Among basketball's most meaningful mentorships, few relationships combined intellectual curiosity and genuine authenticity quite like the connection between Kobe Bryant and Kyrie Irving. Irving's latest recollections suggest that Bryant's most valuable influence on him extended well beyond the basketball court.
For Irving, achieving the highest level of basketball success happened relatively early in his career. Even with a championship already on his résumé, Irving began searching for something more meaningful.
Bryant was widely recognized for his relentless pursuit of knowledge. The Lakers legend routinely studied successful people from different industries. He saw that same curiosity in Irving and understood that the young star was interested not only in becoming a better basketball player but also in understanding life.

Because of that, Bryant recommended that Irving read The Alchemist, believing the book could help him change his perspective and become less consumed with proving his critics wrong.

Sources suggest the palace is prepared for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to the UK, with Harry aware that every public appearance could attract significant attention. However, he reportedly believes the working royals will avoid getting drawn into the spotlight and remain focused on carrying out their royal duties.
According to Rob Shuter, the palace is not particularly concerned about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to the UK. He claimed that while their arrival is likely to attract significant attention, the palace recognizes that publicity does not necessarily translate into power. Despite the headlines surrounding the Sussexes, he said the royal household remains aware that they have no control over the monarchy.
Shuter also reflected on how distance can fuel intrigue, while proximity can have the opposite effect. He suggested that the palace may actually prefer the Sussexes to remain in Britain, arguing that being closer to the royal family could eventually make them seem more ordinary. By contrast, distance can create greater curiosity and amplify interest in their every move.
He further claimed that the Sussexes are expected to continue living as private individuals in the UK. However, their return could also give King Charles an opportunity to privately reconnect with his son and spend more time with his grandchildren.
He further mentioned, "Initially, every sighting will generate headlines. But the Palace understands what happens when you stop feeding a story: eventually it shrinks." He stated that despite their return, the royals will continue their normal working lives.

A five-year correlation this low is not a statistical curiosity; it is what an earnings stream built on barrels and product margins looks like beside the index.
ExxonMobil (XOM) has gained 4.3% over the last five trading days while the S&P 500 slipped 0.5%, and a stock rising while the tape sags is the kind that gets chased. But the question that decides your outcome is different: how much of this return is its own story rather than the index you already own, and what owning it does to your swings. On five years of evidence, most of that return is not the index.
Most Of What Moves This Stock Is Not What Moves The Index
Over the past five years ExxonMobil's correlation to the S&P 500 has been 0.26, on a scale where 1.0 would mean lockstep. Gold, the ***** et investors hold precisely because it does its own thing, correlates to this stock at 0.1 over the same five years. The index reading is higher, and still describes a stock that has largely moved independently of the broad market. That independence has not cost return, though it has cost calm: the stock annualized 30.2% over that window against 13.2% for the index, at 26.7% volatility versus 17.2%.

Georgia Hunter Bell nonchalantly raised her arms to the delight of a euphoric Birmingham home crowd after a supreme display to win a first European 1,500m crown. Three and a half laps of sheer dominance underlined a rare treble following victories at the World Indoor Championships and Commonwealth Games.
But despite immense success in 2026, the Olympic and World medalist quickly allowed her mind to drift before exiting the Alexander Stadium. Her curiosity and appetite for more, even "a bit of fomo," left her imagining what role she might have played in the ***** anic 800m clash before, as European champion Audrey Werro took down Hunter Bell's teammate Keely Hodgkinson and Femke Broeders-Bol.
Well, we will soon gain some insight, after it was confirmed that Hunter Bell will join that star-studded trio and World champion Lilian Odira in the Zurich Diamond League 800m next Thursday, in what could whet the appetite for a golden era in the event in the build-up to LA28.
"It was really close between me and Werro last year in Zurich," Hunter Bell tells the Independent when looking ahead to the closing stages of her season. "It was a dip on the line, but this year is such a good line-up. It's me, Keely, Werro, Femke and Lilian. I think it will be a really great race.
"I'm going to see about the Diamond League Final, too. I want to do it, but I also need to be conscious of how much racing I'm doing and training I'm missing. Then I need to make a decision about the World Ultimate Championships. I'll definitely be doing it, but I haven't decided which event right now.

