Following an impressive second quarter FY27, Navan Inc. (NASDAQ:NAVN) announced its acquisition of BoomPop, an AI-powered meetings and events platform that has been recognized by Inc. as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Launched in 2023, BoomPop offers end-to-end event management solutions to enterprises, by leveraging artificial intelligence capabilities. Its offerings cover the entire spectrum of event management procedures including venue selection, vendor sourcing, contractual agreement, payments, and more. For Navan, this deal build on an existing alliance between the two entities, which was announced earlier in February. It marks the company's strategic push to expand its footprint across the meetings and events segment, where a large chunk of the spending is still done outside managed platforms.

The BoomPop acquisition follows a persistent enterprise market momentum reported by the company in its second quarter results, allowing Navan to enter into collaborative agreements with several leading companies during the quarter. These included Enbridge, Ingersoll Rand, ****** mins, and Evotec. Navan also concluded the deal to acquire Smartrips, a well-reputed travel management business, with the aim of bolstering its presence across a rapidly-growing Latin American market.
Notably, Navan registered adjusted net income of $14 million during the second quarter compared to an $8 million loss in Q2 FY26. It came at the back of year-over-year growth figures of 39% and 35% for subscription revenue and usage revenue, respectively.
Through full integration of BoomPop's staff and technology, Navan intends to expand its current meetings and events operations, accelerate its product development timeline, and satisfy growing customer interest. The company aims to deliver a more seamless experience covering travel, expense, meetings, and events.

There are few preseason events like Big Blue Madness for Kentucky basketball. It's a hugely popular day on the schedule for fans, who will fill the stands to watch the fans get introduced to this year's roster, and it's almost time to get tickets.
This year's Big Blue Madness will take place on Oct. 2 and 7:00 P.M. at Rupp Arena. Then Fan Fest will be the next day at the Central Bank Center. Tickets, which are free, will go quickly, and now fans know when to acquire them.
Ticketmaster will be handling he distribution of the tickets for Big Blue Madness, and that begins on Friday, Sep. 18, beginning at 5:00 P.M. There is a limit of two tickets per household so that more fans have a shot to land a seat at the festivities.
The 2026 season is a big one for Kentucky. Mark Pope has his best team yet, and needs to compete for an SEC championship, and win some games in March. Another disappointing season will inevitably result in fans calling for his job, as they did last season.
There is optimism, however, and heading into Big Blue Madness, fans will be excited and full of optimism. They'll want to be ready on Friday if they want a first look at the team.

It is confirmed now that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is set to return to the lineup for the team's opening game against the Denver Broncos.
This will be the first time he plays since suffering the ACL/LCL injury against the LA Chargers in December.
The very next day, Mahomes flew to Dallas and got the surgery, which helped him fast-track his recovery.
Although the injury usually takes 9-12 months to recover from, Mahomes managed to get ready enough to even start an NFL game just 9 months into suffering the injury.
Mahomes is a father to three kids, who are all very young. The 30-year-old is regularly spotted with them in public, especially during other sports events.

Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) shed roughly $12 billion in market value after hours on September 4, 2026. The stock declined by about 5% to $415. The reason, as strange as it sounds, is a drug it does not own. Novartis announced that pelacarsen, an Lp(a)-lowering therapy, missed its Phase 3 cardiovascular-outcomes trial, Lp(a)HORIZON. And since Amgen's late-stage ******* et olpasiran relies on the same biological premise, investors immediately marked down Amgen on the negative read-through.
The result strikes at a premise rather than at a product. Pelacarsenhad lowered Lp(a) by roughly 80% in earlier studies. In Lp(a)HORIZON, Novartis said pelacarsen substantially lowered Lp(a), but it still failed to reduce the composite of cardiovascular death, heart attack, stroke, and urgent revascularization. It still could not reduce the composite of cardiovascular death, heart attack, stroke, and urgent revascularization. And now the entire hypothesis that lowering Lp(a), a genetic cardiovascular risk factor, actually cuts events, is being directly challenged. Olpasiran is built on the same hypothesis, leading to the repricing of odds as soon as pelacarsen's data were out.
Amgen's olpasiran, an siRNA, lowered Lp(a) by more than 95% at certain doses in Phase 2, compared with reductions of roughly 80% for pelacarsen in earlier studies. The bull case is that this deeper reduction could help olpasiran deliver better cardiovascular outcomes.. The bull case is that this 15% will help Amgen to make a deeper cut and deliver results. While biologically possible, the Lp(a)HORIZON trial provided no evidence that a clinical threshold exists above an 80% reduction. The topline Phase 3 announcement did not establish that deeper Lp(a) lowering would have produced a cardiovascular benefit. It is therefore appropriate to say that the miss lowered olpasiran's probability of success rather than pretending it is irrelevant. Eli Lilly's lepodisiran is running the same deep-reduction experiment, so the hypothesis will be tested with or without Amgen.
Amgen is not an Lp(a) pure-play. MariTide in obesity, Repatha in cholesterol, and Tezspire in asthma drive more value for the company, and this diversification creates a cushion for the stock, although the selloff ultimately became much larger than the initial 5% after-hours reaction. Positioning has stayed calm since the beginning of 2026. Insider Monkey data shows 66 hedge funds held AMGN in the second quarter of 2026, up slightly from 65 in the first. Short interest, on the other hand, sits at just 2.4% of float, reflecting minimal bets against the stock in the market.

For much of the past year, the "AI trade" has been focused on infrastructure: processors, data centers, and cloud capacity. Snowflake Inc. (NYSE:SNOW)'s blowout quarter, which was reported after the market closed on September 2, provided something unique: clear evidence that AI is translating into real, incremental spending within software companies that are closer to the end customer. The reaction echoed throughout corporate software the next morning, adding to a rally that, for Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) in particular, had already begun for its own reasons.
Snowflake Inc. (NYSE:SNOW) boosted its fiscal 2027 product revenues target to $6.07 billion from $5.84 billion, following a 37% increase in second-quarter product revenue to $1.49 billion. CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy stated that the company's AI products accounted for around half of that growth acceleration, which ****** ysts took as implying that AI demand is increasing Snowflake's core data platform, instead of just adoption of standalone AI add-ons. UBS ****** yst Karl Keirstead said the figures, together with Palantir and Databricks' rapid growth, gave compelling proof of robust enterprise AI adoption.
Snowflake's beat rippled across enterprise software, with ServiceNow, Atlassian, Adobe, Intuit, and Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) all up 3.5% to 6% on the same day, while the sector-wide iShares Expanded Tech-Software ETF rose 3%.
That Snowflake-driven spike was piled on top of a much bigger adjustment made by Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) on its own. The company released its second-quarter fiscal 2027 results on August 26, a week before Snowflake Inc. (NYSE:SNOW), with revenue of $11.35 billion, up 11% year-over-year, with current remaining performance obligations up 14% to $33.5 billion and adjusted EPS of $5.90, exceeding the $3.27 consensus. Along with those results, Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce, an expanded partnership that initially brings Salesforce data, workflows and business logic directly into Claude through a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales skills. The companies plan additional integrations across Claude, Salesforce and Slack. That said, Salesforce recorded $2.61 billion in net gains on strategic investments during the quarter, which added $2.53 per share to non-GAAP EPS.
Taken together, the two events suggest that enterprise AI adoption can increase the value and consumption of established software platforms when AI is connected to existing corporate data and workflows

Travis Kelce is set to play his first game as a married man when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Denver Broncos in a Week 1 "Monday Night Football" matchup.
The question on everyone's mind will be about whether his wife, pop star Taylor Swift, will be in attendance for the game.
Kelce and Swift were married during the NFL offseason. Their wedding was one of the events of the summer, with numerous sports figures and celebrities being in attendance for the event held July 3 at Madison Square Garden.
While the wedding soaked up much of the attention surrounding the couple over the summer, Kelce's focus will now shift toward trying to win a fourth – and perhaps final – Super Bowl with the Chiefs.
Will Swift be in attendance for her husband's game against the Broncos? Here's what to know as the Chiefs play their home opener at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, Sept. 14.

