Third-party logistics provider Radiant Logistics beat fiscal fourth-quarter expectations Monday after the market closed. A volatile trade landscape is driving demand higher for its customs brokerage and compliance services. It also flagged further tightening in the domestic truckload and intermodal markets, which will propel financial results over time.
"While these market trends are not fully reflected in our results for the June quarter, we view these developments as constructive for our domestic operations in general and our U.S. Brokerage operations, in particular," said Bohn Crain, founder and CEO, in a news release. "If these trends continue, we believe they support a more broad-based and durable recovery for the domestic freight market."
The report sent shares of RLGT 16% higher in early trading on Tuesday versus the S&P 500, which was down 0.2%.
The Renton, Washington-based company reported revenue of $261 million for its fiscal fourth quarter, ended June 30. The result was 19% higher year over year and $30 million ahead of the consensus estimate.
Adjusted earnings per share of 15 cents ($7.4 million) were 4 cents higher y/y and 6 cents ahead of consensus. Disaster relief shipments following typhoons in the Western Pacific drove international airfreight results higher in the period.

The opening week of fall sports was a busy one. Local volleyball teams played multiple games and Astoria soccer teams took the pitch for the first time. Here's what happened on the field and on the court.

Improvement looks to be the name of the game for local volleyball teams.
Seaside, Knappa and Jewell flashed moments of good play during their first official weeks on the court. The Seagulls, under new coach Nicole Aydt, look to be coming into their own. After rebuilding the program behind freshmen, the Seagulls won just one game over the last two seasons.
Now, with many of the players entering their third year in the program, the Lady Gulls' improvement looks to be real. The Seagulls had a solid showing at last Saturday's seven team tournament at Warrenton. Seaside and Warrenton played two great matches against each other including a three-set thriller in the semi-finals. After struggling last season to maintain points, the Seagulls defense, passing and serving was very solid. Junior libero Chloe Baker served great against Warrenton and her defense helped the Seagulls all day Saturday. Senior captain Autumn Fenton and juniors Araya Edwards, Sophia Saso and Tiera Spivey make up a solid group of building blocks for Seaside.

Now-former Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Patrick Herbert is reportedly joining his brother Justin Herbert with the LA Chargers.
During cutdown day on Sunday, the Jaguars waived Patrick. According to Mike Garafolo, he has opted to sign with the Chargers' practice squad after clearing waivers.
Garafolo adds that Patrick had multiple offers, but chose to join Justin in LA.
The Jaguars signed Patrick after the 2025 NFL draft as an undrafted free agent. He spent his rookie season on the practice squad and remained with Jacksonville throughout this offseason.
The Jaguars heavily addressed the tight end position this offseason, selecting Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol in the draft. Those two, along with Brenton Strange and Quintin Morris, make up the tight end room on the 53-man roster.

Compared to last year's initial 53-man roster, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a number of newcomers on this year's initial 53.
The first change is at the quarterback position, with Quinn Ewers now listed as the backup, whereas last season it was Nick Mullens. With the departure of Travis Etienne Jr, the running back room has also changed with additions Chris Rodriguez and Ameer Abdullah.
At wide receiver, Jakobi Meyers was not on the initial roster last season because Jacksonville traded for him mid-season. Besides Meyers, there are two other additions in the wide receiver room - CJ Williams and Josh Cameron. Williams and Cameron are both rookies the Jaguars drafted in the sixth round.
The tight end position is also much different. Jacksonville had three tight ends last year, and Brenton Strange is the only one of those three who is still on the roster. The Jaguars now have four tight ends, with their three new additions being Nate Boerkircher, Tanner Koziel, and Quintin Morris. Boerkircher was the Jaguars' second-round pick in this most recent draft, while Koziel was a fifth-rounder. Morris started last season on Jacksonville's practice squad but was later elevated to the active roster and played in 14 games last season.
On the offensive line, there are two new additions - rookie third-round pick Emmanuel Pregnon, who is expected to be the starting left guard, and Daniel Faalele, who spent the past four years with the Baltimore Ravens and is expected to be a depth piece for the Jaguars.

Gunfire tore through two communities in Trenton, New Jersey, and Chicago less than 15 minutes apart overnight, leaving three people dead and 23 others wounded in two mass shootings as police in both cities search for answers.
Trenton police responded to a neighborhood near 194 Locust Street at about 12:25 a.m. local time Sunday after multiple shots were reported, Trenton Mayor W. Reed Gusciora said in a statement.
First responders found 11 people who had been shot.

