Henry Phipps built Bessemer Trust in 1907 to professionally manage irrevocable trusts for his five children, and this structure is one that estate lawyers still replicate today.
The 2026 GST exemption hits $15 million per person, letting dynasty trust ******* ets skip transfer taxes across grandchildren and beyond.
Trusts hit the 37% federal tax rate on retained income above just $16,000, compared to $640,600 for individual filers, which makes professional trustees essential.
Building a portfolio and living off one are two completely different skills, and almost ******* ody teaches the second. This problem is what The Definitive Guide to Retirement Income helps, and it is free today. Read more here. (Sponsor)
Henry Phipps co-founded Carnegie Steel with Andrew Carnegie, then spent decades deciding what to do with the money. In 1907, he formed Bessemer Trust as a family office with a staff devoted solely to his family's affairs, and he set up trusts for his five children. The trusts came with professionals hired to run them, and that's the part worth studying. An estate lawyer can still build a modern version, usually called a dynasty trust. Whether a family needs one depends mostly on the size of its estate.

Melyssa Ford spoke out in defense of Jasmine Guy after the actress was ridiculed for her looks amid the release of Netflix's A Different World.
In a video posted to her Instagram on Tuesday (Sept. 22), Ford called out "internet gangsters" for criticizing Guy, 64. "You internet gangsters get on my f**kingnerves," the Hot & Bothered host began, calling Guy "the latest woman to be picked apart for her age."
"Women cannot win for losing," Ford said. "If a woman gets work done, she lacks self-love, she's insecure, she's chasing youth. If she doesn't, she's letting herself go or she's praised for being 'brave' for letting her face do what faces do. 'Brave' for aging."
Ford called "aging naturally" a "privilege," while the alternative is "death." "If you wanna die and live a good-looking corpse, that's on you. But most of us wanna live long, healthy, robust lives and that means getting older. No one calls a f**kingman 'brave' for going gray."

Donald Trump remains a major topic of discussion not only across the nation but also around the world, with attention extending beyond his presidency to his public statements. Whether it is his MAGA agenda or other remarks, some people support the president, while others criticize him. This time, Avengers star Mark Ruffalo has threatened to "Hulk out" over the U.S. president.
On Sunday night, The Avengers star delivered a speech at the Hands Off Our Vote event in New York City, during which he vowed to "Hulk out" over Donald Trump's push to restrict mail-in voting.
During Ruffalo's speech, he sharply criticized Trump. At one point, a fan in the crowd shouted, "You tell 'em, Hulk!" Smiling, the actor responded, "I'm gonna Hulk out."
The actor said, "You won't like me when I'm angry. Hey, I'm still here! They thought I was out for the count — I'm still here, I'm still playing the Hulk."
"He's calling to throw Democrats out of the country. And he means it! The guy means everything he says. I know we're all tired, we are so tired, but we can't give up now … They're going to try and stop us from taking our country back, and we're not going to let 'em. Trump, we're not letting you! Hands off our ****** vote!" Ruffalo said before making his "Hulk out" vow.

Chris Rock said that his problem with "quote, unquote, wokeness" is that it leads to a world that is, in his opinion, less forgiving than it needs to be.
The comedian and "Misty Green" filmmaker stopped by the New York Times' "The Interview" series this weekend and said that while advocating for marginalized communities is great, it needs to come with forgiveness, a huge theme in his new film starring Rosalind Eleazar.
When asked by host David Marchese about the throughline forgiveness has in the film, Rock said that "you don't really realize if you love somebody until you have to forgive them," adding that somebody letting you down or betraying you, but still choosing to be around them, is what true love is.

"I have a friend that's going to be nameless that might have gotten canceled," Rock said. "Another friend of mine was like, 'How can you be friends with that person?' I was like, 'If you're only friends with your friends when they're good, they're not your friends.' If you've got a bunch of people that are only going to be there when you're good, you have no friends. That doesn't mean condoning abusive behavior; you can reprimand your friends. That's also part of friendship."
When pressed by Marchese, who said that everyone has to have a line at some point, the comedian held his ground.
"I'm a Christian, and God forgives," he said. "The problem with quote, unquote, wokeness — and don't get me wrong, it is great that marginalized people have a voice; it is great to advocate for anybody that feels marginalized — but the problem is we're in the Old Testament right now, and the Old Testament has no forgiveness. The Old Testament didn't work, so they had to write a remix called the New Testament."

