Brian McKnight is publicly celebrating one of his sons again—but this time, the birthday tribute is for his stepson Jack.
The R&B singer posted a video documenting an extravagant birthday outing for Jack, the son of his wife, Leilani Mendoza, whom McKnight has helped raise and openly calls his own. In the clip, McKnight takes the second-year law student shopping for a pickup truck of his choice while delivering an emotional tribute to the young man.
"Every once in a while, you're blessed with a child that becomes everything you could have ever hoped for and more," McKnight said. "That's Jack."

The Oscar-winning actress was presented with the honour by her The Devil Wears Prada director, David Frankel, amid The Disney Legends Award ceremony held in Anaheim, California.
"I am here today because I'm one of the most insanely lucky people in the world," she began, appearing emotional. "How lucky am I that I was born into a family where acting, storytelling and imagination were valued and celebrated."
Anne, who is currently expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, went on to credit late director Garry Marshall, as well as co-producers Debra Martin Chase and the late Whitney Houston, for selecting her to play Mia Thermopolis in the hit 2001 movie, The Princess Diaries.

The Brunei monarchy made headlines recently after the Sultan of Brunei sensationally stripped his daughter-in-law, Pengiran Raabi'atul Adawiyyah, of her royal ***** les.
A statement claimed that "the revocation was carried out following conduct by Pengiran Raabi'atul Adawiyyah that was deemed unbecoming of a spouse of a member of the royal family".
It added: "Her actions were also found to have tarnished the monarchy's good name and demonstrated a lack of respect towards Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah."

LeBron James' wife, Savannah James, recently revealed that an employee at a luxury store was fired after she allegedly failed to serve her and her friend. On an episode of her podcast, "Question Everything," Savannah said she and a friend were refused service despite having a scheduled appointment.

She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny," the statement reads. MANHATTAN — Folks, it really was a great year in sports, even for those of us who aren't regularly paying attention: The underdog New York Knicks won the NBA Finals, Shohei Ohtani defied baseball physics, and the Olympics introduced the masses to our new national treasure, Alysa Liu.
I spent a soggy, smoky night celebrating it all with some of the tallest and most talented people in the country at the 2026 ESPY Awards, hosted by comedian Marcello Hernández at Lincoln Center.
As someone who observes sports more from a cultural angle than a technical one, I admit I find most of the fun of televised competition to be the emotion and drama of it all (besides the whole "who's going to win" element). I also only learned that "ESPY" stands for "Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly" last night. I still had an amazing time.
Here's what I observed as an in-person attendee at the ESPYs that you might not have picked up during the televised broadcast on ESPN.
When I arrived at the theater for the red carpet, the air was heavy with wildfire smoke and the humidity of an impending deluge. Sure enough, it poured. The nasty summer storm cost everyone about an hour of interview time, but fortunately, I got to spend that time indoors chatting with Yahoo's correspondent for the night: Jazzy, a delightfully brilliant 16-year-old journalist. We spent a while fantasizing about the snacks we wished we had brought, and she recommended I try putting Flamin' Hot Cheetos in the freezer for 15 minutes, which I will be doing next time I anticipate being grumpy and impatient.

Connor Murphy, an influencer known for "Looksmaxxing," has reportedly died.
TMZ reported on Wednesday, July 8, that Murphy died following a drowning incident in Thailand. The outlet stated that, according to Thai news outlet Thai Rath, the 32-year-old was allegedly acting erratically when he returned to the luxury village where he was staying.
Murphy reportedly arrived by taxi and then allegedly tried to get into another car. However, he became agitated and began shouting when the driver refused to allow him into the car because of his behavior.
That's when locals contacted the police.
By the time officers arrived, Murphy had reportedly fled through the village before jumping into a nearby lake, where he allegedly swam until he became exhausted and drowned.

Danny Glover has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
The veteran actor and film producer, who turns 80 on 22 July, was diagnosed in 2022, months after receiving an honorary Oscar in recognition of his decades-long global activism for justice and human rights.
Speaking to the Today show's Lester Holt on Wednesday, Glover discussed living with the condition.
"I can live with it in a sense," he said. "I'm sure as it advances, different things will be different and changing."
However, the Lethal Weapon star emphasised that, despite the progression of the neurological disease, he remains committed to engaging with younger generations on social justice issues.
"A big deal is talking to young people and their responsibility," he told Holt. "(I have) a lot to learn, as well."
