DETROIT — His college career unfrozen by a judge, Orlando Lovejoy is headed to the frozen tundra.
Lovejoy, who starred for Detroit Mercy men's basketball the last two seasons, has committed to fellow Horizon League program Green Bay for his fifth and final season of eligibility.
Lovejoy was among hundreds of college athletes from the high-school class of 2022 who were granted a fifth season of eligibility through temporary restraining orders from judges across the country. The NCAA recently announced a five-year eligibility window, starting with the high-school class of 2023.
Lovejoy, 23, was one of the top point guards in the Horizon League the last two seasons, and in 2025-26, he was first-team all-league as he led the **** ans to within a whisker of the league tournament championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Lovejoy, a Detroit native, started all 31 games for Detroit Mercy in 2025-26, and was top 10 in the league in scoring (15.8 points), **** ists (3.7) and steals (1.6). He made free throws at an 89.2% clip.
Lovejoy spent his first two college seasons at Eastern Michigan, before transferring to Detroit Mercy after the school hired Mark Montgomery as head coach. He contemplated transferring after his first season at Detroit Mercy to capitalize on NIL opportunities, but he ultimately returned to the **** ans and led them to the Horizon League championship game, in which they led much of the game before falling to Wright State, 66-63.

Royalty Pharma plc (NASDAQ:RPRX) disclosed that pelacarsen failed the Phase 3 Lp(a)HORIZON cardiovascular-outcomes trial conducted by Novartis AG (NYSE:NVS). The randomized, double-blind study enrolled 8,323 patients with elevated lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), and established cardiovascular disease.
Pelacarsen lowered Lp(a), but the study did not meet its primary endpoint of reducing cardiovascular events compared with placebo in the overall population. The endpoint combined cardiovascular death, nonfatal heart attack, nonfatal stroke, and urgent coronary revascularization requiring hospitalization. Complete results have not yet been presented.
Royalty Pharma plc (NASDAQ:RPRX) provided Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:IONS) with $500 million in January 2023. The transaction allocated $150 million to pelacarsen royalties and $350 million to Spinraza royalties. The clinical failure shifts the financial focus from uncertain pelacarsen upside to recovery through Spinraza.
Royalty Pharma plc (NASDAQ:RPRX) acquired 25% of the Spinraza royalties received by Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:IONS) through 2027. That share increases to 45% in 2028 on Spinraza annual sales of up to $1.5 billion.
Following the HORIZON result, the Spinraza interest will revert after aggregate payments to Royalty Pharma plc (NASDAQ:RPRX) reach $550 million, equal to 1.1 times the original funding. Management expects the structure to recover the entire investment and generate a modest positive return despite the clinical failure.

The Tennessee **** ans made the first somewhat surprising pick of the 2026 NFL Draft when they selected former Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate with the number four overall pick. With his first NFL game on the horizon, CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson believes he was worth the fourth overall pick for the **** ans.
Tate was drafted with the expectation that he can become a foundational piece of the offense and a long-term number one target for second-year quarterback Cam Ward. That might be a lot to ask from a rookie, but everything about the situation suggests the **** ans had a plan.
The biggest question surrounding the **** ans' selection was whether Tate's talent will eventually justify taking him fourth overall. Including Tate, only five wide receivers (six if you include Travis Hunter) have been selected in the top five of the NFL Draft since 2015.
Excluding Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter, former **** ans WR Corey Davis had the worst rookie season of those top five selections with 375 yards and 0 touchdowns. So, it made sense why **** ans fans, specifically, may have had concerns about the Tate selection.
However, a strong training camp has many anticipating his NFL regular-season debut. Tate doesn't need to immediately become one of the best receivers in the NFL for the pick to be successful, but Tennessee needs to see enough flashes to believe they have found a long-term offensive cornerstone.

