The wrestling landscape is as strong as it's ever been at the moment with both WWE and AEW having big followings.
As well as the likes of New ****** an Pro Wrestling, TNA and other smaller promotions, wrestling in general is in a strong place, with WWE leading the way as always.
For the WWE, it is the competition of AEW and their ability to pay big money that is the biggest threat right now.
Many have crossed over either to or from WWE to AEW, and much like the late 1990s, there's a feeling of genuine competition between performers.
Nevertheless, it is WWE who remain the behemoth of the wrestling world and according to Dave Meltzer, they are trying to kill off the competition again.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed what he told offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel when he tried to sell him on the offensive coordinator job ahead of the 2026 season.
Prior to Thursday's practice, Harbaugh appeared on the Herd with Colin Cowherd Show and said Justin Herbert is what sold McDaniel on the job.
"Justin Herbert," Harbaugh told Cowherd when he was asked what his sales pitch to McDaniel was.
"The same thing I got so excited about coming here to Los Angeles. When you look at the landscape for proven offensive minds, there were a lot of highly qualified coaches in this hiring cycle, and Mike was at the top of the list."
Harbaugh went on to say that the addition of McDaniel has been better than he thought so far through the first week of training camp.

Football is almost here. In less than 30 days, we'll once again spend every Saturday riding an emotional roller coaster, letting our moods rise and fall based on the performance of our favorite group of 18 to 22-year-old athletes (or, thanks to today's college football landscape, maybe a little older than that).
I'm sure most of you have spent the offseason tracking every recruiting commitment, transfer portal addition, and position battle from spring practice until now. But on the off chance you've managed to enjoy your summer without obsessively refreshing social media, let me tell you something, brother — I've got you covered.
Football and professional wrestling both thrive on larger-than-life personalities. It only feels right to blend the two. So before the Illini march into another season, before Memorial Stadium is rocking, and before every third-and-long has us asking ourselves, "Can you smell what Bret Bielema is cooking?", let's have a little fun.
Some of these comparisons are based on playing style. Some are built on personality. Others are all about aura. Either way, when the lights come on, the crowd is loud, and it's time to play the game, every one of these Illini has a wrestling counterpart. Now, let's hit the entrance music and make our way down the card.
Not the flashiest guy in the room. Technically sound, dependable, and if Illinois wins 9-10 games it'll be because he did everything right.

When Formula E launched in Beijing in 2014, it arrived with a clear mission. Electric racing was intended to demonstrate that battery-powered vehicles could be exciting, fast and commercially viable while promoting a cleaner future for transport. More than a decade later, the landscape has changed dramatically. Electric vehicles are now a mainstream product in many markets, China has become the global center of EV innovation, and conversations around climate change have entered a more fractious mode. The newest electric racing championship, E1, finds itself entering the market at a very different moment. The series, featuring all-electric hydrofoiling RaceBird boats competing in waterfront cities around the world, still promotes clean technology, but its leadership increasingly believes that sustainability is no longer enough to capture public attention. Instead, E1's future may depend on demonstrating that electric propulsion simply delivers a better experience. I talked to E1 (and Formula E) founder Alejandro Agag, Sports.com Predict Team Miami pilots Timmy Hansen and Rianna O'Meara-Hunt, and Sports.com Predict Team Miami team principal Steve Curtis. They described a championship that is rapidly evolving from an environmental showcase into one of the world's most technically fascinating forms of motorsport.
Agag has spent much of his career launching new forms of electric motorsport. Having founded Formula E before turning his attention to Extreme E and now E1, he has witnessed first-hand how attitudes towards electrification have changed. "When we launched Formula E electric was the future," says Agag. "Manufacturers were going full electric. Mercedes came in, BMW, and Audi."
Today, Agag believes the public conversation has moved on. "Sustainability has really lost a lot of its attraction, which is a pity, because the climate problem has not changed, it's worse than before," says Aga. "Activists have been incredibly bad for the cause. To destroy a piece of art or to block a highway has exactly the opposite effect. It really repels people. It produces a divorce between the public and sustainability, because those activists wrongly embody environmentalism."

