Patetuci, Ancelotti, Dalla Déa and Paulo Victor: national teams in harmonyCredits: Rafael Ribeiro / CBF
The meeting between head coach Carlo Ancelotti and the managers of CBF's three Brazilian men's youth national teams, held on Thursday afternoon (30) at Granja Comary in Teresópolis (RJ), marked the beginning of a new phase in the integration process among all levels of the Canarinho.
For nearly two hours, Ancelotti and Paulo Victor, of the Under-20 team, Carlos Eduardo Patetuci, of the Under-17s, and Guilherme Dalla Déa, of the Under-15s, discussed strategic topics related to the development of Brazilian football and player training. The meeting also served to establish the guidelines that will steer the joint work of the coaching staffs in the coming cycles.
The initiative reinforces CBF's commitment to an integrated sports management model, in which the constant exchange of information, methodologies and concepts strengthens talent development and makes it easier for young players to transition to the senior national team, ensuring greater continuity in the work carried out across all age groups.
Also present at the meeting, among several representatives of the youth coaching staffs, were the general executive coordinator of the men's national teams, Rodrigo Caetano, and the men's national teams manager, Cícero Souza.

SAO PAULO (AP) — Inter Porto Alegre defender Víctor Gabriel has been suspended from Brazilian soccer until Cruzeiro forward Gabriel Pec returns to training following recovery from a broken leg.
The sanction was handed down Tuesday by Brazil's Superior Court of Sports Justice, the country's highest independent body for sports discipline.
The court deemed a standard penalty insufficient given the severity of the incident. Pec suffered a left tibia fracture in a challenge from Víctor Gabriel in a league game on July 22.
While the court's suspension is capped at 180 days, it could end sooner if Pec is medically cleared to return to practice ahead of that time. The decision can be appealed.
Víctor Gabriel told the court he had no intention of causing injury to Pec, who played for LA Galaxy in the MLS before joining Cruzeiro for a club-record fee of at least $12 million during the World Cup break.

Roma and Adidas have today unveiled the new home shirt for the 2026/27 season.
The kit keeps the club’s traditional red base, combined with classic yellow details.
Roma’s historic crest returns over the heart as the central element of the design. On the back of the collar, the message “Con tutte le nostre forze” appears, a direct nod to the connection between the club, the players and the fans.
Paulo Dybala has been chosen to present it to the fans as the leading face of the new Giallorossi season.
For now, the shirt’s official competitive debut has not been confirmed, although it is expected to be worn for the first time during pre-season. Roma are thus continuing their image refresh ahead of the new campaign.

São Paulo and Corinthians were each punished by FIFA with a transfer ban this Tuesday, according to ge.
As a result, Tricolor is temporarily prohibited from registering new players. In Timão's case, this is the fourth accumulated transfer ban (three from FIFA and one from the CBF).
In São Paulo's case, the sanction stems from the delayed payment of 1.05 million euros (around R$ 6.08 million) to Lazio, of Italy, related to the first installment for the signing of midfielder Marcos Antônio.
The measure directly affects the team's planning. Although defensive midfielder Newton was registered with the CBF in time, the recently announced Aurélio Buta and Victor Sá still do not have legal clearance to play. The punishment also prevents the completion and registration of center-back Domingos Duarte's signing.
In Corinthians' case, the new transfer ban is related to the non-payment for defensive midfielder Charles to Midtjylland, of Denmark, in 2024.

Corinthians is very close to completing the return of forward Wesley, currently at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. According to ge, there is a verbal agreement for the loan of the 21-year-old player, who is a request from head coach Fernando Diniz.
Despite interest from Brazilian clubs, Wesley reportedly made it clear that his absolute priority would be returning to Parque São Jorge. The forward has a strong emotional bond with Timão, in addition to having family in São Paulo.
To make the deal possible and fit within the financial reality of the São Paulo club, the young player agreed to take a pay cut. Al-Nassr, which needs to free up a foreign-player spot in the squad, will cover part of his wages, while Corinthians will pay the rest.
The biggest obstacle to signing the contract, however, is the punishment imposed by FIFA. Corinthians is currently dealing with two transfer bans that prevent the registration of new players.
The debts that led to the punishment are related to the signing of defensive midfielder José Martínez from Philadelphia Union and to a fine imposed by FIFA itself. Combined, the amounts are around R$ 9 million.