On August 27, AstraZeneca PLC (NYSE:AZN) and Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) scored a shared clinical victory. Positive high-level results from the Phase III CROSSING trial showed that their co-developed severe asthma drug, TEZSPIRE, achieved statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements across both co-primary endpoints, histologic remission and the frequency/severity of dysphagia, and all key secondary endpoints at week 24 in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis. These benefits were sustained through week 52 across both tested doses, accompanied by a safety profile consistent with its approved indications. While CROSSING highlights their joint R&D success, a closer look at their standalone financial performance reveals distinct growth trajectories.
Both pharmaceutical giants delivered solid Q2 2026 results, but AstraZeneca is showing stronger overall financial momentum. AstraZeneca PLC (NYSE:AZN)'s Q2 revenue increased 6% year over year to $15.38 billion, supported by its Oncology franchise, which grew 18% in H1 to $14.12 billion, and its Rare Disease portfolio, which increased 13%. Core EPS rose 21% to $2.63, beating expectations, while management reaffirmed its full-year 2026 outlook for mid-to-high single-digit revenue growth and low double-digit Core EPS growth.
Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) reported Q2 revenue of $10.1 billion, up 10% year over year, while non-GAAP EPS increased 4% to $6.29. Although its key growth products advanced 26%, mature products faced significant biosimilar pressure, with Prolia revenue declining 32% and XGEVA falling 34%. Amgen nevertheless raised its 2026 revenue guidance midpoint to $39.4 billion.
Overall, AZN holds the financial edge due to stronger EPS growth, broader portfolio momentum, and less exposure to the biosimilar erosion affecting AMGN's mature products.
Amgen's bull case is supported by robust growth in key products, which increased 26%, and $3.5 billion in Q2 free cash flow, providing substantial capital flexibility. Wells Fargo raised its Amgen price target to $435 from $400 on September 4, citing potential upside from HORIZON and pipeline ****** ets such as olpasiran. New Phase III VESALIUS-CV data also showed Repatha reduced the risk of death by 20% in high-risk adults without a prior heart attack or stroke, with heart attack risk reductions emerging as early as six months. However, accelerating biosimilar competition affecting legacy franchises such as Prolia and XGEVA remains a key risk to sustained margin expansion.

On August 11, Humana Inc. (NYSE:HUM) announced that its Medicaid plan, Humana Healthy Horizons in Indiana, is collaborating with HealthStream, Inc. (NASDAQ:HSTM). The partnership expands access to workforce training for caregivers, aiming to recruit and retain talent in rural and underserved communities. While one provides healthcare coverage and the other builds the software to train healthcare workers, both companies are capitalizing on the industry's critical focus: solving caregiving shortages and optimizing healthcare delivery.
HealthStream emerges as the operationally cleaner, higher-growth performer, while Humana continues to navigate a more complex transition marked by regulatory and profitability pressures. Humana Inc. (NYSE:HUM) reported Q2 2026 GAAP EPS of $5.73 and adjusted EPS of $7.61, with an Insurance segment GAAP benefit ratio of 91.2%. The company reaffirmed its full-year adjusted EPS guidance of at least $9.00 but lowered its FY 2026 GAAP EPS forecast to at least $6.52 from $8.36, reflecting non-cash adjustments and value creation charges. Although individual Medicare Advantage membership is expected to grow approximately 25% in 2026, lower Star Ratings remain a significant drag on profitability.
HealthStream, Inc. (NASDAQ:HSTM), meanwhile, delivered record Q2 2026 results, with revenue rising 12.5% year over year to $83.7 million. Operating income increased 41.4% to $8.3 million, while net income climbed 23.8% to $6.7 million, or $0.23 per diluted share. Adjusted EBITDA also increased 16.9% to $20.6 million. The company's debt-free balance sheet, supported by $66.7 million in cash and cash equivalents, further strengthens its financial flexibility. While Humana operates at substantially greater scale, HealthStream is demonstrating stronger operational leverage, margin expansion, and balance sheet flexibility.
Humana's bull case is supported by strong Medicare Advantage membership growth, with the company targeting a 25% increase in 2026, alongside strategic expansion of its CenterWell primary care business and state Medicaid footprint, including its recent Illinois win. These initiatives could strengthen its long-term recovery and expand its addressable market. However, the bear case centers on elevated medical benefit ratios, which reached 91.2% in Q2, as well as regulatory pressures in Medicaid and continued Medicare Star Ratings headwinds. These factors could further squeeze margins and weigh on net earnings.

CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) dealt with significant headwinds after the COVID-19 pandemic. The company's financial results suffered as sales of coronavirus-related products (such as diagnostic tests) declined, while expenses in its insurance business rose substantially, resulting in lower profits and margins. However, CVS Health has done a good job of addressing those problems, and the stock has rebounded. Shares are up 31% over the past 12 months. Wall Street thinks there may be even more upside on the horizon. CVS Health's average price target is $116.04 (according to Yahoo! Finance), implying a meaningful 20% upside from current levels. Is now a great time to buy the stock?
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Over the past 18 months (or so), CVS Health has implemented several initiatives that have helped improve its business. For instance, the company closed dozens of stores, many of which were unprofitable. The pharmacy chain specialist also scaled back its insurance division, notably by exiting the Affordable Care Act marketplace. The results have been pretty impressive. Consider the company's second-quarter results. CVS Health's revenue increased by a healthy 7.3% year over year to $106.1 billion.
Adjusted earnings per share were $2.58, 42.5% higher than the year-ago period. Note the improvement in CVS Health's healthcare benefits segment, which offers health insurance services. Operating expenses as a percentage of revenue declined slightly to 12.4%, down from 12.5% in the prior-year quarter, even as revenue grew 3.5% year over year. And operating margins within this unit came in at 5.8%, up from the 2.8% reported in the year-ago period. Also, CVS Health's medical benefits ratio -- the percentage of insurance premiums the company spent on medical care (the lower the better) -- declined to 87.4% in the second quarter, down from 89.9% in Q2 2025.
CVS Health also increased its guidance for the full fiscal year 2026. The company now expects its adjusted EPS to fall between $7.90 and $8.10, up from its previous range of between $7.30 to $7.50. The company is also now projecting cash flow from operations of at least $11.5 billion, up from the previous lower bound of $9.5 billion. These are signs of a much-improved business.

On a cold November morning, designer Isaac Mizrahi gets up, leaves his apartment, and trudges to the corner newsstand to pick up a copy of Women's Wear Daily. It's the day after Mizrahi's Spring/Summer 1994 show, and the ink on the reviews is still wet. Reading from the pages, he quotes, "'His usually great color sense failed him, his fabric sense failed him, and certainly, his sense of how a modern woman dresses after 8 p.m. failed him." The verdict is withering. Mizrahi, one of the great artists of '90s ready-to-wear fashion, has been tossed out. Disgraced. Lightly "cancelled," as some might call it these days.
Douglas Keeve's sublime 1995 documentary, "Unzipped," follows Mizrahi in the aftermath of a train wreck, piecing his reputation back together with his next collection, attempting to make something beautiful from the rubble. We find Mizrahi's world in grayscale, drained of color in the wake of critical and cultural failure. Then, the opening notes of Sandra Bernhard's 1994 cover of Sylvester's "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" cue the pigmentation, cascading over bright images of models in fittings, garments hanging from racks, and plenty of DayGlo faux furs. In her version, Bernhard alters the lyrics to pay tribute to Sylvester, whose untimely death left an immense legacy. "Sylvester, sister," Bernhard coos, "You were so beautiful, you were so fragile, you were so . . . real."
But just before Bernhard finishes the word, the song fades to silence, as if to say that realness — genuine authenticity in your life and work, at the cost of criticism — will always be snuffed out before it can be fully appreciated. That is the price of beauty. What is up must always come down.
(Janus Films) Isaac Mizrahi in "Unzipped"
After years in cinematic obscurity — the film hasn't been readily available outside of the eBay market in decades — "Unzipped" will return to theaters later this month, with a loving 4K restoration from Janus Films, just as another fashion-world controversy is heating up. Earlier this week, the Metropolitan Museum of Art declared it would no longer proceed with its Costume Institute's upcoming exhibition honoring John Galliano, scheduled to debut next year. When the scrapped "John Galliano: Horizons" was announced in July, the exhibition was immediately met with an outpouring of criticism. Detractors accused the museum of being tone deaf, citing a 2011 video of Galliano going on a drunken antisemitic and racist rant at a Paris bar, for which Galliano was promptly ousted from his spot as creative director at Dior. Following the video surfacing, Galliano apologized, went to rehab, and, over the last few years, experienced a brand resurgence that some would call a whitewashing.

