TORONTO (AP) — Kahleah Copper scored 27 points, Valeriane Ayayi had a career-high 20 and the Phoenix Mercury beat the Toronto Tempo 89-80 on Saturday in a game in which both teams were without a top player.
Phoenix played without Alyssa Thomas, who was suspended one game by the WNBA for “recklessly making contact with her fist to the throat area” of Indiana’s Caitlin Clark in the Mercury’s 111-109 victory on Wednesday.
Toronto’s Marina Mabrey was a late scratch due to neck spasms, one game after tying the league record with 53 points in a 125-97 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.
DeWanna Bonner finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Copper made two free throws and Bonner followed a 3-pointer to put Phoenix (7-13) up 78-73 with 4:07 remaining.
Bonner drilled another 3 for an 83-77 advantage and then missed from distance. However, Copper grabbed the rebound and scored for an 85-80 lead with 51 seconds left. Phoenix coach Nate Tibbetts won a challenge that reversed a foul on the Mercury nine seconds later to help preserve the victory.

The Brooklyn Nets are coming off a disappointing 20-62 record in the 2025-26 NBA season that ultimately gave them the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Brooklyn is likely going to improve the roster as much as possible over the course of this offseason and it seems like they are targeting a former top-10 pick.
"Brooklyn keeps coming up as a likely suitor, too, for the Lakers' Rui Hachimura, league sources say," NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported Saturday on The Stein Line. The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to bring back as much as possible of their roster from last season, but forward Rui Hachimura could fall through the salary-cap cracks.
"The Nets and Spurs are two teams we've heard have interest in adding Hachimura's services," Stein and Fischer continued. "While the Spurs are also faced with resolving Harrison Barnes' future as the veteran forward heads to unrestricted free agency."
Hachimura, 28, is coming off a solid season for the Lakers as he averaged 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 51.4% from the field and 44.3% from behind the three-point line. While the Lakers showed his value as a shooter and scorer, Los Angeles prioritized re-signing Austin Reaves and is likely hoping to re-sign forward LeBron James in free-agency.
In other news, the Nets have also shown interest in Cleveland Cavaliers guard Keon Ellis as he enters free-agency following an interesting year for the veteran. "Keon Ellis, meanwhile, appears less likely to stay in Cleveland … unless the Cavaliers lose Wade. One anticipated landing spot for Ellis is Brooklyn," Stein and Fischer reported.

NASCAR is gearing up for the 20th race weekend of the 2026 season at Sonoma Raceway, and the O'Reilly Series is bound to put on a show. In 2025, Connor Zilisch beat Shane van Gisbergen for his third win of the year. Now, the sport will head to Sonoma with a substantial amount of money on the line.
The purse for the O'Reilly Series race at Sonoma will be $1,653,590 on Saturday afternoon. NASCAR doesn't release the earnings for the winning driver anymore, meaning it's impossible to tell how much of the $1,653,590 will go toward the team in victory lane. Last year, the purse for Sonoma sat at $1,651,939, which is roughly a $2,000 increase.
It will be fascinating to see which NASCAR driver will earn the most money at Sonoma this weekend. Zilisch is looking to go back-to-back in the race at Sonoma, but van Gisbergen and William Sawalich had good cars in 2025. Sonoma always puts on a show, and this weekend should be no different.

The 2026 24 Hours of Spa have taken a dramatic turn. The AF Corse #51 Ferrari, shared by Alessio Rovera, Tommaso Mosca and Nicklas Nielsen, has surrendered the race lead after dominating the opening stages. A tyre failure roughly four and a half hours into the race abruptly ended its stint at the front.
From the very start, the Ferrari looked untouchable. Even minor time penalties failed to threaten its advantage, while successive safety-car interventions repeatedly erased the gaps it had built. Around 30 minutes after the latest restart, disaster struck when the left-rear tyre suddenly deflated exiting the Bus Stop chicane. According to the official live stream, a tyre pressure warning was issued before.
It marks the second major setback for an AF Corse Ferrari in the Pro Cup. Earlier in the race, the sister #50 Ferrari narrowly avoided losing the lead lap after Arthur Leclerc spun into the tyre barriers, damaging the rear of the car.
The Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo was later forced to continue back to the pits at reduced speed, but a safety-car period after three and a half hours prevented it from being lapped.
The first retirement in the Pro Cup has also been confirmed. The #17 GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Maxime Martin, Maximilian Götz and Luca Stolz saw its race come to an end, capping off a disastrous weekend that had already begun with all of its qualifying lap times being deleted.

