European football officials have issued a renewed directive on the use of Video ****** istant Referees (VAR), stressing that the technology should only intervene in cases of "blatantly incorrect" decisions or clear missed incidents.
The move follows a significant meeting last week involving referee chiefs from all 55 national ****** ociations and representatives from the International Football ****** ociation Board (Ifab), the body responsible for the game's laws.
The consensus reached aims to streamline officiating and reduce the impact of lengthy reviews.
A Uefa release stated: "VAR must only intervene in situations of 'clear and obvious' error, i.e. when a referee decision is blatantly incorrect or when the referee has missed a clear incident. VAR is not meant to re-referee the game, it is an essential support to the referees, who must remain at the centre of all decision-making. Lengthy, microscoping reviews are often a symptom revealing that the decision on the field was not clearly and obviously incorrect, and should therefore be limited."

Yes -- by the numbers, Wall Street is treating Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) as close to fully valued going into next week's report. The average price target on the stock is $570.60, about 9% above Friday's close of $521.95.
That cushion is thin for a stock this well-liked. Of the 51 ***** ysts covering AMD, 41 rate it a buy, 10 rate it a hold, and none rate it a sell. Nearly everyone recommends the stock. Almost ***** ody's math leaves room for much upside.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Additionally, published targets stretch from $320 to $1,250, so there's no shortage of disagreement about where the chipmaker is headed. But the average lands close to where the stock already trades.
The stock's valuation multiple explains the caution. At about $522, AMD trades at about 170 times earnings and about 59 times forward earnings estimates, with a market capitalization of about $851 billion. The trailing figure reflects where the profits were over the past year. The forward one ***** umes the growth keeps coming.

These are unprecedented times, with companies pumping hundreds of billions of dollars into capital expenditures -- data centers, GPUs, and other infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI). It's an arms race of sorts, and companies are spending first and asking questions later in fear of missing out on their share of AI adoption.
Two groups of AI stocks have formed within this capex boom. On one side are the AI hyperscalers, big tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Alphabet. On the other side are neoclouds, companies such as CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) and Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS), that build specialized GPU data centers and sell the computing power.

Knowing which group actually wins in the big picture is crucial to deciding where to invest your dollars.
Neocloud companies build specialized GPU data centers, engineered from the ground up for AI workloads. That specialization gives them cost advantages over hyperscalers building more generalized data centers for a broader range of applications. The rampant demand for AI compute is fueling blistering growth at neocloud companies such as CoreWeave and Nebius, where ***** ysts expect revenue to multiply over the next couple of years.

Folksy wisdom holds that the surest way to make money during a gold rush was to sell shovels rather than swing picks. As with many emerging industries, quantum computing could be reviving that old dynamic, at least for a while, and it's no surprise why.
In particular, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), and Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) -- none of which earn a meaningful sum from quantum yet -- could prove to be the best upstream providers to the quantum computing industry. The whole industry could be worth as much as $4.4 billion by 2028, according to research by McKinsey, up from being worth $1 billion today.

Dell stock has benefited from a significant acceleration in revenue and earnings growth this year, primarily fueled by booming demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) servers. The good news for investors is that it isn't too late to buy Dell, as it is trading at an extremely attractive valuation even after its stunning rally in 2026.

A decade ago, Seattle was the poster child of American tech prosperity. Amazon and Microsoft had turned a midsize Pacific Northwest city into a magnet for engineers, executives, and capital, adding roughly 40,000 jobs per year at the peak of the boom, according to the Puget Sound Regional Council.
Today, more than one-third of downtown Seattle's office **** e sits empty, its job postings have collapsed faster than almost any other U.S. metro, and even Starbucks—the coffee giant founded in the city in 1971—is shifting jobs south to Nashville, as it commits to a $100 million, 2,000-person new footprint in Music City. The story of Seattle's reversal unfolds in three overlapping arcs: an office market in free fall, a labor market that has gone from boom to bust, and a policy environment that has made survival harder for the small businesses left behind.
Seattle's downtown office vacancy rate hit 35.6% in the fourth quarter of 2025, up from 32.3% a year earlier, according to Cushman & Wakefield data. That marks a stunning reversal from the pre-pandemic era: As recently as early 2025, the central business district's availability rate—offices with departures pending—and vacancy rate were already hitting all-time highs based on CoStar data stretching back to 1982.
Some brokers put the number even higher, with Colliers reporting vacancy touching 39.1% in late 2024 as remote work, tech layoffs, and cautious leasing decisions compounded. Office building values in the district have plunged sharply as a result, with landlords struggling to fill **** e abandoned by major tenants.
The office crisis is inseparable from a broader collapse in hiring. Seattle metro job postings fell 35% between February 2020 and October 2025, the second-steepest drop of any major U.S. metro after San Francisco's 37% decline, according to Axios's **** ysis of Indeed data.