Paulo Costa is itching to keep his momentum rolling in the UFC light heavyweight division. Yet it hasn't been easy to find the right fight for the final fight of his contract.
In a recent social media tirade, Costa, 35, vented his frustrations over being sidelined. "Borrachinha" last fought in March, when he scored an impressive knockout of the previously unbeaten Azamat Murzakanov. The layoff has tested the patience of the Brazilian contender.
Speaking in-studio in Las Vegas on Monday's edition of "The Ariel Helwani Show," Costa revealed he was contacted about replacing Khalil Rountree Jr. in the UFC Abu Dhabi main event on July 25 against Magomed Ankalaev. Instead, Costa declined what would've been the final fight of his deal, prompting Bogdan Guskov to take Rountree's place.
"I'm looking for a fight, but not a short-notice, five-round fight in Abu Dhabi," Costa told Uncrowned. "They offered that fight just to get a no as an answer from me. They extended [my contract] for six months [because of that]. I think there were some misunderstandings and mistakes — I don't understand exactly how they configure these things, and extensions and stuff. I'm not a lawyer. You need to know the small letters on the contract stuff. But I'm a fighter. I just fight.
"Dana White and [UFC CBO] Hunter [Campbell] came up to me after my last fight and said, 'I think this is the biggest victory of your career.' Maybe. And now, nothing's happened.

The eighth round of the Brasileirão U-17 begins this Tuesday (14) with nine matchups. The opening clash will be between Palmeiras and Flamengo at 11 a.m. at Nubank Parque in São Paulo. All the other matches that day will kick off at 3 p.m. The round comes to an end on Wednesday (15) with the match between Vasco da Gama and Corinthians.
The competition is marked by a great deal of balance in the standings. The 20 participating teams are trying to stay in the G-8, the qualification zone for the second phase. At the moment, Palmeiras, Fluminense, Fortaleza, Corinthians, Cruzeiro, América-MG, Athletico-PR, and Bahia occupy the top eight spots.
Red Bull Bragantino, Santos, Grêmio, Vasco da Gama, Juventude, São Paulo, Internacional, and Botafogo remain in the race to enter the qualification zone and could move up depending on the results of the eighth round.
Atlético-MG and Flamengo are on the outside looking in, but still have a chance to recover in the tournament. The situation is a bit more complicated for Vitória, in 19th place with 3 points, and Atlético-GO, in 20th place with no points, but the teams remain firmly in contention considering there are still 12 rounds left before the end of the first phase.

Even though he was almost always considered a backup option, Lucas Beraldo has turned things around in just a few months thanks to the confidence shown in him by head coach Luis Enrique. He was expected to leave at the end of the season, but the versatile Brazilian now appears set to establish himself at PSG for the long term.
Beraldo, 22, joined Paris Saint-Germain during the January 2024 transfer window, alongside Gabriel Moscardo, but unlike his compatriot, he was not loaned out by the club. For nearly two years, many questioned why PSG had signed the Brazilian defender from São Paulo.
But Enrique likely already had an idea in mind, and it has paid off. This season, the PSG coach repositioned Beraldo in midfield, and suddenly the Brazilian's talent became evident, including on the European stage.
In addition, during the UEFA Champions League final, the 22-year-old did not hesitate when taking Paris Saint-Germain's fifth and final penalty. On the back of all that, while a departure had been mentioned, the discussion has now shifted toward a contract extension.
Under contract with PSG through 2028, Beraldo has no desire to leave the French capital. According to PSG Inside-Actus, an insider, he had already signed an extension before the start of the Ligue 1 season. The move reportedly has Luis Enrique's approval, who greatly appreciates the qualities of the former São Paulo player.

This is the UFC 329 live blog for Robert Whittaker vs. Nikita Krylov, the preliminary card light heavyweight bout Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Whittaker is currently ranked No. 12 at 185 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, but makes his 205-pound debut against No. 14-ranked light heavyweight Krylov.
It’s been a rough stretch for Whittaker (26-9), a former UFC middleweight champion. Whittaker has lost his past two fights, pushing him out of the contender circle, and looks for a fresh start at weight class two divisions higher than 170 pounds, which Whittaker made his UFC debut at almost 14 years ago. “The Reaper’s” most recent wins have come against Ikram Aliskerov, Paulo Costa, and Marvin Vettori.
Krylov (31-11) has proven to be a stalwart at light heavyweight, with a 9-7 UFC record in the division and a number usually next to his name. This past January, he snapped a two-fight skid with a third-round knockout of Modestas Bukauskas at UFC 324.

Paulo Dybala is set to put pen to paper on a new Roma contract today, ending any uncertainty over the Argentine's future in the capital.
The playmaker had reached the end of his previous deal, and his signature will formally restore his status as a Roma player after a spell as a free agent.
The agreement runs for a single season, with no option for a further year attached, according to the Corriere dello Sport.
Dybala had initially hoped for a longer commitment, but an improved salary, worth close to €3 million net plus bonuses, bridged the gap and left both parties satisfied.

Roma is preparing to officially announce several contract renewals.
The training camp at Trigoria will begin on Monday, and Gasperini will officially begin his second season as Roma coach.
Among the coach's requests were the retention of Paulo Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Zeki Celik. Gianluca Mancini is in the clear.
Surprisingly, given that his contract with the Roman club expires on June 30, 2027, the third extension, following the new agreement with La Joya and the Turkish full-back, will be that of Roma's number 23. This comes before Lorenzo Pellegrini's contract renewal.
Lorenzo Pellegrini may start his training camp with Roma late.

