Real American Freestyle announced on Thursday that past UFC middleweight ***** leholder Khamzat Chimaev is set to make his second appearance with the promotion to face former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in the main event of RAF Moscow. The event takes place Sept. 5 on streams exclusively on FOX Nation in the U.S., while other global broadcast details will be announced.
Chimaev had a successful RAF debut with a first-round pinfall win against Dillon Danis in the main event of RAF 10 in June. The match was heated as Danis appeared to attempt a choke on Chimaev after a takedown, and the aftermath led to an all-out brawl between the two teams. In a recent interview with RAF co-founder Chad Bronstein, he told MMA Fighting that Chimaev is expected to compete multiple times for the promotion before the year ends.
Woodley is already slated to compete at RAF 12 in August against Joaquin Buckley. "The Chosen One" seeks his first combat sports win in nearly eight years as he dropped his final four UFC bouts before heading over to the boxing world for a trio of fights — losing twice to Jake Paul, including a brutal knockout loss in their second meeting, and a TKO loss to Anderson Silva in his most recent contest this past December on the Paul vs. Joshua card.

After they had over a month off, the Miami Dolphins were back on the practice field on Wednesday for their first training camp session at their Baptist Health Training Complex under new head coach Jeff Hafley.
With this being Day 1, the Dolphins weren't in pads, which limited the physicality of the session, but there were still some players who brought the energy.
Among them, was linebacker Willie Gay Jr., who was reportedly one of the best players on the field. He was also mic'd up by Miami's social team, and they released a cut-up of his best moments during practice.
It's not a training camp session without a Gay scream at the beginning of the work. It was also great to see his one-handed interception of quarterback Cam Miller.
Gay is fighting for a spot in the linebacker room, and if he continues to stack days like that one, he'll make the roster and could push for more playing time than he had in 2025.

It's always interesting to see what Notre Dame football players do after their playing careers are over, and for one former running back, it's teaching the profession to high school athletes.
Tony Jones Jr. played a big role during his time in South Bend from 2016-2019, scoring 12 touchdowns while rushing for 1,481-yards with 273-yards receiving and two more scores. He'd go undrafted but played parts of seasons with five teams from 2020 through 2024, then played in the UFL and CFL earlier this year.
Jones didn't waste any time starting his new career, as it was announced earlier this week that he will be coaching the running backs for his high school alma mater, the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons. It will be quite the homecoming for him, as he returns to his former stomping grounds to help the young players learn what he has.
There is no doubt in my mind that Jones will do a great job, and hopefully moves up the coaching ranks quickly. At just 28-years old, he'll be at a fantastic place to start coaching.

Anthony Smith has been released from Sarpy County Jail in Nebraska.
The former UFC light heavyweight ****** le challenger, who later transitioned to the role of ****** yst for UFC broadcasts, was arrested last Monday night (July 27, 2026) on felony charges of Attempted First Degree Domestic ****** ault, Terroristic Threats, and First Degree False Imprisonment.
Smith appeared before the judge on Wednesday morning and released on $500,000 bond.
That's according to a report from MMA Fighting, though Smith's arrest affidavit remains sealed. All we know at this stage is that "Lionheart" is facing serious allegations and will return to court at some point in the near future. Neither Smith nor UFC have issued a statement at the time of this writing.
Smith, who turned 38 just a few days back, retired from UFC in early 2025 but returned to action for Jorge Masvidal's Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA in April, securing a submission victory over fellow UFC export Chase Sherman. If convicted, Smith (39-22) could be facing up to 20 years in prison.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had their first training camp practice with new running back Chris Rodriguez in attendance, though head coach Liam Coen said it offered only a small glimpse into what Rodriguez can offer.
Rodriguez missed much of Jacksonville's offseason program while recovering from surgery on a foot injury, delaying his opportunity to begin fighting for a role in the backfield.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles at American forces in the Middle East on Tuesday, shattering a brief pause in fighting as mediators tried to get both sides back to negotiations and toward a ceasefire, the U.S. military said.
All Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted, the U.S. Central Command said in a statement, adding that U.S. forces "remain vigilant and at a high state of readiness."
The United States and Iran had experienced a period of calm, during which neither announced attacks for days following weeks of escalation over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf waterway and narrow chokepoint through which 20% of the world's oil normally flows.
There was no immediate comment from Tehran on the U.S. military statement or the strikes.
Iran effectively closed the strait when the war began by firing at freighters and tankers off its coast or threatening them. Following the signing of an interim ceasefire deal in June, a battle for control over the strait erupted.

