Two US-based holders of Aston Martin bonds have asked a New York court to authorise evidence-gathering ahead of a UK legal claim against the carmaker's debt restructuring.
According to Bloomberg, Arini Capital Management and Tresidor Investment Management lodged the application with the Southern District of New York.
The filing asks the court to compel BlackRock-owned HPS Investment Partners, the UK arm of Authentic Brands Group, and advisers Moelis & Co and Lazard to produce documents and give testimony.
Pallas Partners, representing the bondholders, plans to use the evidence in a UK claim now being drafted against the deal.
At issue is the arrangement between Aston Martin, HPS and Authentic Brands that raised £450m in debt – an arrangement the bondholders say left existing creditors worse off.

The letter was also signed by Will Gaybrick, Stripe's president of technology and business. Patrick Collison is the company's chief executive and John Collison is its president.
A Stripe spokesperson on Thursday confirmed the authenticity of the letter, which was first reported by Axios, the newsletter publisher.

The name, image and likeness collective that connects Tennessee fans with athletes, exclusive experiences and merchandise is opening a store in Knoxville that will sell limited-edition Vols gear.
The Volunteer Club, which supports University of Tennessee athletes through fan memberships and merch sales, announced its first storefront is opening Sept. 4 at 6601 Kingston Pike in Bearden.
The store represents the "next evolution" for NIL, said co-owner Will Crockett, who told Knox News he is launching the concept as a way to bridge the gap between fans and athletes with a physical ***** e for them to interact. In other words, according to a news release, the store will be anything but "another traditional Tennessee apparel shop."
"There are plenty of those already," the announcement said, "and they do just fine."
Former Tennessee running back Travis Stephens will be on hand for the grand opening, which invites fans into a ***** e designed to feel like a piece of Vols history. The Volunteer Club storefront will feature authentic, nostalgic decorations such as a 1930s-era scoreboard on the wall, Crockett said, as well as an old bathroom door and phone booth from Neyland Stadium. Fan groups from various German clubs are planning large protests against the use of Video ***** istant Referees (VAR) in professional football at this weekend's men's Cup first round matches, dpa learnt on Wednesday.
The games will not have VAR because lower-league clubs are automatically at home under German Cup rules and the infrastructure to install the video review system is not in place.
"In the Cup first round we see football as it should be - without VAR and therefore authentic, immediate and full of emotion. We want to return to this state permanently and therefore demand the abolition of the Video ***** istant Referee in German football," a letter circulating among supporters of various clubs and seen by dpa reads.
VAR will come in from the men's second round. Previously this was only the case from the round of 16. The men's Bundesliga and second division will again use VAR.
"While football is about intensity and rhythm, the flow of the game suffers considerably from (VAR) interruptions which drag on. Even fans who were initially open and positive about the change state after nine years that VAR has fundamentally altered the character of the game," the fan letter continues.

That tiny difference is easy to miss while scrolling — and the stakes made the post particularly combustible.
Philadelphia has gone all-in on a championship run after adding LeBron James to a roster featuring Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe. James officially joined the Sixers in July on a two-year contract after saying he believed he could help Philadelphia contend for a championship.

Cybersecurity company Mitek Systems (MITK) is seeing the proliferation of artificial intelligence as a business advantage, and its stock is headed toward a buy point amid a year of outperformance over other technology names.
The small-cap company sells verification, authentication and fraud-prevention products. On its website, Mitek touts American Express (AXP), Experian and Intuit (INTU) among its more than 7,000 customers.

Mitek shares bulked up nearly 5% in the past week. Further, the weekly chart showed them edging above their 10-week moving average. Trading above 19 on Friday, the stock was nearer to an ideal cup-base buy point of 21.05 set on July 1.
Shares started building the right side of a cup base since a July drag-down with a wider downturn in technology names. Tech stocks got rattled in part by concerns about rising corporate capital expenditures for artificial intelligence. The case of Mohamed Coulibaly is sending shock waves throughout the NFL, as it relates to many people in the league (including coaches, executives, and players) who actually invested with him, who supposedly did (but actually didn't), and/or who had been solicited to invest.
In a Tuesday item published by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Ximena Conde reports that Coulibaly was "desperately" seeking a $75,000 loan on the day he was found dead in a swimming pool at his home.
Per the report, Coulibaly sought money from a New York man to whom Coulibaly already owed $1 million. He promised a Lamborghini, two gold Rolexes, and a signed Lionel Messi cleat as collateral for a weeklong loan. He told the man that the extra money would make it possible to repay the original $1 million.
Later that day, a driver arrived at the man's house with two fake watches, an unauthenticated signed cleat, and an insurance card and bill of sale for the car.
The man then backed out of the loan.

I can still picture my prized holographic BOOK IT! pin, the one with pages that turned as you tilted it. As a senior millennial, I understood the impulse completely.