Cerulli **** ociates estimates about $941 billion will move from 401(k) plans into IRAs this year, with annual rollover flows projected to reach $1.3 trillion by 2031.
More than 11,000 Americans are turning 65 each day in 2026, according to the Alliance for Lifetime Income, and IRAs already hold approximately $18.2 trillion as of the first quarter of 2026, the Investment Company Institute reports.
The money is moving, and for retirees who don't fully understand the trade-offs, it may be moving in a direction they can't predict.
In most cases, "you can't go back to whence you came," Brenton Harrison, a certified financial planner based in Nashville, told CNBC. Once funds land in an IRA, the original employer plan will typically refuse to accept them.

Boerkircher did not play in this preseason game, which highlights the important role he will have right away this season. He will be the No. 2 option at tight end behind Brenton Strange, bringing a blocking-heavy presence to the position, although the Jaguars believe he can impact the passing game as well.
Regis did not play in this preseason matchup either. He is projected to be the backup nose tackle behind DaVon Hamilton. This is a role that won't always fill the stat sheet and is one that can come with a learning curve, as Liam Coen mentioned recently.

Will this be the year that the tight end position finally lives up to its potential? For years we've hoped for a deep group of TEs riddled with talent at every draft point, only to end up with the same elite group and then a bunch of "Play and pray" options. But maybe this season will be different. Our Yahoo ****** ysts take a look at the tight end position and share their breakout candidate for 2026.
Breakouts tend to exist at the intersection of talent and situation. And for Brenton Strange, the talent piece of the equation isn't hard to see. Since joining the Jaguars in '23, Strange's routes and target share have been on an upward trajectory. The Penn State product barely saw the field his rookie season (2.2% target rate), but he evolved into one of Trevor Lawrence's go-to options as Jacksonville marched toward the playoffs.
After returning from a hip injury sustained in Week 5, Strange supplanted Brian Thomas Jr. as the "WR3" (16.6% share) and even led the team in red-zone targets (14). Plus, the added cardio has only allowed us to see more of his athletic ability, as his yards per route run (9th among all TEs in '25 – min. 10 games played) and YAC per reception picked up between Years 2 and 3.
But I'll admit Strange's situation is, well, strange! The Jaguars traded for and compensated Jakobi Meyers for bringing the passing game to life and got a breakout performance from their 6th-round WR out of the same draft class. Oh, and Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter are still there. The "lot of mouths to feed" argument will keep Strange's draft-cost down, but let's not forget his productivity and utility within this offense. — Chris Allen
After the Rashid Shaheed trade, Johnson was the TE5 in yards per game and TE8 in receptions per game from Week 10 on. With Jordyn Tyson out until the Week 6-9 range, Johnson should start out strong, as this is the same Saints receiving corps as it was during that explosive sample. The Saints have the advantages of playing against the NFC South, playing indoors and operating in the No. 1 neutral pace offense. Johnson is also good! Watch him!

The Crosstown Classic started with a soul-crushing extra-inning heartbreak for the White Sox with a Cubs walk-off. Despite the game staying close and competitive, poor challenges and sloppy defense doomed the South Siders. The Sox fell 7-5 in the opener.
The game got off to an ugly start after the White Sox went down in order and Pete Crow-Armstrong and Seiya Suzuki answered with back-to-back homers. With two outs, the Cubs threatened again with back-to-back singles, but Pedro Ramírez sent a ball right to Brenton Doyle, ending the first.
After wasting an ABS challenge to start the third, Sam Antonacci reached anyway when he was plunked. But that wouldn't yield any good results, as Shōta Imanaga shut down the next three White Sox batters. Luis Castillo seemed to have settled in by the bottom of the third, and the guys behind him helped strand the only baserunner in the frame.
The first hit for the White Sox came in the fourth via Miguel Vargas, right after a walk to Munetaka Murakami. Then, with one swing of the bat, Randal Grichuk gave the Good Guys the lead with a three-run homer.

