NEW YORK, Sept 16 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve raised interest rates on Wednesday and flagged further increases in borrowing costs in coming months, with new US central bank chief Kevin Warsh joining a unanimous decision that effectively acknowledges the Trump administration's inability so far to control inflation.
Speaking in Washington after the decision's release, Warsh echoed the official statement in promising the Fed's policy committee would "deliver price stability." Stocks and bonds sold off late Wednesday afternoon, reflecting expectations that rates may continue to rise for some time.
New policy projections showed 16 of 18 policymakers anticipate at least one more quarter-percentage-point hike by the end of this year, with only two of them seeing rates remaining stable from here. Warsh apparently again did not submit a rate projection.
It's the first policy shift under the new Fed chief, who took office in late May after being selected by Trump with an expectation that he would cut rates.
The Fed's new policy statement and economic projections, to the contrary, show a central bank opening the door on tighter monetary policy through next year, with the policy rate rising to the 4.00%-4.25% range by the end of this year and ending 2027 at the same level.

Changing jobs is looking lucrative again.
Base pay for job changers in the private sector increased 4.7% in August, compared to 3% for job stayers, according to the latest report from payroll provider ADP.
When you consider gross pay, which includes tips, commissions, and bonuses, wages for job stayers rose 4.4% year over year, while gross pay for job changers increased substantially more: 7.3%.

Kentucky football's first loss of the season was a tale of two halves. In the first half, they controlled the ball, forced turnovers, and limited the Alabama Crimson Tide's offense. In the second half, Alabama controlled the game, and pulled away for a 45-17 win over the Wildcats.
It was a closer game than the score indicates, and there were some promising things to take away from it, but a loss is a loss, and Kentucky's brutal schedule means they have to beat some of these good teams to even get to .500.

As I write this on Sunday night, all but one Week 1 game is comfortably in the books, and as is always the case on opening weekend, we encountered a slew of surprises. Some promising, others concerning and many that may have affected our outlook on a player or an offense. We're all doing our best not to overreact to one Sunday (and one Wednesday and one Thursday), but some of these shifting perspectives are bound to have permanent ramifications.

With that in mind, I've compiled the (first) full weekly fantasy football stock report. These are the most notable risers and fallers heading into Week 2.
Ankle sprain, schmankle schprain (sorry, editors). Ashton Jeanty looked incredible on Sunday and had absolutely no limitations on his workload. He handled 23 carries and had six catches, totaling 147 yards while scoring twice through the air. He totaled 74 rushing yards after contact and scored both of his receiving touchdowns from the 13-yard line. Translation? The second-year RB's upside is arguably somewhere in the Christian McCaffrey stratosphere. The one caveat to all of this, of course, is that he did it against the Miami Dolphins. We'll see whether things change in Week 2 against the Chargers. But for now, Jeanty looks fully healthy and completely dominant, and anyone who got him at the "ankle sprain discount" is doing cartwheels.
At just 61% rostered on Yahoo, Jalen ******* er was closer to being a waiver-wire player than a fantasy stud. Not anymore. The third-year wideout led the Panthers with nine targets, eight catches, 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, finishing as the WR1 overall on Sunday (29.8 fantasy points). He ran the second-most routes on the team (32), behind Tetairoa McMillan (36), and averaged 13.8 air yards per target and 4.31 yards per route run. He made a very strong opening argument to be a 1B to McMillan's 1A this season. And while all of Carolina's numbers were inflated by this barn-burner of a game with Chicago, ******* er had flashed late last year and looks like a legitimate third-year breakout candidate. He'll be among the most-added players on waivers this week (despite starting at 61%) and should be at least a FLEX consideration until further notice.

Just days ahead of a pivotal matchup against No. 10 Alabama, Florida State has reportedly fired athletic director Michael Alford, according to ESPN.
His tenure with the school got off to a promising start, as the Florida State football team went 23-4 in his first two years on the job. But things have declined precipitously since then. The star-studded Spuds had another impressive 42-26 win over Woodbury in their second game of the season. Quarterback Jett Feeney went 15 of 20 for 206 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. Wide receiver David Mack had five receptions for 76 yards and DB/WR Zak Walker had an 88-yard kick return. Running back Taye Reich had the best game of the four with 12 carries for 177 rushing yards and 3 total touchdowns.

The Colorado Rockies entered Detroit hoping to snap a seven-game losing streak on the road. Despite a solid start from their rookie pitcher and an offense that out-hit the Tigers, the Rockies bullpen collapsed in the middle innings, leading to a 6-2 defeat. They are now just eight games away from losing 100 games for the fourth season in a row.
Making his fourth big-league start, Mason Adams continued to impress in a Rockies uniform with a fairly quick and efficient outing.
The night started promisingly as Adams struck out the side in the bottom of the first inning.
