Brentford boss Keith Andrews has been speaking to the media before Tueday's Carabao Cup third round game against League One side Reading at The Select Car Leasing Stadium (20:00 BST).

There was a subdued atmosphere at the final whistle among Chelsea's players, staff and supporters.

I have happy memories of this fixture because one of my three goals for Chelsea came against Hull City in the FA Cup.
Hull haven't conceded yet and they are the team I have been most wrong about so far this season.
With every passing week, they are putting more egg on my face but it can't keep happening, can it?
It probably can, but I am still going for Chelsea to win this. The Tigers have defended brilliantly so far, but they are not going to keep out Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro.

Daniel Farke is "carefully optimistic" Daniel James will be available for Leeds' Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea despite suffering a fitness scare.
James reported discomfort in his back and hamstring during the warm-up at Brighton, but scans have shown no new injury.
The winger completed an individual session and will be ******* sed again before a decision is made on his availability.

Xabi Alonso has confirmed Moises Caicedo will miss Chelsea's Carabao Cup clash with Leeds but could return this weekend.
Caicedo is yet to recover from the injury which kept him out of the defeat to **** nal, with Alonso unwilling to take any unnecessary risks with the midfielder.
Summer signing Marco Palestra will also miss the Leeds game as he continues to work towards full fitness.

Manchester City announced the signing of Allan from Palmeiras yesterday. The Brazilian winger is set to provide Enzo Maresca with another option to utilize on the right wing. Albeit they've conceded five goals from their opening two Premier League matches, Xabi Alonso seems to have Chelsea back on track after a dodgy 2025/26 campaign as the Blues have opened their season with three wins on the bounce. They beat Fulham 3-2 for their Premier League opener, topped Luton Town 2-0 in the Carabao Cup, and most recently beat Brighton and Hove Albion 4-3 in the league. While the former Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid manager will certainly be hoping for more solidity in his defense, three straight wins is not a bad start to life in the English top flight at all.

Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Manchester City agreed to a $169 million deal for Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez.
Sources told ESPN, The Athletic and the BBC about the agreement Tuesday. Fernandez, who joined the Blues from Benfica in 2023, totaled 10 goals and four ****** ists over 36 appearances during the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
