The LSU Tigers opened the Lane Kiffin era with a statement, crushing the Clemson Tigers 51-10 on Saturday night in Louisiana.
The win came amid all the ruckus around Kiffin and LSU's legal fight with the SEC over their use of former NFL players. Despite not using Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, LSU dominated, and Kiffin took a playful shot at the situation, a moment that quickly caught the attention of college football fans.
Early in the game, Clemson grabbed a 3-0 lead after LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt threw an interception on the second play. From there, though, Kiffin's squad flipped the game completely and scored 31 unanswered points.
By halftime, LSU had built a 31-3 advantage, giving Kiffin the perfect setup for a cheeky response.
"Imagine if we had pro players," Kiffin said at halftime.
