Ruby Rose is sharing a deeply personal glimpse into what she says was Hayden Panettiere's private pain before the actress died at 36. Rose posted screenshots of text messages she says came from Panettiere, with the exchanges focusing in part on the difficult relationship Panettiere had publicly described with her estranged mother, Lesley Vogel.
One screenshot showed a contact saved as "Hayden" telling Rose that she had been crying over her mother's alleged cruelty. "My god I'm 36 and she can still cause this kind of pain," the message read, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Entertainment Weekly said it could not independently verify the identity of the person messaging Rose. The outlet had contacted Rose's team for more information and Vogel for comment when its report was published.
The content nevertheless echoes comments Panettiere made publicly before her death about her relationship with Vogel. In one of her most candid interviews earlier this year, she described ending their professional partnership at 19 because she wanted the woman who had managed her career to simply become her mother again.

A Reddit post asked users to name "a horrible thing that a famous person did that everyone forgot about" and has drawn a long list of controversial celebrity and political stories.
The r/AskReddit post had more than 2,100 upvotes as of publication. Some of the most popular responses were allegations or events that have been documented in news reports, court records, or autobiographies. At the same time, several commenters also repeated claims that could use more context.
One of the top comments brought up comedian George Lopez and said he cheated on his wife after she donated a kidney to him. Lopez's ex-wife, Ann Serrano, donated a kidney to him in 2005 after he was diagnosed with a genetic condition. Later in 2010, the couple announced that they were ending their 17-year marriage, and Serrano filed for divorce in 2012. The official cause, however, was irreconcilable differences.
ABC News reporting on the divorce did not support the claim that adultery was the cause of their split.
Another highly upvoted comment was in reference to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Reddit users claimed he filed divorce papers against his first wife while she was recovering from cancer surgery. FactCheck.org, on the other hand, reported that Gingrich and Jackie Battley were already separated and in divorce proceedings when she was hospitalized in 1980. Battley had undergone cancer surgery earlier and was recovering from surgery to remove another tumor. Gingrich has also said that the two argued during the hospital visit.

Ruby Rose recently shared screenshots on social media that appear to be of texts from Hayden Panettiere. One of the apparent texts seems to refer to alleged mistreatment of Panettiere by her mother, Lesley Vogel. Panettiere died on August 16 at age 36 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Ruby Rose recently shared a couple of screenshots on Threads from a conversation seemingly with Panettiere in which she spoke about her mother's ill treatment towards her. The text was about Rose talking to another unidentified individual, where she spoke about their respective parents. Rose wrote, "they did not act or behave like mothers." The reply reads, "I was sobbing over her cruelty yesterday thinking, my god I'm 36 and she can still cause this kind of pain. I'm her only child left and this is how she wants to handle the situation?!"
Another text from a person saved as "Hayden" on Rose's phone also showed them mentioning a potential podcast idea (via Entertainment Weekly). The message reads, "I'd love to do a podcast/anothony [sic] Bourdain show where we talk about issues and then go to the ends of the earth to find solutions."
The screenshots come amid Vogel facing backlash over her initial comments following her daughter's death. However, she recently released another statement, clarifying her complex bond with her daughter and speaking about her passing. In a statement, Vogel said, "Although my daughter and I were estranged, it was not for lack of care or love. It was due to the involvement of a toxic individual who I believe led to her death." She described her as a "beautiful and talented young woman" who became involved with the wrong person, whom she claimed the family tried to remove from her life. However, she claims they were unsuccessful (via Entertainment Tonight).
"I hope all remember Hayden for the beautiful human being inside her and her gift to the world from her time on this earth. My heart is with you, Hayden. Mama," she concluded.

