Can the Arizona Cardinals just be two score underdogs at SoFi Stadium every week?
In their two games there the Cardinals have wins.
Everywhere else they look like a mess, but they own Los Angeles so there is that.
Despite a big win over the Rams, the Arizona Cardinals still open as home underdogs ahead of their Ring of Honor ceremony for Larry Fitzgerald in their home game against the Denver Broncos.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Arizona Cardinals are 4.5-point underdogs ahead of their matchup with the Broncos.

Notre Dame's 28-24 loss to BYU on Saturday night was all kinds of hurt. As we pointed out earlier, there are layers to his kind of loss (and that was barely scratching the surface). Obviously a loss like that is going to affect the rankings and the chances to win a national championship. Right?
Well… maybe.
When the odds came out on Sunday, Notre Dame was one of the favorites to win the national championship. Some oddsmakers had the Irish having the nest odds in the country, but FanDuel Sportsbook had Notre Dame behind Ohio State — and now as of publishing this post, Georgia is ahead of the Irish too.
Betting odds aren't always the best predictors of future success, but it's quite something that even after a loss like the Irish just had to BYU — this whole season is still very much in play.
There are plenty of things we can rage about when it comes to this Notre Dame football team, but that is the case for most of the country as well. It's why a day like we just saw all over college football on Saturday happens. It's nuts, but that's what makes college football, college football.

The Kansas City Chiefs are welcoming the Denver Broncos for the season opener, a "Monday Night Football" battle between AFC West contenders. Head coach Andy Reid is looking to bring his team back to the playoffs after a 6-11 record last year, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be making his triumphant return from knee surgery last December.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton's team is the reigning AFC West champion, finishing last season 14-3 and losing in the AFC Championship. Quarterback Bo Nix is recovered from fracturing his ankle in the Divisional round win, looking to lead the Broncos into Arrowhead Stadium and pull an upset. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chiefs are 2.5-point favorites.

The Gophers were blown out at home by Mississippi State 38-13 in Week 2, and the game didn't even feel that close. Was it a difference in talent? Coaching? Let's play the blame game and figure out what went wrong for Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday's result was completely different than Minnesota's blowout losses at Oregon or Ohio State last season. Mississippi State has been near the bottom of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) over the last two seasons. Its preseason win total was set at over/under 4.5 wins, and the Gophers were favored to win Saturday's game, according to some sportsbooks. So what happened?
Recruiting site 247Sports makes a "Team Talent Composite" every season, which gives us a data point to use when comparing talent. Mississippi State is ranked 20th in the country with 26 four-star players on its roster. Minnesota is ranked 36th with 15 four-star players on its roster, according to the site.
If talent dictated results on the field, the Gophers shouldn't have lost 41-3 at Iowa last season, as they ranked one spot higher than the Hawkeyes on last year's team talent composite. Minnesota beat teams like Wisconsin and Nebraska last season, which ranked higher on the list.
The Gophers have two legit NFL Draft prospects in the trenches with Greg Johnson and Anthony Smith, an NFL-hopeful QB with Drake Lindsey, and plenty more talented playmakers across the field. 247Sports' points system gives Mississippi State's 2026 roster 798.6 compared to Minnesota at 745.8. Is that big enough of a difference for a 25-point loss at home?

As the Miami Hurricanes continue the journey of the 2026 regular season, our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook have released odds for the week 3 road game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
With no further ado, your FanDuel Sportsbook line of the week:
Per FanDuelSports, your Miami Hurricanes open as 21.5pt road favorites over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in week 3's Friday night ACC game.

Over/Under 53.5
For Miami, they're a national championship contender, if not favorite at this point of the year. With one of the most talented rosters in the country the Canes look to use and explosive offense led by star QB Darian Mensah and all-world WR Malachi Toney, Miami is going to be lighting up scoreboards all over the country all year long.
After dropping 77 points and a program-record 856 yards of offense last week against an overmatched FAMU Rattlers team, Miami will look to deploy their explosive offense again in Winston Salem this Friday night. While the numbers may be lower than last week, they should still be plenty robust. Miami has one of the most explosive offenses in the country, led by the duo of Mensah and Toney, and a run game that is very talented as well and rounding into form.

Welcome home Notre Dame. The Irish are the No. 3 team in the country and they will host… Rice. After a week of reminding people that a 28 point win over a Big 10 team that the Irish were 21 point favorites over is a GOOD thing, we arrive in cupcake land and are looking to commit one of the seven deadly sins.
A win is a win is a win, but for Notre Dame to stay out of the "what's happening" conversations, they have to be gluttonous.
It's the home opener, so let's have some fun out there.
When: Sunday, September 12 at 3:30 PM EST
Where: Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, Indiana
How to watch: NBC and Peacock
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Notre Dame is currently a 44.5 point favorite over Wisconsin with an over/under of 55.5 points.