A few talking points on the starting lineup. The big news was a first start for Hayden Hackney. The other talking point for the team was the absence of Jarrad Branthwaite. It was reported that this was as part of his planned reintegration into the squad. Tyler Dibling and Mykolenko return and Jake O'Brien started on the bench. David Moyes was starting with his favourite 4-2-3-1 with Beto up top.
A lovely night in Stoke with Everton in their all blue kits. Everton were immediately on the front foot and a nice bit of interplay only broke down when Dewsbury-Hall ****** ed a ball into the box and it was easily handled by the Stoke keeper. Interestingly, it looked like Dibling was playing at right ack with Hackney in front of him.
An early corner was recycled by the Blues and when it fell to George, he laced a shot just narrowly wide of the post. A very good start from the boys in blue. Stoke tried to slow the game down and get on the ball but Everton were pressing high. When George intercepted a pass, his pass was slightly overhit for Dibling.
Everton went off the boil and some lax defending by Tarkowski allowed Gallagher in on Travers but a great leg save denied the home team. It was then Everton's turn to hold onto the ball. It was all a little scrappy. Beto did some fighting for the ball in the middle of the park with no end product. A nice ove down the right side saw Rohl deliver a nice cross but no one was there when the keeper spilled the ball.
The interplay on the left side between KDH and George was really good. However, Travers was the saviour again as Thomas drilled another shot on the goal. Everton were then hanging on as Stoke delivered cross after cross.

The New York Giants have a fighting chance to overtake their NFC East foes and win the division crown next season.
CBS Sports' John Breech ranked the Giants No. 3 overall in his ***** sment of each team that finished with the worst record in its respective division last season and its chances of going from worst to first in 2026.
If the Giants are going to have any chance of winning the division, they're going to need Jaxson Dart to take a huge step forward and he's going to have to do it while learning a new playbook that's being implemented by new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. Bringing in Nagy certainly feels like a boom or bust decision: It could end up working out or it could end up derailing the season.
Of course, even if the offense is bad, the Giants could still contend, and that's because they have a scary defensive front. This is a team that could win games 13-10 if that's what they're forced to do.
The NFC East is strong. The Philadelphia Eagles are the reigning division champions. Despite losing A.J. Brown in a trade this offseason, they still possess the talent to finish well above .500, though a dip in the win column may occur after their 11-6 mark in 2025.

As Justin Baldoni's production company is deadlocked with Blake Lively over legal fees, another legal battle is coming to an end.
Wayfarer Studios, which Baldoni cofounded with investor Steve Sarowitz, has been ordered to pay the legal fees that The New York Times incurred in fighting a 2024 defamation lawsuit from the "It Ends with Us" studio.
In a July 27 order from New York Supreme Court Justice Gerald Lebovits, which was reviewed by USA TODAY, The New York Times Co. was determined to be entitled to $171,616.20 in damages. The company was seeking $181,622.70 in fees billed by outside counsel and its in-house legal team, but Lebovits did not agree that some fees were warranted.
The Times had sought attorney fees under New York's anti-Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation law after the claims against the newspaper in Wayfarer's federal lawsuit were dismissed in June 2025.

Many expected the Dodgers to be facing the Mariners in the World Series last season, but Seattle couldn't close the deal against the Blue Jays. Now, a year later, they're an inferior team, but one still fighting to enter the postseason. The M's will go with the veteran Luis Castillo for the opening game of this series; potentially good news for a Dodgers offense that scored more than four runs only once in its last five games, making the pitching do the heavy lifting in the road trip's last stop at Citi Field.
A symbol of stability for this young Mariners staff ever since his acquisition back at the deadline in 2022, Castillo has a 3-9 record this season, which is a direct indicator of career-low numbers almost across the board. Lately, though, Castillo has had problems keeping the ball in the yard, allowing five home runs in his last two outings, the losing pitcher of record in each of his three outings this month. Although that 4.85 ERA this season justifies a lousy record, it is also a byproduct of the Mariners' complete inability to provide him any run support, scoring just 19 runs in his last eight starts.
Back to the home runs and how they might come into play, the one Dodger to actually leave the yard against the Mets, Kyle Tucker, is also one of the two who has gone deep against Castillo before. The two home runs in Citi Field were encouraging, but even in this recent stretch, Tucker needs to show more to come close to the player the Dodgers thought they were getting. Hitting at home hasn't been an enjoyable task for Tucker with a .607 OPS at Dodger Stadium.
One player who has definitely enjoyed performing at Dodger Stadium, though, is Justin Wrobleski. The Dodgers' starter has managed to keep an ERA below 3.00 both at home and on the road, but his .461 OPS allowed in seven starts at home genuinely sounds made up. Monitoring how he does with an increased workload in the second half is a priority for the Dodgers.