Meghan Markle reportedly felt "attacked" over one Princess Diana comparison while Kate Middleton avoided the same heat. The ******* ss of Sussex faced online backlash after sharing a birthday pool photo that critics compared to Diana's yacht image. A source claimed Meghan viewed the reaction as unfair because Kate also draws inspiration from Diana. The reported tension centered on fashion, public image, and who gets praised for royal homage.
As per a HeatWorld report, a source claimed Kate Middleton stayed silent after Meghan Markle's birthday photo backlash. The insider said Kate "won't have missed the skewering Meghan got." The source added that many people called it "an obvious attempt to copy Diana." However, Kate reportedly kept "totally out of the fray." The insider said she refused to upset Prince William by joining a "fashion war."
Meanwhile, the source said Kate clearly valued Diana's style legacy. The insider claimed there was "no doubt" Kate took inspiration from Diana's "timeless fashion choices." The Princess of Wales was also given some of Diana's jewelry by William. The source said Kate "treasures" those pieces. Still, the insider added that Kate would never want to feed a "catty narrative" about Princess Diana.
However, the same report claimed Markle viewed the different reactions as unfair. The source said Meghan would argue she was "only doing the same thing." Instead of being praised like Middleton, she was "attacked," the insider claimed. For context, Meghan shared black-and-white birthday photos. The images showed her jumping into a circular pool with balloons.
Soon after, the pictures sparked Princess Diana comparisons online. A recent report said one X account shared a side-by-side with Diana's 1997 Saint-Tropez vacation photo. Some users claimed Meghan was "cosplaying," while another wrote, "She always recreates her images." The HeatWorld insider pushed back, saying Meghan had shared "a fun photo" from her birthday. The source added she was "torn apart" because Diana was once photographed jumping from a yacht. For Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, the source framed the dispute as a double-standard debate.

Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) has expanded its partnership with Google to develop custom chips for AI infrastructure, strengthening its position in the growing custom-silicon market. The agreement covers several areas linked to Google's Tensor Processing Unit ecosystem, including AI inference accelerators, storage and networking products, memory interface controllers, and near-memory computing.
Alongside the commercial agreement, Marvell issued Google a warrant to buy up to 58.97 million Marvell shares at $206.58 each. If fully exercised, the warrant would be worth about $12.18 billion. The headline figure is important, but it needs some context because Google is not committing $12.18 billion upfront. Most of the warrants will vest only as Marvell generates revenue from Google over the coming years.
Investors reacted strongly to the news, with Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) shares gaining more than 11% in premarket trading. Broadcom, Google's existing custom-chip partner, fell more than 2%.
Photo from Marvell website
The most important part of the deal may be the way the warrant is structured. Most of the shares are linked to actual revenue from Google rather than simply vesting over time. That gives investors a fairly clear way to track how the relationship develops.

WILLIAMSPORT, PA(WBRE/WYOU)-- The last seven days have been a whirlwind for the twelve year old all-stars from West Chester, PA. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Champions have been on the road since capturing the ***** le Friday, August 14th in Bristol, Connecticut.
East Side Little League Manager Bob Hennessey said, "It's awesome, and the support back home has been unbelievable. Getting messages, texts, social media posts."
East Side pitcher and outfielder Cole Warner shined in the clinching game of the Mid-Atlantic Regionals. "Seeing all the fans, and like the parents and the kids asking for all of us. It's like being a MLB player," said Warner.

