Only about 7% of U.S. families have $1 million or more in retirement accounts. But that milestone is much more common among families that share several key traits.
Among the roughly 9.4 million families with $1 million or more in retirement accounts, about 97% own their homes, 84% are headed by someone with a bachelor's degree, and 61% are in the top 10% by income. Senior Matt Esposito led the way in the 21-18 victory, which increased the Lions all-time lead in the series to 36-14-1 and gave them their first victory of the season. The senior finishes with 916 yards and nine scores for the season, plus a receiving touchdown, while recording 36 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble in the Lions' defensive secondary.
"Matt had a tremendous year and was an instrumental piece to the team," North Hunterdon coach CJ Robinson said. "He brings the effort, attitude, and toughness on Friday nights. His performance last week is a great reflection of the work and commitment he's put in this year. To see him play at that level and help lead our team to a win was special. It's a chance to give teams better officials each day. But it also gives us a chance to see the TSSAA football playoff picture become clearer before the brackets are released Friday, Oct. 30.
Note: Games with asterisks are region games. Most games this week will be region games. And almost all games play at least a small part in determining playoff order.

Oct. 29—With five starters and five other returners, it is no surprise that the Gonzaga women's basketball team was tapped to win the Pac-12 Conference championship in a media poll released Thursday.
The Bulldogs' top seven scorers return from a team that finished 24-10 and won the West Coast Conference **** le in its final season in the league.
Oregon State was picked to finish second in the remodeled conference. The Beavers may have been picked second based on their reputation and penchant for postseason success. In the final year of the original Pac-12 (2023-24), they advanced to the Elite Eight.
San Diego State, which won the Mountain West championship last year, was picked third followed by Colorado State, Boise State, Washington State, Fresno State, Texas State and Utah State.
Gonzaga received 16 of 19 first-place votes. Oregon State received one and San Diego State received two.

I didn't think I was going to have to post this midway through a game, but after Green Bay Packers kicker Trey Smack missed his first extra point after missing two chip shots last week, it seems pretty clear that it's a question of when — not if — Smack will be replaced. Going into this game, I had done some research on who is available, so I want to share that with you folks.
I looked at all kickers who even attempted a field goal from 2024 to 2026, the last three seasons. Outside of punters, there are a total of 55 players who have attempted kicks. Of those 55 players, 46 of them are under contract for other teams or appear to be out of the league entirely, either due to injury or retirement.
As far as players on the street go, here's the list that the Packers can look at during their "mini-bye." Generally, kickers are worked out before they're signed, not poached off a practice squad, so I'm not going to include the practice squadders in this list.

The UIL has found new broadcasting partners for this year's football state championships in Nexstar and Mission Broadcasting.

All 12 state championship games played at AT&T Stadium from Dec. 16-19 will be available on local television and the station's streaming platform, if applicable. Participating stations and platforms in Texas include KDAF and CW33+ (Dallas) and KIAH and CW39+ (Houston).
The UIL previously partnered with Dallas-based streaming service Victory+ to broadcast its football state ******* le games, but the service was dissolved by its parent company in September.
Victory+, which also broadcast Dallas Stars games, first launched in 2024 ahead of the NHL season. The streaming service was set to broadcast the Texas High School Coaches ******* ociation Game of the Week this season, including matchups like Humble Summer Creek versus Shadow Creek, before it shuttered.
Smithson Valley was the only San Antonio area team to play in a UIL football state championship game last season. The Rangers defeated Frisco Lone Star, 28-6, to win their second straight state ******* le. Smithson Valley is a perfect 8-0 so far and will close out its regular season Friday at Seguin.
"The UIL State Football Championships are an important tradition for high schools and communities throughout Texas," said Dr. Jamey Harrison, executive director of the UIL said in a press release. "We are excited to work with Nexstar Media and Mission Broadcasting to expand access to these championship games and we are pleased that fans will be able to watch them through streaming and local television broadcasts across Texas."

TRIAD — Nine area teams have qualified for the NCHSAA boys soccer playoffs set to begin next week, according to the preliminary brackets released Thursday afternoon.
There was an appeal to the State Superintendent of Public Instruction set for later in the afternoon that could impact seeds.
First-round games will be Monday, followed by second-round games Thursday.
Wheatmore, Oak Grove and Southwest Guilford will play in the opening round. Wheatmore will visit Hendersonville while Southwest will travel to East Forsyth. Oak Grove will host Saint Pauls.