John Galliano has canceled his Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibit, saying in a statement shared Monday (Aug. 31) that he remains "fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past."
In the statement, which comes amid mounting criticism against the designer, Galliano expressed gratitude to Anna Wintour and others involved with staging the exhibit, but conceded that the planned project should not move forward.
"After much reflection and discussion with all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time," Galliano said Monday, in part. "I remain fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past, particularly the hurt I caused to the Jewish and Asian communities, and I remain deeply sorry. I understand that meaningful atonement is not achieved through an exhibition, institutional recognition, or a single public gesture. It is a continuing responsibility, demonstrated through listening, learning, and one's conduct over time."

The planned exhibition, ******* led John Galliano: Horizons, had previously been slated to open in May of next year. In addition to Galliano's personal statement, Max Hollein, who serves as director and CEO of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, also shared a confirmation of the cancelation.

Ameresco insiders have been buying into a steep decline instead of waiting for the chart to improve. Form 4 filings show open-market purchases of roughly $1.9 million since August 7, including about $738,000 over the latest one-week sequence. CEO George Sakellaris accounted for approximately $574,000 across several purchases. Directors Brian ***** , Jennifer Miller, and Joseph Sutton also bought shares of Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE:AMRC). The cluster spread the bullish signal across four insiders rather than one executive.
The timing is interesting because the stock had fallen about 28% over six months. Ameresco develops energy infrastructure, including efficiency projects, renewable ***** ets, battery storage, and power systems that can support data centers. Its opportunity is not to predict which AI model wins. It is to help customers build the electricity and resilience those models require. Second-quarter revenue rose 9.1% to $515.5 million, showing that the operating business was still expanding during the selloff.
Insider buying is a useful signal, but it is not a guarantee. Executives may have long time horizons, personal tax considerations, or confidence that does not translate into near-term returns. Ameresco's projects carry construction, financing, customer-concentration, and execution risk. Diluted EPS of $0.18 fell 25% year over year in Q2, demonstrating that higher revenue does not automatically deliver better profitability. Large AI-related power awards can also produce uneven working-capital needs before cash arrives.
The hedge-fund picture was weaker than the insider activity. Insider Monkey tracked 17 hedge funds holding Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE:AMRC) in Q2, down from 22 in Q1. Millennium Management sharply increased its position by 490% to 1,487,282 shares, however, making the quarter more nuanced than the falling holder count suggests. One large buyer can coexist with broad caution.
Short positioning reinforces that caution. At the August 14 settlement, 4.51 million shares were sold short, equal to about 15% of the reported float and 5.36 days of average volume. The insider cluster suggests people closest to the company see value after the decline. A durable rebound still requires Ameresco to turn AI-power demand and project awards into margins, cash flow, and a balance sheet investors can underwrite without heroic ***** umptions.

Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) has faced several issues in recent years that have weighed on its share price. First, the company's coronavirus business isn't nearly as strong as it once was. Second, Pfizer is racing toward important patent cliffs, including that of Eliquis, an anticoagulant. Third, the pharmaceutical giant has faced clinical setbacks with otherwise promising pipeline candidates, including some it acquired. This problem has led to billions in impairment charges. Because of these headwinds (and others), Pfizer's shares have lagged broader equities over the past two years and have hovered below $30 apiece. Is it finally time to invest in the company? Let's see whether there is a rebound on the horizon.