On August 11, Venture Global (NYSE:VG) reported its Q2 2026 earnings. While the text implies an established corporate history, Venture Global completed its IPO in January 2025, making this only its second Q2 report as a publicly traded company. The company posted its largest quarterly EBITDA ever, raised its full-year guidance for the second time this year, and lifted its dividend by triple digits. But the stock still carries one of the most lopsided sentiment profiles on the market, and that gap between the fundamentals and the trading floor is the real story here.
The headline number was $2.5 billion in consolidated adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter of 2026, a 79% jump from the $1.4 billion posted in the same quarter of 2025. Revenue followed the same trajectory, climbing 48% year over year to $4.6 billion, with $1.3 billion of that increase coming from higher sales volumes and the rest from better pricing. Venture Global shipped 466 TBtu of LNG in the quarter, up from 329 TBtu a year earlier, and net income attributable to common stockholders came in at $1.3 billion, up 266% from $368 million.
That kind of operating leverage let management raise 2026 EBITDA guidance to a range of $8.7 billion to $9.1 billion, up from the $8.2 billion to $8.5 billion range given back in May. The company also exported its 1,000th cargo, just four years after its first shipment in March 2022, while keeping 91% of its 2026 volumes contracted, up from 84% at the start of the year. On the balance sheet side, Venture Global refinanced $5.3 billion of debt and preferred equity during the quarter, part of more than $103 billion raised or refinanced since the company's founding, a move management says will cut annual interest and coupon costs by more than $100 million. The board followed that up by raising the quarterly dividend 122% to $0.04 per share.
Not everything in the release points in one direction. Management kept its EBITDA guidance range wider than usual, citing LNG price volatility tied to events in the Middle East, and said it would only narrow that range after the third quarter. The current guidance ****** umes a liquefaction fee of $12.50 to $13.50 per MMBtu for uncontracted 2026 cargoes, and every $1 swing in that fee moves EBITDA by $180 million to $210 million, a reminder of how exposed results still are to global gas prices.
Much of the company's future growth also sits years out. A final investment decision on the 10 MTPA CP2 expansion isn't expected until early 2027, with first production not until late 2028, while the Plaquemines expansion is targeting an FID in the first half of 2027 and Phase 1 output only starting in 2029. Of the roughly 85 MTPA of run-rate production expected once all three projects and their bolt-ons are online, only about 53 MTPA is currently committed under long- and medium-term contracts, leaving 32 MTPA still to be marketed. And despite the dividend increase, the payout remains modest at $0.04 per share, even as t

Evidence about Karmelo Anthony's alleged history with knives and violence was kept from the jury that convicted him of murder, prosecutors said Thursday as they fought his push for another trial.
The allegations surfaced during Anthony's new-trial hearing, where lead prosecutor Bill Wirske said Anthony's former girlfriend went to his school on the morning of the stabbing and reported that she was afraid of him.
Wirske also said the state had text messages and other material it contends showed Anthony's interest in violence and knives. None of that material was presented to jurors during Anthony's murder trial.
Texas Judge Who Presided Over Karmelo Anthony Murder Trial Removed From Case Over 'Got It Right' Comment
The prosecutor said Anthony's original defense team entered a verbal agreement with the state to keep character evidence involving Anthony, Austin Metcalf and Austin's brother, Hunter Metcalf, out of the trial.

Pershing Square Holdings stated the following regarding Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE:HHH) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"At Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE:HHH) in June, we closed the acquisition of Vantage Group Holdings Ltd. ("Vantage"), a specialty insurance and reinsurance company. We thereafter announced a leadership transition whereby former Arch Capital Group (NASDAQ: ACGL) CEO Marc Grandisson became Executive Chairman of Vantage, and David Gansberg, Marc's former co-President, will become CEO of Vantage when his non-compete ends in June of next year. Marc and David recently worked as close partners to grow Arch, one of the most successful insurance and reinsurance companies. During Marc's nearly seven-year tenure as CEO, Arch delivered a total shareholder return of 298%, or 23.2% per annum, compared to 144% and 14.4% for the S&P Insurance Index over the same period.
With the benefit of Marc's and David's leadership and Pershing Square's fee-free management of Vantage's investment portfolio, we believe that HHH is well-positioned to become what we have deemed a modern-day Berkshire Hathaway. While HHH generates a small portion of Pershing Square's fee revenues today, we believe that HHH now has the potential to accelerate its growth in intrinsic value and share price, which will drive HHH's market capitalization and, in turn, the variable service fees that we will earn from the company..." Director Griff Furst came under fire Tuesday following his tribute for late actress Hayden Panettiere, with some blasting the post as "ambulance chasing."
For those who didn't see the video statement uploaded to Instagram, Furst, who directed Panettiere in one of her last movies, 2025's "A Breed Apart," explained he wanted to speak directly to his fans out of fear tabloids would take what he had to share "out of context."
"I had met Hayden about 10 years before that and I knew that she was insanely talented, so when she signed on to do this picture that we were shooting, I was psyched," Furst recalled. "I really wanted to work with her. So I'm on set, and I get word from the movie's security team who picked her up from the airport that something was off."
He continued: "I didn't think much about it, and so I left set and I walked over to greet her and her boyfriend Brian [Hickerson]. He opened the door. Hayden was incredibly sweet and gracious and excited to work, but she was not okay."
"I'm not going to get into the details of why that was, but having worked on over 100 movies and seeing just about everything, it was pretty clear that she wasn't okay," Furst noted. "And the energy in her room was pretty dark."

