Ospreay says Kenny Omega has been the best wrestler in the world for the last 10 years and still is. Ospreay says Omega is better than him 364 days of the year, except for that one day. Ospreay says they're now tied at 2-2 as the crowd chants for one more match. He says he's satisfied with that record, but if Omega isn't, he can name a time and place to settle the score.
Ospreay starts naming past AEW World Champions, some of whom he says were his heroes. He says the reality is that he's now among all of them, and all of his idols are his rivals.
Ospreay questions his confidence but realizes he's now the standard in AEW.
Ospreay shouts out the United Empire and thanks them for helping him succeed. He says while there's a United Empire in ****** an, he's going to bring the United Empire to AEW.
As Ospreay readies to leave, Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun interrupt. Ricochet says Ospreay knows they have unfinished business and that they're forever intertwined. He also congratulates Ospreay and Omega on their match.
Ricochet understands the fans don't give him credit, but says Ospreay knows him better than they do. Ricochet says Ospreay would not have been in the All In main event without him, and he demands the first shot at the ****** le.
Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors interrupt, and Kidd says Ospreay took away his chances to become the first British IWGP Heavyweight Champion and AEW World Champion. Ricochet and Kidd trade words until they align and head to the ring to target Ospreay, but United Empire runs down to make the save. Ospreay says they can meet in the main event in a tag team match.

All Elite Wrestling, better known as AEW, put on its biggest show of the year at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
The main event featured champion Kenny Omega, arguably the greatest wrestler of his generation, up against the United Kingdom's favorite wrestling son, the "Aerial ******* assin" Will Ospreay.
This was as good of a matchup on paper as you can set up in the world of professional wrestling, and from the phenomenally produced entrances to the action in the ring to the thrilling finish, it lived up to the billing. Ospreay won the ******* le on home soil, sending the crowd home happy and positioning him as one of the top faces of AEW for years to come.
While there's plenty to talk about regarding the match, one moment stands out above the rest, and it wound up serving as a litmus test for fans' preferences on how announcers handle the biggest moments in sports.
The most stunning moment of the match came after Omega hit his finishing move, the One-Winged Angel, on Ospreay in the middle of the ring. As the crowd and referee counted in unison, "One, two," Omega threw a fist in the air in presumed victory. But Ospreay kicked out.

He's the "aerial **** assin" who's widely seen as the best pro wrestler of the last decade, but Will Ospreay is keen to point out that it's not come from him.
"It's a statement that's been given to me by guys that I have the utmost respect for," he says.
"But you know me, I don't like tooting my own trumpet too much."
The professional wrestler started his career in the UK before making his name in Asia with New **** an Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).
He also wrestled in the US before signing for All Elite Wrestling - or AEW - which is what brings him back home to the UK this weekend.

AEW Dynamite
At long last, All In week has arrived. It's the biggest show on AEW's calendar, akin to WWE's WrestleMania, and is set to return to Wembley Stadium for the first time since 2024.
Before that happens, the go-home episode of AEW Dynamite took place from Glasgow, Scotland, on Wednesday, Aug. 26. It featured the final build for All In, including the semifinal matches of the Continental Challenge Cup and final words from the talent involved in Sunday's top matches.
So, what transpired? Let's take a look:
Will Ospreay opens the show. He says he had doubts about coming back from neck surgery to win the AEW World Championship. He says that long before AEW and NJPW, he started as a wrestler in the United Kingdom and talks about grinding there to prove it's where the best wrestle. Ospreay names a number of British wrestling greats, including some who have passed away.
Ospreay says when you think of the best in the world, it's hard to look past Kenny Omega. He says Omega isn't here tonight, but wants him to know that no one respects him more. Ospreay says that respect disappeared after Omega mentioned his son last week.
Ospreay says that on Sunday, Omega will get the Billy Goat, and he'll give everyone the performance of a lifetime.
Ospreay says it's time to bring the AEW World Championship home, and Omega will help him show that heroes are extraordinary people who can do extraordinary things.

Will Ospreay didn't know if he would ever wrestle again almost a year ago. The All Elite Wrestling's "Aerial ***** assin" suffered a terrifying injury with two herniated discs at the C2 and C6 vertebrae that required serious neck surgery in September 2025. However, given the 33-year-old's track record and overall, not returning to the ring was out of the question.
The English star trained like a mad man with the hope of making it back to perform in front of fans and family during All In on August 30. He ended up coming back miraculously in March. And not only will the Owen Hart Cup winner compete at historic Wembley Stadium, he's in the main event challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship.
It's a dream scenario where expectations are high for the two to deliver one for the ages. Ospreay feels the weight on his shoulders, but also the excitement at reaching the top of the proverbial mountain. Here the Londoner sits down with us ahead of the biggest match of his career.
Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega (AEW)
Put into perspective the journey in the last year from having this surgery that brings a number of uncertainties to now gearing up for this huge night in Wembley.