Mikey Madison turned heads with a daring mix of traditional British tailoring and sultry punk glamour. The rising actress stepped out in a custom dark Vivienne Westwood look styled by celebrity stylist Andrew Mukamal. Pairing vintage-inspired structure with edgy details, she easily commanded the room. Her unique outfit showcases classic Westwood rebellion while bringing a fresh, modern energy to red-carpet dressing.
Madison wore a tailored two-piece look featuring a sharp slate-blue short-sleeved jacket. The structured top boasted wide lapels, neat central **** ons, and a flared peplum waist. A subtle embroidered Vivienne Westwood orb logo sat quietly near her hip. The tailored silhouette hugged her torso closely, creating a classic vintage shape before giving way to the dramatic skirt below.
The asymmetric skirt featured navy and black diagonal bands with an uneven hem. A sheer section appeared beneath one side of the skirt, while black tights continued the dark color palette. She finished the look with dark navy open-toe platform heels
She posed against a grey textured wall, letting her outfit do all the talking. Mikey swept her long brunette hair over her shoulder in loose, cascading waves. She chose soft, natural makeup with rosy cheeks, defined eyes, and a satin pink lip. She kept her accessories minimal, opting for delicate silver earrings so the structured clothing remained the main focus.
Mikey proves that structured tops and provocative skirts can coexist beautifully. Stylist Andrew Mukamal highlighted Westwood's signature corsetry details while embracing a moody aesthetic. Mikey walked the line between retro sophistication and edgy gothic glamour with complete confidence. She continues to solidify her position as a true fashion risk-taker to watch

Sofia Vergara delivered one of her most elegant looks while attending Bulgari's latest dinner event. The Colombian actress later shared glimpses from the evening on Instagram, giving fans a closer look at her archival Roberto Cavalli ensemble. Vergara effortlessly turned heads in a plunging, string-strap moment, proving once again that vintage glamour can make the biggest impact.
For the outing, Sofia Vergara wore a Roberto Cavalli gown in a black and gold baroque floral print. The fitted design featured a plunging neckline held up by thin spaghetti straps. The bodice followed her figure before flaring into a ruffled mermaid hem.
The actress complemented the statement dress with Bulgari's Tubogas Clutch. Vergara carried the bag in black leather, though the design is also sold in a gold striated calf leather colorway, priced at €6,500. The iconic Tubogas handle, done in gold-plated brass, comes embellished with colored cabochon stones and zirconia across both versions.
Vergara layered in Bvugari's Serpenti Necklace, a two-coil design crafted in 18kt rose gold. The piece features 3.63 carats of pavé diamonds along the snake's head and tail, with black onyx eyes finishing the design. Made in Italy with a 40cm chain, the necklace retails for $90,000.
She also added a gold cuff bracelet to her wrist, layering in one more dose of shine alongside the Serpenti piece. Her glam stayed warm and glowing, featuring bronzed skin, softly sculpted cheeks, and a glossy nude lip. Vergara wore her dark brunette hair down in loose waves, letting it fall freely past her shoulders. The look was shared on Instagram, with the post crediting the vintage Roberto Cavalli gown alongside both Bulgari pieces by name.