José E. Feliciano looks on during the Game 2 of the MLB World Tour Mexico City Series between the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks at Alfredo Harp Helu Stadium. The record sale of the Padres to him is already playing into salary cap discourse. (Photo by Meg McLaughlin / The San Diego Union-Tribune via Getty Images)
It may seem odd that the sale of the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Lakers would become a flashpoint for Major League Baseball's push for a salary cap, but make no mistake, the league and the MLB Players **** ociation are already teeing it up.
For all the talk by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and other executives in the league about listening to the fans regarding implementing a salary cap, underneath the surface is something tied to it that would massively inflate owner profits: increased franchise valuations. A salary cap, with its floor, ceiling, and other constraints on player contracts, creates cost certainty and therefore improves the value of the franchise itself.
Within the last week, two club sales highlight the differences between MLB and the NBA. Both have details that provide context over some of the talking points that the headline figures provide.
On Monday, MLB's owners unanimously approved the record-setting $3.8 billion sale to the new ownership group of the San Diego Padres, led by incoming control person José E. Feliciano and his wife and business partner, Kwanza Jones. The vote, conducted by conference call, does not close the books entirely on the sale. Approval remains contingent on closing the transaction involving the controlling interest in the club with the Seidler family, which the league said is "expected in the weeks ahead."

Greenhaven Road Capital, an investment management company, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The fund achieved an approximate 11% net return in the second quarter, indicating progress from the first quarter. Key changes to the portfolio will include lower concentration and increased investments with near-term catalysts, alongside a proactive stance on profit-taking. The focus will remain on owning strong businesses and conducting research that challenges consensus views, as several major investments are poised for significant events within the year. Despite declines in market multiples, underlying businesses continue to grow, suggesting a favorable positioning for returns. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Greenhaven Road Capital highlighted Kingsway Corporation (NYSE:KWY). Kingsway Financial Services Inc. changed its name to Kingsway Corporation (NYSE:KWY) in May 2026. Kingsway Corporation (NYSE:KWY) is a Chicago-based holding company that operates in extended warranty and business services. On August 14, 2026, Kingsway Corporation (NYSE:KWY) closed at $9.94 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $284.54 million. Kingsway Corporation (NYSE:KWY) posted a one‑month return of 4.85%, while its shares lost 29.50% over the past 52 weeks.
Greenhaven Road Capital stated the following regarding Kingsway Corporation (NYSE:KWY) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"With no sell-side coverage and roughly 60% insider ownership, Kingsway Corporation (NYSE:KWY) is effectively ignored by the market. The free float is small, and the business is genuinely hard to **** yze. It is transforming from a messy conglomerate into an N of 1 public company built around the search model. A legacy warranty business still has to be sold, but the signs of progress are tangible: management has **** embled a portfolio of nine companies.
In the first two years after an acquisition, earnings are typically depressed while capital goes into professionalizing the business and building out sales. Even so, the ramp in quarterly EBITDA for the KSX (Search) segment is already visible. Eight quarters ago, segment EBITDA was $1.4M. It nearly doubled to $2.6M two quarters ago, and last quarter it reached $3.5M, in a seasonally slow period. Given guidance for organic growth and the strength of the underlying businesses, there is a credible path to segment EBITDA of $6M+ per quarter this year..." (Click here to read the full text)