BERLIN (AP) — Germany's federal prosecutor's office said Monday it had filed charges against a German-Ukrainian woman suspected of acting on behalf of Russian intelligence.
The woman, who was only identified as Ilona W. in line with German privacy rules, is accused of having been in contact with a full-time intelligence officer at the Russian Embassy in Berlin at least since Oct. 2023, the prosecutor's statement said.
The defendant ran a marketing agency in Berlin and was also the chairwoman of a lobbying group. As a result, she had an extensive network in military and political circles, prosecutors said.
Over the course of several years, the woman provided the intelligence officer at the Russian embassy with numerous tips about high-profile events and ensured that he could attend them — sometimes under a false name. This was intended to enable him to build his own network for intelligence purposes, the statement said.
To identify contacts and potential targets, she also attended such events herself. Furthermore, the defendant attempted to recruit individuals from the German Ministry of Defense and the defense industry for her own purposes, prosecutors alleged.

Wisconsin congressman Tom Tiffany was on his way home Saturday evening following a demanding day of parades and political events when his plane plunged into the pitch-black darkness of Lake Wausau.
As he was returning from the La Crosse County Lincoln Day Dinner in Onalaska, Wisconsin, Tiffany, the Republican gubernatorial nominee, was aboard a Beechcraft K35 when it lost power as it approached Wausau Downtown Airport, the congressman told reporters during a Sunday news conference.
"Hang on, Tom, and buckle up because we're going to go down," Tiffany recounted pilot Len Bolt warning him moments before the emergency landing.
About 10 seconds later, the plane hit the water.
"We were down to 70, 80 miles an hour at that point, and so it was a fast-moving car crash, and all that happened to me was my head hit the dash in front of me, and that was the extent of the damage," Tiffany said. "We're just really fortunate. We're fortunate the plane didn't flip."

At the Solheim Cup, we watched pros do something difficult that a lot of average golfers attempt, too: play team golf. It's different from typical stroke play, or even one-on-one match play events. Pros, like the test of us, usually play their own ball. But in the Netherlands, they had to play with a partner in foursomes and four-ball. It's a serious change from what they're used to.
Making that shift from playing your own ball to playing a team format might be something you struggle with, too. We talked to Megan Johnston, a Golf Digest Best Young Teacher at Big Cedar who played on the Northern Ireland junior team with Solheim Cup standout Leona Maguire, about how average players can more seamlessly make the transition into team play.
"The biggest adjustment for the average golfer is realizing that the goal of the format may not be to shoot your lowest individual score," Johnston explains. "In four-ball, foursomes or a scramble, you're making decisions based on what your team needs. That changes everything—from club selection, to risk management, to how aggressive you should be at the right times."
This is how Johnston says you should think about these two different team formats.

Nicole Kidman's younger daughter is still rarely seen in public, but the gaps between appearances are getting shorter.
The 59-year-old actor brought 15-year-old Faith Margaret to the U.S. Open in New York on Sept. 11, with the mother and daughter arriving at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center hand in hand before watching the men's semifinals.
Faith has generally maintained a lower public profile than her older sister Sunday Rose, who has already built a modeling résumé. That made the relaxed outing particularly noticeable as Faith walked beside her mother in a polka-dot maxi dress while Kidman traded her recent premiere gowns for jeans, sneakers and a pale blue shirt.
Faith has also joined Kidman at several public events over the past year, appeared with her in a beauty campaign and traveled with her to Australia earlier this month, although most of those appearances have remained tied to her mother's work.
Kidman and Faith attended Day 13 of the tournament at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Friday. E! News reported that the pair entered the venue holding hands before settling in for the men's semifinal action.