Just a few days ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off their 2026 season with an impressively lopsided 28-9 victory over the Green Bay Packers. While we must acknowledge that neither team featured its star players, nor the type of playcalling we can expect once the games start to count for real, it's also hard to introduce yourself to a new fanbase in a more impressive fashion than Mike McCarthy and his staff did on Thursday night.
This is going to be quite a meaty post with several clips to share and examine, so let's not beat around the bush. The following are highlights and lowlights of my impressions from the game. If any of these clips inspire some curiosity, or if you have any insights to add to the conversation, remember to get down in the comments section and join the conversation.
There's going to be a lot of positives we'll look at from this game, so let's start off with a dose of negativity before we wash things down with what went well.
The Steelers offensive line got off to a tough start on Thursday before settling in once both teams' reserves took over. Collectively, the Steelers allowed 10 pressures and 3 sacks in pass protection. Four of those pressures were at the hands of the starting lineup — Troy Fautanu (2), Mason McCormick (1), and Dylan Cook (1) — and a fifth pressure was credited to running back Travis Homer, who started the game with both Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle in street clothes for this game. The rushing attack managed just 2.7 yards per carry. And Fautanu was tagged for both a false start penalty and an offensive holding call.
It certainly wasn't a pristine showing for the unit.

Taylor Swift's love life has fascinated fans for years, becoming almost as widely discussed as her record-breaking music career. From fellow musicians to acclaimed actors and professional athletes, the global superstar has been linked to some of entertainment's biggest names. While her relationships have often inspired headlines—and occasionally hit songs—they have also fueled endless public curiosity about the people who have shared her journey.
Over the years, Swift has been romantically connected to celebrities including Joe Jonas, Calvin Harris, Harry Styles, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Tom Hiddleston, and Alexander Skarsgård. Among her most significant relationships was her romance with British actor Joe Alwyn. Beginning in 2016, the pair kept their relationship remarkably private despite Swift's worldwide fame. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they quarantined together and even collaborated on several songs, with Alwyn receiving songwriting credits on award-winning tracks. After six years together, however, the couple quietly ended their relationship in 2023.
Following a brief romance with Matty Healy, frontman of the British band The 1975, Swift's personal life took another unexpected turn when she began dating NFL superstar Travis Kelce. Their relationship quickly became one of the most talked-about celebrity romances in the world, blending two massive fan bases from music and professional sports. Swift regularly attended Kansas City Chiefs games to support Kelce, while the tight end traveled internationally to watch performances on her record-breaking Eras Tour. Their mutual support and public appearances made them one of entertainment's most recognizable power couples.
The relationship reached a new milestone when the couple became engaged in August 2025. Less than a year later, in July 2026, they reportedly celebrated their wedding at New York City's iconic Madison Square Garden. The ceremony was conducted under extraordinary security measures, including extensive street closures, private security teams, and a guest list filled with celebrities from music, film, sports, and television. Despite the intense public interest surrounding the event, organizers worked carefully to maintain the couple's privacy throughout the celebration.
Taylor Swift's relationships have always attracted enormous media attention, but her romance with Travis Kelce has become one of the defining celebrity stories of recent years. Combining the worlds of global pop music and professional football, the pair have demonstrated how two high-profile careers can support one another while remaining at the center of worldwide attention. Whether through music, sports, or their shared public appearances, Swift and Kelce continue to captivate fans across the globe.

