JNJ and PG both trade at 21x forward earnings, but J&J's 46% payout ratio versus P&G's 62% signals stronger long-term dividend coverage.
P&G carries a $1.4 billion after-tax earnings headwind into fiscal 2027, while J&J has already absorbed its Stelara biosimilar competition.
J&J's 10-year share price gain of 181% nearly doubled P&G's 117%, with management targeting double-digit earnings growth by decade's end.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) orProcter & Gamble (NYSE:PG): If someone saving for retirement could hold only one Dividend King for the next 20 years, which one should it be? My pick is Johnson & Johnson, and the gap is wider than the yields suggest. Both stocks trade near 21 times forward earnings (P&G at 21), so valuation is effectively a tie. The decision comes down to three things that matter more to a retiree: dividend coverage, durability and structural risk.

Broyhill **** et Management, a Charlotte-based firm, issued its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, which is available for download here. The Broyhill Equity Composite gained 8.8% in Q2, trailing the MSCI All Country World Index's 15.1% and the MSCI ACWI Value Index's 10.8%. For the first half, the Composite returned 2.3%, versus 11.5% for the Index. The letter highlights that a significant portion of the shortfall occurred in April due to market dynamics and geopolitical events, with tech, particularly semiconductors, driving recent gains. Broyhill notes its lack of direct semiconductor exposure but acknowledges potential interest in the sector if opportunities arise, maintaining its investment philosophy focused on capital protection in fragile market conditions. Also, check the fund's top five holdings to see its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Broyhill **** et Management highlighted Rentokil Initial plc (NYSE:RTO). Rentokil Initial plc (NYSE:RTO) has a market capitalization of $11.2 billion, and its stock has traded within a 52-week range of $22.24 to $34.67.
Broyhill **** et Management stated the following regarding Rentokil Initial plc (NYSE:RTO) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Rentokil Initial plc (NYSE:RTO) declined 9%. North American pest organic growth of 2.8% was entirely price, and customer retention remains near 80%. Our thesis is that the significant valuation discount to peer Rollins (almost half at the end of the second quarter) narrows as the Terminix integration is delivered."

Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) shed roughly $12 billion in market value after hours on September 4, 2026. The stock declined by about 5% to $415. The reason, as strange as it sounds, is a drug it does not own. Novartis announced that pelacarsen, an Lp(a)-lowering therapy, missed its Phase 3 cardiovascular-outcomes trial, Lp(a)HORIZON. And since Amgen's late-stage ******* et olpasiran relies on the same biological premise, investors immediately marked down Amgen on the negative read-through.
The result strikes at a premise rather than at a product. Pelacarsenhad lowered Lp(a) by roughly 80% in earlier studies. In Lp(a)HORIZON, Novartis said pelacarsen substantially lowered Lp(a), but it still failed to reduce the composite of cardiovascular death, heart attack, stroke, and urgent revascularization. It still could not reduce the composite of cardiovascular death, heart attack, stroke, and urgent revascularization. And now the entire hypothesis that lowering Lp(a), a genetic cardiovascular risk factor, actually cuts events, is being directly challenged. Olpasiran is built on the same hypothesis, leading to the repricing of odds as soon as pelacarsen's data were out.
Amgen's olpasiran, an siRNA, lowered Lp(a) by more than 95% at certain doses in Phase 2, compared with reductions of roughly 80% for pelacarsen in earlier studies. The bull case is that this deeper reduction could help olpasiran deliver better cardiovascular outcomes.. The bull case is that this 15% will help Amgen to make a deeper cut and deliver results. While biologically possible, the Lp(a)HORIZON trial provided no evidence that a clinical threshold exists above an 80% reduction. The topline Phase 3 announcement did not establish that deeper Lp(a) lowering would have produced a cardiovascular benefit. It is therefore appropriate to say that the miss lowered olpasiran's probability of success rather than pretending it is irrelevant. Eli Lilly's lepodisiran is running the same deep-reduction experiment, so the hypothesis will be tested with or without Amgen.
Amgen is not an Lp(a) pure-play. MariTide in obesity, Repatha in cholesterol, and Tezspire in asthma drive more value for the company, and this diversification creates a cushion for the stock, although the selloff ultimately became much larger than the initial 5% after-hours reaction. Positioning has stayed calm since the beginning of 2026. Insider Monkey data shows 66 hedge funds held AMGN in the second quarter of 2026, up slightly from 65 in the first. Short interest, on the other hand, sits at just 2.4% of float, reflecting minimal bets against the stock in the market.