D1Baseball included Florida right-hander Aidan King and shortstop Brendan Lawson on its All-America Second Team Thursday. Lawson made it as a designated hitter.
Despite King being left off the College Baseball Foundation's list earlier this week, he is a unanimous All-American after being named one by the five major publications: The American Baseball Coaches ***** ociation, Baseball America, D1Baseball, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers ***** ociation and Perfect Game.
King became the first Florida underclassman to win SEC Pitcher of the Year and fourth in conference history, after finishing the 2026 season with eight wins, a 3.21 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP over 97 innings. Opposing batters hit just .218 against him. King struck out 92 batters and walked 19, giving him a 4.84 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He also had eight quality starts, including six in SEC play.
It's Lawson's second All-America nod, after being recognized as a Second-Tearmer by Baseball America. Lawson's 1.210 OPS, .511 on-base percentage and .699 slugging percentage led the team, as did his 32 extra-base hits, 19 home runs, 68 runs, 130 total bases and 53 walks.
Caden McDonald is the Gator left off this list. McDonald received a First Team nod from the CBF earlier in the week and made the Baseball America, NCBWA and Perfect Game Second Teams. The trio earned 11 total All-America honors.

Worthington resident Cory Fidler hit a once-in-a-lifetime golf shot during his work league round at Mental Memorial Golf Course in Columbus on June 25, his accomplishment even rarer than a hole-in-one.
Fidler is a project manager for the Ohio Department of Transportation and an 11.2 handicap. On the third hole, a par 5, he made his miraculous second shot from about 240 yards out for an albatross.
An article from the PGA in 2021 states that the odds of a golfer finishing a single hole three strokes under par are between one-million-to-one and six-million-to-one. The odds for an average golfer to make a hole-in-one are closer to 12,500 to 1, according to the National Hole-in-One Registry.
Playing from the white tees, Fidler was 513 yards from the hole on his tee shot. After landing in the rough with an imperfect lie, Fidler said he typically would lay up to the green. The golf cart's rangefinder read 243 yards from the pin.
"My golf partner is in the cart with me [and] is kind of razzing me to go for it," said Fidler. "So I pulled out the 3-wood. It was a little uphill stance, but hit it well. Not the best shot I've ever hit, but it was hit pretty well and right at the flag."

Lions cornerback Terrion Arnoldallegedly crossed the line in an effort to recover property that had been stolen from him. He now stands to lose millions, if he's convicted on eight total charges relating to an armed robbery and kidnapping in Florida. Or if he's simply ordered to remain behind bars while the case proceeds to trial.
Obviously, the biggest loss would be his freedom — for however long he is incarcerated. Arnold's status as a 2024 first-round pick makes it a very expensive proposition to be unavailable to play during either of the final two years of his rookie deal.
The slotted first-round contract he signed in 2024 has a total value of $13.343 million. He's due to make $2.098 million in 2026 and $2.75 million in 2027.
Arnold, who has strongly denied the allegations, also received a signing bonus of $7.251 million. The Lions could recover half of that amount ($3.6255 million), if he's not available for the next two seasons. If he misses all of 2026, he'd owe $1.812 million.
To recover a portion of Arnold's signing bonus, the Lions will need to resist the temptation to void his guarantees and cut him. The Falcons, for example, kept Mike Vick on the roster throughout his incarceration for dogfighting in order to later recover a portion of his signing bonus. Once a player is released, the ability to collect unearned signing-bonus amounts evaporates.