Let's start with Pfizer's recent second-quarter update. The company's revenue increased by 1% year over year to $15 billion. While that top-line growth doesn't look impressive, it beat ***** yst estimates. On the bottom line, Pfizer's adjusted earnings per share were $0.77, slightly lower than the $0.78 reported in the prior-year quarter. Here too, Pfizer beat expectations. And it's important to highlight what drove the revenue and earnings beat.
The company noted that non-COVID revenue increased 5% year over year, while sales from launched and acquired products jumped 18%. This is great news for Pfizer. It suggests that newer (and acquired) products will help pull sales in the right direction over the medium term, while older medicines, especially within its coronavirus business, continue to lose steam.
Even with the progress Pfizer is making with relatively new launches, upcoming patent cliffs will be a major problem for the company. Consider, for instance, that Eliquis was the drugmaker's best-selling therapy during the second quarter. Pfizer's revenue from Eliquis came in at $2.4 billion, up 21% year over year. So, it arguably remains its single most important growth driver. Pfizer will have to launch more new drugs to fill the gap Eliquis will leave behind as it faces generic competition by the end of the decade. Can the company pull it off? My view is that it can.

TD's aim to open 100 U.S. branches by 2028 is "a today strategy," not simply a revival of branch expansion plans shared in 2023, U.S. executive Allison Robinson said Wednesday.
The Canadian bank said last week it intends to open 100 branches in the U.S. by the end of 2028, as it purses organic growth. The lender also plans to hire more retail and commercial bankers, U.S. CEO Leo Salom said during the bank's fiscal third-quarter earnings call Aug. 27.
In May 2023, Toronto-based TD shared plans to open 150 U.S. branches by 2027, with a focus on the Southeast – just a few weeks after its proposed $13.4 billion acquisition of Memphis, Tennessee-based First Horizon was terminated. At the time, TD circled south Florida, Atlanta and North Carolina as targeted areas for branch expansion.
But as the bank tackled anti-money laundering issues and was hit with a related $3.09 billion penalty and $434 billion ******* et cap on U.S. retail operations, those branch opening plans slowed "dramatically," then-CEO Bharat Masrani acknowledged in 2024. TD has also closed about 91 branches over the past two years, Salom said last week.

USA Rare Earth (NASDAQ: USAR) is a critical minerals specialist that went public through a merger with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. II in March 2025. The company saw some volatile trading in the months immediately following its debut, but it went on to hit a lifetime high in October of that year following reports that the company was discussing a potential partnership with the White House and rumors that the U.S. government could take a stake in the business.
In January 2026, USA Rare Earth actually did announce that the U.S. government was establishing a roughly 10% ownership stake in the company that could expand to 16% with the exercise of warrants -- but its share price has still fallen far below the high it hit last year. As of this writing, the stock is down roughly 53.5% from that valuation peak. In other words, a $10,000 investment made in the stock at that point would now be worth roughly $4,650.
Continue »
While the U.S. government's desire to increase its ability to source critical minerals domestically and reduce its dependence on minerals from China presents a potentially powerful catalyst for USA Rare Earth's business, the company is still in a relatively early stage of expanding its operations. Along those lines, the company generated just $11.5 million in revenue across the first half of this year. Meanwhile, the mining and processing player has a market capitalization of roughly $4.4 billion.
The company's move to acquire Brazilian rare-earth specialist Serra Verde in a roughly $2.8 billion deal should dramatically expand USA Rare Earth's sales footprint and earnings potential, but the deal being primarily funded with stock also means that shareholders will see significant dilution. USA Rare Earth has growth opportunities on the horizon that could help it bounce back and climb well above its past valuation peak, but investors should approach the stock with the understanding that it's a speculative bet.

Football season is on the horizon, and for the Oklahoma Sooners, it starts on a Friday.
Norman Public Schools and the University of Oklahoma already announced in-person class closures for that day due to expected heavy traffic, so it's safe to say anyone going to the game may want to plan ahead.
OU released a new game day driving maps and recommended protocols to improve traffic flow in Norman, particularly around the stadium. The map was developed alongside the Norman and OU police departments.
The map shows preferred routes to multiple parking lots and road closures.
Here is what OU recommends fans do to avoid delays and reduce stress.

