Valkyries' Gabby Williams shows support for Warriors before WNBA Finals Game 2 appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Golden State Valkyries have been on fire as of late, as their 68-64 win in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals against the Atlanta Dream marks their fifth-consecutive victory in the playoffs — putting them to within just three wins away of a championship in just their second season of existence. At the very least, the Valkyries' existence is keeping the good basketball vibes alive in the Bay Area now that the Golden State Warriors are on the decline.
Game 2 of the Valkyries' Finals clash against the Dream will be on Monday night at 8:00 PM E.T.; during their off-day on Sunday, the Valkyries' biggest star from Game 1, Gabby Williams, was in attendance for the Warriors' open practice ahead of the start of their new campaign on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Utah Royals FC fell 2-0 at America First Field against the Kansas City Current on Saturday evening in front of 10,809 fans, the club's second-highest attendance this season. Unable to secure the victory, the squad will now be forced to wait yet another week to officially clinch its first playoff berth in club history.
While the Royals were unable to earn the result in the battle at home, Real Salt Lake traveled to Kansas City, earning a 3-1 victory to lift itself to a second road win in the 2026 season. The victory earned the visitors an important three points to keep the push for the postseason alive in the doubleheader evening for Utah professional soccer against Sporting Kansas City.
As the Utah Royals took the pitch on Saturday evening the home side was without the heartbeat of its midfield as **** anese star Mina Tanaka was out due to a hamstring injury sustained while on international duty. URFC captain Paige Cronin earned an impressive milestone Saturday against the Current, starting in her 100th NWSL match.
Iron woman Kate Del Fava returned to the pitch following her USWNT debut as a second-half substitute in Tuesday's 2-2 draw against Spain. The defensive wall not only leads the Royals in possessional passes and clearances but, made her 80th consecutive start today, the longest active streak for a single club. Del Fava has played 7,661 straight minutes, the second longest streak in club history while also having played every one of the 7,211 minutes Utah has played as a team in 79 games since the Return to Royalty in 2024.
Real Salt Lake got off to a near perfect start against Kansas City to earn just its second road win of the 2026 MLS season with goals by French attacker Morgan Guilavogui and Spanish Rookie Sergi Solans in under 15 minutes. The score by the Frenchman in the 12th minute marked his third of his first MLS season, while 2026 RSL Golden Boot leader Solans netted an impressive 12th MLS goal of his rookie season to double the visitor's lead.

VANDALIA, Ohio — President Donald Trump rallied Saturday for Republicans in Ohio’s competitive races for Senate and governor, predicting that the party will defy expectations in a choppy midterm election climate.
“I think we’re going to have a big surprise, because they don’t know what’s happening,” Trump said while speaking onstage inside a high school gymnasium near Dayton.
“Just get out and vote,” Trump added. “If you do that, we’re going to win, and we’re going to win big. And we’re going to shove it up their ***** .”
The visit, part of what White House officials have told NBC News will be a push through at least 17 states between now and Nov. 3, was aimed at boosting Sen. Jon Husted and GOP gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy.
Trump, who won Ohio three times by comfortable margins, opened his speech with praise for both before moving into broader remarks to promote himself and his administration. He also offered support for local Rep. Mike Turner and for several House candidates in attendance, including Derek Merrin, the Republican running against longtime Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur in northwest Ohio.

RM for RM x SFMOMA Between You and Me
While many know RM as a member of the global sensation BTS, his fandom, known as ARMY, and those in the art world know another side of him: RM, real name Kim Namjoon, is an art collector – and now curator.
He, alongside exhibition co-curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, is now ready to show his personal art collection in RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me.
Over the past few years, museums have faced low attendance, lost federal grants, and reduced funding. Museums have had to strategize what exhibitions people want to see, how to increase membership, and how to introduce art to the masses. Castillo says there have been more projects that the museum has taken on that have "pushed that boundary, even within their section of the art world." She had previously worked on a project called "Art of Noise" that focused heavily on music.
"It was the accumulation of those moments within the art world [that] there might actually be an appetite," Castillo states. "Then there was an internal opening, calling for ideas, and I just didn't hesitate saying, 'We should work with RM'."