This offseason, the Heat witnessed a complete change in its roster. From superstar acquisitions through trade exchanges to top players leaving impressive salaries to join the roster, they saw a major upheaval. However, two players who were unaffected by these events were Andrew Wiggins and Simone Fontecchio.
Both players not only get to continue on the team but were also offered retention; a lifeline offered to only a handful this time. Now, with the next season approaching, the players have to meet high expectations to justify their contracts.
Earlier in the summer, Wiggins exercised the $30.1 million player option for the final year of his contract with Miami. But on June 29, the Heat decided to hand him a two-year, $34 million extension, bringing his term to a three-year, $64 million contract with them overall. He will be getting $16.5 million in 2027-28 and will have the player-option season worth $17.5 million in 2028-29. This is a huge financial security for any player, especially in a team that is aggressively looking to reinvent itself at the cost of its roster.
Wiggins was a dependable starter and brought stability last season, which he needs to continue this year. Wiggins averaged 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.7 ****** ists per game across 68 appearances. Maintaining his distance from defense, the 31-year-old needs to focus on being a high-efficiency 3-and-D wing, a role that saw him shine last year. He knocked down two threes a game at a career-best 41.4% clip in 2025-26.
At his rate, he could surely increase his average and show improvement. For the upcoming season, Wiggins should get perimeter shooting help from Klay Thompson, who he was teammates with in Golden State.

The FedEx Cup Fall is here.
The 2026 Biltmore Championship, a new PGA Tour event in Asheville, North Carolina, kicks off Thursday. The Presidents Cup is set for next week outside of Chicago, but the first Tour event since the season-ending Tour Championship is up. The Cliffs at Walnut Grove will host the tournament. The layout is a par-71 measuring 7,249 yards.
Being a fall event, the purse is significantly smaller than most events from the regular season. The biggest name initially in the field, Justin Thomas, withdrew Sunday, too, but there are other notables set to take on the Biltmore.
Here's a look at the purse and prize money payouts for the 2026 Biltmore Championship, where $5 million is up for grabs in Asheville, North Carolina.
More: PGA Tour fall schedule includes 8 events, international competition, silly season

NEW YORK (AP) — Oprah Winfrey stood alone at the Sphere, attempting to comprehend what she had witnessed after U2's opening night performance in 2023. Mesmerized by the multisensory event, the Queen of All Media had a thought: Could she use the groundbreaking, 4D capabilities of the globe-shaped arena to help others reach their highest potential?
"You could use this technology as a visual, immersive experience to allow people to go deeper for themselves and walk away with a sense of awe and wonder about what it means to be alive," the media mogul, whose empire was built largely by inspiring viewers of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," told The ****** ociated Press. "I know that there's more, and the more could really help people see themselves differently. It has the potential to be an incredible experience of magnificent wonder."
That initial thought became "Oprah Winfrey's AHA," taking place April 2-4 at the Sphere, the $2.3 billion state-of-the-art Las Vegas arena that has hosted performances by The Backstreet Boys, Phish, the Eagles and No Doubt — and a popular "The Wizard of Oz" film experience.
The two-hour live event will feature Winfrey with special guests and performances, including multiple Grammy winner Jacob Collier, poet and author Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet and gospel singer Wintley Phipps. Among all-star collaborators crafting the experience with Winfrey are Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter, Grammy-nominated musicians Jason White and Jon Hopkins, playwright and MacArthur "genius grant" recipient Tarell Alvin McCraney and Es Devlin, the stage designer for Beyoncé's "Formation" and "Renaissance" world tours. Tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 25.
It's been 15 years since Winfrey ended her iconic talk show, which last week celebrated its 40th anniversary of reaching U.S. syndication. She has stayed busy with her podcast, her CEO duties for her namesake OWN TV network, and various tours and live events. At 72, when many are embracing retirement, Winfrey isn't ready to slow down completely.

For Middle Eastern oil producers, there are fewer and fewer places to hide from Iranian violence. And because of that, oil prices are almost certain to stay high.