DETROIT — A blister affected Chicago White Sox starter Davis Martin in Thursday's outing that ended with an ejection.
A day later, the right-hander landed on the 15-day injured list with the blister on his right middle finger.
"We decided that there's a good chunk of skin gone, how that's going to affect me throwing the baseball?" Martin said Friday afternoon. "A lot of questions popped up where it made sense to put me on the IL and get it taken care of."
Martin's IL stint was one of several moves announced by the American League Central-leading Sox ahead of a big three-game series against the second-place Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. The Sox brought up pitchers José Urquidy and Tyler Schweitzer from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned right-hander Tanner McDougal to Charlotte.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — After answering six minutes' worth of questions about why the Seattle Seahawks are working on a contract with cornerback Terrion Arnold, coach Mike Macdonald was asked about the team's preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.
Macdonald made it clear he was not ducking inquiries about Arnold, who is facing eight felony charges stemming from allegations he orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men in February. The 23-year-old became a free agent in June, when the Detroit Lions released him a few days after the kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy charges were levied.
"I understand the situation," Macdonald said Friday. "So, I'm glad that we had the opportunity to talk about it."
Macdonald explained why the reigning Super Bowl champions felt compelled to add Arnold, who prosecutors in Florida said arranged for men to be pistol-whipped after he wrongly suspected them of stealing $100,000 in cash and luxury goods from him.
Police called Arnold the "primary conspirator" in the Feb. 4 attack, and a judge set his bail at $1 million.

RENTON, Wash. — DeMarcus Lawrence debated carefully whether to return for the 2026 NFL season. In his 12th year, the Seattle Seahawks edge rusher had stayed healthy enough to play every game, forced six fumbles between the regular season and playoffs, and won a Super Bowl.
Should he hang it up?
"I'm doing everything that a player can wish for," Lawrence told Yahoo Sports in a sit-down interview from training camp. "So now do I cut that light off and turn the lights [off]? … I ain't think it was time to hang it up yet."
But with six children and his wife, Sasha, back in Dallas, the Dallas Cowboys' 2014 second-round draft pick says he has just one season left.
"This will be my last year," Lawrence said. "Through the grace of God, I'm able to play another year and soak it all up one more good time before I hang it up."

For the first seven innings, it certainly seemed like the White Sox (61-57) channeled the Pope in the series opener, mashing three solo home runs for three of their four runs in front of a 40,000-person crowd, all wearing Pope hats.
Unfortunately, the Chicago bullpen wasn't as blessed, and wound up blowing the save in the top of the eighth, allowing the Reds (57-61) to come all the way back and steal the game in the top of the 10th, 5-4.
Righthander Sean Burke looked as good as ever, and outside of a solo home run given up to Eugenio Suárez, he was completely under control, only surrendering one run on three hits while striking out eight along the way. Burke put together three true 1-2-3 innings in his seven innings of work: the first, third and fourth (he technically recorded four outs in the third, with Héctor Rodríguez reaching on a dropped-third strike). In fact, Edgar Quero was just as devoured by Burke's knuckle curve that dove out of the zone to the ground as Rodríguez, who completely whiffed. The pitch was so far out of the strike zone that it didn't even appear in the MLB Gameday feed:
Offensively, the South Siders were looking great early in the game, blasting three solo home runs and an RBI double to go up four runs, 4-0.
The White Sox were averaging a long ball an inning through two, beginning with Brenton Doyle smashing a first-pitch, leadoff home run in the first, and Edgar Quero following it up with one of his own in the bottom of the second, giving Burke and Chicago a pair of insurance runs early in the game.

Saia has opened 70 terminals since 2017 as part of a deliberate, multiyear organic expansion that CEO Fritz Holzreif says is still far from its full potential. Since 2023 alone, the carrier has added close to 40 new locations and replaced or relocated another 30 facilities — a pace of physical network transformation that Holzreif said no other LTL carrier has matched in the same period.
The buildout matters because it has unlocked transit lanes Saia could not previously offer. Customers can now ship freight from Trenton, N.J., to Texas markets in three days, Holzreif noted — a direct result of the denser footprint. "Customers are coming to us and say, 'Oh, fantastic, you can now get my freight from Trenton, New Jersey to Texas markets in 3 days,'" he said. "That's significant. We couldn't do that historically."
"We are early innings of tapping the full potential of this business," Holzreif said, adding that the roughly 40 facilities opened since 2023 have not yet reached the profitability or density levels the company believes they can achieve.