Everton continue talks with Tottenham over a possible Richarlison return, according to a report from Sébastien Vidal. Regular contact has continued between the clubs as the 29-year-old Brazilian considers a return to Goodison Park. Tottenham have no active push to sell him, yet Spurs remain open to a deal because his contract runs until 2027. Everton could wait for Beto or Thierno Barry to leave before moving faster. The report places those exits at the centre of the timing, with the Toffees needing room before accelerating.
Vidal's update points to a live discussion rather than an agreed transfer. Richarlison's willingness gives Everton encouragement, while Tottenham's stance keeps the door open without forcing negotiations. Spurs can still retain the forward, and that leverage is important with the window approaching its final stretch. For Everton, the sequence looks clear: sort an attacking departure first, then decide whether a reunion merits a formal push.
LONDON, ENGLAND – AUGUST 15: Richarlison of Tottenham Hotspur during the during the pre-season friendly match between Tottenham Hotspur and TSG Hoffenheim at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 15, 2026 in London, England. (Photo by Justin Setterfield/Getty Images)
Richarlison gives Everton a reason to spend. He earned 54 Brazil caps and scored 20 goals, while his 2025/26 Tottenham season brought 11 Premier League goals and four ***** ists from 32 appearances, including 20 starts, across 1,975 minutes. He added one goal and one ***** ist in seven Champions League games. That record gives Moyes a proven scorer for an attack needing more effectiveness.
Context matters, though. Beto scored nine Premier League goals for Everton last season, while Thierno Barry registered eight, so the numbers don't suggest a disaster. Still, Richarlison offers qualities the current options don't replicate: he can lead the line, drift left, press hard and handle Goodison Park pressure, where he scored 53 goals across four seasons.

Christian Parker's fingerprints have been on the Cowboys' defensive rebuild from the start. Dallas has not positioned its first-year defensive coordinator as the club's final authority on personnel (this is still the Cowboys after all), but it has clearly made room for his input in shaping the unit.
Will McClay said Parker "has a vision for the guys that we have," and the coordinator reportedly spent draft week sending McClay photos of Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence. Dallas came away with both players in the first round. Cute little coincidence? Please.
That context matters in the ongoing conversation around Von Miller's arrival.
Parker has consistently presented himself as a detail-driven coordinator who wants to build around the players at his disposal, rather than shove everyone into a rigid, prepackaged system and hope it works out.
Earlier in training camp, Parker said Dallas wanted to be "detailed" in its fundamentals, technique and scheme mastery. He has also described an instructional environment built on repeated communication, situational adjustments and mental reps.

Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian have one rule for keeping problems from following them into the next day: settle them before going to sleep. Four years into their marriage, the Blink-182 drummer says making sure they end the night connected—even when the disagreement is small—has become an important part of how they navigate their relationship.
"We try not to ever fall asleep mad at each other," Barker told People. That doesn't mean every disagreement is a major one. Barker used something as ordinary as a missed lunch plan or unanswered text as an example, saying the goal is simply to acknowledge what happened instead of allowing irritation to linger.
COMPLEX SHOP: Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Uncover what's next. Buy. Collect. Obsess.
"Even if it's just as simple as, like, 'Oh babe, I take accountability. I'm sorry. I didn't see your text right away,'" Barker explained. "Just resolving anything so you don't go to bed not feeling connected is really important."
The 50-year-old added that giving each other ****** e when necessary also matters, making the approach less about avoiding conflict than addressing it before resentment builds.

