KYIV, Aug 29 (Reuters) - At least 37 people were killed after a Russian drone attack on a Kyiv-area ammunition depot sparked a detonation, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Saturday, vowing to punish suspected negligence in the second such incident in two months.
The deadliest Russian strike in the Kyiv area this year came as Moscow's air attacks on the Ukrainian capital and surrounding region dragged into a third straight day, killing residents, damaging homes and derailing daily life.
Dozens were also injured and hundreds evacuated from the area of the strike late on Friday on the village of Myla, Zelenskiy said, where nearby infrastructure including residential buildings and a facility for the elderly and people with disabilities suffered "significant damage".
The attack sparked widespread fires, officials said. Among those killed was the head of a neighbouring village who rushed to help.

Republican Sen. Ron Johnson (Wis.) on Monday cast doubt on the recency of a photo Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) shared of himself in the hospital alongside his wife.
"I've just heard from some other sources that was an older photo. So I really don't know," Johnson told host Eric Bolling on Real America's Voice's "Bolling!"
The Wisconsin Republican noted he has not spoken to McConnell, hopes he can recover and will "come back and vote" in line with President Trump's agenda.
Later Monday, Johnson backtracked from his remarks to Bolling. The Wisconsin senator wrote on the social platform X, "Beware of clickbait — watch the full clip. Most importantly, I hope SenMcConnell makes a full recovery and returns to the Senate."

(NewsNation) — A man who claims to have found the remains of a Bigfoot in Upstate New York says he now has scientific proof that it's real.
In 2024, Charles Stuart, aka "Snake the Bigfoot Hunter," claims he found the decomposing remains of an eight-foot-tall, 300-pound Bigfoot in Adirondack Park in Upstate New York.
"I could smell it because this body was decaying," Snake told NewsNation's Jesse Weber on Thursday. "This thing was sitting in a poison ivy patch and just was absolutely disgusting."

Snake believed the body had been there for about two days, based on the degree of decay. Of course, he wanted the world to know about it, so he brought it home and has been showing it off for the last couple of years.

(NewsNation) — Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind., said Thursday he doesn't know whether Sen. Mitch McConnell is still alive, criticizing the lack of updates about the Kentucky senator's condition after nearly a month in the hospital.
"I have not heard from him, and I think it's a question that Republicans should be asking because he does represent the state of Kentucky," Stutzman said on "Morning in America." "His constituents deserve answers where he is at."
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has also called on McConnell's office to provide an update, sending a letter requesting more information about the senator's health.
Stutzman said he agrees with Beshear's request.

A manhunt is under way in southern France after a parcel bomb exploded at a residential building in neighbouring Monaco, injuring a wealthy Ukrainian businessman and two others.
Vadym Yermolaiev and two others are believed to have been injured in the attack on Monday evening, according to French media reports. Their identities have not been officially announced.
Two are in a critical condition in hospital in Nice, Monaco public prosecutor Stéphane Thibault said, adding that a woman was the most seriously hurt.
The blast occurred shortly before 21:00 (19:00 GMT) at an apartment building on Rue Révérend Père Louis Frolla, near the border with France.
Ukraine's foreign ministry said its embassy in France was in touch with Monaco's authorities and was working to officially identify those reported injured in the blast.

As the tech industry continues to scale AI use, some companies are hitting snags not in the technology itself, but in the human workforce developing and working alongside AI agents.
Fiona Fung, the engineering leader of Anthropic's Claude Code and Cowork teams, said in a recent episode of Lenny's Podcast, agentic AI use in the workplace has increased so much it was making employees' work more solitary, pushing the company to intervene with other team-building activities.
"The other thing that we found interesting on the Claude Code team is, after a while, we felt it could start being a lonely experience because we all started just working with our agents so much," she said.
Anthropic began implementing hackathons "just to make sure we're interacting together as a team," as well as pair programming lunches for employees to share how they're using Claude Code, Fung said. She deemed both interventions successful.
"When we do pairwise programming, we actually learn so much from each other," she said. "Every time I watch someone work, I learn something myself as well."

Research that caused the Commerce Department to impose strict limits on the use of Anthropic's new AI models wasn't geared toward offensive purposes, according to a cybersecurity CEO who saw the findings.
Late Friday, the department used national security export controls to bar the company from distributing Fable 5 and Mythos 5.
The directive applies to people outside the U.S. and foreign nationals in the U.S., including Anthropic's own non-citizen employees. Due to the directive's scope, Anthropic said it had no choice but to disable the models for all users.
The company said it was told that research on a "jailbreak" of Anthropic's AI that sought to probe bypassing of safeguards sparked the export controls.
"We disagree that the finding of a narrow potential jailbreak should be cause for recalling a commercial model deployed to hundreds of millions of people," Anthropic wrote in a blog post. "If this standard was applied across the industry, we believe it would essentially halt all new model deployments for all frontier model providers."

Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, the new chief of the National Nutrition Agency, was speaking a day after her predecessor was arrested on corruption charges relating to the way the scheme was run.
The details are as follows:
• Nanik said the "efficiency" measures came after the Southeast Asian country slashed the allocation for the programme this year to 268 trillion rupiah ($14.87 billion) from the initial 335 trillion rupiah.
• "The refocusing measures are aimed at ensuring more efficient use of available resources through stronger governance, improved service quality, optimisation of existing operational kitchens, and more targeted delivery of benefits, particularly in underserved and remote areas," she said.