The Red Sea heated up as the rising front in the U.S.-Iran war as Houthi rebels on Sunday attacked two refinery and export sites on Saudi Arabia's west coast. U.S. supplied Patriot missiles reportedly intercepted two ballistic missiles targeting oil installations in Yanbu. Damage to the Saudi refinery in Jizan was unconfirmed, but Al Jazeera reported a large column of smoke following the attack.
In Iran, as of Sunday morning, no new air attacks by U.S. or Israeli forces were reported since Friday.
But the Houthi-Saudi escalation appears set to make the Red Sea's choke-point effect on oil prices, supplies and tanker day rates central to the coming week's market action. Another focal point will be the Federal Reserve and its stance on rate hikes.
But the most prominent discussions will probably involve the balance sheets and artificial intelligence-related spending levels of Magnificent 7 names Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN), Microsoft (MSFT) and Meta Platforms (META), all of which report during the week.
Shares of Alphabet (GOOGL) dived nearly 8% and broke critical technical support last week as spending levels and guidance disappointed investors. That played a large role in dragging the Nasdaq below its early June lows, setting the stage for the index to dive to a test of support at its 200-day moving average.

Marvell Technology (NASDAQ: MRVL) has emerged as a strong AI investment candidate throughout 2026. It has a great bull thesis and is right at the heart of the AI buildout.
Furthermore, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has invested $2 billion into Marvell and announced several strategic partnerships to ensure that Nvidia's computing units function on Marvell's products. X-Energy (XE) is back in the spotlight on Wednesday after gaining 7.22% on intraday trading following news that it will participate in a Trump administration-backed initiative aimed at accelerating nuclear reactor deployment for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. However, the stock gave up that quick gain at the closing bell and closed with a 2.03% drop as investors fully digested the news.
This comes after a difficult few months for the advanced nuclear developer, whose shares remain 50% below their April IPO price despite the recent bounce.

Nvidia Corporation's (NVDA) reported decision to delay the launch of its RTX 50 Super due to soaring GDDR7 memory prices may seem like bad news for the GPU market, but it could create an unexpected opportunity for Micron Technology (MU). According to Wedbush, the delay highlights just how tight the memory market has become, reinforcing the pricing power of memory suppliers like Micron rather than signaling weakening demand.
The reported issue is not with Nvidia's GPU chips themselves but with the cost of the new 3GB GDDR7 memory modules used in the upgraded graphics cards. Industry reports suggest these chips now cost roughly three times as much as traditional 2GB modules, making it difficult for Nvidia and its board partners to launch new products without significantly increasing retail prices. So, Nvidia has allegedly postponed the rollout despite hardware already being ready for distribution.