Liverpool could yet see two notable departures before the window shuts, with Caught Offside reporting that Curtis Jones is wanted by Inter Milan and Cody Gakpo is moving closer to Tottenham Hotspur. For Andoni Iraola, this is quickly becoming a key part of his summer rebuild.
Jones has entered the final year of his deal, and that fact naturally sharpens the discussion. According to the report, Inter have made him "a priority target" and "believe a deal can be reached for around €35 million." Liverpool are said to have wanted nearer €40m, but the wider context matters. If there is no extension, the club risk losing leverage as the season progresses.
The report adds that Jones is open to Italy, while his recent absences have fuelled talk around his future. It is understood, however, that those omissions were linked to "a hip problem and fitness management rather than simply protecting him for a transfer." That distinction is important, because it suggests a football decision has not yet fully been made.
Gakpo's situation feels more advanced. It is claimed that he has "reached an agreement in principle with Tottenham", with Liverpool seeking "more than £60m" and sources valuing him at around £70m. Unlike Jones, Liverpool are under no pressure on contract. Gakpo is tied down until 2030, which means any deal would need to suit the club's terms.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: It's preseason!
We are back! Sort of. The Eagles' preseason opener was hardly an inspiring return to watching the Eagles. I am not interested in using a preseason game featuring almost no established starters to make sweeping declarations about Sean Mannion. The Eagles have repeatedly demonstrated that they are happy to sacrifice preseason entertainment to protect important players and conceal the more meaningful parts of the playbook. Whether you agree with that approach or not, this organization does not treat these games as rehearsals for its actual offense.
There were still some early indications of Mannion's influence, particularly in the running game. As part of the run-game data we are tracking for our Patreon this season, I charted six Outside Zone runs and three Duo runs. That is not a large enough sample to declare that the Eagles have transformed their offensive identity, but the emphasis was noticeable. The structure of the running game was more interesting than the results, especially when you add in more under center runs.
The other important piece of context is that Baltimore's defense was not nearly as vanilla as the Eagles' offense. Jesse Minter called several creative pressures and tested the communication and protection rules of an inexperienced offensive line. By comparison, the Eagles kept everything extremely basic.
The opening clip summarizes much of the first-team offense. The Eagles used Grant Calcaterra and Eli Stowers together, but neither currently looks capable of giving them the blocking they would need from a legitimate two-tight-end package. Calcaterra is fortunate not to be penalized here, while Stowers' usage throughout the game was strange. We repeatedly asked a player drafted primarily for his receiving ability to perform difficult ****** ignments as an attached blocker.

The most unique ballpark innovation in Major League Baseball this season was conceived through something many millions of people do every day: Doomscrolling on Instagram
Last October, Malcolm Rogel, the Seattle Mariners' vice president of fan experience, started seeing videos of Florence, Italy's historic buchetta del vino — wine windows carved out of holes in the wall that originated in the 16th and 17th century. Knock on an ancient set of tiny, non-descript wooden doors during operating hours, and get sold a libation in one of the most unique ways possible. Rogel texted Megan Murray, the district manager at Sodexo Live, which operates concessions at the Mariners' T-Mobile Park, and asked if this concept could be replicated at the stadium.
Over the cold, rainy offseason, Rogel and Murray went to work on bringing this idea to life. Rogel's father-in-law built a wooden door in the shape of home plate. His close friend's son welded a door knocker in the shape of the Mariners' classic trident logo. Murray toured the ballpark with Seattle's liquor control board to get approval for the concept and the location of the door, which opens up to sinks and closets in the back and counter ***** e with enough room for up to seven staffers to safely work within the location's tight confines.
On opening day, the Mariners' Sea-cret Door was born as a speakeasy selling one specialty ***** tail per game, with the concept spread strictly through social media influencers and word of mouth. There's been no team advertising and no mention of the door on radio or TV broadcasts all season — the door's location purposefully kept secret to create a sort of scavenger hunt for fans searching for it at the park.
While it took until the seventh inning of the first game for the drink special to sell out its roughly 100 orders, now the offering is bought up within the first hour or so, with a full queue forming in about 12-15 minutes. Yet Rogel and Murray decided early on that the door wouldn't be open every game, and would probably only operate during about 30 of the team's 81 home games. And when the door isn't open, the M's bolt a storage bin in front of the wall to preserve its location and identity.