With the calendar turning to July, we're officially in the second half of 2026. The first half of the year produced some truly special moments, some serious head-scratchers and everything in between in the world of professional wrestling.
All throughout, we've been watching, ******* yzing, critiquing and fantasy booking, so what better group to dissect 2026 so far than the Uncrowned Horsemen themselves. So, without further ado, here's how Robert Jackman, Raj Prashad, Drake Riggs and Anthony Sulla-Heffinger rate the first half of the year in pro wrestling.
Let's ride!
Robert Jackman: I imagine we're going to have a fair bit of agreement here, but so be it. I'm going with Ospreay and Strickland at Forbidden Door this weekend. I really don't have much to add to Riggs' six-star review and live blog from the night itself, which now reads like a first draft of history.
It really was one of those matches that just ticked every box. It was athletically and technically impressive, it was well paced, there were killer spots, and it had a good storyline running throughout. The fact that they even made good use of the Death Riders feels like showing off. I mean, last year I couldn't wait to see the back of that crew, but they actually made it work.

Will Ospreay closed the weekend with fireworks, successfully defeating Swerve Strickland in the main event of AEW Forbidden Door 2026 on Sunday night from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Elsewhere across the card, Mercedes Moné earned another shot at the Women’s World Championship, Mark Briscoe won a ****** le shot against MJF, Jay White returned, Thekla wrecked Stardom, and Kenny Omega showed he’s still got it.
As we blitz into the summer months ahead of AEW All In at Wembley Stadium, here’s nine big takeaways from everything we just witnessed.
Will Ospreay is ready to fulfill his dream at Wembley.
It took everything he had in an Owen Hart Cup final that flip-flopped between Ospreay pouring blood and Swerve Strickland gushing puddles. The action was paced perfectly as Ospreay and Strickland picked their spots and extended the Match of the Night Year into a nail-biter.
The storytelling in this one was flawless, with Ospreay unable to get over the hump on his own and Strickland essentially laughing in his face through a crimson mask. As the Death Riders trotted to ringside, Ospreay’s no-sell on a House Call was chill inducing. Over the next few minutes, Ospreay pulled his past to the present, with callbacks to Jon Moxley, “Hangman” Adam Page, and ultimately a Tiger Driver to end Strickland’s night.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026
For the fifth annual Forbidden Door, AEW will join forces with New **** an Pro-Wrestling, CMLL and Stardom for a one-night showcase of the four promotions crossing paths at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, on Sunday, June 28.
The show is headlined by the Men's and Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Finals, with the winner of each match earning a world championship opportunity at All In.
Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland will face off for the first time since Forbidden Door 2024, with a chance to headline Wembley Stadium hanging in the balance. The story being told has centered around the Aerial **** assin, but could AEW shock everyone by taking the rivalry in a different direction? Perhaps not, but these are two of the company's biggest stars, and the match should deliver.
Mercedes Moné and Maya World will also go head-to-head in the women’s final. For World, it would mark the culmination of making the most of an opportunity created when Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize left an AEW Collision taping in the fall of 2025. It would be a major upset if she earned a world **** le match at All In, but given the magnitude of this show, it would be a major surprise if Moné didn't win the Owen Hart Tournament for the second consecutive year and punch her ticket to Wembley.

On Tuesday night, before the weekly NXT episode, Shawn Michaels dropped a bomb. NXT Great American Bash 2026 will take place on Sunday, June 28, at 7 PM EST on The CW. “That’s good news!” you’ll say. In fact, no. Once again, it will be one of these crazy weekends for the wrestling fans and writers like me. In fact, WWE NXT adds a PLE to an already stacked day of shows. Yet, on June 27, WWE presents Night of Champions live from Saudi Arabia.
Then comes the “big day”: TNA presents Slammiversary live from Boston, MA, while AEW x NJPW x CMLL x Stardom presents Forbidden Door from San Jose, CA. Plus, now, WWE presents NXT Great American Bash. Before Dave Meltzer said it, we all thought the same: this is not a coincidence. If it’s a mess in my writer’s mind, I can’t imagine what it’s like for the fans.
AEW Forbidden Door was announced on April 15, with tickets on sale on April 27. The 2026 edition is reuniting wrestlers from All Elite Wrestling (AEW), New **** an Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), and World Wonder Ring Stardom. It will air at 8 PM EST on HBO Max and Prime Video. No matches have been announced yet, but Will Ospreay will compete in the Men’s Owen Hart Cup Final. The winner will receive an AEW World Championship match at AEW All In.
TNA Slammiversary was announced on April 9, with tickets on sale on April 29. The 2026 edition of TNA’s anniversary show comes as the company could reveal a full year of live events, live TNA Thursday Night iMPACT and PLEs, something that may have never happened before. It was supposed to air at 8 PM EST on TNA Plus. TNA President Carlos Silva preferred to move the debut hour to 4 PM (3 PM for the Countdown) to “avoid conflicts” with AEW Forbidden Door.
The event is probably the most “built-up” one, even though many things remain to be said and done. Every Championship will have to be defended. The X-Division Championship will be defended in a 6-Man Ultimate X match, including Champion Cedric Alexander and former Champion Leon Slater. A Ladder match is set to happen; it could involve the Hardys and the Righteous. KC Navarro and Xia Brookside became the #1 contenders for the TNA International and TNA Knockouts World Championships, respectively.