Paddy Donovan insists he is not "underestimating" Tyrone McKenna before they meet at Croke Park on Saturday with a second crack at world honours on the horizon.
Donovan bounced back from his first ******* le defeat by Lewis Crocker with an impressive victory over Karen Chukhadzhian in May to return to the mandatory slot for the IBF welterweight ******* le held by Australia's Liam Paro.
The Limerick man is aware of the risks in taking a fight in the interim, but felt this was too good an opportunity to turn down and plans to put on a show to elevate his status.
He and McKenna have sparred countless rounds over the years and the 27-year-old, whose record is 15 wins with two defeats, feels he is a level above his fellow southpaw.
"It's risky to take the fight being number one with the IBF but I couldn't turn down the opportunity to fight in front of 80,000 Irish fans," Donovan said at Thursday's news conference.

A possible family conversation could be on the horizon for Prince Harry and Kate Middleton. However, the Princess of Wales is reportedly determined not to put herself against Prince William. It is speculated that Harry's return to the UK could bring him into closer contact with the family after years of separation. Now, a source claims the Duke of Sussex sees Middleton as someone who could help reopen a line of communication.
Prince Harry is allegedly hoping to reconnect with Kate Middleton as he settles into spending more time in the UK. According to a source cited by Closer Online, he sees her as someone who may be more willing to listen. With Prince William still apparently unwilling to speak with him, Harry could turn to Middleton as a possible bridge.
The timing is significant. Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to Britain with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after six years away in California. The family is said to be establishing a longer-term presence in the country. That could make future encounters with the wider Royal Family more likely.
For years, Harry and William have largely kept their distance. Their strained relationship has continued despite the "Spare" author making efforts to improve his bond with his father, King Charles. Now, with Harry back in the UK, avoiding each other could become increasingly difficult.
That is reportedly why Harry wants to approach Middleton. A source claims he sees her as a "more reasonable" person who could help maintain a line of communication. Still, the insider acknowledges that putting her in the middle would be uncomfortable.

Michigan women's basketball guard Brooke Quarles Daniels had an excellent journey in her four years of college basketball.
The 5-foot-7 guard from Macomb, Mich. played two years at Oakland, averaging 12.8 points, 2.9 ****** ists and 2.2 steals per game while named to the All-Horizon League Second Team twice, as Freshman of the Year in 2023. Then, she transferred to the Wolverines, representing her home state for two seasons that took her from a defensive sparkplug off the bench to a senior veteran leader, standout defender on a national scale and an Elite Eight starter.
Quarles Daniels was second in the Big Ten with 2.4 steals per game in conference play, averaging 5.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 ****** ists and 2.1 steals per game alongside a 1.7 ****** ist-to-turnover ratio in her final season for Michigan.
"Brooke, she's one of the hardest workers on the team, and she's given us literally everything she could possibly give to our team," junior guard Olivia Olson said March 30 following the Elite Eight loss. "With defense and just pressing all the time and just being a leader for our team, like she's really given everything. So it kind of just was like that, 'This is how you're going to go out. You're going to go out doing the same thing as you always have.' "
But now, thanks to an Aug. 18 ruling, Quarles Daniels isn't necessarily going out just yet. As part of a California lawsuit to gain extra eligibility, Quarles Daniels was among a group of Class of 2022 athletes who, via court ruling, were allowed to enter the transfer portal, entering the portal that same day, and committing to South Carolina on Aug. 28.