A.J. Hinch understands why the Detroit Tigers' trade deadline created frustration inside and outside the clubhouse.
Detroit traded Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize while remaining close to an American League playoff spot, leaving Hinch to guide a roster dealing with both disappointment and uncertainty.
"It's impossible not to be emotional about it," Hinch said. "It comes with some curiosity and it comes with some frustration. But once that settles, you look up and there's 50 games left and we're going to play all of them and we're going to try to win all of them. But I'm not naïve to the fact that the path is a little harder and that this group, coming off a really good series in Sacramento, is beat up a little bit."
The deadline changed Detroit's rotation, but Hinch does not believe it changed the responsibility facing the players who remain.
"But when the first pitch is thrown tonight, our guys will be ready to play because we're pretty tough-minded," Hinch said. "We understand what's in front of us. I don't think anybody is ready to cancel the season so play on."

Antoine Winfield Jr. may not have revealed much, but what he did say could be one of the biggest storylines surrounding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defense entering the 2026 season.
When asked about the defense during training camp, Winfield smiled before saying he "might be involved in some of the scheme changes," adding that he couldn't say much because he didn't want to give anything away. It wasn't a lengthy answer, but it was enough to spark curiosity about what Todd Bowles could have in store for one of the NFL's most versatile defensive playmakers.
During his All-Pro campaign, Winfield was everywhere. He blitzed off the edge, lined up in the slot, played deep safety, defended the run, and forced turnovers at an elite rate. His unique versatility made him nearly impossible for opposing offenses to account for, as Bowles constantly moved him around the formation to create confusion before the snap.
Last season, however, Winfield wasn't quite the same game-changing presence. Whether it was injuries, opposing offenses adjusting, or simply the way he was deployed, the splash plays that had become synonymous with his game weren't as frequent. For Tampa Bay's defense to return to elite status, getting Winfield back to that All-Pro level has to be one of the coaching staff's biggest priorities.
His comments suggest Bowles may have found new ways to maximize his skill set. That could mean more opportunities to blitz, more snaps closer to the line of scrimmage, or even a hybrid role that allows him to disguise coverages before rotating into different responsibilities after the snap. Bowles has long been known for his creativity, and no player on the roster is better suited to execute those concepts than Winfield.

The possibility of Aaron Donald coming out of retirement to join the Los Angeles Rams is perhaps the biggest storyline around the NFL. Andrew Whitworth added fuel to the fire as he seems to expect Donald will be rejoining the Rams at some point.
Whether it's Sean McVay, Whitworth, Donald himself, no one is saying it's not going to happen. At this point, people are mostly and moreso saying that Donald is more likely to come back than not. That can change, and Donald may not come back, but it's being set up that he's expected to return. For now.
If that is truly announced, that will be major news. Until then, it's speculation, and it's still news as is.
Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Tuesday! NFL season is getting closer.
"A lot of people think about the games and stuff, but it's really putting your body through the impacts and the down in and down out of running into other big, strong humans all the time," he said. "Your tissue doesn't just walk around ready for that. You've got to prepare, and so I think some of this was him, 'Hey, is the passion still there? Do I still have that ability to be sore as ******* and every day wanting to go chase it. And I think for him, that kind of meant for the last month, month and a half, really training like a football player and doing some of the drills, some of the things he used to do day in and day out and seeing where he's at physically. And that's some of the stuff we talked about. I asked him where he's at. Is he still training? Does he still think he wants to do it? I think there's still a definite curiosity to do it. I think he's super fired up about trying to see if it's there, but I think it takes time to find out, is the drive still there?"

