While it's hard to believe that the PGA Tour's regular-season finale is upon us at the Wyndham Championship, there's still plenty to play for in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The tournament at Sedgefield Country Club marks the last chance for players to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs, where the top 70 players will compete for the overall crown.
Cameron Young is back at Wyndham to defend his ****** le and said he hopes to make a final push in the FEC standings as well. The Player of the Year candidate is the favorite to repeat this week and take home his third victory on the PGA Tour this year.
The 147-player field also includes rookie Jackson Koivun, fresh off his win at the 3M Open, Ryan Gerard, Alex Fitzpatrick and Hideki Matsuyama, all competing for a piece of the $8.5 million purse.

Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta never attempted to hide the organization's intentions regarding Zay Flowers.
When the Ravens exercised Flowers' fifth-year option, DeCosta said the goal was to complete a long-term agreement and that he fully expected the two sides to reach one. Baltimore delivered Tuesday, signing Flowers to a four-year, $140 million extension containing $108 million guaranteed. The timing matters. Flowers missed Tuesday's practice, creating immediate questions about his availability. Hours later, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the agreement through Flowers' agency, WIN Sports Group. Baltimore had not announced whether the absence was directly related to the negotiations, but the contract eliminated any broader uncertainty surrounding his future.
DeCosta has emphasized retaining premium players drafted and developed by the organization. The Ravens followed that model with safety Kyle Hamilton and have applied it again to Flowers, the No. 22 overall pick in the 2023 draft.
Flowers has rewarded Baltimore with 237 receptions for 3,128 yards and 14 touchdowns through three seasons. He reached the Pro Bowl in each of the past two years and established a franchise-wide receiver record with 1,211 yards in 2025.
His $35 million annual average ties Justin Jefferson for fourth among NFL receivers. The deal also makes Flowers the highest-paid receiver in Ravens history.

An author who lost a seven-figure book deal over accusations that he used AI to write his debut novel is fighting back, denying the claims, as what was once viewed as a hallmark for a young writer has become a source of controversy.
In a series of Instagram posts, Jerry Falade stated he was "Definitely innocent!!!" while adding, "They CAN'T and WON'T stop this Black boy's light from shining."
The aspiring author had written "Call Me, I'll Hide The Body," a crime novel that immediately garnered attention and sparked a bidding war among some of the biggest names in book publishing. More than 14 publishers bid on the novel before Macmillan's Minotaur imprint reportedly acquired the U.S. rights, while HarperCollins secured the U.K. rights. In total, the publishing deal for Falade's debut book and a follow-up was around $2 million.
However, Falade's literary agent stepped in, stating that he could no longer support the book and informing both publishing houses of his concerns about the use of AI in its writing. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Falade informed the outlet that he did use AI, but only during the research phase of the novel, but not for the actual manuscript. He stated he relied on an open-source AI tool to answer research questions tied to the book's subject matter, including forensic details and opted for a locally run model because it does not retain extensive search histories.

The electricity demand created by artificial intelligence is usually presented as a simple supply problem. AI requires increasingly large data centers, those facilities consume enormous amounts of electricity, and utilities must somehow build enough power plants to serve them.
The numbers appear to support the alarm. Data centers consumed around 485 terawatt-hours of electricity globally in 2025. The International Energy Agency expects this to rise to approximately 950 TWh by 2030, while consumption from AI-focused facilities could triple. Some proposed AI campuses will require several gigawatts of capacity—more than many cities.
Yet the global numbers hide the real problem. Data centers are expected to account for only around 3% of worldwide electricity demand by 2030. Their impact is serious, but it is not remotely large enough to overwhelm the global electricity system.
The difficulty is that AI demand is arriving in very large blocks, in very specific locations, and on timelines that are much shorter than those required to build grids and power plants.
AI does not primarily have an electricity problem. It has an inflexibility problem.

So a lot of my life has been full circle I think the last year. And that was part of it. I knew it was part of it. And I'm happy to be reunited, and that part of my life is a really beautiful addition, and I've got to give my wife a lot of credit for — not that she was pushing me, because she never was, but just the way that she loves and supports me, having her by my side during this process has been really special. And I missed those relationships. And there was reasons for it that don't need to be talked about, but I'm thankful that that's come all the way back around."

Earlier this season Xander Schauffele's consecutive cuts made streak ended at 72. A couple of weeks ago, Scottie Scheffler was the PGA Tour active leader at 78 when that ended at the Scottish Open. A week later at the British, Matt Fitzpatrick at 28 was the leader in the category but that was short-lived as he missed the weekend.
Heading into the 3M Open, Hideki Matsuyama was the active leader with 28 straight made cuts. Through 27 holes at TPC Twin Cities, the ***** anese start was 2 under overall and on the wrong side of the projected cut of 3 under, putting him in danger of being the latest cuts made leader to come up short.
But he flipped the script after making birdies on Nos. 10, 12, 13 and 14. His 2 on the par-3 13th also won the fans over as there was a promotion on Friday whereby beers would be half-price at the concession stand near the 13th hole for 10 minutes after any birdie. It didn't take long for a long line to form.
What about those on the wrong side of the cut?
With three events left before the FedEx Cup Playoffs, time is running out for those scrambling to get into the top 70. That's the game within the game among those also more pressing to play the weekend.

The Philadelphia Eagles do not need to force rookies into major roles before they are ready. That is one of the benefits of having a roster built to contend immediately, with proven veterans and young starters already established across both sides of the ball. Still, every rookie class has at least one player whose opportunity is too obvious to ignore.
For the Eagles, that player is Makai Lemon.
Lemon has the clearest path among Philadelphia's rookies to start Week 1 because of where he was drafted, what he brings to the offense, and how the wide receiver room has changed. The Eagles traded up to select the USC wide receiver with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, adding the Biletnikoff Award winner after a final college season in which he totaled 1,156 receiving yards and 13 scrimmage touchdowns.
DeVonta Smith is the unquestioned No. 1 receiver, and the Eagles added Hollywood Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and Elijah Moore to give Jalen Hurts more veteran options. That creates competition, but it also creates a realistic path for Lemon. Philadelphia did not move up in the first round for a player it planned to hide, and Lemon's explosiveness, ability after the catch, and inside-out versatility give the offense a skill set that can translate quickly.
The biggest factor is health and timing. If Lemon is fully available by the end of training camp and builds trust with Hurts, he could open the season as part of Philadelphia's top three-receiver packages. Whether that counts as a traditional "start" may depend on personnel grouping. Still, today's NFL, a rookie receiver playing heavy snaps in 11 personnel can function as a starter even if the offense technically opens in a different formation.