Federal student loans are, for many students, the best option for covering postsecondary education and related expenses.
With fixed interest rates, clear grace periods and forbearance options, federal loans offer predictable repayment schedules.
Some borrowers may even qualify for loan forgiveness under Public Service Loan Forgiveness, income-driven repayment plans or the Teacher Loan Forgiveness program.
Though federal student loans have benefits compared to private loans, consider any borrowing carefully before committing to a debt.
If you don't have cash on hand to completely cover the cost of attendance for college — around $38,000 per year on average, according to the Education Data Initiative — you're not alone. More than 42 million borrowers have federal student loan debt.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Pop superstar Taylor Swift was back at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night, and sitting alongside Tom Cruise, to watch new husband Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs open the NFL season against the Denver Broncos.
It was the first time Swift has seen Kelce play since they were married over the summer.
The 14-time Grammy Award winner decided to skip the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, though it wasn't necessarily a big surprise. Even though "The Eras Tour: The Final Show" was nominated for outstanding variety special (pre-recorded), the category winner already was announced at the Creative Arts Emmys earlier this month, with "The Muppet Show" taking top honors.
The Emmys had fun with the possibility of Swift's attendance, airing a recorded bit where the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" cast, led by host Mariska Hargitay, is trying to figure out whether she will be there. Swift herself appears at the end, though not as herself.
"Maybe she'll do one those cool, pre-taped sketch things to support the host," Swift's character says.

Travis Kelce is set to play his first game as a married man when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Denver Broncos in a Week 1 "Monday Night Football" matchup.
The question on everyone's mind will be about whether his wife, pop star Taylor Swift, will be in attendance for the game.
Kelce and Swift were married during the NFL offseason. Their wedding was one of the events of the summer, with numerous sports figures and celebrities being in attendance for the event held July 3 at Madison Square Garden.
While the wedding soaked up much of the attention surrounding the couple over the summer, Kelce's focus will now shift toward trying to win a fourth – and perhaps final – Super Bowl with the Chiefs.
Will Swift be in attendance for her husband's game against the Broncos? Here's what to know as the Chiefs play their home opener at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, Sept. 14.

VIENNA (AP) — Iran on Monday condemned the exclusion of the head of its Atomic Energy Organization from the annual gathering of the United Nations nuclear agency in Vienna saying that it constitutes "a serious breach" of Tehran's rights as a member nation.
"By obstructing our full and effective participation, the denial of access contravenes both the letter and the spirit of the legal framework" governing attendance at meetings of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran's ambassador to the agency, Reza Najafi, told delegates at its general conference.
Najafi criticized Austria, the host country of the IAEA and other U.N. organizations, saying that Vienna's decision not to grant a visa to Mohammad Eslami "violates the host country's obligation."
The Russian ambassador to the U.N. in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, echoed Iran's remarks, saying that Austria had "grossly violated" its obligations as host nation of the IAEA.
Western nations had "unleashed a genuine campaign of visa-related abuses so as to settle scores with countries they deem to be undesirable," he said.

The energy outside Cipriani, in Lower Manhattan, across from the Charging Bull statue on Broadway, seemed conspicuously suspended in a different time. It was as if crossing the threshold into the Financial District sent me back a decade, to the genesis of this current generation's cultural aesthetic—to the lines at VFiles, the SoHo clothing store whose Howard St. storefront once served as epicenter of the nascent fusion of the worlds of streetwear, hip-hop, and high fashion. All of this was because Kai Cenat, the popular Twitch streamer and content creator, was making his runway debut. The fashion show for his brand Vivet's first collection drew a crowd of the current generation's innovators, giving a reminiscent feeling to the last time a popular figure came crashing through the gates of mainstream fashion.
In attendance that night were popular streamers like Jasontheween, Rakai, and Duke Dennis, alongside more traditional celebrity names: Jaden Smith, Luka Sabbat, Lauryn Hill (!). Popular fashion podcasters and journalists from the New York Times filtered through the crowd as well. It reminded me of the pre-pandemic days of fashion week pop-ups in the shadow of Ye's YZY Szn launches, when the crowds outside seemed as consequential as whoever had a seat inside. Social media had given a generation of streetwear obsessives and aspiring artists a way to build their own audiences, and fashion was beginning to accommodate them. At Cipriani, the streamers had brought another audience into the room.