Growing up in the heart of Los Angeles, Zoey Deutch was surrounded by the entertainment industry from an early age, but she has worked hard to establish an identity built on her own talent rather than her family's legacy. With a natural screen presence, sharp comedic timing, and an increasingly diverse filmography, Deutch has emerged as one of Hollywood's most versatile actresses. From independent dramas to romantic comedies and major studio productions, she has consistently demonstrated an ability to move effortlessly between genres while maintaining a distinctive charm that resonates with audiences.
Born into a family deeply connected to film and television, Deutch is the daughter of actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch, while her sister, Madelyn Deutch, has also built a successful career as an actress and writer. Despite these influences, Zoey has always embraced her own creative path. Proud of her Southern California roots, she often speaks fondly of growing up in the San Fernando Valley and appreciates the unique experience of living and working in the same city. Her upbringing extended beyond film sets, however. Surrounded by a wide variety of family pets, she developed an appreciation for animals that she believes helped shape her empathy and understanding of different personalities. Years of training in ballet, jazz, tap, modern dance, and hip-hop also instilled discipline, physical awareness, and confidence that later translated naturally into her performances on screen.
Away from acting, Deutch is known for her enthusiasm for food and cooking. She enjoys experimenting with new flavors and recipes and has often spoken about the pleasure she finds in preparing meals for family and friends. Dinner, in particular, holds a special place in her routine, offering an opportunity to slow down, enjoy meaningful conversations, and connect with the people around her. Whether taking on the challenge of cooking a full holiday feast for the first time or discovering unexpected flavor combinations, she approaches food with the same curiosity and enthusiasm that she brings to her creative work.
Although Deutch is open about many of her interests, she also values maintaining a sense of privacy. She prefers allowing audiences to interpret her films for themselves rather than explaining exactly what they should take away from a performance. This thoughtful approach reflects her broader philosophy of letting the work speak for itself. As her career continues to evolve, Zoey Deutch has established herself as far more than Hollywood royalty by **** ociation. Through dedication, versatility, and an authentic passion for storytelling, she continues to earn recognition on her own merits while building a career that promises to remain one of the most exciting of her generation.

The NFL Players ******* ociation has investigated the circumstances surrounding the recent ACL tear suffered by Panthers linebacker Nic Scourton. And the NFLPA has concluded that the Panthers did nothing wrong.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFLPA has reviewed the video of the injury. It confirmed the preliminary conclusion that it was simply an unfortunate injury.
The issue became a proper subject of curiosity given the negotiated limits of the five-day acclimation period. Among other things, it mandates no contact during practice.
Ultimately, it's one of the basic realities of training camp. A season-ending injury can happen at any time, to any player. And any one injury could potentially alter a team's prospects for the season.
Depending on the player and the team, it could alter the entire landscape of the coming season.

2026 has marked a significant turning point in biotech capital markets, not just a small comeback. Venture funding for biotech startups reached $9.1 billion in the first half of the year, the highest first-half total since 2022, while 13 biotech IPOs raised a combined $4.5 billion, with a median haul of nearly $302 million per offering, unusually high by recent standards, with the majority of this year's debutants still trading above their offering price. Dealmaking has also maintained its pace, with 38 acquisitions closing in the same time period, placing the industry at its fastest M&A pace in at least seven years.
Underneath that broad comeback is a more unique validation story for RNA interference in particular. The market for RNAi treatments is expected to rise from $2.9 billion in 2025 to $3.6 billion in 2026. This growth comes after RNAi spent nearly two decades as a research curiosity before receiving its first licensed medicine in 2018. Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ALNY) has recently emerged as the clearest example of this transition, and the market's reaction raises the question of whether the story has been properly priced.
During Q1 2026, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ALNY) exceeded $1 billion in quarterly product revenue for the first time in its history, with $1.036 billion in net product revenue, up 121% year-over-year and 4% sequentially over Q4 2025, on total revenue of $1.17 billion, up 96% year-over-year. AMVUTTRA alone delivered $890 million, bringing total TTR franchise revenue (AMVUTTRA plus ONPATTRO) to $910 million, up 153% from the previous year.
That growth completely flipped the company's bottom line: GAAP net income was $206 million, compared to a $15.9 million loss in the same quarter the previous year, and GAAP income from operations came in at $268.6 million, up from a prior-year loss. A company that continued to burn cash a year ago is now solidly profitable on a GAAP basis.
The growth is also not driven by a single medicine, which is important for long-term viability. The rare disease franchise, GIVLAARI and OXLUMO, added $126 million, increasing 15% year-over-year, while AMVUTTRA's worldwide rollout has reached seven markets, with payment negotiations still ongoing in the Spanish and French markets. This means that a significant portion of the revenue base is yet to be released.