Extreme weather is creating a more demanding environment for property owners, insurers, and communities. According to the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), the United States recorded 27 confirmed billion-dollar weather and climate disasters in 2024, resulting in a total cost of $182.7 billion. These events spanned a wide range of extremes, including severe storm events, tropical cyclones, wildfires, drought/heat waves, and winter storm/cold wave events. Over the last decade, ***** ulative losses from these disasters have exceeded $1.4 trillion, driven significantly by population growth, material wealth, and increased development in hazard-prone areas. These figures suggest that the financial consequences of extreme events may increasingly depend on how accurately the value of exposed property is understood before a loss occurs.
That question becomes especially consequential during reconstruction. A 2026 report from Bloomberg, featured in Claims Journal, noted that surveys conducted by United Policyholders since 2007 found an average of two-thirds of wildfire survivors reporting that they were underinsured, with an average shortfall of $200,000 or more. The Insurance Information Institute has similarly estimated that two-thirds of American homeowners may be underinsured for wildfire losses, typically by about 20%, and in some cases by as much as 60%. These findings illustrate how the presence of an insurance policy can still leave a substantial difference between available coverage and the resources required to rebuild, particularly when construction costs rise after a catastrophe.
The financial implications can extend across the broader insurance ecosystem. Aon's 2026 Climate and Catastrophe Insight reported approximately $260 billion in global economic losses from natural catastrophes during 2025, compared with $127 billion in insured losses. For property stakeholders, such a figure may place greater attention on the relationship between the value ***** igned to an ***** et, the cost of restoring it, and the capital available when a loss occurs.
Frequency can add another layer to that calculation. Data from NCEI indicate that the average interval between U.S. billion-dollar disaster events was approximately 16 days during 2020–2024, compared with 82 days during the 1980s. NCEI notes that shorter intervals can leave less time and fewer resources for response, recovery, and preparation for subsequent events. As the time between major events contracts, property valuations may require more frequent attention because construction costs, labor conditions, materials, and local economic circumstances can change between policy reviews.

Boston Scientific (BSX) trades at about $43, roughly 17% below the recent high it set on 19th Aug, 2026. Its own history with sharp drops is encouraging. That history does not cover a cyberattack it says is likely to hit its 2026 results, and the stock is down about 60% over the past twelve months. Start with the history.
Since 2010, Boston Scientific has fallen 20% or more inside 30 trading days six times. Four are old enough to have a full year behind them, and all four ended higher twelve months later, at a median gain of 18%. The two most recent are too young to have a one-year result.
Collecting that gain was uncomfortable. Among those four, the median buyer sat through a further 17% decline first, and the worst further fall in the whole record was 44%. The median peak gain of 30% took about 226 days to arrive, close to seven and a half months. Waiting, not timing, is what that history rewards.
The record behind those medians is below.
BSX had 6 events since 1/1/2010 where the dip threshold of -20% within 30 days was triggered

With **** ignments that include calling three of tennis' four major tournaments and ESPN's top college football game weekly through the playoffs, Chris Fowler readily admits he's living the dream.
His weekend travel itinerary, however, hardly seemed the stuff of dreams.
After calling Friday's second U.S. Open semifinal, he was on a private flight that landed in Austin around 3 a.m. Saturday. Following a scant amount of sleep, there was a late-morning production meeting before calling Saturday night's matchup between No. 1 Ohio State and No. 4 Texas on ABC, arguably the top non-conference matchup in college football this season.
Once Saturday's game ends, it's back on a plane to New York for Sunday's 1 p.m. CT men's final on ABC between Alexander Zverez and Blake Shelton, with the latter trying to become the first American man to win a major since Andy Roddick at the 2003 U.S, Open.
"They are my two favorite sports and I get to call the championship events in them," Fowler told the Houston Chronicle on Saturday afternoon during a brief respite in Austin. "So that's a dream job. I live in the dream I had since I'm 10 years old."

Texas senator Ted Cruz, whose attendance at big sporting events hasn't always gone well for the Lone Star State's teams, appeared on College GameDay on Saturday ahead of the Longhorns' home clash with Ohio State.
While we're not sure the reason why, the crowd booed Cruz and heckled him throughout the nearly 10-minute segment with Rece Davis. College GameDay crowds are usually bipartisan and sports-focused, so perhaps the jeering was purely because of Cruz's spotty track record with his teams winning when he attends the games.
We're not sure what exactly caused this, but it's certainly notable whenever a political figure of any party gets such a negative reaction from a crowd like this.
ESPN had Ted Cruz on 'College GameDay' in a conversation with Rece Davis for nearly 10 minutes.
Cruz was heavily booed by the crowd -- and heard "Ted, you suck!" chants -- in Austin. pic.twitter.com/npQesiYMsG
Maybe the Longhorns will still prevail with Cruz presumably in attendance for Saturday night's game, pushing against the fears of the "Ted Cruz curse" that lingers when he's in the stands.