The stars weren't out in the night sky just yet Saturday at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium, but there were some sightings on the sidelines.
In one of the biggest Texas football games of the season against Ohio State, celebrities, politicians and Texas Exes came to Austin and were spotted throughout the sidelines. Earlier in the day, ESPN "College GameDay" featured Sen. Ted Cruz, who was booed by the Longhorn faithful and Austin native; movie star Glen Powell as the guest picker on the show.

Of course, other Austin celebrities were out and about - what is a night game at DKR without Longhorn superfan Matthew McConaughey. He also brought out his friend and "True Detective" co-star Woody Harrelson who was seen chatting with athletic director Chris Del Conte. Gov. Greg Abbott was there, too.
Then there were the sports legends of the school in attendance. Former men's basketball player and current Houston Rocket Kevin Durant was seen throwing crisp spirals and chatting with former football head coach Mack Brown. Former running back Ricky Williams and quarterback Colt McCoy were also spotted as well as former Texas volleyball player Madisen Skinner.

The following NFL teams will have reps present at Ohio State - Texas tonight:

• Eagles
• Cowboys

Texas senator Ted Cruz, whose attendance at big sporting events hasn't always gone well for the Lone Star State's teams, appeared on College GameDay on Saturday ahead of the Longhorns' home clash with Ohio State.
While we're not sure the reason why, the crowd booed Cruz and heckled him throughout the nearly 10-minute segment with Rece Davis. College GameDay crowds are usually bipartisan and sports-focused, so perhaps the jeering was purely because of Cruz's spotty track record with his teams winning when he attends the games.
We're not sure what exactly caused this, but it's certainly notable whenever a political figure of any party gets such a negative reaction from a crowd like this.
ESPN had Ted Cruz on 'College GameDay' in a conversation with Rece Davis for nearly 10 minutes.

Cruz was heavily booed by the crowd -- and heard "Ted, you suck!" chants -- in Austin. pic.twitter.com/npQesiYMsG
Maybe the Longhorns will still prevail with Cruz presumably in attendance for Saturday night's game, pushing against the fears of the "Ted Cruz curse" that lingers when he's in the stands.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz joined the set of ESPN's "College GameDay" on Saturday morning in Austin to push landmark legislation to regulate college sports ahead of the Texas Longhorns' highly anticipated matchup with the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.
He did not receive a warm welcome.
Cruz, clad in a burnt orange blazer, was consistently booed by the raucous crowd of Longhorns faithful throughout his nine-minute interview, with fans breaking into chants of "Ted, you suck" and "Get him off."
He did not acknowledge the jeers, which came on a campus that gave the senator less than 20% of the vote in his 2024 re-election. The Chronicle has reached out to Cruz's office.
Cruz was in attendance to push the Protect College Sports Act, a bill he co-authored with Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Washington. The legislation is scheduled for a vote in the Senate next week.

Jalen Brunson took a break from basketball on Friday to catch one of the biggest tennis matches of the year. The Knicks point guard was spotted in the stands at Arthur Ashe Stadium for the all-American US Open semifinal between Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton, seated near longtime Knicks superfan Ben Stiller as the two Americans battled for a spot in Sunday's final.
Brunson and Stiller were part of a star-studded crowd that packed Flushing Meadows for the occasion. Tennis legend Serena Williams was in attendance, as were actors Salma Hayek and Rami Malek, along with US women's soccer star Trinity Rodman, who is Shelton's girlfriend. The atmosphere matched the stakes, with an American guaranteed a spot in the championship match regardless of the outcome.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., were lambasted Friday for appearing to share a moment of levity at the 9/11 Memorial in lower Manhattan during the solemn reading-of-the-names of victims.
Mamdani was already facing criticism from some 9/11 victims' families over his attendance when a television feed showing the reading of victims' names cut from a young man sobbing at the memorial to the mayor and congresswoman appearing to grin and laugh as they spoke, though their conversation was inaudible.
"Disgraceful," said Steve Guest, a former top staffer for Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. "AOC and Mamdani look happy."