The Protect College Sports Act of 2026 has been covered primarily through the lens of introducing reform and guardrails into the current landscape of college athletics. The legislation, which has bipartisan support and has been approved by the "Power 2" of the Big Ten and SEC, proposes ideas such as limits on coaching moves, multi-transfer eligibility, and the protection of athletes' rights.
The Act also addresses sports broadcasting by working to maintain antitrust protection for collective college sports broadcast negotiations and "market-level" broadcast access for college football and basketball games, as well as legislation focused squarely on HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges & Universities), per HBCU Gameday.
Title III is the IGNITE HBCUs Sports and Media Act and is aimed at creating competitive grants for long-term improvements to broadband, information technology, and media infrastructure at eligible Black colleges.
The grants could be used to support journalism programs that provide hands-on training for students, or to upgrade equipment to aid in the production, transmission, and distribution of live coverage of college athletic events. The grant period would last between two and five years, with eligible institutions able to apply for and receive multiple grants through a process requiring schools to describe and explain their planned projects and the impact said projects would have on long-term institutional goals.
For a large swath of HBCUs, these grants could address competitive disadvantages stemming from a lack of production infrastructure as athletic conferences lean further into requiring institutions to produce their own games for streaming platforms.

An up-and-coming Real Madrid midfield talent could yet prove to be a key factor in setting the dominoes in motion for Rodri to make his way to the Spanish capital.
The Blancos starlet in question? Jorge Cestero.
Cestero, for his part, is a 20-year-old midfielder, who has long been held in high regard across the Spanish football landscape. This past season, he emerged onto the first-team picture at Real Madrid, ultimately notching three appearances between La Liga and the Champions League.
If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media this week is anything to go by, though, then Cestero could soon see his time in the famed white of Los Merengues brought to a close.
As per a report from transfer market insider Matteo Moretto:

Samantha Morton just revealed why Hollywood stopped calling after The Odyssey. The actress opened up about industry challenges and a painful past firing in a candid new interview.
Samantha Morton recently revealed she hasn't worked for a year since filming Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Morton played Circe, a witch and goddess on the island of Aeaea, in the epic film. She spoke about her career challenges on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
"I haven't worked for a year since making The Odyssey," Morton said on the podcast. She noted that she has "really good agents and a manager." However, she acknowledged the shifting landscape of the entertainment industry. "But at the end of the day, I'm 49. I do believe I'm a good actor, [but] there are other good actors out there," she continued. She added, "The politics of the industry has changed massively."
Morton also discussed being replaced in Spike Jonze's 2013 film Her. She originally read lines on set opposite Joaquin Phoenix for the voice **** istant character Samantha. Scarlett Johansson's voice ultimately replaced Morton's performance in post-production.
"I think my version of Samantha was very… she's English," Morton explained. She praised her replacement, saying, "Scarlett Johansson has a beautiful voice. She's incredibly evocative." Morton admitted the experience was painful despite her gracious response. "It does hurt when you're fired from something," she said. She also wished for "another chance in a booth to do an American accent."

The Premier League predictions for 2026-27 are already beginning to take shape, even with significant business still to be completed before the transfer window closes. Early ***** sments around the division point towards a familiar debate at the top, with Manchester City and ***** nal viewed as the standout contenders, while Liverpool are seen as some way short of mounting a serious challenge.
That outlook comes at a time of considerable change among England's leading clubs. ***** nal enter the new season as reigning champions after ending their long wait for the ***** le in 2025-26. City are embarking on a new era under Enzo Maresca, Liverpool have turned to Andoni Iraola following a difficult campaign and Chelsea are also adjusting to fresh leadership under Xabi Alonso. In that context, pre-season optimism has spread across the league, but the suggestion from Jamie Carragher is that only two clubs should genuinely believe the trophy is within reach.
Photo IMAGO
In his view, the current landscape is relatively clear despite the caveat that the market can still alter the balance. He said: "Where we are right now, and we know there's still a month to go transfer-wise, I can only see ***** nal or City," he said.
That ***** sment places ***** nal and Manchester City in a tier of their own at this stage. ***** nal's consistency last season has carried real weight in shaping expectations, while City's enduring quality has ensured they remain firmly in the conversation even after a managerial change that would be destabilising for most clubs.

