DBS has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore (IBF) to "uplift, upskill and upbuild" financial sector talent pipeline in the Singapore for an AI-driven future.
The pact covers three strands of cooperation focused on AI-related skills, job transition and the development of future talent for Singapore's financial services industry.
The first area, labelled Uplift, centres on building basic AI knowledge among employees through programmes recognised by IBF.
Topics are set to include AI governance, responsible AI, prompt engineering and workplace uses of AI.
The second area, Upskill, relates to support for workers whose roles are being altered by AI.

The Orioles were swept away tonight, ruining every bit of goodwill and excitement they had built up with their series against the Rays last weekend. Tonight's game, a 6-1 loss to the Yankees, had a little bit of everything bad. The offense could not solve Gerrit Cole. One big error cost the team a couple runs. And Kyle Bradish struggled for his second straight start. It was not an uplifting game, to say the least.
Let's start with Bradish. He faced just three batters in the first inning, but there was foreshadowing for the rest of his game. He walked leadoff batter Trent Grisham on six pitches. To make matters worse, Carlos Narváez challenged ball four and lost. On the first batter of the game. Bradish then went 3-2 to Ben Rice, but Rice bailed him out by swinging at ball four and popping out. Heliot Ramos grounded into the first of three Yankees double plays to end the inning.
The third inning was the worst one for Bradish, with an ***** ist to Gunnar Henderson. Back-to-back singles put runners on the corners with no outs. José Caballero hit a groundball to Jackson Holliday, who fired to Henderson to start the double play, but Henderson missed the catch. No outs were recorded and a run scored. The next batter did hit into a double play, but Bradish couldn't close out the inning. Three batters and three hits later, the Orioles were down 3-0.
Bradish allowed two more baserunners in the fifth inning but was once again saved by a double play ball. He ended the fifth inning with 89 pitches. After his struggles, I thought that might be the end of his night. Unfortunately for him, he went back out for the sixth. He faced four batters and retired two of them. The other two hit home runs. Whoops! He was pulled after the second one. His final pitching line: 5.2 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K. Henderson's error led to the unearned runs, but Bradish did allow three more hits in the inning after that play. Not great.
The way that the Orioles' offense played, Bradish could have been a lot better and it wouldn't have mattered. They looked like they might have something cooking in the first inning with Pete Alonso singled and Gunnar Henderson walked, but they were stranded.

Caitlin Clark singles out Fever's unlikely hero after perfect shooting night originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers were the headliners at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday. Tyasha Harris became the Indiana Fever's unexpected difference-maker.
Harris came off the bench and scored 15 points in only 17 minutes during Indiana's 98-87 victory over the Dallas Wings. She attempted five shots, all from beyond the arc, and made every one of them. It was a perfectly efficient performance from a veteran whose value to the Fever has not always appeared in the box score. Afterward, Clark made sure Harris received recognition for everything she contributes.
"Ty is probably one of the best teammates I've had," Clark said. "She's always there supporting everybody, uplifting everybody. So it's really fun to see her kind of come into her own and thrive."
Harris' five 3-pointers provided a crucial boost on a night when the Fever needed help overcoming a halftime deficit. Clark carried the offense with 29 points and 10 ******* ists. Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points, while Aliyah Boston recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Liverpool are increasingly confident of securing Rio Ngumoha to a new long-term contract, with TeamTalk reporting that talks have already taken place and that Anfield figures expect an agreement in the months ahead.
The 17-year-old, who turns 18 at the end of August, is approaching a significant moment in his development. Once eligible to sign fresh long-term terms, he is set to be rewarded for what has been a rapid rise inside the club. Liverpool previously handed him the maximum three-year contract permitted when he arrived, and the next step now appears to be a far more substantial commitment.
Those discussions are understood to centre on a significantly improved package. The proposed deal is expected to include a major salary increase, as well as performance-related uplifts tied to appearances and international recognition. The belief inside Liverpool is particularly striking. According to the report, "The Reds firmly believe Ngumoha can become a fully fledged England international this season" and that confidence is shaping the contract structure being prepared.

There is a clear sense that Liverpool view the winger as elite-tier talent. Internally, "Liverpool's view is that Ngumoha is already one of the best young players in Europe and they want his new terms to reflect that status." That is a strong statement of intent from a club looking to build its next cycle under Andoni Iraola.

Sands Capital, an investment management company, released its "Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund" Q2 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. In the quarter, global equities rebounded sharply, with the MSCI ACWI posting its strongest quarterly gain since 2020, supported by broad market strength, easing geopolitical tensions, and continued enthusiasm for AI infrastructure. Information technology led the advance, with semiconductor and hardware companies accounting for most of the index's rise. The fund returned 26.9% (net) in the second quarter of 2026. The portfolio benefited from strong gains across memory, software infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other AI-related holdings, although its concentrated exposure to mega-cap chip designers and manufacturers weighed on relative performance as leadership broadened into CPUs, networking, and memory. Vertical software, internet, and financial holdings were modest detractors amid macro concerns and uncertainty over AI disruption. The fund remains focused on critical AI bottlenecks, including compute, memory, manufacturing, networking, and power, while retaining selected businesses that may use AI to strengthen their competitive positions. You can check the fund's top five holdings to learn more about its leading investment ideas for the year.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund highlighted TTM Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI) as a new addition. TTM Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI) manufactures and sells mission systems, radio frequency (RF) components, RF microwave/microelectronic ******* emblies, and printed circuit boards (PCBs) and substrates in the United States and internationally. Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund stated the following regarding TTM Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"TTM Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI) is a leading Western manufacturer of highly complex printed circuit boards (PCBs) and integrated electronic subsystems. We believe the company is positioned at the intersection of AI data center growth and defense modernization. TTM is 75 percent sole sourced in U.S. aerospace and defense projects due to lack of domestic competitors and is already booking revenue from Golden Dome. As AI infrastructure evolves to support advanced accelerators, networking equipment, and custom compute architectures, boards require more layers, higher performance, and greater manufacturing precision, creating meaningful pricing uplift versus commoditized PCBs. We believe TTM's exposure to AI accelerator boards, networking, and defense demand can support durable earnings growth and improving qual