Liverpool's first pre-season outing of the summer was already going to carry curiosity, because a new head coach always brings questions, fresh ideas and a sense of reset. Yet Saturday's meeting with Sunderland now carries something far more important. As reported by BBC Sport, both clubs will honour Kevin Keegan with black armbands and a minute's applause before kick-off.
That feels fitting. Keegan belonged to an era when footballers seemed larger than life, full of energy, swagger and personality, and he left a mark on every club lucky enough to call him their own. He died this week at the age of 75, months after it was announced that he had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. For many supporters, particularly those of a certain vintage, the news landed with real force.
At Liverpool, Keegan was central to one of the club's great periods of growth. Nearly 750 club appearances came across his wider career, but the six years on Merseyside remain a huge part of why he is remembered with such affection. Three league ****** les, the European Cup, two UEFA Cups and the FA Cup tell their own story. So do the Ballon d'Or wins in 1978 and 1979, achieved while he was with Hamburg, proof that his standing stretched well beyond English football.
He was a footballer who played with urgency and emotion, and those are qualities supporters always respond to. Trophies matter, of course, but connection matters too. Keegan had both.
This match also opens the Andoni Iraola chapter. After the collapse of last season and the end of Arne Slot's reign in May, Liverpool head into 2026-27 needing clarity and momentum. Iraola's first game arrives with notable absentees after Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate departed at the end of last term.

Arrakis, a seven-month old London- and Paris-based startup building what it calls an AI "operating system" for industrial companies, is emerging from stealth with $38 million in venture capital funding. It says its goal is to bring agentic AI to sectors such aerospace, energy, logistics, and manufacturing.

The company's latest funding is a $30 million Series A led by Blossom Capital, with participation from venture capital firms Accel, GFC, MainObject, and Rerail. Accel led an earlier $7.5 million seed round, and individual backers include Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel and OpenAI's head of business products, Olivier Godement.

The latest round values the company at $140 million post-money, cofounder and CEO Rafael Quintanilla told Fortune.

Quintanilla is a former vice president at Accel. While there, he spent the better part of a year crisscrossing the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East to develop the firm's thesis on defense and industrial resilience. What he found convinced him to quit and become a founder himself.
"I realized that there was a huge gap between what I was seeing at Accel and in the Valley, with us investing in companies like Anthropic and Lovable in Europe," he said, "and what I was seeing in the more industrial parts of the economy."

He said that most AI has targeted so-called knowledge workers who complete their jobs using software, but that many more jobs in the economy involve the production and movement of physical goods. "Most AI investment to date has targeted the 30% of workers behind a desk. The real ROI lies in the 70% running industrial operations," he said.
Sonali de Rycker, the Accel partner who backed Arrakis's seed round, said she is betting on the founder as much as the market. "Rafa has a rare combination of curiosity, hustle and tireless drive," she told Fortune. "After working closely with Rafa during his time at Accel, it's an honour to be working with him again as an entrepreneur."
But Arrakis is hardly alone in going after manufacturing and industrial firms. Consulting giants such as Accenture and Boston Consulting Group are racing into industrial AI, as is Palantir, and Jeff Bezos-backed Prometheus—now valued in the tens of billions of dollars—is pouring capital into automating the engineering of physical products. The frontier labs are circling too.
Quintanilla argues Arrakis is carving out a distinct niche from each of these competitors. If Prometheus worked with Airbus, he said, it would build AI for "the core engineering of building an aircraft." He said Arrakis, by contrast, "want[s] to take care of everything around it… We want to be the AI layer for key operations of those companies."