Kansas City Chiefs star Creed Humphrey will be the pace-setter at his position in 2026 after the experts at Pro Football Focus ranked him No. 1 overall in their evaluation of NFL centers.
"For the fourth consecutive year, Humphrey reigns atop the NFL landscape at the center position," PFF's Mason Cameron said of Kansas City's star lineman. "No interior blocker has a more consistently elite grading profile over the past five seasons. In 2025, he once again led all centers in PFF Wins Above Replacement (0.544) and overall PFF grade (88.8), finishing as the only center to post grades above 80.0 in both run-blocking and pass protection."
Humphrey gave Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes championship-level protection last season, and will need to do so again in 2026, while also opening running lanes for Kansas City's newly acquired tailback Kenneth Walker III.
Chiefs fans can expect Humphrey to be a key part of Kansas City's front five this season as head coach Andy Reid looks to reinvent his team's offense.

You never like to see injury news in sports, even when it happens to one of your key rivals. On Tuesday, the Big Ten basketball landscape received some huge, awful news as Illinois revealed that star player David Mirkovic underwent foot surgery on July 31.
This is some seismic news that will almost certainly reshape the Big Ten basketball landscape and Michigan State's schedule, as Mirkovic was poised to be one of the star players out of the Big Ten this year for Illinois and a projected NBA Draft lottery pick in 2027, if he decided to leave school. Mirkovic averaged 13.3 points per game as a freshman and even had a 27-point, 21-rebound game early in the season against Colgate, adding to his hype.
We still don't know the extent of what his recovery will entail, so it's hard to speculate. The team did say the surgery was successful and he is expected to make a full recovery, but we don't know he will return to college this year, or ever, at this point.

Manchester United have announced a multi-year partnership with Betway, making the brand the club's new official training kit sponsor and exclusive global betting partner in a record-breaking deal. Michael Carrick is at Old Trafford.
The agreement, valued at £20 million per year, is understood to be the most lucrative standalone training apparel or shirt sleeve sponsorship in world football history. Having operated without a designated training wear sponsor last season, securing this agreement represents a significant commercial triumph for the Old Trafford hierarchy.
The announcement arrives at a pivotal moment for both the club and the broader football sponsorship landscape. With Premier League regulations set to ban gambling companies from appearing as front-of-shirt sponsors starting from the 2026/27 season, betting operators have shifted focus toward secondary commercial inventory—with training kit branding emerging as a primary battleground for global visibility. By securing Betway across their training apparel and digital footprint, United have successfully navigated the upcoming regulatory restrictions while maximising their commercial revenue streams.
Under the terms of the deal, Betway branding will feature prominently across all men's and women's first-team training wear, warm-up gear, and coaching staff apparel. Additionally, as Manchester United's exclusive global betting partner, Betway gains extensive co-branding rights across digital channels, LED perimeter boards at Old Trafford, and international fan engagement campaigns.
The fresh injection of £20 million in annual commercial revenue comes alongside broader financial stabilisation at Old Trafford under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS. Coupled with income generated by returning to the UEFA Champions League, the expanded financial capacity gives manager Michael Carrick crucial flexibility as he builds his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ:AEHR) and C3.ai (NYSE:AI) both aim to capitalize on the artificial intelligence boom, but they operate on opposite ends of the technological spectrum. Which is the better buy?
Aehr focuses on the hardware side, providing essential testing equipment for chips used in high-growth markets like electric vehicles and data centers. C3.ai provides the software layer, helping massive organizations deploy predictive artificial intelligence applications. Both companies are navigating a shifting landscape where rapid innovation meets lumpy revenue cycles.
Aehr Test Systems designs and sells specialized equipment used to test chips at the wafer level to identify defects before they reach final ***** embly. The company is a niche player among semiconductor stocks, providing essential testing equipment for silicon carbide chips. Customer concentration like this adds a layer of risk to the business, as its five largest customers accounted for roughly 70% of net revenues in fiscal 2026.
In FY 2026, revenue reached close to $50.0 million, representing a decline of approximately 15.2% compared to the previous year. This revenue drop contributed to a net loss of roughly $7.1 million for the period. The net margin, which shows how much of each dollar earned becomes profit after all expenses, was nearly -14.3%.
As of its May 2026 balance sheet, the company maintains a current ratio of approximately 10.3x. The current ratio measures a firm's ability to cover short-term debts with short-term ***** ets, with a higher number generally suggesting better liquidity. The debt-to-equity ratio is roughly 0.0x, indicating the company holds negligible debt relative to its shareholder equity while free cash flow was nearly -$5.4 million.