The South Siders have their ace on the mound, as righthander Sean Burke makes his 20th start of the season. Burke ranks 15th in baseball with 144 strikeouts while holding a 27.4% strikeout rate, ranking in the 81st percentile among MLB pitchers. Burke's excellent extension while walking batters at a lower rate (7.4%) has helped maintain his dominance over the last several starts. In his last seven games, he's posted an excellent 1.74 ERA across 41 1/3 frames with just a 0.92 WHIP, striking out 57 against just nine walks. The White Sox rank last in innings pitched for starting pitchers, so Burke going at least six innings in five of his last six starts has been helpful to keep a struggling offense in games.
With a lefty on the mound against the South Siders, Will Venable is calling on his right-handed hitters to hold it down at the plate tonight. Chase Meidroth is getting a second consecutive day of rest, so Sam Antonacci will slot in at second base, with Randal Grichuk batting cleanup and playing left. Colson Montgomery is also getting an off-day in the field, locking in as the DH with Luisangel Acuña subbing in at shortstop. Brenton Doyle will also continue to lead off with Meidroth out, and he wasn't too shabby the other day, even tallying a couple of hits on Sunday with a stolen base and run scored.

Progressive Rep. Jill Tokuda, D-Hawaii, cruised to victory in her primary on Saturday, setting up a showdown with Republican state Sen. Brenton Awa in November.
Tokuda is seeking a third term representing Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District, which includes the entire state outside the island of Oahu, as well as rural and suburban parts of Oahu itself.

CHICAGO (AP) — Colson Montgomery's 26th homer, a three-run shot, capped Chicago's four-run third inning and the White Sox held on to beat the Cleveland Guardians 5-3 on Sunday.
Munetaka Murakami and Randal Grichuk each doubled in a run as the White Sox won their second straight, increasing their AL Central lead to 3 1/2 games over second-place Detroit. Cleveland and Minnesota fell four games back.
Brenton Doyle had two hits to help Chicago win its 61st game, one more than in 2025 when the team finished last in the American League at 60-102.
Steven Kwan had two hits for the Guardians (58-61), who lost for the fifth time in six games. Kwan and Murakami extended their on-base streaks to 25 games, tied for the longest active run in the majors.
The game was delayed by rain for 2 hours, 23 minutes, after the first inning with the Guardians ahead 2-1. Both managers replaced their starters — Chicago's Davis Martin and Cleveland's Joey Cantillo — when play resumed.

This was so much more than a fan "football fest" to AJ Finley.
The Seahawks had their annual training-camp practice at Lumen Field Saturday night. It's essentially just another practice, the 13th of camp. It generally follows the same format as if the players were drilling yet again on their practice fields and team headquarters along Lake Washington in Renton. But more fans can attend this one.
Almost a year ago to the day, in this same event last year, the 24-year-old Finley had the worst moment of his football life. Emerging on coach Mike Macdonald's defense as a reliable safety in the summer of 2025, Finley fell awkwardly on the Lumen Field turf. He tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. His season was over before it started.
His future as a Seahawk and in the NFL was in jeopardy.
"I went through every emotion you can imagine. Obviously," Finley said Saturday. "You put so much work in, and then it's taken away just like that.

Cooper Kupp and the Seattle Seahawks are preparing for an important ******* le defense, adding another layer of their offense to succeed in their overall objective.
Kupp is gearing up for the 10th season of his career, his second with the Seahawks. He was a full-time starter as he handled the second option duties behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, helping the Seattle reach the mountaintop by winning Super Bowl 60.
Kupp took part in an interview with ESPN's NFL reporter Mina Kimes. They discussed key aspects of the Seahawks that will be crucial to their Super Bowl chances this season, something the star receiver made sure to go into detail about the revamped offensive game plan.
"I think the whole point of it is you don't motion, you don't do all this stuff just because people say you should do it," Kupp explained to Kimes. "There's gotta be a purpose behind it, there's gotta be something you're gaining out of it and I think that's something that we're learning right now, where are the places, we're gaining intel, we're giving ourself leverage. There's no point going out there and moving around and having guys running around before the snap just to run around. But I think we've done a great job of it."