NEW DELHI: India's teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again captured the spotlight on Thursday — not just for rewriting cricket history, but also for the heartfelt celebration that followed his record-breaking half-century.

The 15-year-old produced a breathtaking innings against Zimbabwe in the first T20I at Harare, smashing a 50 off just 18 ******* to become the youngest player ever to score a fifty in men's international cricket.

Moments after reaching the milestone, Sooryavanshi broke into his now-famous 'A' celebration, forming the letter with his fingers before acknowledging the dressing room. The emotional gesture, which first went viral during IPL 2026, has now become synonymous with the young opener.

The left-hander's explosive knock featured four boundaries and four sixes, giving India a flying start in their chase of 126 after Zimbabwe were restricted to 125/7.

WATCH:
While the celebration sparked widespread curiosity during the IPL, Sooryavanshi had initially played down its significance, insisting he simply enjoyed trying different celebrations after reaching milestones.

"I don't know. I just do something new every match. I don't really plan it. There's no meaning behind it," he had said after one of his IPL knocks.

However, the real meaning behind the gesture later emerged in a behind-the-scenes Rajasthan Royals video.

Speaking to team manager Romi Bhinder, the youngster finally revealed that the 'A' is a tribute to his mother, Aarti.

"The celebration is for my mother. Her name starts with the letter 'A'," Sooryavanshi had revealed.

Since then, the celebration has become his trademark, and Thursday's emotional tribute carried even greater significance after he etched his name into the record books.
At 15 years and 118 days, Sooryavanshi eclipsed Nepal's Kushal Malla, who previously held the record after scoring his maiden international fifty at 15 years and 340 days.

The Indian opener also surpassed some of cricket's biggest names on the all-time list. Sachin Tendulkar scored his maiden international fifty at 16 years and 213 days in a Test against Pakistan in 1989, while Shahid Afridi reached the milestone at 16 years and 214 days during an ODI against Sri Lanka in 1996.

The innings also made Sooryavanshi the youngest player ever to register a 50-plus score in men's T20Is, comfortably bettering Gibraltar's Louis Bruce, who had held the previous T20I age record.

Already one of the biggest stories of IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi has now carried that form onto the international stage.

Cam Skattebo decided to test the hearts of New York Giants fans as the second-year running back, who is recovering from a broken right fibula and dislocated right ankle, decided to do a backflip on stage this past weekend at Fanatics Fest.
While Skattebo said he was "perfectly fine" and promised to "not hurt myself before the season," there was a curiosity as to what John Harbaugh would think when he saw the video. While the new Giants head coach has not spoken to the running back, he did seem to be ok with it all during an appearance on the "Bleav in Giants" podcast.
"I haven't talked to him yet, I'm going to talk to him I'm sure. My reaction was this: Dude, at least stick it. I mean, land the thing if you're going to do it, you know?" a smiling Harbaugh said. "That was my first reaction."
Skattebo said in May that his rehab was coming along good and that while the physical part has been fine, it was the mental battle that's been the toughest. Despite that, he noted he'll be "ready to go" for the Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys,

There was plenty of curiosity surrounding Jose Mourinho’s first day back at Real Madrid, but for Dean Huijsen, the occasion felt a little different.
While many members of the squad were working under the Portuguese coach for the first time, the young centre-back was reunited with a manager he already knows well from their time together at Roma.
That previous connection meant Huijsen walked into pre-season with a clearer understanding of what Mourinho expects, and, perhaps more importantly, the person behind the demanding public image.
As Real Madrid officially kicked off preparations for the 2026/27 campaign at Valdebebas, Huijsen took time to greet supporters before briefly speaking to the media.
Mourinho’s training sessions have carried a reputation for intensity, discipline and attention to detail.