In the last 24 hours, it has been confirmed that Nico Paz will not be returning to Real Madrid this summer. On Thursday, Los Blancos activated the €9m buy-back clause in their agreement with Como, but within a day, they agreed a deal for the Serie A side to retain his services on a permanent basis to the tune of €60m.
An immediate profit of €51m is very good news for Real Madrid, who have already spent €80m this summer on Marc Cucurella (€60m) and Denzel Dumfries (€20m), on top of free transfers Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva. The money coming in from Paz can be put towards his Argentina teammate Enzo Fernandez, who is Jose Mourinho's top target to strengthen the midfield in his squad.
Not only have Real Madrid made a huge profit on Paz, they have also managed to retain a buy-back clause in the new agreement with Como. Next summer, they will be given the chance to definitively return him to the Bernabeu for €80m, and according to Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, they are already planning to activate this.
Right now, the feeling within Real Madrid is that Paz is worth in excess of €80m. The sale to Como for a reduced price of €60m has allowed them to retain control over the 21-year-old's future, and there is chances for his value to grow further given that he will have a lot more prominence at the Serie A side than if he had returned to the Bernabeu, where he would not have been counted on much by Mourinho.
Real Madrid will certainly be keeping a keen eye on Paz's development at Como during the 2026-27 season, and barring any surprises, it appears that they will sign him back next summer.

We look forward to the close of the acquisition in the second quarter and believe strong fundamentals could drive the stock from here."

AMLP yields 7.78% on pipeline partnerships, delivering ~$7,000 on $100K, while RIC-structured MLPX yields just 4.18% with no fund-level corporate tax.
AMLP's C-corp structure accrues a permanent deferred tax liability against NAV, and roughly 95% of its distributions face ordinary income tax rates.
Don't wait: the ****** yst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just revealed his top 10 AI stocks. See the full list FREE now.
Cash yields keep slipping further this year. The Fed has cut the funds rate by 75 basis points over the past year to 3.75%, the average 12-month CD pays just 1.65%, and the 10-year Treasury sits at 4.51%. That backdrop is why the Alerian MLP ETF (NYSEARCA:AMLP) keeps drawing buyers chasing income. AMLP yields 7.78% on a portfolio of pipeline partnerships, pays quarterly, and issues a 1099 instead of the K-1 forms that scare retail investors away from owning MLPs directly. The yield case is real. The vehicle case is weaker than most AMLP holders realize.
This particular fund holds the largest U.S. midstream master limited partnerships in roughly equal weights, with top positions including MPLX at 12.76%, Sunoco at 12.26%, Western Midstream at 12.24%, Enterprise Products Partners at 12.23%, and Energy Transfer at 11.39%. These businesses collect fees for moving oil, gas, and natural gas liquids through pipelines and terminals, which helps insulate their cash flow from short-term swings in commodity prices. The fund's most recent distributions were $1.03 in May 2026 and $1.01 in February 2026, putting the trailing annual payout near $4.02 per share. If you put $100,000 into this fund at the low end of its recent yield band, you would be looking at roughly $7,000 in annual cash income, which is well above anything you would get from a mainstream cash equivalent right now.

We just covered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness Reveals Its 10 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks. Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR) ranks #7 (see Situational Awareness Top 5 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks).
Situational Awareness Stake Value: $29,751,243
Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR) is a Bitcoin miner founded in 2021 that is now pivoting toward AI cloud services. What makes it stand out from its peers is its vertical integration strategy. Instead of buying mining hardware from third parties, Bitdeer designs and manufactures its own proprietary SEALMINER chips and machines. This gives it control over its supply chain, cost structure, and deployment pace.
However, Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR) has not yet announced a major anchor tenant deal the way peers have. IREN landed a $9.7 billion five-year contract with Microsoft, TeraWulf secured a $3.7 billion 10-year deal with Fluidstack, and Hut 8 signed a $7 billion 15-year Google-backed deal with Fluidstack. The absence of that kind of headline deal is believed to be the primary reason Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR) has lagged peers on price action over the past year.
On the Q1 earnings call, management said the AI cloud customer mix has shifted toward three- to five-year enterprise contracts, which supports a more durable and predictable revenue stream going forward and reduces the risk that high GPU utilization is just a short-term spike.