Investors in 2026 face a clear choice between a speculative hydrogen pioneer and a profitable oil giant. Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) and Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY) represent two very different paths in the evolving energy landscape.
Plug Power focuses on the future of green hydrogen and fuel-cell technology, while Occidental Petroleum produces traditional energy while investing in carbon capture. They are compared because they offer different ways to play the energy transition.
Plug Power builds green hydrogen and fuel-cell solutions for global industrial applications. The company focuses on large-scale logistics, providing fuel to the material handling and e-mobility sectors. Walmart is a major customer, representing roughly 24.2% of consolidated revenues as of late 2025, adding a layer of risk to the business.
In FY 2025, revenue reached nearly $709.9 million, reflecting a growth rate of approximately 12.9% over the previous year. Despite this growth, the company reported a net loss of approximately $1.6 billion for the same period. This resulted in a net margin of -229.8%, highlighting the significant costs involved in scaling hydrogen production.
As of its December 2025 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio was 1.0x. This metric, which measures a company's total debt against its shareholder equity, sits at 1.0x, while a current ratio of 2.3x indicates the company has enough short-term **** ets to cover immediate liabilities. However, free cash flow was negative $661.5 million in FY 2025, meaning cash outflows exceeded inflows from operations and capital investments.

When a new season approaches, it is better to focus on what you have rather than lament what you don't have. This is especially true for Duke football fans in 2026. It is time to move forward.
The first thing Duke has is coaching-staff stability. Head Coach Manny Diaz returns for his third season at the helm, with Offensive Coordinator Jonathan Brewer, Defensive Coordinator Jonathan Patke and Special Teams Coordinator Gabe Infante at his side. In today's college football landscape, maintaining all your coordinators is not a given.
Strength and Conditioning Coach David Feeley is back for his fifth season at Duke. He is considered one of the best in the business, and his continued presence is a boon for the program. Feeley previously worked with Coach Diaz at Miami.
There has been movement with some of the position coaches, so Duke has a new Defensive Ends Coach (Trent Harris), and a new Running Backs Coach (Rodney Freeman II), but overall the staff is remarkably stable. Coaching staff stability is a big plus for a program.
Trent Harris comes to Duke from Illinois, where he coached outside linebackers the past two years. Harris played defensive end at Miami under Manny Diaz.

We have put aside all the 7-on-7s, the big man camps, the team getaways into the mountains. And although the mercury disagrees, we've put aside the summer as a whole.
The eight- to nine-month offseason ended Monday with the official start of the 2026 prep football season.
Footballs will be in the air come Aug. 20, and it's less than three weeks until everyone's openers.
What has transpired since we last convened? Plenty.
There is, naturally, the state's new transfer rule. Look, we've always had transfers — they're just going to exist at a greater speed (and, probably, at a larger volume) in our new reality. They'll be a significant part of the 2026 landscape, and they'll surely be part of the discussion throughout the remainder of the summer and into the fall.

