Two months after leaving her role as White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt is making her next move.
Donald Trump's former press secretary will be joining Fox News as an on-air contributor, the network announced Monday, Oct. 5.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on Fox News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at Fox News Media," Leavitt said in a statement. "I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House press secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defied my tenure, to Fox's millions of viewers across their many platforms."
Leavitt, 29, held her press secretary position in the Trump administration from January 2025 to August 2026, becoming the youngest person in American history to hold the position.
Prior to this, she served as National Press Secretary during Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. Leavitt also previously ran for Congress in her home state of New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District in 2022, and served as communications director for then-House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY).

Karoline Leavitt, the former Trump administration press secretary who spent much of her time chastising and denigrating the journalists who asked her questions, is joining one of the outlets that made some of the queries.
Leavitt will join Fox News Channel as a contributor, the network said Monday. Leavitt follows a well-trod path that has been walked on previously by people like Kayleigh McEnany, a former press secretary who also works for the Fox Corp.-backed media outlet, and Larry Kudrow, a former financial official who is a prominent host at Fox Business Network.

President Donald Trump heads into the second half of his term with key vacancies among his senior White House staff. That means whoever comes off the bench must contend with the possibility of a Democratic-controlled Congress, a slew of subpoenas, a lingering war in the Middle East and an open Republican presidential primary.
James Braid, the top liaison to Congress, this week announced his exit. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said she would depart the week before. Replacements for either have not been announced.
Though it's not unusual for staff to depart around the midterms, Trump's desire to run the country through a handful of close, fiercely loyal aides means each loss is more impactful than in a White House where power and responsibility are more diffuse.
These departures don't guarantee a tougher road for the administration, but they inject a dose of uncertainty at an already tenuous time, when the president is facing a slew of challenges — both foreign and domestic.
"I think people are seeing the writing on the wall and thinking Republicans probably aren't going to have the House, might not have the Senate either, and things are going to be stalled," said an official who served in Trump's first term, who like others in this article was granted anonymity to speak candidly.

Karoline Leavitt may soon be stepping away from her role as White House press secretary after announcing her resignation to spend more time with her growing family, but she is still making public appearances alongside President Donald Trump.
Earlier this month, the 28-year-old was seen with Trump at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where she turned heads in a striking red dress.
The press secretary wore a bright red, sleeveless midi dress featuring a collar neckline and gold embellishment at the center. She paired the look with beige pumps and carried a cream-colored tote bag. Staying true to her signature glamorous style, Leavitt wore her blonde hair down.

Leavitt has remained a prominent figure in the Trump administration, frequently making headlines for both her political role and her polished style. Even after announcing her departure, attention has remained focused on what she will do next.

Former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki scathingly attacked her Trump counterpart Karoline Leavitt on Thursday, claiming she faced hardly any tough questions in the briefing room and had no interest in engaging in good faith discussions.
"The relationship between the press and the White House is supposed to be adversarial by design," Psaki said on MS NOW, formerly MSNBC, where she was hired after her performance on then-President Biden's behalf from 2021 to 2022. "I mean, the press in the room are supposed to push for more access, for more information. And there are times when it's absolutely appropriate for the press secretary to push back. But Karoline Leavitt didn't want to engage in good faith with those reporters and their tough questions.
"And so, instead, she did everything she could to reshape that briefing room into her own personal safe ******* e where she rarely had to answer a tough question, hardly ever. I mean, she only briefed once or twice a week, max."
President Donald Trump announced this week that Leavitt would be exiting her role as press secretary to prioritize her family. The youngest person to hold the role in history, Leavitt has held the role since Trump took office again last year, and her replacement has not been named.

The Cheesecake Factory, along with a group of sit-down restaurant stocks including Texas Roadhouse and BJ's Restaurants, have seen a median gain of about 62% over the past three months, according to recent data from Yahoo Finance. The news outlet also reported that the 62-point gap was "wider than anything seen from 2016 through 2025," and comes as stocks from popular fast-casual chains like Chipotle, Wingstop, and Shake Shack have, in comparison, stayed put.

Roughly a thousand spectators cheered as teens Kylie Ritchie of Connecticut and Bridget Kavan of Nebraska ran from platform to platform, swinging on monkey bars and a rope, heaving weights and clambering up a wall in an American Ninja Warrior-like competition.
Among the onlookers was President Donald Trump, who watched the semi-finals and finals of the Patriot Games on Aug. 11. He later presented the two winners — a boy and a girl — with two golden trophies and $125,000 in scholarship prize money each.
Joining Trump inside the sprawling Spire Academy athletic facility located just outside Geneva in Northeast Ohio's wine country were Ohio Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and ESPN personality Pat McAfee.
Speaking in a mid-event interview, Trump said the athletes were doing "fantastically well" and that he was looking forward to watching the finals.
"This has been as exciting as everything; I didn't know what to expect," Trump said of the Patriot Games.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) bristled when asked Thursday about White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt's statement that President Trump's "patience is running out" with the Senate GOP leader because of the stalled SAVE America Act.
"Maybe she or somebody else ought to get on the phone and get the votes. Right? It's 50 around here," Thune shot back when asked about Leavitt's statement to reporters at a press briefing earlier Thursday.
"Instead of pointing the finger at Republicans, they might think about going after the people who are stopping it on the floor, which is the Democrats," the senator added, appearing somewhat irritated by the critical comment. "And if there are Republicans they think are gettable, get on the phone."
Leavitt said Trump's patience with Thune's handling of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act, which the Senate has voted on — in whole or in part — at least five times but has failed to move forward, is wearing thin.
The remark comes as the president has ramped up his push for Republicans to support the voter ID bill, legislation that would require proof of citizenship for voter registration and photo ID when casting ballots.

The White House said Thursday it was closely monitoring a growing multistate parasite outbreak that has sickened more than 400 people as federal health officials race to identify the contaminated food behind the illnesses.
Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the administration is working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to trace the outbreak to its source, insisting the agencies have the resources they need despite questions about recent staffing changes.
"We're committed to providing the CDC and the FDA with the resources that they need," Leavitt told reporters. "Most importantly, [we're working to] trace the outbreak back to its original source, which we are currently in the process of doing."

The outbreak has heightened concern because investigators still have not identified the contaminated food, leaving consumers without a specific product to avoid as federal and state officials work to trace the illnesses through patient interviews and food supply records.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday described the upcoming midterm elections as a choice "between communism and common sense" following a string of recent progressive wins in Democratic primaries.
"I know the president and many Americans are extremely concerned [about] how far left the Democrat party is moving," Leavitt said in an interview with "Fox & Friends."
"This is not your granddaddy's Democrat party," she continued. "These are communists. The president is trying to call them that. They want to abolish private prisons, they want to abolish the police, they want to abolish private property. These are radical, Marxist ideas that have never worked in the history of the world."
"I think it's a choice coming up between communism and common sense. That's how the president views it," she said.
The press secretary's comments come after three leftist candidates supported by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) won congressional primaries in New York last Tuesday, with two candidates beating establishment-backed incumbents.
