On the latest episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart took aim at Donald Trump's rambling speech during the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The president spoke for nearly an hour during the annual event, which was rescheduled for Friday night after a gunman fired shots inside the Washington Hilton in April.

As Kane walked into the Blackhawks Ice Center media room with general manager Kyle Davidson, he greeted reporters, noting "some familiar faces." Kane's longtime girlfriend, Amanda Grahovec, and their 5-year-old son, Patrick Kane III, preceded him, sitting in the front row with grins on both their faces.
The 37-year-old right wing had the two beat with his large smile that lit up the room. He sat in his chair, comfortable and poised as could be.
So no, not weird at all.

John Davidson is keeping his toe in the NHL pool, but the longtime executive and former TV ******* yst is no longer with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Blue Jackets' senior adviser since May 2024 and president of hockey operations in two stints before that is now senior adviser for the Buffalo Sabres, who announced the hiring July 13. The move reunites Davidson, 73, with former Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen, the Sabres' GM whom Davidson hired for that role in Columbus in 2013.
Davidson also fired Kekalainen on Feb. 15, 2024, after the two signed off on the hiring of Mike Babcock as head coach, a stint that lasted just 78 days after the controversial coach was hired July 1, 2023, to succeed Brad Larsen.
Babcock resigned amid allegations that he violated players' privacy by pressuring them to show him photos on their cellphones. It ultimately led to an investigation by the NHL Players' ******* ociation followed by Kekalainen and Davidson taking the fall, with the former's eventual firing and the latter moving to a senior advisory spot in May 2024 after ******* isting a GM search that led to the Blue Jackets hiring Don Waddell as president/GM.

USC women's basketball will have star power this coming season with JuJu Watkins joining Jazzy Davidson and Kennedy Smith. More than that, USC should have cohesion on the court, as Cece Clay explains at her USC Women's Basketball Media Lab.
"This year's offseason feels different," Clay began. "Last year, USC had to move fast. This year, they got to move with purpose. When you look at this roster now, it's clear what the priority was: fit. They needed players who could balance out what was already on the team and address what the gaps/deficiencies were, from this past season, defensively and offensively. And when you look at the additions, that's exactly what they did.
"Ryann Bennett brings stability to the backcourt, but defensively, she also brings something USC wanted. She's a disruptor. She can guard on the ball. She has great hands. She can pressure, bother ball-handlers, and create problems without needing the offense to run through her. That matters because USC didn't just need another guard. They needed a guard who could fit, defend, connect possessions, and bring energy without forcing the game. That's Ryann Bennett.

Palantir (PLTR) stock jumped more than 2% on Thursday after D.A. Davidson ****** yst Gil Luria upgraded it to a Buy rating from Neutral and raised his price target on the stock to $175.
Shares extended gains from the previous session, when it jumped 7% after the company unveiled a new AI partnership with Nvidia (NVDA) focused on government and other security-sensitive customers.
"Palantir has grown into its valuation as profits have soared, and the multiple has come in, providing investors with a gift just in time for the United States of America's 250th birthday," Luria wrote on Thursday morning.
"We believe Palantir's valuation is the most attractive it has been in a while, especially in relation to other high-growth software companies," he added.
Luria noted that while Palantir now trades in line with other AI-focused software companies such as Snowflake (SNOW), Shopify (SHOP), Datadog (DDOG), and CrowdStrike (CRWD), "it is growing twice as fast as any of them."

The Florida women's basketball team will travel to the Bahamas in November to participate in the fifth annual Battle 4 Atlantis along with the Davidson Wildcats, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the West Virginia Mountaineers, the program announced on Wednesday.
Battle 4 Atlantis will take place at Imperial Arena at Atlantis Paradise Island from Nov. 24-26. Matchups, game times and television designations will be announced at a later date.
If the Gators are matched up with the Fighting Irish, it would be the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the hardwood, while Florida and Davidson have met just once before, back on Dec. 29, 2019, when the Orange and Blue prevailed at the O'Connell Center, 55-50.

LOS ANGELES, CA – USC women’s basketball star JuJu Watkins said she is “continuing to get stronger and be ready to play” for the upcoming season.
Watkins spoke to reporters Monday, June 29 as the Trojans are in the midst of its summer camp. While neither Watkins nor USC provided an official status report, or take questions about the star guard's status, Watkins did say she has been able to participate in practices and scrimmages as she continues her journey back to playing for the Trojans.
“I feel great. Really blessed to just be here, getting feeling back to myself, and being able to practice with the team,” she said. “It’s just been a long time coming. I’ve just been working out, grinding every day so that I could be in this position, so to see all that hard work kind of pay off right now, it’s really fulfilling.”

The company delivered revenue of $79.4 million, down from $80.1 million a year ago and below the $79.6 million that ***** ysts forecast. However, the adjusted loss per share of $0.02 was better than the loss per share of $0.08 that the Street anticipated.
Subscription revenue dropped to $69.8 million from $71.4 million a year ago. The brokerage said the decline in subscription revenue was a factor in maintaining the Neutral rating on the stock.

One of the standout players at Florida's Friday Night Lights camp was class of 2027 quarterback commit Davin Davidson out of Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota.
Davidson's 6-foot-7-inch, 210-pound build is interesting enough, but his performance over the summer evaluation cycle has led to increased stock. Most recently, Davidson competed at the Elite 11 Finals, which is considered the top event for quarterbacks over the summer.
As a result, ESPN raised Davidson from the No. 118 spot on its SC NEXT 300 rankings to No. 107. He remains the sixth-best pocket-passing quarterback in the class and jumps inside the top 10 among in-state prospects.
"Davidson hasn't historically wowed evaluators in camp settings, but his skill and upside is obvious on tape, and his more polished fundamentals and mechanics were evident at Elite 11," wrote Craig Haubert and Tom Luginbill. "Davidson's often at his best when improvising, which is tough to evaluate in a structured workout environment, but he appeared more coordinated and played with better timing in 7-on-7 sessions."
Davidson has a good feel for the deep ball already, and he's adding size to his already large frame. Haubert and Luginbill describe him as an "exciting ball of clay to mold" for Jon Sumrall and the new coaching staff at Florida. He won't be on campus for another year, though.