With three training camp practices complete for the Jacksonville Jaguars, let's take a look at each positional battle taking place and predict the winner based on what we currently know.
The caveat, of course, is that there are still several weeks of practices and preseason games remaining that can change the current landscape. Also, how the coaches are evaluating these competitions behind the scenes could differ from how the outside world sees things.
That said, what the starting lineups look like in practice and which players are making regular plays provide us with some potential insights into where things stand.
This competition hasn't really taken place with Chris Rodriguez still doing individual work, but Tuten has also capitalized on his opportunities.
For now, I'll defer to Mekari's experience, but as he takes limited practice reps early on, that's creating an opportunity for Wyatt Milum to get a lot of work with the starters, and he's performed well. Once the pads come on, we may have a better indication of where this battle stands, but it does seem to be heating up.

Shane Steichen said on Day 1 that Leonard and Anthony Richardson would rotate with the second-team offense, but on Saturday, Leonard took the bulk of those snaps.
Rookie Seth McGowan has seemingly been the steadier of the two, with Giddens dealing with dropped passes. That said, Giddens bounced back on Saturday and seems to offer more playmaking upside.

The college basketball landscape was rocked by yet another massive rule change over this weekend. A federal judge from Colorado granted an injunction declaring that high school class of 2022 athletes were eligible for a fifth season of play, retroactively applying the NCAA's new five-year eligibility model to this cohort.
Predictably, many fourth-year players are entering the transfer portal to use their additional year of eligibility, including former St. John's guard Oziyah Sellers. On3 reported on Saturday morning that the California native will return to college basketball for one more season.
A member of last year's star-studded transfer class, Sellers averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.6 ****** ists on 42.9% shooting and 35.1% from three last season, leading the Johnnies with 53 three-pointers made.
Sellers went unselected in the 2026 NBA draft and suited up for the New York Knicks in last month's NBA Summer League, recording 5.8 points per game in five appearances off the bench.
Unlike fellow seniors Zuby Ejiofor and Bryce Hopkins, Sellers retains his college basketball eligibility because he did not sign a standard NBA contract or a two-way deal. Dillon Mitchell can still return to college basketball since he has yet to ink a contract with the Boston Celtics, but he could potentially take one of the Celtics' remaining two-way contract slots following an impressive Summer League performance that saw him average 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in three games.

Arsenal are keeping a close watch on the Vinicius Junior contract saga at Real Madrid, with the situation still finely balanced despite a growing expectation in Spain that the Brazilian will remain at the Bernabeu. According to TeamTalk, the Gunners are being updated on developments as talks over a new deal continue to stall over key financial terms.
This is not a case of **** nal accelerating into active negotiations for a player seeking an exit. The current picture is more measured than that. Real Madrid want to keep Vinicius Junior, Vinicius Junior wants to stay at Real Madrid, and **** nal are positioned as informed observers who would be prepared to act if the landscape shifts.
The central issue appears to be Real Madrid's latest stance in negotiations. TeamTalk reports that the Spanish club have told Vinicius their present proposal is effectively the end of the road. Their current offer is said to be final, with the club unwilling to disrupt what has long been a carefully controlled wage structure.
That creates an obvious pressure point. Real Madrid remain determined to retain one of their elite attacking players, but they also seem unwilling to keep stretching financially. The article states that "the biggest stumbling block is the signing-on bonus attached to a new contract", with Vinicius' side pushing for a package closer to the terms awarded to Kylian Mbappe.

Reddit reported a strong second quarter but spooked investors by mentioning in an investor letter that traffic from search engines had grown "choppy."
The company's total revenue of $805 million jumped 61% compared to the year-ago quarter while net income was $253 million, up 183%. These beat Wall Street's expectations. Plus, the company said it expects to hit revenue of $860 million to $870 million with healthy earnings before taxes next quarter as well, which beat expected guidance.
Normally, telling investors that they can expect even better results to come would cause a stock to rise. But the stock slid over 10% in after-hours trading.
The culprit was likely CEO Steve Huffman's warning in that separate letter to shareholders. "Search referrals were choppy in the quarter, and traffic was more volatile later in the quarter, but the bigger picture is unchanged: the commercial business is strong," he wrote.
AI is clearly changing the search engine landscape — and investors seem to fear that Reddit's traffic may suffer.