The 2026 Venice Film Festival runs from September 2 to September 12, 2026, with A-listers like Kendall Jenner and Robert Pattinson in attendance.
Stars traditionally hit the red carpet in couture gowns, statement-making pieces, and custom tuxedos.
InStyle looks back at the festival's best fashion moments, dating all the way back to 1958.
The 83rd Venice International Film Festival is officially underway. Film junkie or not, you can't deny that Hollywood's finest arrive in Italy ready to bring their best-dressed game. After all, when you're surrounded by your peers competing for some of the industry's highest honors, why wouldn't you dress the part? C'mon. First held in August 1932, the Venice Film Festival has long been one of the industry's most glamorous events, welcoming everyone from Jane Fonda to Lady Gaga over the decades. I'd argue the red carpet is a spectacle all its own, with our favorite fashion houses playing a starring role.
From the water-taxi arrivals to the actual carpet, celebrities often use Venice to offer a glimpse at fashion's next era, stepping out in fresh-of-the-runway Chanel, Dior, Versace, and more. Robert Pattinson, for instance, pulled up in Dior 2027, while Timothée Chalamet famously tested the waters in a daring backless ensemble. Or Zendaya in that Dune-coded Balmain look in 2021? And of course, we have to pay our respects to the style icons who came before them—ahem Jane Birkin—who brough their signature effortless staples to the Lido.

Today is the day of the first on-ice activity for the Colorado Avalanche in the 2026-27 season. A group of 25 rookies are gathering at Family Sports Center at 9:00 a.m. for a one-day practice before they head off to San Jose, Calif. for the annual rookie tournament.
Late last week the roster was announced which features almost as many defensemen (8) as forwards (13). The only two players with NHL experience expected to attend are forwards Nikita Prishchepov and Taylor Makar, though several others on this list could see their NHL debut soon. All eyes will be on goaltender Ilya Nabokov and forward TJ Hughes who might even make an impact on the Avalanche this year.
It's nice to see five of the nine members of the 2026 Avalanche draft class in attendance including including forwards Beckett Hamilton and Shawn Carrier, defenseman Ondrej Ruml and goaltenders Alexandre Raymond and Tobias Tvrznik,
Those prospects playing in the NCAA or Europe this season are not listed and were not expected to attend rookie camp or Avalanche training camp. However, it is curious the class headliner, 43rd overall Egor Shilov is missing especially since he has chosen to spend one more year in the QMJHL with Victoriaville. But, there is a clue from those who cover the Canadian junior leagues that ongoing visa issues are to blame.
Translated from Quebec journalist Matthew Vachon this reads:

Ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor once faced unexpected resistance from a royal family aide. Despite losing his prince **** le and royal honors, the palace staffer's actions reportedly left the disgraced royal shocked. King Charles later revoked Prince Andrew's royal status as the monarchy faced continued backlash over his ties to convicted **** offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Former Buckingham Palace press secretary **** ie Arbiter has recalled a never-before-heard clash with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
During his appearance on the Daily Expresso podcast, Arbiter revealed that he rejected one of Andrew's demands during a royal garden party. He later hung up on the ex-prince after the ousted royal slammed the phone down on him.
The episode unfolded at Buckingham Palace during the Lambeth Conference, the decennial summit of Anglican bishops. Around 100 clergy in crimson robes were in attendance when Andrew rang Arbiter with an idea for a picture.
The former palace official shared, "He phoned me up one day during a garden party at Buckingham Palace and said, 'Get some chairs out because I've got a good idea for a photograph.' There were about 100 priests in their crimson frocks at the garden party, and he thought it would make a good picture of the Queen with all the clergy around her. I just said, 'No, it's not your garden party.'"