On September 9, 2026, ****** og Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADI) agreed to acquire privately held Alif Semiconductor for $1.35 billion in cash, with up to $200 million in additional contingent payments. It adds Alif's low-power, AI-native microcontrollers and fusion processors to ADI's portfolio of sensing, signal-processing and power-management technology. ADI CEO Vincent Roche described the deal as advancing "Physical Intelligence," letting systems sense, reason and act locally in real time. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of 2026 pending U.S. antitrust review.
Alif gives ****** og Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADI) a direct foothold in the fast-growing edge-AI market. Alif's AI-native microcontrollers and fusion processors support low-latency inference, sensor fusion, and on-device AI. It allows systems to process information locally rather than relying entirely on the cloud. The acquisition also expands ADI's addressable market across industrial, data-center infrastructure, defense, energy, robotics, digital health and wearable applications.
ADI is acquiring technology that already has commercial traction. Alif's silicon already ships in production and has design wins with leading consumer and industrial customers. It gives ADI an established platform rather than an early-stage technology project. ADI can combine Alif's digital processing capabilities with its own sensing, signal-processing, power, connectivity and software technologies to offer more complete system solutions.
The acquisition fits ADI's push into AI while the core business makes strong cash flow. ADI completed its $1.5 billion Empower Semiconductor acquisition in July to strengthen power delivery for AI computing, while third-quarter revenue reached a record $4.02 billion, up 40% year over year, and trailing 12-month free cash flow reached $4.94 billion. The Alif deal therefore adds edge intelligence to an AI strategy while ADI retains substantial financial capacity to fund acquisitions and shareholder returns.
Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADI) must make enough returns to justify the $1.35 billion upfront price. The firm will pay $1.35 billion in cash at closing and could pay another $200 million in contingent consideration. It takes the potential consideration to $1.55 billion. ADI therefore needs Alif's technology, customer wins, and expanded addressable market to turn into real revenue and earnings growth rather than simply adding another promising technology platform to its portfolio.

Credit card companies are racing to claim a place at the checkout when AI agents start shopping on behalf of consumers—even as shoppers remain skeptical of letting bots spend their money.
Mastercard rolled out a payment option Thursday that lets people give an AI agent a virtual card and allow it to buy things online without checking in before each purchase. Cardholders can limit how much it spends, restrict which retailers it buys from, or require approval before checkout.
"This is a land grab for infrastructure standards," Phil Bruno, chief strategy and growth officer at payments company ACI Worldwide, told Fortune. "If they set the standards for agentic commerce, they can keep the commerce in their environments for decades to come."
Rival Visa partnered with Alchemy earlier this year and has also announced its own AI shopping and payment product, Visa Intelligent Commerce, which the company says is still being deployed. Similarly, Meta has Muse, which can search for products and navigate checkout, but presents the purchase for the user's final approval.
It seems, though, that shoppers appear far more interested in using AI to find a deal than letting it pay. Just 7% of U.S. and U.K. consumers surveyed who buy fashion items said they would allow an AI ***** istant to make purchases without approval under predefined conditions, according to research commissioned by ACI Worldwide. More than half said they were uncomfortable allowing AI to purchase on their behalf.

Inquiring about Walmart Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) on September 10, a caller asked if they should "keep it." Mad Money host Jim Cramer replied:
I got to tell you, this one is a short and long-term, okay? Short-term, I think I know what Walmart's doing. I think that they're letting their customers have a big break. They're not passing along all of these costs. That is going to earn them tremendous love when things get better. So the wise situation is to say this: Walmart trades at 36 times earnings. It deserves to trade lower just because of what's happening at the company now and higher what's happening at the company when this inflation bout ends. So you buy some at $106, $105, and then buy some at $95. And yes, it could trade to $95. It does not have yield support. This is not like Target, which had that yield support. Target's doing better than Walmart right now. It is.
Walmart Inc.'s (NASDAQ:WMT) second-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue rose 5.9% year over year to $187.9 billion, while global e-commerce sales increased 23%. Global advertising revenue rose 38%, and membership-fee revenue increased 17% globally. Walmart U.S. comparable sales, excluding fuel, grew 2.6%. The company is also using tariff refunds to support lower prices. It said tariff refunds increased its gross profit rate during the quarter, while price investments partially offset the benefit.
Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) has stronger recent comparable-sales momentum. Its second-quarter sales rose 5.3%, comparable sales increased 3.8%, and traffic rose 3.6%. The company also raised its full-year sales-growth outlook to approximately 5%. Its second-quarter GAAP and adjusted EPS were $4.11, including a $1.65 benefit from tariff refunds. Excluding tariff refunds, GAAP and adjusted EPS increased 20% year over year. CEO Michael Fiddelke said Target had reduced prices on more than 10,000 frequently purchased items over the past year and acknowledged that "there's still meaningful work ahead."
Walmart Inc.'s (NASDAQ:WMT) biggest risk is valuation. Its premium forward PE of 36.76 leaves the stock more exposed if U.S. comparable-sales growth remains modest while the company continues investing in prices. Walmart's 2.6% U.S. comparable-sales growth also trails Target's 3.8%.

Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa spent the summer keeping Republican Gov. Greg Abbott within arm's reach — never letting him lead by more than a few points.
However, two new polls disagree on whether that's still true, and the answer may decide how competitive the race really is.
A Sept. 15 poll from Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. showed that Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is leading his Democratic challenger, Gina Hinojosa, by 7 points, 48% to 41%, with 8% of voters undecided.
The Mason-Dixon had a 4-point margin of error, with Libertarian Pat Dixon at 1% and Independent Jenn Mack Raphoon at 2%. It surveyed 625 registered Texas voters Sept. 8-10 who said they are likely to vote in the November 2026 election.
The poll follows a Sept. 13 poll from SoCal Strategies that showed Abbott still in a strong position in his bid for a fourth term, leading Hinojosa 52% to 44%.

As we have seen the past two years, a 12-team playoff is forgiving when it comes to early season losses. An early stumble does not have to result in panic as the expanded field allows for a mulligan or two – or three.
The above serves as ample reason as to why fans in Columbus and Eugene should turn the page and look ahead at what's next. While we are at it, what to make of a couple of other Big Ten teams after two weeks?
While Arch Manning rallied the Longhorns from a 23-3 deficit after three quarters to stun Ohio State and replace the Buckeyes atop the polls, Ryan Day's team is not about to disappear from the playoff conversation. There is much sting for sure in blowing a 20-point lead, but the larger picture is one that must be in focus because everything remains on the table.
Besides, fans in Columbus, perhaps more than any fan base in the country, know what it is like to have their team rebound following a most disappointing setback. See the 2024 loss against "The Team Up North" and what happened after that.
Those same fans likely desired to see their team keep its foot on the Longhorns' throat instead of letting up. Facing a fourth-and-four from the UT 39-yard line on the first series of the second half and with a 20-3 lead, Day elected to punt instead of attempting to keep the drive alive. The decision was made despite the outstanding first halves enjoyed by QB Julian Sayin (12-for-16, 192 yards) and receiver Jeremiah Smith (6-110). It is easy to Monday morning quarterback, though it is also easy to see the Buckeyes managed less 100 yards on only 22 plays the remainder of the game.

Texas football news: Robert Griffin III says Longhorns let Arch Manning down appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Texas Longhorns took on the Ohio State Buckeyes Saturday night in a star-studded affair that saw Kevin Durant testing his quarterback skills and Matthew McConaughey narrating an exciting hype video. Texas QB Arch Manning took the field in a matchup against budding rival Julian Sayin but had a rough first half as Ohio State seized a 23-3 lead headed into the fourth quarter.
Manning threw an interception that fans couldn't believe, as he lofted a well-placed pass that was bobbled, dropped, and picked off. With just 60 yards at halftime, Manning's performance was heavily scrutinized, while former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Pro Bowler pointed the finger at his Longhorns teammates.
"Texas' WRs are letting Arch Manning down," Griffin III said matter-of-factly as the game continued to progress.