This has been an active year in the mergers-and-acquisitions landscape across the biopharmaceutical industry. One of the more notable deals was Vertex Pharmaceuticals' acquisition of Crinetics Pharmaceuticals for $10 billion in cash (the transaction hasn't closed yet). This is the largest acquisition in Vertex Pharmaceuticals' history, and it will enable the biotech giant to gain several promising pipeline candidates in endocrinology. Could there be an even more massive acquisition on the horizon in the industry? It's hard to say for sure, but if there is, Viking Therapeutics (NASDAQ: VKTX) may be the acquisition target.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a little over 70% of adults in the country are overweight or obese. Excess weight is linked to a range of serious health problems, including diabetes, heart disease, and many others. Recent breakthroughs are helping address the issue. Anti-obesity medicines are allowing patients to lose weight and reduce their risk of developing a range of conditions. But this market is still in its early stages and is projected to expand rapidly over the next decade. According to some estimates, it will be worth $190 billion in 2035, compared to just $79 billion last year.
No wonder, then, that many pharmaceutical giants are looking to dip their toes in this **** e. But discovering and developing brand-new therapies from scratch in any field is expensive and time-consuming. That's why well-established drugmakers often prefer to acquire companies with promising mid and late-stage **** ets. That's where Viking Therapeutics comes in. The company's portfolio includes subcutaneous VK2735, currently in phase 3 clinical trials, as well as an oral version of the drug, which should begin late-stage studies by year-end. Further, Viking Therapeutics developed VK3019, another weight-loss candidate, which recently started phase 1 clinical trials.
Viking Therapeutics has one of the more impressive weight-loss pipelines among mid-cap biotechs, making it a great target for a pharmaceutical leader looking to fast-track the process and land some highly promising anti-obesity pipeline candidates overnight. Viking Therapeutics' phase 3 studies for VK2735 are expected to be completed by late 2027. If the results are very strong, the company's shares will soar, making it a much more expensive acquisition target. So, if any pharmaceutical giant is going to make a move, it probably will be before then.

The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure has forced investors to choose between specialized hardware providers like Astera Labs (NASDAQ:ALAB) and massive cloud platforms like CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) for their portfolios.
Astera Labs designs high-speed connectivity chips that eliminate data bottlenecks in modern data centers. CoreWeave provides the specialized cloud compute power necessary to train and deploy advanced generative AI models. Both companies are scaling quickly, but offer very different levels of profitability and financial risk for everyday investors.
Astera Labs is a key provider of connectivity solutions in the semiconductor stock landscape. The company sells specialized hardware to major hyperscalers and AI accelerator vendors, relying on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing for manufacturing. Customer concentration like this adds a layer of risk to the business, as three customers account for nearly 86% of total revenue.
In 2025, revenue reached nearly $852.5 million, representing growth of roughly 115% over the previous year. Contech giant Procore has entered an agreement to acquire DroneDeploy, a prominent robotics and visual intelligence platform that's used in over 180 countries, according to a Wednesday announcement. Procore will acquire the firm for $845 million in cash, subject to customary purchase price adjustments.
When the acquisition closes later this year, Procore and DroneDeploy will sell one another's solutions to their client base, Ajei Gopal, president and CEO of Procore, said in the announcement.
The combination will create a veritable ocean of construction data. By pairing the two tech companies' capabilities, builders will be able to use cameras, drones and robots to regularly evaluate jobsites and automatically initiate appropriate responses securely, compliantly and in context, per the announcement.
The deal underscores the power of data control in a landscape dominated by artificial intelligence. Simply put, data is king.