White Falcon Capital Management, an investment fund manager, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy can be downloaded here. The portfolio delivered 8.5% in Q2 2026, trailing the S&P 500 TR's (CAD) 17.3%, MSCI AC TR's (CAD) 16.4%, and the S&P TSX TR's 6.9% returns. The YTD's 1.8% return also trailed the indices. The firm is underwhelmed by the portfolio's performance in the quarter; however, the firm emphasizes long-term performance over short-term results. The firm aims to achieve positive absolute returns adjusted for risk over a complete market cycle. The underperformance is not due to the business fundamentals but the momentum-driven rallies in AI-linked stocks. The firm maintains patience and discipline in capital allocation, with valuation as crucial for long-term returns. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, White Falcon Capital Management highlighted Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD). Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) is a leading semiconductor company that designs and manufactures of AI accelerators, microprocessors, and graphics processing units. On July 22, 2026, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) closed at $552.33 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $900.63 billion. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) posted a one-month return of 0.99%, while its shares gained 231.77% over the past 52 weeks.
White Falcon Capital Management stated the following regarding Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Before we do that, let's talk about Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD). We purchased our initial position in AMD in October 2022 at about $80 per share when the stock was depressed due to weak outlook for its end markets. As is often the case with the market, when it does not like a stock or a sector it discounts it severely and we were able to purchase a cyclical stock (yes, semiconductor stocks were cyclical then!) with a net-cash balance sheet at a depressed multiple of depressed earnings. Our investment was underpinned by our confidence in AMD's management team, its engineering culture, and its ability to consistently deliver competitive products. It turns out that CPU's, AMD's core product, are needed for Agentic AI! The stock took off earlier this year and is currently trading at above $500 per share. From our perspective, the upside we captured was not due to any attempt to predict AI's trajectory, but simply the result of owning a quality company in a secularly growing sector, run by a strong management team at a sensible valuation.
As we've said before, high-quality businesses possess optionality that simply isn't available to mediocre businesses and even as these businesses trade at higher multiples, this optionality is often undervalued. SAN FRANCISCO, July 23 (Reuters) - Advanced Micro Devices is set to launch a raft of AI hardware that will rival Nvidia on Thursday at an event at a downtown convention center in San Francisco.
AMD is attempting to capture market share from Nvidia in the fast-growing data center chip sector, especially for so-called inference computing, which is the data crunching that occurs when a user queries a chatbot such as OpenAI's ChatGPT.
AMD is expected to show off the company's data center hardware that includes its first-generation server racks called Helios, which it is marketing as a rival to a similar design from Nvidia, which is rolling out its second-generation product this year.
The company also is expected to formally launch its Venice central processing unit (CPU) for data centers.

July 23 (Reuters) - European semiconductor stocks moved sharply on Thursday after earnings updates, with Soitec surging on strong photonics demand linked to artificial intelligence applications, while STMicroelectronics and BE Semiconductor Industries (Besi) fell as investors reacted to weaker near-term performance and elevated growth expectations.
Soitec shares jumped around 23% after the French semiconductor materials supplier beat sales expectations by a wide margin and pointed to accelerating demand for photonics wafers used in artificial intelligence applications.
The company guided for revenue growth of more than 30% in the second quarter and said revenue from its Photonics-SOI business was expected to more than double from slightly above $100 million in the prior year.
By contrast, STMicroelectronics fell 15% after reporting quarterly profit below expectations, with investors focused on the pace of recovery in its automotive and industrial markets.

The Dallas Cowboys entered minicamp and the buildup to the start of training camp with a somewhat different feel. While the Cowboys are constantly under the microscope, it's been oddly quiet among ******* ysts and reporters about the team thus far in the offseason. And as the Cowboys and the rest of the NFL gear up for the new season, one interesting move also flew under the radar, as the team decided to hire Dak Prescott's former backup quarterback, Will Grier, to its coaching staff.
ESPN's Todd Archer was the first to break the news that Grier, who retired on July 15, would be joining the staff as an offensive ******* istant. The 31-year-old signal-caller signed with the Carolina Panthers before the draft and, according to Archer, nearly joined the Cowboys coaching staff instead of continuing to play at that point.

Now Grier will reunite with Prescott and the Cowboys ahead of the 2026 NFL season, just in a new role as the longtime quarterback looks to potentially carve out a future career in coaching.

With a year-to-date (YTD) of over 23%, Energy Transfer (ET) is outperforming the S&P 500 Index ($SPX) by a big margin this year. In my previous article, I noted that ET could deliver decent returns in the medium term and discussed the possibility of a rally in Q4 2025. The stock has since risen over 20% even as the gains have come this year instead of in the final quarter of 2025 as I had expected. Nonetheless, with ET stock now up significantly from its 2025 lows, let's explore whether it is still a buy or if it's now too late to enter this midstream energy company.

Soon-to-be former Amazon (AMZN) Web Services (AWS) veteran Dave Brown will be joining Facebook parent Meta (META) to bolster the latter's cloud ambitions. Brown, who was with AWS for 19 years, will leave his post in July, according to internal communications at AWS.

In a note to clients, Matt Bryson of the firm said, "This addition builds on the narrative that Meta is serious in building out its own AI cloud offering (though ostensibly Dave Brown's expertise could be used to support the build-out of infrastructure for internal Meta use as well)."