Clay Matthews finally opens up about facial transformation originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Clay Matthews has been turning heads after his latest over-the-top facial transformation, and fans are finally getting the answers to why.
The former Green Bay Packers star has been photographed walking around New York City with exaggerated cheekbones and a chin, where he is nearly unrecognizable. At first, fans believed it was a possibility that the Super Bowl champion decided to change his appearance, but it was never confirmed until now what was actually going on behind the scenes.
Matthews spoke to TMZ on Sept. 9 and shared that it was a hilarious take on the"looksmaxxing" trend, but it's nothing but prosthetics. The former NFL star is partnering with Caesars Sportsbook for the look. He told the outlet he had to sit in a chair for four hours to complete the outrageous appearance. The betting app shared a video of Matthews sitting in the makeup chair, showing how they created the look.
The former NFL star shared in a press release that this was nothing like he's done before, but it was interesting to see it all come together.

To cap off Week 1 of the NFL season, on Monday evening, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos for a "Monday Night Football" bout at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on ABC and ESPN.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Kansas City begins the week as a 2.5-point favorite.
The last time these two franchises faced off was Christmas Day at Arrowhead; Denver closed as a 13.5-point favorite against the Chiefs without quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City covered, but the Broncos pulled away from a tie game in the fourth quarter to win 20-13.
Of course, Denver's victory sealed the clean sweep of the Chiefs in 2025: in Week 11, the Chiefs were four-point favorites on the road against the Broncos, but lost 22-19.
In the 2026 preseason, the Chiefs were defeated by the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks. The Broncos beat the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings, but lost to the Green Bay Packers.

The chief executive of Robinhood (HOOD) said on Bloomberg Television late last month that states suing to shut down prediction markets are protecting their own money. "States disagree for various reasons," Vlad Tenev said. "I mean, number one is there's a huge financial incentive from collecting taxes on these state-owned operators for that to be protected."
American Gaming ****** ociation figures put state and local tax collections from sports betting at $3.71 billion in calendar 2025, up 32.4% on the year, on $16.96 billion of sportsbook revenue and $166.94 billion of handle. New York, which taxes mobile sports betting at 51%, accounts for roughly a third of the national total on its own; the state's own court filing says mobile operators generated about $2 billion in gross gaming revenue in 2024 and paid more than $1 billion in state taxes. New York and Illinois together produce close to half of everything states collect on sports betting.

Well that didn't take too long, now did it? The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have finally put the offseason in the rearview mirrors for fans, and the 2026 season begins today in a Shamrock Series matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
The Irish come into this game ranked No. 4 in the country and are one of the favorites to win this year's national championship. That's great and all — it really is, but actual games on the field have to be played first.
Wisconsin has seen their fair share of troubles over the last few years, but that doesn't mean they won't put up a tremendous fight against Notre Dame.
When: Sunday, September 6 at 7:30 PM EST (6:30 local)
Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin
How to watch: NBC and Peacock
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Notre Dame is currently a 20.5 point favorite over Wisconsin with an over/under of 47.5 points.

After an always arduous offseason, Texas A&M football is officially just one day away now, as the Aggies gear up to face Missouri State at 6 p.m. on Saturday night at Kyle Field. And no, the Bears not striking fear into the hearts of many Aggie fans. They are in just their second season as an FBS program, they're playing their first game under a new coach, they're 128th nationally in returning production, they have never beaten a P4 opponent, and the Aggies are favored by 40.5 points, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
By any measure, this is not a game Texas A&M stands to lose. The result is written before the game has even begun. Based on that, it would be easy to write this game off as not all that important, and look ahead to what lies head on the calendar. But on that point, you would be wrong. Let me count the way.
There are still things to be gleaned. Even against inferior teams, strengths and weaknesses can become apparent. Is Marcel Reed's passing crisp? Did the receivers look dynamic? Was the defensive line stuffing the run and creating consistent pressure? Did we win the turnover battle? Even if the win/loss result is a foregone conclusion, there are often aspects of a team (both good and bad) that immediately jump off the screen in game one.
Enjoy all the other trappings of a college football gameday. If you are in College Station, that may mean Midnight Yell or a tailgate (refer to our guide to Texas A&M football gameday in College Station for more details there). If you're at home, maybe it's College Gameday and prepping your favorite gameday cuisine. Either way, well all have our rituals ******* ociated with college football that extend far beyond just the game itself. Getting to do those for the first time in quite a while is a reward unto itself.
An Aggie football is good Aggie football. Ultimately we're only guaranteed 12 of these things each year, and this is the first one we've gotten in nearly nine months. No matter who the opponent, football simply being back is enough. Even the worst day spent watching Texas A&M play football is better than the best day not watching it (I reserve the right to retract this statement when we suffer our first loss). Cherish it.