To align long-term incentives, HPE issued stock warrants to Oracle.
Following the announcement, Wall Street delivered fast price target hikes: Barclays' Tim Long raised HPE's target by $12 to $79 (Overweight), citing server upside and robust margins, while Morgan Stanley's Sanjit Singh boosted Oracle's target by $3 to $210 (Equal Weight), noting a tactically positive setup driven by GPUaaS demand.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (NYSE:HPE) and Oracle both delivered strong results, although Oracle operates at a significantly larger scale. GAAP diluted EPS reached $1.06, while strong execution led management to raise full-year FY26 revenue growth guidance to 34%-37% and its free cash flow target to at least $3.75 billion.
Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL), meanwhile, ended fiscal 2026 with record Q4 revenue of $19.2 billion, up 21% year over year, and full-year revenue of $67.4 billion, up 17%. Houston, Texas-based Chevron Corporation (CVX) is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies, with operations spanning oil and natural gas exploration and production, refining, marketing, chemicals, and lower-carbon energy. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Chevron operates across the U.S. and numerous international markets. The company has a market cap of $364.5 billion.
Companies with a market capitalization of $200 billion or more are typically referred to as "mega-cap stocks." CVX fits right into that category, with its market cap exceeding this threshold, reflecting its substantial size and influence in the integrated oil and gas industry. A major strength of Chevron is its vertically integrated and geographically diversified portfolio. The upstream business provides significant exposure to oil and gas prices, while refining, marketing and chemicals operations can provide earnings diversification when commodity prices or refining margins move in different directions.

Jim Cramer has spent months giving mixed signals on Axon Enterprise, Inc. (NASDAQ:AXON). While he regularly praises the company's law enforcement products, he has repeatedly warned that the stock costs too much. That caution finally turned into a pass during the August 6 episode of Mad Money when a caller asked about buying the post-earnings pullback:
No, no, I don't want to touch it. It's only down 8%, but it's been an amazing performance for so many years. The stock's had too big a run; I want to move elsewhere.
Before telling investors to look elsewhere in August, Cramer had flagged valuation and competitive friction earlier in the year. During the May 15 episode of Mad Money, a caller asked about a long-term position held since 2015. While acknowledging a strong management presentation that lifted the shares that day, Cramer pointed to lingering hurdles:
Well, they had, you know, Axon was on today. I thought they acquitted themselves, which is why I think why the stock was up three bucks. I have been, we were very worried about Motorola competition when we met with them when we were up at Harvard Business School. I am still concerned about that, and I still think that this market does not like high multiple stocks, and Axon is a high multiple stock.
Cramer expanded on that valuation tension during the June 3 episode. When a shareholder asked whether to buy more, sell, or hold, he advised maintaining the existing position strictly on product quality, while warning that the price-to-earnings multiple left little room for error:

Corning (GLW), best known to many investors as the maker of Gorilla Glass, had increasingly been revalued as an important supplier to the AI buildout thanks to its optical connectivity business. Its shares fell as much as 20% intraday on July 28 after the company reported second-quarter results. That is one of the sharpest single-day declines in years for a name that had become a high-conviction proxy for AI infrastructure spending.

O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory, an investment advisory firm, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. During Q2 2026, the market experienced notable dispersion between perceived AI losers and winners. The firm has made investments early in AI infrastructure companies, which yielded gains during market repricing. The second quarter experienced strong equity rallies, with the S&P 500 gaining 15.2% and the Nasdaq 21.4%, marking the best quarter since Q2 2020. While the software sector faced challenges, with the iShares Software ETF dropping ~27% before a rally, reflecting high volatility. This volatility is seen as an opportunity, despite the potential for 'dead money' in underperforming stocks. The firm remains cautious, focuses on owning durable businesses at reasonable prices, holding cash, and hedging risks to navigate unpredictability. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory highlighted Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (NYSE:HCC). Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (NYSE:HCC) is a non-thermal metallurgical coal producer. On July 27, 2026, Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (NYSE:HCC) stock closed at $80.66 per share. One-month return of Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (NYSE:HCC) was -0.62%, and its shares gained 52.30% over the past 52 weeks. Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (NYSE:HCC) has a market capitalization of $4.26 billion.
O'Keeffe Stevens Advisory stated the following regarding Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (NYSE:HCC) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (NYSE:HCC): Unsurprisingly, a commodity-producing company's stock experienced Signiant volatility during the quarter. Had the quarter ended one month prior, it's possible we would have been talking about Warrior as a top performer during the quarter. On May 23, 2026, a gas explosion at a coal mine in Shanxi province killed 82 workers, making it China's deadliest coal mining accident since at least 2009. The blast occurred at the privately owned Liushenyu mine in the coal-belt region of Shanxi, and a deadly gas explosion occurred at the Liushenyu Coal Mine in Qinyuan county with 247 workers underground; all four coal mines under Tongzhou Group suspended operations following the incident, driving met coal prices higher. Blue Creek remains the next leg of the story. Increasing production and sales volume at this mine should drive revenue and EPS growth, even in the face of an overall weaker met coal pricing environment."

The stock market took a beating this week as the major AI and chipmaking names dropped. Having propped up the market for months — even years — the AI industry dragged it down this past week.
However, that didn't stop these five companies from showing resilience.
Payments player Flywire got a boost from an offer to acquire its competitor PayPal. International Seaways gained on the back of renewed tensions in the Middle East. Snowflake (SNOW) is among a handful of software names standing out.
The trucking juggernaut J.B. Hunt continued its superb run this year with strong earnings. In addition to its own individual successes, investors could consider J.B. Hunt the quintessential "HALO trade" stock, used to hedge against AI.
Finally, chip-gear maker ASML largely bucked the AI sell-off on strong earnings and guidance.