Sri Lanka Women produced a remarkable comeback to clinch their first bilateral ODI series victory over Pakistan Women in 24 years, sealing a 2-1 triumph with a dominant eight-wicket win in the series decider at Hambantota on Tuesday. Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali steadied the innings with a 68-run partnership, but Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu broke the stand by dismissing Feroza for 40.

Pakistan's middle order failed to capitalise as another collapse followed. From 110/4, the visitors slipped to 146/7 before captain Fatima Sana played a fighting knock of 41 to lift her side to 187 all out in 40 overs. Athapaththu and Kavisha Dilhari starred with the ball, claiming three wickets each to keep Pakistan below the 200-run mark.
Needing 188 for victory, Sri Lanka lost Vishmi Gunaratne early after she had helped provide another positive start. Captain Chamari Athapaththu quickly seized control, attacking Pakistan's bowlers with trademark aggression. The Minnesota Vikings locked up one of their longest-tenured players on Tuesday, agreeing to an extension with right tackle Brian O'Neill, per Adam Schefter. According to Schefter, the deal is four years, $96 million, keeping O'Neill in purple through the 2030 season.

US tech stocks regained their footing on Tuesday as a sell-off in chip stocks underscored concerns about AI circular financing deals, countering a drop in oil prices and earnings optimism.
The Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) bounced back from earlier losses to hover near the flat line. The S&P 500 (^GSPC) rose nearly 0.4%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) climbed 1.2% as investors weighed the latest quarterly results.
Stocks generally moved higher as the earnings deluge continued. Boeing (BA), Ford (F), PayPal (PYPL), and Coca-Cola (KO) all rose after reporting results, with Coca-Cola stock on track for its best day since 2009. Investors will be watching SK Hynix's results due around 8 p.m. ET for insight into the memory trade as AI worries swirl.
That helped offset souring sentiment in the chip sector amid reports that Nvidia (NVDA) is exploring a $250 billion funding backstop for OpenAI (OPAI.PVT), further intertwining the two companies and heightening worries about circular financing. Tech traders also grew nervous that Chinese competition is narrowing the AI gap with US companies, undermining prospects for a payoff.
Oil prices, meanwhile, continued to retreat after the US and Iran halted active fighting and President Trump said the two sides were in diplomatic talks. "There's a good chance that something could happen, and if it does, good," Trump said aboard Air Force One on Monday. "If it doesn't, we go back to doing what we were doing."

"I think this is going to be a really stressful fight for Ian Garry," Weidman said on "Deep Waters." "I don't think he's going to be as comfortable because he's going to be sh*tting his pants about the takedown because he sees how good Islam is on the ground, and Islam is going to throw hard on the feet, too."
Machado Garry has been criticized for his fighting style, which Weidman believes will benefit him against Makhachev.
"The best thing that he's got going for him is that he's not afraid to have a boring fight," Weidman said of Machado Garry. "He's not afraid to use footwork, run non-stop. He has no problem running from you the whole ****** time."

Fighting across the oil-producing world is catching up with energy markets, which could soon be choked off by multiple choke points and shortages.
Over the weekend, the U.S. and Iran have paused their attacks on each other in the Persian Gulf while they engage in diplomacy. Iran and Oman are also in separate talks to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
But the U.S. and Iran's neighbors are unlikely to accept any deal that recognizes Tehran's control over the narrow waterway. Meanwhile, Iran-backed Houthi rebels are threatening ships in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which Saudi Arabia has relied on to export its oil and bypass the Strait of Hormuz.
Ships can get around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait by using the Suez Canal to enter or exit the Red Sea, but the canal can't accommodate the largest oil tankers. There's also a risk that Iran could try to strike the Suez Canal, too.
"So we are starting to talk about the kind of 'no way out' scenarios because of this new Red Sea unrest," Helima Croft, head of global commodity strategy at RBC Capital Markets, told CNBC on Thursday.
