The Detroit Lions have added another receiver to their offseason roster.
On Wednesday, the team announced that it has signed wide receiver Kyre Duplessis, adding another young playmaker to compete for a spot during training camp.

Duplessis enters the NFL after a productive career with the Delaware Blue Hens.
During the 2025 season, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound receiver hauled in 60 receptions for 824 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 13.7 yards per catch.

Having come on strong in this year’s French Open, Diana Shnaider’s explosive left-handed forehand and double-handed backhand aren’t her only signatures.
The Russian-born player, who is recognizable for her colorful headscarves, is squaring off against Maja Chwalińska of Poland Thursday. Shnaider opted for a repeat look, wearing the same orange headscarf and black Yonex tennis dress that she wore Wednesday to defeat the WTA’s top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka. As for her French Open strategy, Shnaider told reporters earlier this week that she was “trying to go match by match.”
The Yonex-sponsored athlete was unmissable in an orange ribbed headscarf that accented the orange and turquoise trim on her black tennis dress with a leathery-looking pleated skirt. It also coordinates with the red clay courts at Roland-Garros.
Born in Zhigulevsk, Russia, Shnaider started playing tennis at the age of 4 and was training under coach Samvel Minasyan in Moscow by the age of 8. After a stint at North Carolina State University in 2022, she competed in her first Grand Slam tournament the following year at the Australian Open. Repped by Topnotch Management, the former Adidas-sponsored athlete has an endorsement deal with the sports media content company First & Red. Her career earnings to date are $5.17 million including $952,112 in prize earnings. This year women’s single winner at the French Open will take home 2,800,000 euros, or $3.25 million.
Her signature headscarf was something that she started wearing years ago to shield the sun. Shnaider’s parents were concerned that the fair-haired daughter would get sunburned on the courts, but caps and visors reportedly obstructed her view. So Shnaider opted for a headscarf that they bought in a supermarket. By 2023, Shnaider was outsourcing the design of her favorite accessory, by buying the material for a seamstress to design. However, for Wednesday’s upset victory, she appeared to wear a ribbed one with the Yonex logo on it. A Yonex representative deferred an interview request to Topnotch Management, which did not respond to requests for comment.
The American men’s singles player Frances Tiafoe copied the look last year by sporting a blue headscarf with white polka dots at last year’s Cincinnati Open. He gave her credit for the choice via Instagram inspiration on Instagram with “New look?? Appreciate u _di_shnaider_ .”

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Erick All Jr. aims to put his injuries behind him after missing 43 games dating back to his final season with the Michigan Wolverines in 2022 and his lone season with the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2023. He missed 11 games in 2022 with a significant back injury that required surgery. All then missed seven games in 2023 due to a torn right ACL. He tore the same ACL in his rookie season, missing eight games and the entire 2025 campaign.
All has since fully recovered and has been a full participant in voluntary organized team activities. He will compete for a roster spot, and if he can pick where he left off in both the blocking and receiving departments, he could earn a place on the 53-man roster.
During Tuesday’s press conference, Erick All Jr. was asked about his health after recently recovering from a pair of ACL injuries, as reported by Billy Riccette of Bengals Wire. He said he feels much better than when he first arrived in Cincinnati in 2024 and is now completely healthy. All also emphasized his physicality, saying he “is in heaven” when coaches have him hit.
“I love to hit. If they have me hit, I’m in heaven,” All said, via Riccette.
“If I’m being quite honest, I feel a lot better than I did when I first got here. Like, a lot better. Completely healthy, 2024 season to now, I feel like a completely different person.

