SOFIA, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Bulgaria is investigating the cause of a fire at a weapons storage facility operated by EMCO, including the possibility of sabotage and a link to a previous blaze at ‌another of the company's facilities in August, the interior minister said.
No injuries were reported in the fire, ‌which broke out near the village of Tsareva Livada and lit up the night sky, according to videos broadcast locally. The incident came weeks after an explosion and fire at another EMCO weapons depot in western Bulgaria.
Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev told journalists on Saturday that the fire was under control and that an investigation was underway.
"We will review previous cases in which similar fires occurred in the warehouses of this company, as well as at other companies, in order to look for a possible connection or a ‌similar pattern," he said.
"We are not ruling ⁠out outside interference."

Walmart Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) and The Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE:HD) are both booking real tariff refund windfalls, but reporting and using the money in noticeably different ways, CNBC reported.
Walmart CFO John David Rainey said the company is eligible for roughly $2.9 billion in refunds, has yet to receive just under $100 million of that, and saw Walmart U.S. gross profit grow 1.6% from the boost; Rainey said Walmart plans to use the funds to lower prices for consumers, with the impact showing up in the current fiscal third quarter.
Home Depot said it received $730 million in tariff refunds during its fiscal second quarter, using about $685 million to reduce the cost of goods sold, lifting gross margin by 0.3 percentage points. CFO Richard McPhail called that "the vast majority" of what the company expected. Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW), by contrast, said it would not use its refund to cut prices, with CEO Marvin Ellison saying the company wants to "deliver strong profitability for our shareholders" instead.
Walmart Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) can turn its tariff refund into both lower prices and solid sales. The firm expects roughly $2.9 billion in tariff refunds and has already used part of the benefit to lower prices on about 11,000 products. The deadliest Russian strike in the ‌Kyiv area this year came as Moscow's air attacks on the Ukrainian capital and surrounding region dragged into a third straight day, killing residents, damaging homes and derailing daily life.
Dozens were also injured and hundreds evacuated from the area of the strike late on Friday on the village of Myla, Zelenskiy said, where nearby infrastructure including residential buildings and a facility for the elderly and people with disabilities suffered "significant damage".
The attack sparked widespread fires, officials said. Among those killed was the head of a ‌neighbouring village who rushed to help.

Boeing on Monday won a $131 billion contract covering the F-15 fighter jet fleet. The Missile Development Agency granted Parsons a contract extension worth more than $500 million. General Dynamics landed an armored vehicle contract. Elsewhere, William Blair lifted its 2027 targets for Booz Allen Hamilton after the company closed a $720 million acquisition.
Defense stocks were mixed early Tuesday.
The Air Force on Monday awarded Boeing (BA) a $131.23 billion contract to support the F-15 Eagle Crest program, which oversees the F-15 fighter jet fleet. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers aircraft production, systems integration, modernization, upgrades, retrofits and sustainment. The contract also calls for Boeing to establish organic depot maintenance capabilities for F-15 Eagle weapons systems for the Air Force, Air National Guard and other Department of Defense customers.
"Organic depot maintenance" refers to government facilities that do not rely on support from commercial contractors.
The DOD said Boeing will perform the work at its St. Louis, Missouri facility and it expects to complete it by August 2037. The ordering period for the contract runs to Aug. 24, 2031, with an option to extend to Aug. 24, 2036.

The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TJX) and Ross Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ:ROST)'s shares have diverged in performance in 2026. Year-to-date, the former is down by 8.9% and the latter is up 30%. Cramer, on August 17th, discussed the divergence in the share price. He lamented the fact that The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TJX) was suffering despite performing well and discussed the firm's CEO in relation to the share price movement. On the flipside, the CNBC TV host attributed Ross Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ:ROST)'s price performance to its CEO:
"Walmart and TJX, which are the acknowledged two best, have been the worst. And it's really rather interesting to see the best trade, not really as well, like Ross Stores has a fantastic CEO, I don't know if anyone remembers him from when he was at Boot Barn, Jim Conroy. But holy cow, is he good. And he has moved that stock up. . .Jim Conroy's come in there and he's just crushed it. In the meantime, TJX, which is doing so well as a company, people don't like. So there's a lot of front seat, back seat, Lowe's better than Home Depot, Target better than Walmart, Ross better than TJX. Home Depot (HD) stock has struggled over the past twelve months, but its latest earnings report sent shares higher on what looked like a solid beat, with sales up 5.7% for the quarter. When **** ysts got management on the line, however, they weren't focused on the headline numbers. They kept circling back to one central, awkward question: was the company's strong performance real, or was it an illusion created by a large, one-time $685 million tariff refund?
The Margin Math Had a $685 Million Asterisk
The core of the investment case was tested immediately. The market was already questioning whether Home Depot's profitability actually missed expectations once you stripped out the tariff refund. This isn't just an accounting debate; it's a direct challenge to whether the underlying business can handle rising costs. One **** yst framed the worry bluntly, referencing "discussion in the market this morning" about a potential miss if the refund were excluded.
Management's response was direct and numerical. They explained the $685 million refund was about a 145-basis-point gross impact to margin. Revenue of $47.9 billion and adjusted diluted earnings per share of $4.92 both came in ahead of Wall Street **** yst expectations. Shares were up following the announcement, even though the management team kept guidance unchanged.
The retail stock has been disappointing in the past five years, trading up just 7% during that time (as of Aug. 19). However, it does a fantastic job of returning capital to shareholders.