Lil Durk remains in jail despite his Friday acquittal.
On 11 September, a Los Angeles federal jury found the rapper, whose real name is Durk Banks, not guilty of orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot that resulted in the death of a man in Los Angeles four years ago.
Prosecutors have confirmed he will remain in custody until his racketeering case, tied to the 2022 shooting death of Stephon Mack, is also resolved. That second trial on racketeering murder and firearms charges is scheduled for 5 October.
Longtime nemesis and fellow rapper 6ix9ine found a way to throw shade at Durk despite Chicago rapper's win in court.
6ix9ine had planned to throw a 'Lil Durk Going Away Party' in the event of a guilty verdict, and still held a celebration of sorts.
Posting a video on Instagram of him letting off fireworks and popping champagne, he reacted to the decision while mocking Durk about his deceased brother, Dontay 'DThang' Banks, and rapper King Von, who was signed to Durk's label, Only the Family.

Gennaro Gattuso is proud of his Lazio side after their 2-2 draw with Milan, claiming that "seeing the team not give up pleases me," as he comments that the empty Stadio Olimpico makes it "feel like the COVID period" as Biancocelesti fans continue to protest against owner Claudio Lotito.
The Aquile thought that they were on track for the perfect start to the Serie A season, as they were leading 2-0 at half-time through Matteo Cancellieri and Tijjani Noslin goals.
Speaking to DAZN, via TuttoMercatoWeb, Gennaro Gattuso was left frustrated but not despondent by the collapse. It would've been four wins out of four, but Diego Moreira came off the bench and scored twice in 120 seconds to get Milan back on track.
"In the second half, they came out with their quality," Gattuso said. "Playing the way we want to play for 90 minutes is hard, we dropped deep at the start of the second half and we struggled. That is also understandable because we conceded two goals I would describe as wonder strikes. We were also good not to get hammered, the feeling was that we could have conceded another two."
Lazio have never in their history started with four consecutive Serie A victories, and that record won't happen this season either, as Milan came back for the 2-2 result. Gattuso, though, took encouragement from how his players reacted to letting a two-goal lead slip.

Tucker Kraft remains one of the Green Bay Packers' biggest unresolved situations heading into Week 1. Green Bay has yet to reach an agreement on a contract extension with the young tight end, while the team also awaits a timetable for Josh Jacobs' potential NFL discipline amid his legal issues.
Adam Schefter weighed in on Kraft's contract talks with Green Bay, urging the tight end to think twice before walking away from guaranteed money that could be available to him.
"He's coming off a torn ACL and the Packers have a relatively strong offer out there. I think it's hard coming off an ACL to turn down real money," the NFL ****** yst commented during his appearance on The Pat McAfee show.

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Myles Garrett finally acknowledged his knee injury is more serious than he had been letting on after his quiet debut for the Los Angeles Rams in their season-opening defeat in Australia.
The reigning AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year made zero tackles and no impact on the game during the Rams' 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Friday.
Although Garrett missed much of training camp and the Rams' recent weeks of practices to rest his knee, the superstar and the Rams had not floated the possibility he would be unable to play at his best when he began his 10th NFL season. Before his 15-hour flight back to LA, Garrett finally acknowledged he isn't at 100% health.
"This was the worst version of myself that I've put out there, and I've got to be better," Garrett said at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. "I've got to find a way to recover and get back to the player I know I can be and I've shown that I've been before."
Garrett didn't want to discuss details of his knee or his overall health after finishing without a tackle for only the fourth time in 135 career NFL games. He wouldn't even say which knee is injured.

The phrase 'AI weapons' often conjures images of machines making life-and-death decisions without human oversight. Xtend AI Robotics, Inc. Common Stock CEO Aviv Shapira believes that narrative has outpaced reality. While autonomy is advancing rapidly across modern defense systems, he argues the industry's trajectory is not about removing humans from the battlefield, but enabling them to make better decisions by letting AI handle speed, complexity and dangerous tasks.
Shapira rejected the idea that autonomous weapons are headed toward fully independent lethal decision-making. "That is a misconception, at least in terms of where the industry is today," he told Benzinga in an exclusive email interview.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has never been shy about speaking his mind, and as he enters what he is adamant will be his final season in the NFL, Rodgers is making it clear that he's letting whatever comes to mind fly.
In a two-part interview on teammate Cam Heyward's Not Just Football with Cam Heywardpodcast, Rodgers did not mince words about his feelings toward ESPN, doubling down on his criticism of the network during the Steelers' training camp.
"ESPN is really scared," Rodgers ***** erted. "Because I can speak up and speak my mind. And that McAfee thing rattled their feathers because I didn't just say that on McAfee's show—honestly, I love Pat, and he's done more for that network than any other horrible show they have on there—they should pay those guys doing it.
"But I also said, 'you're a gutless organization,' because they haven't said anything. They spend so much time on certain issues, but you won't talk one second about the Danny Russini situation?"
Rodgers also made it clear how he feels about former President Barack Obama and the lack of impact he had on the Black community, as well as where current President Donald Trump's loyalties actually lie.