Baseball is the Spitaleri family business and, right now, business is booming.
Led senior Sean Spitaleri, Glen Rock is back in the North 1, Group 2 sectional final June 5, taking on Ramsey. Spitaleri is a pitcher/first baseman with a 9-1 record on the hill, a team-high 15 doubles and 28 RBIs. He's the North Jersey Male Athlete of the Week, presented by HSS.
Spitaleri couldn’t escape baseball even if he wanted to – news flash, he doesn’t – his father, Steve, is the Panther's head coach and his brother Jack is a starting outfielder.
“I am not here without my teammates or my coaches,” Spitaleri said after getting home from the Panthers sectional semifinal win in Vernon on June 3. “My whole team deserves a lot of recognition. I’m super lucky to be surrounded by a bunch of great guys, our bench guys bring energy and effort and that fires me up to give 110 percent.”
Sean has heard the question his entire high school career: What’s it like to have your dad as a coach? The answer is he loves it. Steve was a standout at Dominican University and runs a private baseball academy. Sean remembers being exposed to baseball growing up but not overly pushed in that direction.

The New England Patriots have made a change to their offseason program schedule.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots moved their mandatory minicamp from June 15-17 to June 9-11, as head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed to media members on Tuesday.
The Patriots will hold their mandatory minicamp for veteran players, as stipulated in the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement. Physicals will be administered on June 8, before the team goes through on-field activities.
New England’s second practice of the minicamp will entail walkthroughs only. No live contact will be permitted throughout the three days of the mandatory camp.
The Patriots acquired superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on June 1, changing the complexion of their roster even further this spring. They will continue to get Brown and the team into shape once the mandatory minicamp takes place next week.

GREEN BAY – Less than a year ago, while still rehabbing from his torn ACL late in the 2024 season, Christian Watson got a little patience from the Green Bay Packers with a one-year extension.
It provided a runway for Watson to return without the pressure of a contract expiration hanging over him. More time to prove he was back to full speed.
Turns out, he didn’t need it.
Watson reached an agreement on a second extension June 4, a four-year, $110.5 million deal that will retain the Packers’ top receiver long term, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal includes a $31 million signing bonus and dwarfs the one-year extension worth up to $13.25 million he signed last September.
The new extension makes Watson the NFL’s 15th-highest-paid receiver at $27.625 million annually. Watson might have scaled higher on the market with a healthy season this fall, but much like Jayden Reed did earlier this offseason, opted for more security up front.

The Green Bay Packers are locking up wide receiver Christian Watson for the long haul on a mega multi-year extension.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Watson is signing a four-year deal worth $110.5 million to remain in Green Bay. The contract also includes a $31 million signing bonus.
Watson was set to hit free agency next offseason, and though the young receiver has shown promise through four seasons, he has been unable to stay healthy and post consistent production when on the field.
2026 has been considered a make-or-break year for Watson, but the Packers have decided to sign him to a long-term extension before training camp kicks off, which tells us a lot about quarterback Jordan Love and Green Bay's offense.

Russell Wilson’s retirement marks the end of one of the most accomplished quarterback careers of the modern NFL era. After 14 seasons, a Super Bowl championship, ten Pro Bowl selections, and nearly 47,000 passing yards, Wilson announced Wednesday that he is stepping away from football. The longtime Seattle Seahawks star leaves the game as one of the most productive dual-threat quarterbacks in league history, finishing his career with 353 touchdown passes and more than 5,500 rushing yards.
In an announcement on Twitter/X, Wilson announced his retirement and addressed many different people along the way, including former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.
“To coach Carroll, thanks for taking a chance on a young, 5-11 Black kid from Richmond, Virginia, that was told he was too small to ever make it in the NFL,” Wilson said. “We knew what winning was like. And to every teammate I’ve had the privilege of sharing the locker room with, thank you for the sacrifices, the brotherhood, the memories. None of this is possible without you.”
Wilson’s retirement may be fresh, but that is not stopping him from continuing to work in the field that he loves. He has accepted a position with CBS Sports as an ******* yst for the upcoming 2026 football season.
“As I enter this next chapter with CBS Sports and The NFL Today, I’m so blessed to continue doing what I love most, being around the greatest game in the world,” Wilson said.