The Seattle Seahawks held their eighth public training camp practices early Friday morning, a special practice for season ticket holders and their guests. It was another warm day at team headquarters in Renton, albeit less smoky and hazy than earlier in the week. Much like Wednesday's practice, the Seahawks were not in pads, and indeed they mixed things up with the 11 vs. 11 sessions. There was first-team offense vs. second-team defense, third-team offense vs. first-team defense, the usual 1s vs. 1s and 2s vs. 2s, plus a lot of situational football like red zone and 3rd-and-long work that often decides actual games.
For the second time this week, Field Gulls was on-site at VMAC observing what was just about a three-hour long practice. Myself and fellow Field Gulls staff writer and host of The Hawks Eye podcast, Bryce Coutts, as well as Seahawks Forever podcast host, Dan Viens, filmed an instant reaction video after practice ended with our quick-fire takeaways. We discuss the absence of Jadarian Price (which we now know is due to "lower body soreness" per Gregg Bell), the impressive performances of Emanuel Wilson and Ricky White III, a name to watch at the edge, and a promised wrinkle in Brian Fleury's offense that we saw heavily worked on in today's practice.
Oh yeah, and there's a new fullback here who's already getting into the swing of things. Here's new fullback Brock Lampe with RBs coach Thomas Hammock.
This is only a 7-minute video, which should make it digestible for everyone who's able to have a listen! But tonight's big event for us is the Seahawks Syndicate Town Hall Q&A, which goes live at 7:30 pm PT on YouTube and will also be available to watch on Field Gulls! We'll be talking camp, Seahawks football in general, doing some trivia, and a bunch of other fun stuff for our in-person studio audience at Fast Fashion Brewing in SoDo. The Seattle Seahawks held their seventh of 10 public training camp practices on Wednesday. It was another warm (and, due to the wildfire smoke, hazy) day at team headquarters in Renton, and the VMAC berm was filled to capacity yet again for what was a non-padded practice for the reigning Super Bowl champions. While the pads may not have been there, there was still a lot to take in.
Field Gulls was on-site at VMAC observing what was just about a 2.5-hour long practice. Myself and fellow Field Gulls staff writer and host of The Hawks Eye podcast, Bryce Coutts, filmed a quick reaction video after practice ended (from outside The Pro Shop in Renton, we were in a hurry to get to SoDo!) with our immediate takeaways and ****** ysis. Over a nice and tight five minutes, we discussed how well the defense performed, the Sam Darnold-Rashid Shaheed connection, an interesting name to watch at safety, Nehemiah Pritchett's increased role with the starters, Rylie Mills' versatility, and the work in progress that is a rebuilding running game.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are being featured on the HBO series "Hard Knocks" for the first time in franchise history, and it didn't take long for some someone to stir the pot.
Last Friday, Seahawks linebacker Derick Hall put offensive lineman Bryce Cabeldue into a chokehold and body-slammed him during a fight in practice that was shown on the first episode, which debuted Tuesday night. Cabeldue and linebacker Tyrice Knight shoved one another before Hall brought Cabeldue to the ground.
Following Wednesday's practice, Hall acknowledged that things got out of control, but he said he and his teammates have since made up.
"At the end of the day, we all love each other," Hall said. "We're a team. We are a brotherhood. At the end of the day, it happened out here. We go in the locker room, you know, 'Hey man, I apologize, that was beyond the line of where we're trying to go, where we trying to get.' And we move forward."
During the episode, defensive coordinator Aden Durde revealed to coach Mike Macdonald that fullback and special teams captain Brady Russell had egged Hall on. According to Durde, Russell said Hall, who signed a $42 million, three-year contract extension in June, had changed because of his new deal.

It was another day of Seattle Seahawks training camp in Renton, albeit not in the best of conditions. The terrifying and deadly wildfires in Spokane have impacted and will impact the Seattle area throughout the week. Winds have blown the wildfire smoke in a westerly direction, which has decreased the air quality through thick throughout Western Washington on an otherwise very warm Tuesday. With Wednesday's forecast set to be worse in terms of air quality, there is a chance that practice could be held indoors, but we'll see how it goes. As I type this from my hotel room in Renton, the air quality index (AQI) is a moderate 99, but that's borderline unhealthy.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to everyone affected in the Spokane region.

The defense barks back
If you've read previous recaps and just watched the season premiere of 'Hard Knocks', you would think the Seahawks offense was making the Seahawks defense look like it was 2023 all over again. And while there's perhaps a kernel of truth there given Mike Macdonald's palpable dissatisfaction with the defensive performances in practice (including the first padded one), the NFL's best defense was not going to just roll over.