1051 ET – The dollar strengthens while Treasury yields decline as markets react to Fed policy and easing geopolitical tensions. The Fed sounded surprisingly hawkish last week, fueling expectations of at least one and maybe two interest rate increases this year which would support the greenback. “The dollar’s spot price could continue to react to the near-term risk of rate hikes,” Naga.com’s Frank Walbaum says. Meanwhile, falling oil prices reduce inflation fears, weighing on yields. The Fed’s pledge to keep fighting inflation reassures markets that rates will fall after a potential tightening, Walbaum says. The WSJ Dollar Index rises 0.3%. The 10-year Treasury yield is at 4.416%, after reaching 4.5% overnight. (paulo.trevisaniwsj.com; ptrevisani)
1306 GMT – The euro’s decline against the dollar is likely to slow at the very least, Societe Generale’s Kit Juckes says in a note. The euro falls to a one-year low of $1.1324, according to LSEG data, following a recent increase in Federal Reserve interest-rate rise expectations and a paring of tightening bets for the European Central Bank. The euro has broken below the range of $1.14 and $1.20 it has been in for the majority of the past year, Juckes says. This could limit how much further the euro can fall, he says. “Fed and ECB expectations have been reset, and we need fresh economic data to drive the next leg of the move.” (renae.dyerwsj.com)

Enphase Energy (NASDAQ:ENPH) is one of the 15 AI Stocks ***** ysts Are Watching: Microsoft, Nvidia, and More.
The data center power market holds significant opportunity, and Enphase Energy is one name that could benefit from it. On June 18, Barclays ***** yst Christine Cho upgraded the stock from Underweight to Equal weight with a price target of $51.00 (from $30).
In particular, Barclays upgrade reflects opportunity for Enphase in solid-state transformers, or SSTs. The firm estimates that this could represent an estimated $2 billion annual US market by the late 2020s.
The investor note pointed out that hyperscalers are migrating to 800-volt direct-current power architectures to support denser server racks. This could make SSTs a core component of the power system and replace or displace traditional transformers.
Unlike legacy hardware, SSTs resemble inverters in functionality – leveraging active power conversion and control – which plays directly to ENPH's technical strengths.

On June 22, Citizens ***** yst Andrew Boone reiterated a Market Outperform rating on the stock with a $515.00 price target.
Even though Citizens reiterated a positive rating, its commentary is solely focused on the risk ***** ociated with talent leaving for competitors. The firm noted how former Character.ai founder and current VP of Engineer at Google, Noam Shazeer, is leaving Alphabet to join OpenAI.
The firm particularly highlighted how Alphabet had paid $2.7 billion to license Character.ai's technology, giving them access to both the technology and team. However, Shazeer's reported switch to OpenAI reflects how even such arrangements don't necessarily guarantee an important employee's stay over the longer term.
Looking back, the bear case on Google from two to three years ago was that it would lose talent to OpenAI and Anthropic and would not be able to catch up in AI development. The ***** yst continues to monitor executive movement for that reason.

Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU), an AI-focused memory and storage chipmaker, closed at $1,051.77, down 13.18%. The stock fell sharply as a South Korea-led memory-chip selloff hit SK Hynix and Samsung, spilling into U.S. memory names ahead of Micron's June 24 earnings report.
S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) fell 1.43% to 7,365.46, while the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) lost 2.21% to 25,587. Among semiconductor memory and storage devices peers, as the broader chip group digested the same global selloff.
Micron shares declined sharply following a South Korea-led memory-chip selloff that affected SK Hynix, Samsung, and U.S. memory companies, just one day before Micron's fiscal third-quarter earnings report. While the recent Anthropic agreement highlights continued demand for Micron's memory and storage products in AI infrastructure, Tuesday's drop demonstrated how quickly market sentiment can shift after a major AI-memory rally.
The upcoming earnings report is critical, as investors will seek confirmation that HBM demand, DRAM and NAND pricing, gross margin, and fourth-quarter guidance are strong enough to meet high expectations. The key question is whether Micron can convert AI infrastructure demand into sustained revenue and margin growth, given that the recent sector selloff already reflected significant optimism in memory stock prices.