This future Army athlete has plenty of motivation to serve his country and compete for the Black Knights.
Adis Hamidovic, a senior at Bloomington North High School in Indiana, has committed to throw for the Army track and field team. He's determined to follow in the footsteps of his mom, Sara, who played multiple sports for Army in the early 2000s. He'll join a Army track program led by coach Mike Smith, who has been named Patriot League Men's Coach of the Year five times since coming to West Point in 2014.
Hamidovic is one of the best throwers in Indiana and could be set up for a big performance this weekend at the IHSAA track and field finals. He took first in the discus (185 feet, one inch) and third in the shot put (56 feet, 7.5 inches) at last week's regional meet. He enters Friday's finals ranked third in the discus and 11th in the shot put.
Sara is bursting with pride over the choice her son has made about his future.
At the same time, it's hard to keep from crying when she talks about exactly where his decision could lead him. She knows firsthand — and it scares the ***** out of her.

The New York Islanders may lose their captain to free agency, and the New Jersey Devils play a major role in the situation.
Anders Lee’s seven year contract is up on July 1st and he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent.
The Islanders and Lee have been here before. However, at the 11th hour back in 2019, Lee and the Islanders agreed to terms on an extension to keep the captain on Long Island.
Yet, this isn’t Lou Lamoriello’s Islanders anymore. It’s Mathieu Darche in the GM chair these days. And now Lee and the Islanders are back at it in this game of chicken.
According to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, Lee and his agent are preparing to hit free agency on July 1st.

There's been a significant amount of interest in tracking New York Jets rookie quarterback Cade Klubnik at OTAs.
Understandably so. The fanbase is looking for a young quarterback to attach hope to. Klubnik had impressed in early sessions, but Tuesday's was of the rougher variety.
Klubnik went 2-of-5 during 11-on-11 team drills, according to ESPN. The former Clemson standout overthrew his target on one incompletion and there was an errant throw on another dropback. It's worth noting one of Klubnik's three incompletions was a dropped pass.
Offensive coordinator Frank Reich's 7-on-7 drills reportedly weren't any kinder to Klubik.
The fourth-round quarterback finished 3-of-9. He threw an interception down the sideline to cornerback Tre Brown. The turnover appeared to have rattled Klubnik, who followed his interception with a few more misfires. The Jets' offense reportedly worked on a lot of third-and-long, placing the rookie quarterback at a disadvantage.

The Oklahoma Sooners have built quite the 2027 recruiting class over the last few months, and it continues to grow even stronger. OU currently has 23 commitments for this cycle, with 12 coming on the offensive side of the ball, and 11 coming on the defensive side of the ball.
Furthermore, those that follow high school football recruiting closely were excited about the state of Oklahoma's crop of high school players in the 2027 class. Many have called it a historically good cycle for the state, perhaps even the best ever. Both Rivals and 247Sports back those claims up. Both sites have three players from the state in the top 50 of their national player rankings, something that has never happened before for the state of Oklahoma.
Each of those three players, Fort Gibson's Cooper Hackett, Bixby's Kaeden Penny, and Mustang's Gabriel Osborne Jr., are committed to the Sooners, meaning that OU head coach Brent Venables and general manager Jim Nagy not only swept the consensus top three players in the state, they swept the consensus top three players in the state in possibly the state's best class ever.
Hackett stands at 6-foot-7, and weighs 260 pounds. He is ranked as the nation's No. 17 player by Rivals and the No. 14 player nationally by 247Sports Composite. The offensive lineman has an extremely high athletic ceiling and he moves well for his size. He is a player that the Sooners are pinning their future hopes at offensive tackle on.
Penny checks in at 6-foot-4 and weighs 265 pounds. Rivals ranks him as No. 32 player in the country, with 247Sports Composite ranking him at No. 37. The offensive lineman displays strong footwork and body control, especially when it comes to pass protection. He's capable of playing both offensive tackle or lining up in the interior of the offensive line.