As Corriere dello Sport reports, Paulo Dybala will sign his contract renewal today, tying him to Roma for one season with no options for a further year, with a net salary of close to €3 million plus bonuses.

Donald Trump's public criticism, which cast doubt on Raphael Claus's integrity after the sending-off of American Folarin Balogun, has put FIFA in a real diplomatic and sporting crossroads and could end up "helping" the Brazilian referee.
According to UOL journalists Danilo Lavieri and Paulo Vinícius Coelho, what seemed like the natural end of the road for Claus in the tournament could now turn into an extended stay at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Before the global fallout from Trump's remarks, the internal expectation was that Raphael Claus would end his involvement in the 2026 World Cup after officiating two matches: Spain vs. Saudi Arabia and United States vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The script would be identical to what the Brazilian experienced at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
However, the situation changed drastically with the controversy sparked by the alleged political interference of the United States in FIFA.

1505 ET – Treasury yields recover ground lost after disappointing labor data and end the week higher. The BLS puts June job creation at 57,000, about half as many as expected. The surprise reduces odds of Fed interest rate increases priced into fed fund futures, although at least one hike this year remains the highest probability, according to CME. June 30 is upon us and a list of 49 Serie A players are set to become available on free transfers by the end of the day, none more prominent than Juventus's Dusan Vlahovic, for whom a new deal appears increasingly unlikely.
19 out of the 20 clubs competing in the 2026-27 Serie A season have at least one player into the final day of their contracts on Tuesday – Atalanta are the only side with none.
Some clubs remain in talks over extensions, such as Roma with the likes of Paulo Dybala and Zeki Celik, or Inter with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but for Vlahovic, the situation remains less clear.
Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali confirmed on Monday that he has 'never' spoken to Vlahovic about a contract extension, but added that "Anything is possible in football, there can be possibilities tomorrow that do not exist tomorrow. He's a great player but today, he's not in our thoughts."

Paulo Costa is ready to get back to work. | Getty/UFC

Paulo Costa wants to keep the momentum going, but it appears that he and the UFC aren’t on the same page in that regard.

“Borrachinha” enjoyed a successful light heavyweight debut at UFC 327, where he finished the previously undefeated Azamat Murzakanov with a head kick in the third round on April 11. The victory seemingly opened up a variety of new possibilities for the Brazilian. Thus far, however, he’s been kept on ice.

Costa’s sense of urgency to get back to work is compounded by the fact that he is entering the last fight on his current UFC contract.
“Since I defeated Azamat in April, I have been looking for the next fight,” Costa wrote on X. “I’ve eventually opened the door to fight at heavyweight. UFC told me to wait…wait… Here we are, it’s already July, and [I’m] still looking to fight someone else at light heavyweight, middleweight or even heavyweight but the answer from [the UFC] by Hunter Campbell is the same: ‘Wait.’

“I want to fight. I don’t want to wait. I have just one more fight at my contract, and I want this fight happen soon, but for some reason they don’t.”
After a rough stretch from 2020 to 2024 where he lost four of five UFC appearances, Costa has raised his stock with back-to-back wins over Roman Kopylov and Murzakanov. The 35-year-old began his Octagon tenure on a roll, earning a ******* le shot after five consecutive victories. “Borrachinha” suffered a second-round stoppage loss to Israel Adesanya in a 185-pound championship clash at UFC 253.

1051 ET – The dollar strengthens while Treasury yields decline as markets react to Fed policy and easing geopolitical tensions. The Fed sounded surprisingly hawkish last week, fueling expectations of at least one and maybe two interest rate increases this year which would support the greenback. “The dollar’s spot price could continue to react to the near-term risk of rate hikes,” Naga.com’s Frank Walbaum says. Meanwhile, falling oil prices reduce inflation fears, weighing on yields. The Fed’s pledge to keep fighting inflation reassures markets that rates will fall after a potential tightening, Walbaum says. The WSJ Dollar Index rises 0.3%. The 10-year Treasury yield is at 4.416%, after reaching 4.5% overnight. (paulo.trevisaniwsj.com; ptrevisani)
1306 GMT – The euro’s decline against the dollar is likely to slow at the very least, Societe Generale’s Kit Juckes says in a note. The euro falls to a one-year low of $1.1324, according to LSEG data, following a recent increase in Federal Reserve interest-rate rise expectations and a paring of tightening bets for the European Central Bank. The euro has broken below the range of $1.14 and $1.20 it has been in for the majority of the past year, Juckes says. This could limit how much further the euro can fall, he says. “Fed and ECB expectations have been reset, and we need fresh economic data to drive the next leg of the move.” (renae.dyerwsj.com)