NEW DELHI: West Indies captain Roston Chase said his team's 90-run victory over Pakistan in the opening Test was a tribute to legendary all-rounder Garry Sobers, with the players determined to honour the cricket great. Sobers, widely regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in the game's history, passed away on July 17 at the age of 89. Tuesday marked what would have been his 90th birthday.
Following West Indies' victory at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Chase revealed that the team had spoken about Sobers before the match.

"We wanted to make him proud and had a chat about it before the match. I hope he is smiling down on us."

Chase also thanked the fans who turned up to support the home side.

"I also want to thank the Trinidad crowd for coming out and supporting us. It was not a big crowd, but it gave us enough energy and support to go out there and perform," Chase said.

The win handed West Indies a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.
West Indies entered the Pakistan series after a 1-0 Test series victory over Sri Lanka, and Chase said the team's recent performances were the result of months of hard work.

"I think these two teams that we've played, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, they're closer to us in the rankings. I don't want to say they're teams we should beat, but I think it's a more even contest between us."
He further said, "The guys are confident and over the last few months we've been putting in some extra hard work. We had a camp as well before the Sri Lanka series and I think that really helped us become closer as a unit and also work on our weaknesses and improve our strengths as well. So I think that this is the upliftment of that practice and camp."
Fast bowlers dominated throughout the match at Tarouba, with all 40 wickets falling to seam bowling.

Justin Greaves starred with 5/27 in Pakistan's first innings, while Jayden Seales claimed 5/20 in the second innings. Together, they picked up 13 wickets.

Greaves also produced the rare achievement of bowling five successive wicket maidens in Pakistan's first innings.

Speaking about the conditions, Chase said, "I think it just goes to show that it was more friendly towards the seamers. The Pakistani spinner (Ali Usman) bowled a number of overs (13 in the first innings), he didn't get a wicket. (Jomel) Warrican bowled a few (18 across two innings), didn't get a wicket and didn't look too threatening as well. The (fast bowlers) really put the ball in the right areas and it paid off."

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, said her Democratic Senate primary race was "a racist race" in an interview published Wednesday and argued she didn't need to campaign with her former opponent and the party's nominee, James Talarico.
Crockett said at the Essence Festival alongside the hosts of the "Native Land" podcast that the best thing she could do for former primary foe Talarico was to endorse Black candidates down ballot so more Black voters turn out in November.
"The best thing that I can do is take down-ballot candidates who no one's ever heard of and do my best to uplift them and increase the voter participation in a way that we did in Texas," she said.
"You see, a lot of haters got a lot of things to say about me and my race and how I ran it," Crockett continued. "But the reality is that there was a lot of racist, not a lot, it was racist. It was a racist race. It is what it is, right? But we live in America as y'all are celebrating 250. OK? We know what this country is. But let me tell you the facts. There is no race that turned out more people to vote ever in the state of Texas except for Barack [Obama] and Hillary [Clinton]."

Scott Allan takes encouragement from some other lesser-fancied nations' performances at the World Cup before Scotland's crucial Group C match with Morocco.
The Scots are two points better off than Morocco before Friday's meeting (23:00 BST) after the opening round of fixtures and one more point is likely to be enough for a place in the last 32.
Morocco are sixth in the world rankings - 31 places above Scotland - and former Celtic and Hibs midfielder Allan feels the Scots are in for a tough match.
"I'm a wee bit more uplifted by the fact I've seen teams like DR Congo and Cape Verde against some real top-class opposition, how defensively disciplined they were and managed to get a point," Allan told the BBC's Scottish Football Podcast.
"I'm looking at Scotland thinking that is probably the best way of getting a result. There's no getting away that Morocco have some real quality throughout their team. They've got pace, they've got energy and they've certainly got quality.

At last, Thailand's trans men and masc-of-center lesbians are getting their moment in the sun — or in this case, on the stage. The Tom Thailand 2026 will be the country's first-ever beauty pageant uplifting masc-of-center lesbians, transmasculine people, and trans men.
Organized and owned by Bunnada Thippibal, known in many ******* es as Phi Lek, the pageant isn't just about presentation or suits; contestants will be judged based on their confidence, character, and self-expression. The novel Tom Thailand 2026 pageant was announced on June 15 during a press conference by Calypso Cabaret, trans performance group, at the Asiatique The Riverfront in Bangkok, per TimeOut Thailand.
Though the country is known for its beauty pageants, many of which uplift trans women and kathoey, a pre-colonial transfeminine gender identity specific to Thailand, there has never been such an event focusing on "toms," or masc-of-center lesbians and transmascs. Because Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia to have never been colonized by European countries, it has preserved its rich history of gender variance. The goal of the show is to put toms and trans men in the public eye, and highlight their excellence.
Joining Phi Lek will be Wilailak Sirisakhon as pageant director, as well as masters for the contest Anant Semathong, also known as Mae Uan Return, Winit Bunchaisri, and Thachai Prathumwan, a musician known as Keng. The competition will be hosted by social media creator Mod X and actor Thanaphol Khiaoorn. The coaching team will include Patitthaya Khwantrakun, Sumonrat and Piyawan Chuentako.