Brandon Lowe and Yordan Alvarez didn't hit home runs yesterday. As a result, the season's record for best home run bets slid to 21-84, with three no-bets. Hitting on long-shot bets is challenging, and that's reflected in the season's record for home run props.
Unfortunately, the two losses yesterday drained the middling profits. Anyone who bet $100 on each of this year's touted home run props is down $146, which is a disappointing outcome for grinding them all season.
Gamblers must have a short memory with losing bets and avoid holding grudges against players who failed to deliver a winning bet. Today's suggestions for the best home run bets are a perfect example of short memory. For the first time all season, I'm suggesting home run props for the same players as in the previous article. Lowe and Alvarez have favorable matchups and compelling betting odds for their home run props. Thus, they get the nod for the best home run props on Friday.
Over 0.5 Home Runs (+420) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Brandon Lowe has hit 23 of his 29 home runs this year against right-handed pitching, popping 15 at home and nine at home against righties. In four plate appearances yesterday, Lowe walked once and had flyouts on his three batted ******* . It's disappointing he didn't hit a home run yesterday, but he had no problem lifting the ball.

The first game of the 2026 season has finally arrived!
Arizona opens its latest campaign at Casino Del Sol Stadium against NAU, facing the Lumberjacks for the third time in four seasons. The Wildcats won the most recent meeting 22-10 in 2024, and this time around are 32.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
How will this first game go for the UA? Our staff makes its predictions.
The first few games of the year are always tough to predict when it comes to score. Fortunately, NAU has one game under its belt to give some idea. The Lumberjacks' 34-27 win conference win last week came against an Eastern Washington team that went 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the Big Sky last year. NAU is projected to finish fourth in the league this year, four spots above EWU. The 'Jacks are 20th in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll and 22nd in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25. So, they should be good enough to pull off at least a couple of scores against the Wildcats. Last season, they opened the season with a 38-19 loss at ASU. If Arizona can outperform those numbers on both sides of the ball, it will be a successful start to the season. The 33.5-point spread seems a bit large, though. The last time NAU lost by that much to either UA or ASU was 2023 when Arizona won 38-3.
I expect Arizona to control all three facets of the game against an NAU team picked to finish in the upper third of the Big Sky. The biggest question for me will be how long Arizona keeps Noah Fifita in there. If the game is remotely close in the third quarter, then I imagine Fifita's day lasts a little longer than it otherwise should. I'm looking forward to seeing which of the new receivers stands out. Defensively, I hope to see the turnover sword come out at least a couple of times.

There are not many believers in the 2026 version of the Miami Dolphins in the national media. Ever since the hiring of new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and the subsequent mass exodus of talent across the roster, the talk has been more about Miami's dead cap situation and the possibility of the organization "earning" the number one overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft than the team possibly winning actual football games on the field this upcoming season.
In Week One, Miami will travel to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders — a team that won three games in 2025 and wound up picking first in the 2026 NFL Draft themselves. Still, heading into that game, the Dolphins are considered the underdogs according to most sportsbooks. In fact, in most places, the Raiders are favored by at least three points, with some sites favoring them by four points or more.
Count the talking heads at NFL Network as those with the mindset that the Dolphins will be bad — like, really bad — in 2026. In fact, against the Raiders, not a single person has picked Miami to win that game, or even cover the spread.
NFL Network makes picks for Week 1, Dolphins at Raiders pic.twitter.com/XML8k3Jnpf
In 2025, the Raiders defense gave up an average of 25.4 points per game — the 8th most in the National Football League. As you can see above, Brandon Perna thinks the Dolphins will score exactly three points against that defense.

DraftKings is available on Texans' smartphones - but not through the traditional online sportsbook that operates in states where sports betting is legal.
Founded in Massachusetts in 2012, DraftKings is a digital sports entertainment and gaming company offering products that include online sports betting, daily fantasy sports, online casino games and prediction markets.
After the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act in 2018, states were allowed to decide whether to legalize sports betting. As of 2026, 39 states and Washington, D.C., have legalized it.
Texas has not.
So how can Texans legally use DraftKings? The answer comes down to which DraftKings product they use.