The conversation surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding shows no signs of slowing down. As Swifties continue to dissect every detail from the celebration, an alleged ******* tail menu has emerged as the latest viral talking point. The image claims to reveal three personalized drinks inspired by the couple, and social media users have been quick to weigh in. Although its authenticity remains unconfirmed, one ******* tail has already won over fans with its clever name and unique blend of ingredients
An alleged ******* tail menu from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding has become the latest topic of discussion online. The image, shared by fan account theTSupdates on X alongside a photo from the couple's engagement, had the caption, "Some of the ******* tails menu at Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce's wedding." That said, the image has not been verified, and there has been no official confirmation that it is authentic.
Even so, fans wasted little time dissecting the menu. The photo appears to show three signature ******* tails created for the celebration: The English Teacher, The Gym Teacher, and T&Tequila. While each drink sparked curiosity, The English Teacher quickly emerged as the clear favorite among fans.
According to the unverified menu, the ******* tail includes Empress gin, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, lavender syrup, and fresh lemon juice. The refreshing combination immediately caught the attention of Swifties, many of whom said it sounded like the perfect summer ******* tail.
The drink's name also appears to reference one of the couple's best-known relationship milestones. After announcing their engagement in August last year, Swift shared a series of photos on Instagram alongside the caption, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married." It seems the alleged ******* tail names were inspired by that announcement, with The Gym Teacher seemingly serving as Kelce's counterpart.

There are some players whose influence lingers long after their final appearance, and Thiago Alcantara remains one of them at Anfield. Elegant on the ball, exacting in thought, he always gave the impression of seeing the game a fraction earlier than everyone else. That quality tends to invite an obvious next question once a playing career winds down, whether the touchline might offer a natural second act.
For now, though, any immediate return to Liverpool as part of Andoni Iraola’s new coaching structure has been ruled out by the most prosaic of modern football barriers, licensing. Thiago himself has explained the issue clearly speaking to Rio Ferdinand on Rio Meets, saying, “I don’t have the badges. I don’t have enough of the badges to be a coach [at Liverpool].” It is a simple answer, though one that says plenty about the game’s increasingly formal pathways.
There had been understandable curiosity over Thiago’s next move after he left Barcelona’s staff at the end of the 2025-26 season. He had worked under Hansi Flick and, by all accounts, left a strong impression. The praise aimed at him in Catalonia suggested a figure already able to translate elite experience into practical support for players and staff, a former midfielder with both authority and empathy.
That fits with what was seen during his final season at Liverpool, when he spoke of helping team-mates develop. Some footballers coach by instruction, others by demonstration, others by quiet conversation. Thiago appeared capable of all three. In an age when coaching staffs are increasingly specialised, that kind of intelligence is valuable.
Liverpool, now reshaping under Iraola after a turbulent campaign, are in the middle of defining a new technical identity. In that context, the idea of bringing back a former player with Thiago’s grasp of rhythm, ***** ing and control carries obvious appeal. Not as a sentimental gesture, but as a football one.

Arch Manning was among the most hyped up players for the 2025 college football season, with **** ysts even projecting him to be the No. 1 overall pick in 2026 NFL Draft, win the Heisman Trophy, and even lead the Longhorns to a national championship.
Peyton Manning, who is regarded as a Tennessee Volunteers legend, is also an uncle to Arch, which is why the Super Bowl Champ’s support is always a point of curiosity for fans.
Talking about whether he’ll support Tennessee or Texas in the upcoming 2026 college football season, Peyton told the reporters at Manning Passing Academy on June 26th, 2026.
“Obviously, it’s going to be a huge SEC game. My dad dealt with it when I was in college when Tennessee played Ole Miss, We don’t really touch those topics in our family group chat… I love my university and alma mater – love them both unconditionally… but nothing’s more important to me than my family,” Peyton said. “When you have a nephew playing, I pull very hard for him every single Saturday so that’s pretty much a no-brainer that you’re pulling for your nephew to play well.”
Analysts like Paul Finebaum projected Arch to be the next Tim Tebow, predicting him to be one of the best college football players the game would see in over a decade.