The Cubs simply couldn’t afford to wait any longer.
After adding both Edward Cabrera (hamstring/adductor) and Ben Brown (neck) to the 15-day injured list on Wednesday, the Cubs struck a late-night deal, bringing in left-handed pitcher David Peterson from the New York Mets. In return, Chicago sent infield prospect Cole Mathis to the Mets.
Peterson, 30, should enjoy a short commute to join his new club. The move was first reported by ESPN shortly after the Cubs swept a day-night doubleheader in Queens against the Mets on Wednesday night.
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the lefty thus far in 2026, sporting a 6.09 ERA in 68.0 innings over 16 appearances, including eight starts. His peripherals, however, tell a bit of a different story. Despite his — and the Mets’ — struggles this season, Peterson has induced groundballs 51.1 percent of the time, sports an xFIP of 4.05 and is just two years removed from a 2.90 ERA in 121.0 innings.
For as much as the club would love to unlock that 2024 version of him, the Cubs don’t even need Peterson to become a top-of-the-rotation starter. This is about weathering a torrential storm and being able to field a full rotation. Peterson — whose contract runs through the end of the season — helps with that for now.

Chelsea are aiming to rebuild their defensive line under new manager Xabi Alonso this summer.
The Blues want to add at least one central defender to their squad - amid interest in Trevoh Chalobah from Serie A club Como - and Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix is emerging as a key target.
Another option being considered by Chelsea is 21-year-old Como centre-back Jacobo Ramon.
Ramon is also still linked to former club Real Madrid through various clauses, while the Spanish giants have made Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, valued by the Blues at £120m, one of their key targets this summer.
Chelsea have already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid for £51.8m, and are set to complete the signing of Atalanta defender Marco Palestra for a fee in excess of £43m.

NEW YORK — The Nets used Tuesday night to add creation and force. Wednesday was about range.
Brooklyn wrapped up its 2026 NBA draft by selecting UCLA forward Tyler Bilodeau with the No. 43 overall pick in the second round, adding one of the best shooting frontcourt players in the class to a roster still young, crowded and being reshaped around a trade for Julius Randle.
Bilodeau, 22, was not in the green room when his name came off the board. His path to Brooklyn arrived later in the night, after the Nets had already made their biggest moves of the draft: selecting Louisville guard Mikel Brown Jr. at No. 6 and agreeing in principle to acquire the draft rights to Iowa State forward Joshua Jefferson, the No. 28 pick, from the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of a trade still awaiting finalization.
The Timberwolves used the No. 33 pick Brooklyn sent out in the reported Randle deal to select Duke sharpshooter Isaiah Evans. The Nets, meanwhile, finished their draft with Bilodeau, a skilled offensive forward whose jumper gives him a workable NBA entry point.
Bilodeau averaged 17.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.1 ******* ists in his final season at UCLA while shooting 51.8% from the field, 46.4% from 3-point range and 87.3% from the free-throw line. He made those 3s on 4.5 attempts per game, high volume for a frontcourt player.

With the 55th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers selected Northwestern forward Nick Martinelli, further validating Chris Collins’ ability to develop and nurture pro-level talent amidst an ever-evolving college basketball landscape.
Los Angeles came out of nowhere and traded up with the Houston Rockets to pick Martinelli, after initially trading down to pick 57 in a deal with the Atlanta Hawks earlier Wednesday night. The Clippers were not reported to have met with Martinelli in the pre-draft process, but his resume likely spoke for itself to where LA President Lawrence Frank felt comfortable taking a flyer on the Wildcats legend.
Martinelli leaves Evanston as one of the most decorated scorers in program history. A two-time All-Big Ten selection, he averaged 23.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.0 ******* ists on 51/41.7/80.9 shooting splits in his senior season, winning the Big Ten scoring ******* le for the second straight year and setting a new Northwestern single-season record with 759 points. He is also a two-time First-Team Academic All-American, and one of only three Wildcats in program history to play in four NCAA Tournament games alongside Boo Buie and Brooks Barnhizer.
The pick extends a run of Collins-developed players earning professional opportunities that would have seemed improbable when Northwestern made its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017. Barnhizer went to the then-reigning-champion Oklahoma City Thunder at pick 44 in last year’s draft and earned real two-way trust in a system that has come to define what second-round development can look like. Martinelli’s path to Wednesday night was similar in spirit: four years in Evanston, steady improvement at every level, work ethic that draft evaluators rave about and a senior season that made the skeptics run out of arguments.
His selection also made history for the program itself, as Martinelli and Barnhizer are the first Northwestern duo to get selected in consecutive years since the NBA Draft shrank to its current two-round format in 1989.