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands didn't just show up at a cattle farm in Veenhuizen this week — she turned it into a runway. Joining King Willem-Alexander for a visit to a dairy operation in the province of Drenthe, Máxima swapped her usual ****** nal of bold colors, oversized volumes and unexpected jewelry for something different: a distinctly autumnal palette. The effect landed somewhere between countryside and cinema — a queen in brown and burgundy, topped with a dramatically tilted wide-brimmed hat and tasseled earrings, standing among cows and calves.

In true Máxima fashion, there was room for a laugh amid the pageantry. One of the farm's calves had been born just minutes before the royal couple arrived, and Máxima was given the honor of naming it. Her options: Wilhelmina or Máxima. "Then, Máxima," she said, laughing.
The queen's midi-length brown dress leaned into a silhouette tailor-made for the shift into fall weather. A round neckline left room for a subtle, elegant hint of décolletage, while the sleeves — constructed in small cape-like layers — gave the whole look a sense of movement with every step.
The most flattering detail sat at the waist, where gentle gathering pulled the fabric in just enough to define her shape before letting the skirt fall freely. The dress needed no further embellishment: between the sleeve volume and the cape's motion, it carried plenty of presence on its own.

Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has launched another scathing attack on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), accusing the governing body of playing a major role in the national team's recent struggles.

Ajmal, who claimed 362 wickets across international cricket for Pakistan before his career was brought to an early end by an issue with his bowling action, has repeatedly expressed his frustration with the PCB. The former spinner has maintained that the board failed to support him during a difficult phase of his career.

His latest criticism comes after Pakistan suffered another heavy defeat against England in the Lord's Test. Following the loss, the PCB made a series of sweeping changes, sacking head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul while also sending seven players back home.

Among those sent back was Imam-ul-Haq, who did not bat in either innings and was subsequently accused of faking his calf injury.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi later attempted to defend the players and urged critics to stop demotivating the team. Ajmal, however, questioned the sincerity of that message and instead accused the board itself of undermining Pakistan's cricketers.

"The board itself has demotivated the players more than anyone else. The board is not letting any player stand. There are players who have done well, who have also been dropped. There are players who have been humiliated by the PCB," Ajmal said.
The former Pakistan spinner also directed his criticism towards Director High Performance and selector Aaqib Javed and white-ball head coach Mike Hesson.

With Hesson also asked to take charge of the Test side for the third match against England, Ajmal claimed the pair have significant control over Pakistan cricket and held them responsible for the team's current situation.

"Aaqib Javed and Mike Hesson (who has been asked to take over the Test team for the third Test) are a team. These two are controlling everything and are responsible for this whole mess. The whole issue is about egos," Ajmal said on Samaa TV.

Ajmal further criticised the PCB's long-term planning, claiming Pakistan's cricket structure had regressed considerably.

"Our team has gone back 10 years. We have not planned for the future," he added.

Pakistan have already surrendered the Test series against England and are now facing the prospect of a clean sweep. The third and final Test is scheduled to begin at Edgbaston on Wednesday, with Hesson set to take charge of the Test side.
Naqvi, meanwhile, had earlier attempted to explain the reasoning behind the PCB's decision to make such extensive changes after the Lord's defeat.

Speaking to Geo Network, the PCB chairman insisted that the decisions were not motivated by personal issues and said the board had little choice when players were not producing results.