Week 1 of the NFL season is on the horizon and we're about to enter the REAL start of the college football season this weekend. But it's not too early to peek at the talent expected to hear their names called in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Here is my first big board, ranking players Nos. 1-31 and a list of 10 to watch who could break into the mix later this season. Why 31 instead of 30? You'll see why I gave both of those ranked players, each quarterbacks, some shine.
Manning is an excellent athlete with size. He plays with a proper timing on plays when working from the pocket, but he can also throw consistently on the move and has the toughness and core strength to get any throw off no matter his platform or how muddy the pocket is or how he is getting hit. He has a good arm that he unlocks because of his creativity, ability to anticipate and willingness to push the football down the field. Manning's quick throwing motion unlocks underneath throws and he already has advanced feel in the pocket. He constantly keeps his eyes downfield, which allows him to get the ball off and avoid sacks, turning negative plays to positive, or even explosive ones.
His progression as a player was overlooked last year after an early-season loss to Ohio State and Texas having to gut out several wins, but his play, along with his tools, indicated a future No. 1 draft pick despite what looked like lackluster performances. There's a lot of hype, but he looks like he's worth it.
A force of nature at receiver, Smith has been a standout player and absurdly productive at every level of his career. He is strong, explosive, and has an excellent build that allows him to bounce off tackles and constantly eat up yards after the catch. His power as a player makes him dangerous on in-breakers that allow him to build up speed and get downhill in a hurry, and his speed and burst out of breaks make him dangerous. Even without pristine route refinement, Smith is still dominant. It's hard to compare any athlete to Julio Jones, and welp, here we are with Smith. At worst you're looking at a Josh Gordon-like player.

IREN trades down 6% year to date while NBIS surged 150%, creating a contrarian entry if Roberts delivers Horizons 2-4 on schedule.
Customer prepayments funded 96% of IREN's Microsoft GPU capex, a capital-efficiency signal masking a $684M GAAP loss tied to scrapped mining hardware.
Nebius landed four contracts averaging over $1 billion each and holds $37 billion in obligations, but three customers generate 59% of its revenue.
Act now: the ******* yst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Nebius Group didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.
IREN Limited (NASDAQ:IREN) and Nebius Group (NASDAQ:NBIS) just reported earnings that read like two chapters of the same AI buildout. IREN is closing a Bitcoin-to-AI pivot. Nebius is stacking billion-dollar contracts on a full-stack cloud. One quarter looked painful. The other looked pristine.

Barclays now expects the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates at its September and December meetings, reversing a prior forecast of no changes through the remainder of the year, after Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh delivered a hawkish address at the annual Jackson Hole symposium last Friday, according to Reuters.
The Wall Street brokerage described Warsh's speech as "notably hawkish" and said it offered an implicit case for further tightening, according to Reuters. Each of the two projected increases would amount to 25 basis points. The Fed's benchmark federal funds rate currently stands at a target range of 3.5% to 3.75%.
Barclays did note that near-term monthly inflation prints are likely to look considerably cooler than the longer-horizon gauges Warsh cited, but warned that base effects would undercut any apparent improvement in those annual measures before December. Traders are **** igning a 60.4% probability to a September hike, CME Group's FedWatch tool showed.
Warsh's Jackson Hole address, his first keynote at the event as Fed chair, drew significant market attention as his clearest opportunity to fill what had been a deliberate communications void since he took office in May. Warsh told the symposium that policymakers would "have work to do" if they lacked confidence that inflation was returning to the Fed's 2% target. In his remarks, Warsh cast inflation as unacceptably elevated, judged prevailing financial conditions to be doing too little to restrain demand, and described the labor market as operating at or near full employment.
Warsh reinforced his opposition to providing explicit forward guidance, declining to spell out the conditions that would trigger a policy response. "I stand here today committed to a discipline, not to a decision," he said. He acknowledged that this summer's inflation readings came in better than expected but said they did not show meaningful improvement in underlying price trends. The 2-year Treasury yield climbed following the remarks, and traders raised the odds of a September rate increase.

The recent scandal surrounding the Met Gala's decision to honor John Galliano with a Costume Institute retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art has left many in a complicated position.
In late August 2026, the exhibition, ******* led "John Galliano: Horizons," was canceled. Galliano later issued a statement regarding the cancelation: "After much reflection and discussion with all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time. I remain fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past, particularly the hurt I caused to the Jewish and Asian communities, and I remain deeply sorry for it."