The wait is finally over! College football is back, and the Gophers open their 2026 regular season on Thursday night at 7 p.m. CT against Eastern Illinois at Huntington Bank Stadium. Minnesota is currently favored to win by as many as 43.5 points on some sportsbooks, but the Panthers are already 1-0 on the season.
Here are our staff's predictions for Thursday night.
The Gophers were favored by a similar spread last season against FCS opponent Northwestern State, and they won that game 66-0. Oddly enough, the Demons also snapped a losing streak before playing Minnesota in that one.
A returning QB, offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator makes me think Minnesota could get off to a hot start on Thursday night and cover the massive 43.5-point number. Eastern Illinois has lost its last three games against FBS opponents by a combined score of 132-7. I think Minnesota flexes its muscles early, and the majority of the starters are done before the fourth quarter, as they prepare for a massive Week 2 game against Mississippi State.

A 53-man roster isn't the only thing that NFL teams need to decide on this week. The league's cutdown deadline from 90 to 53 will come and go on Sunday afternoon, and on Monday it will be time for teams to begin ******* embling the other major piece of their rosters: the practice squad.
Over the last several years, this component of the roster has expanded greatly in significance. Not long ago, teams could carry a maximum of 8 players on the practice squad, but that number has gradually increased, now doubling to 16 (plus an additional 17th spot if a team signs a player with an international roster exemption). Furthermore, a player can be elevated from the practice squad to the active gameday roster a few times per year without a full promotion to the 53, making the unit a more functional squad of backups and injury replacements.
As a result, the NFL has expanded the eligibility rules for practice squads over the years as well. Now, a team can sign players with any level of experience to the squad. At least ten of the 16 spots must be taken up by players with two or fewer years of accrued NFL experience, but that leaves up to six slots that can be filled by players of any experience level.
Notably, teams cannot begin signing players to the practice squad until the league's post-roster cut waivers are processed. That will take place at 12 Noon Central Time on Monday, when waiver claims will be awarded. After that, any players who clear waivers become free agents and are eligible to sign with any team, either to a full 53-man roster spot or to a practice squad. Still, there will be reports during cutdown day on Sunday of players whom the Packers would like to bring back for the practice squad if they do clear waivers. Here, APC will keep track of those reports through Sunday, followed by the actual signings on Monday afternoon.
The Green Bay Packers have used the practice squad heavily in recent years as rules have changed, often promoting players to the gameday roster to fill in for injured players or to contribute on special teams. As such, today is an important day for general manager Brian Gutekunst and his staff, who will surely be working hard to bring back several individuals whom the Packers waived as part of Sunday's cutdown. Building out a deep squad can have a major impact on a team's ability to withstand challenges over the course of the season, and the quality of players on that unit could be the difference between the Packers going over or under their projected win total of 9.5, which is the current number on FanDuel sportsbook.

The Patriots aren't done.
A day after putting together their first 53-man roster for the 2026 NFL season, Mike Vrabel's team continues to be active.
Monday marked the day when thousands of players went through the waiver wire. NFL teams had until 1 p.m. ET to put a claim in for a player to add to their 53-man roster.
The Patriots claimed two veteran players: linebacker Darius Muasau and tight end Cameron Latu. The Patriots had one player claimed, with the Miami Dolphins claiming cornerback Marcellus Dial.

NFL cutdown day is underway, but the New England Patriots still have plenty left to do in building their team for the upcoming 2026 season. After finalizing an initial 53-man roster on Sunday, the team will look to add potential waiver-wire claims and build a 16-player practice squad.
Teams can enter waiver claims to add players with fewer than four accrued seasons to their active rosters until 1 p.m. ET on Monday. Shortly after, an initial 16-player practice squad can be built out of internal and external cuts.
In order to stay on top of all the moves New England will make over the next few hours, please make sure to bookmark and regularly revisit our up-to-the-minute tracker below. If you're trying to predict an NFL team's end-of-season record, the wrong way to do it is to bring up the schedule and pick results of each game. You simply can't hope to predict stuff that well, and you'd be better served finding a method that ******* igns a percent chance of winning each game, adding up those percentages and converting it to a win/loss record. Going game-by-game is silly.
But that's what I'm doing.
Because of that opening paragraph, what follows isn't betting advice. It is just a look at the schedule for each NFL team in 2026 and how things might shape up for them this season. Below, check out the 2026 week-by-week results for each NFL team with some thoughts on their outlook.

The wait is almost over.
Illinois football opens the 2026 season Thursday night at Memorial Stadium, and while there are plenty of questions surrounding Bret Bielema's new-look roster, the Illini enter their opener as a massive favorite against UAB.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Illinois is currently a 27.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at 54.5 points. The Illini moneyline sits at -7,000, while UAB is a massive +2,000 underdog.
So, what should we expect when the lights come on in Champaign?
There are certainly reasons to be cautious about laying nearly four touchdowns in a season opener.