"Every match of a series is important for us, and we are not left with any option if a player is not performing but to look for his replacement. The

On August 5, OraSure Technologies (NASDAQ:OSUR) reported second-quarter 2026 results that included its first GAAP net income in years, a headline number of $6.2 million versus a $19.7 million loss a year earlier. Revenue of $30.6 million beat the company's own guidance range and climbed 9.7% from the prior quarter. But look past the top line and the story splits in two, one part driven by real operating progress, the other by an accounting adjustment tied to a regulatory setback.
Some of this quarter's improvement came from actual operations. Gross margin expanded to 43.5% on a GAAP basis, up from 42.1% a year earlier, and non-GAAP gross margin rose to 44.2% from 43.2%. Diagnostics revenue grew 1% year over year to $19.4 million, helped by higher syphilis test sales and the addition of BioMedomics' Sickle SCAN product line. OraSure also picked up two regulatory wins during the quarter. In June 2026, the FDA cleared its Colli-Pee Dx urine collection kit for use with Roche's **** ually transmitted infection tests, letting patients collect samples at home instead of in a clinic.
The following month, the FDA granted Emergency Use Authorization for the second-generation OraQuick Ebola 2.0 Rapid Antigen Test, which can detect all four Ebola virus strains known to cause disease in humans. Cash used in operating activities improved to $23.8 million over the first six months of 2026, down from $30 million a year earlier, a sign the cash burn is easing. The company also kept buying back stock, repurchasing $22 million of shares, or 7.7 million shares, against its $40 million authorization, retiring more than 10% of shares outstanding.
The GAAP profit that headlines this quarter didn't come from the business getting more profitable. It came almost entirely from a $22.6 million reduction in a contingent consideration liability, an accounting entry triggered when OraSure updated its regulatory submission plan for the CT/NG test on its Sherlock platform. Strip that adjustment out and the underlying trend looks different. Non-GAAP operating loss widened to $14.7 million from $13.2 million a year earlier, and non-GAAP net loss came in at $13.8 million, roughly in line with last year's $14.2 million loss. The regulatory event behind that accounting gain is itself a setback.
In July, OraSure withdrew its InteliQuick CT/NG molecular self-test submission after receiving FDA feedback, meaning the product's path to market is now delayed while the company prepares a future resubmission. Total revenue for the quarter was still down 2% year over year, and core revenue, which excludes COVID-19 and Risk **** sment Testing, was flat. Six-month revenue fell 4% to $58.6 million. Sample Management Solutions revenue stayed flat year over year at $9.9 million, showing no growth driver of its own. Cash and equivalents fell to $161 million at quarter-end from $199.3 million at the end of 2025, pulled down by continued buybacks and cash used in operations.

No withdrawal order eliminates RMDs from a traditional IRA. Only Roth conversions, qualified charitable distributions, or never owning one in the first place can genuinely shrink them.
IRMAA surcharges hit Medicare premiums two years after the income that triggers them, jumping joint filers from $203 to $284 monthly by crossing $218,000 MAGI.
Letting an IRA compound untouched through your 60s forces larger RMDs at 73, often pushing retirees into higher brackets and through IRMAA cliffs simultaneously.
Read More: Avoid these 13 retirement mistakes before they derail your future (sponsor)
A $2.1 million nest egg split evenly between a taxable brokerage account and a traditional IRA can throw off a six-figure income. What most retirees miss is that where each holding sits and when each dollar comes out determine whether Medicare surcharges and a swollen required minimum distribution eat that income a decade later.

Saturday marked the debut of the Will Stein era for Kentucky Football, and boy, was it a fun one.
Thanks to six touchdowns and 506 yards of total offense, the Wildcats put this one out of reach early and never looked back en route to a 45-13 victory over Youngstown State.
The Penguins were held to a mere two touchdowns, while Kentucky had just two possessions that did not end with points
All in all, it was a great day of football in the Bluegrass to kick off what hopes to be a fun era under Coach Stein.
After the game, you could tell Stein was emotional about his first win as a head coach, even letting a few f-bombs drop during postgame interviews.