Real Madrid, fresh off the back of Tuesday's victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League, are back in La Liga action on Saturday, as Jose Mourinho's side host Rayo Vallecano in a local derby at the Bernabeu. However, it is not the only major sporting event in Madrid this weekend, with the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix taking place at the Madring circuit for the first time.
The city of Madrid has been eagerly awaiting this moment ever since it has announced that the Formula 1 would be switching from Barcelona to the Spanish capital. There is a lot of excitement, although Real Madrid themselves are far from enthused about the event, which will be taking place in close proximity to their Valdebebas training ground.
In the build-up to a match day, Real Madrid would ordinarily be training in front of the media, before Mourinho hosts his press conference at Valdebebas. However, this will not happen on Friday, with MD reporting that enforced changes have been made due to the Spanish Grand Prix taking place this weekend.
Real Madrid have already had to deal with noise from the Madring circuit as a result of testing being done in the lead-up to this weekend's Formula 1 Grand Prix, and they will have to withstand it again on Friday. However, the first 15 minutes of the session will be held behind closed doors, which is the first change that has been enforced upon the club.
The biggest change to the club's pre-matchday plans affects Mourinho. Rather than speaking to the media at Valdebebas, his press conference will now take place in the Bernabeu's press room, which is far from ideal for him and the journalists in attendance, although this adjustment has been considered necessary due to the fact that noise from the Madring circuit would have a major effect on the presser.

LONDON (AP) — The NFL will play a record nine games internationally this season and they include three cities hosting for the first time: Melbourne, Australia; Rio de Janeiro; and Paris.
Jacksonville and San Francisco both play two games abroad: the Jaguars back-to-back in London; the 49ers in Melbourne and later in Mexico City.
Here's some handy information about the games and locations.
The NFL's first international game of the season might be hard to top attendance-wise. Mike Evans, Demarcus Robinson and Deebo Samuel caught touchdown passes from Brock Purdy, and the San Francisco 49ers routed the Los Angeles Rams 27-7 in the NFL's first regular-season game in Australia. There were 100,021 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the game, the seventh-largest regular season crowd in NFL history. It was the second-largest international NFL match by attendance, topped only in October 2005 when the 49ers lost 31-14 to the Arizona Cardinals before 103,467 fans at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
The league had never staged a regular-season game so far from home — it's a nearly 16-hour flight from the U.S. West Coast. The NFL West matchup kicked off at 10:35 a.m. local time Friday, Sept. 11, in Melbourne — which was 8:35 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 on the U.S. East Coast.

Bridgerton's first leading lady, Phoebe Dynevor, has said "I do" herself after marrying fiancé Cameron Fuller on Saturday, September 5, according to a report from The Sun.
The actress who famously plays Daphne Bridgerton in Netflix's Shondaland hit is poised to continue her romantic streak onscreen with the streamer's highly anticipated adaptation of Emily Henry's Beach Read. When it comes to Dynevor's own fairytale, her nuptials reportedly took place at Le Mas de Poiriers, an 18th-century farmhouse in Provence, France.
The property, which accommodates up to 250 guests, spans 65 acres, and among the crowd celebrating Dynevor and Fuller's big day were her mother, Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor, and her sister, Hattie. It's unclear if any of Dynevor's Bridgerton costars were in attendance at the shindig. The insider source for The Sun revealed that the event "ended up being absolutely perfect."
Dynevor and Fuller began dating in 2023 before becoming engaged to be married in 2024, when it was confirmed during her red carpet appearance at the Met Gala that year. The wedding follows Dynevor's "hen do," a.k.a. bachelorette party, which took place in August at the Broadwick Soho.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly worried about daily school runs for their kids, Archie and Lilibet. Although the Sussexes returned to the UK on August 26, they have seemingly come back without securing taxpayer-funded security. A close friend of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has reportedly voiced concern about daily school runs for their kids on the couple's behalf. A friend dished to The Telegraph: "It is absolutely the biggest area of concern. It creates the most dangers." Although the Sussexes returned to the UK on August 26, they have seemingly come back without securing taxpayer-funded security. It has understandably fuelled concern for the anxious parents about their children's safety.
According to the outlet, Archie and Lilibet's school has already been notified of their attendance. Not only that, teachers are already mandated to follow specific instructions. Additionally, the school is required to follow certain rules and procedures for maintaining the children's protection.
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are reportedly awaiting a definite response regarding their taxpayer-funded security from the UK's Home Office. According to the outlet, the couple would like to know if they are eligible for police protection now that they are residing in Britain. Notably, the Sussexes were previously denied protection rights during visits to the UK.
Scott Hamer, a former Metropolitan Police royalty and specialist protection officer, showed his support for the Duke of Sussex. He told the outlet: "If there is a credible threat to him and his family, it should be objectively ****** sed. If there is a genuine risk, the state should provide protection. If not, that's fine, but let him know."
