On Wednesday, OpenAI (OPAI.PVT) revealed six new examples of its AI models displaying "unexpected or concerning model behavior" during testing and evaluation.
The company made the announcement alongside a new framework for "tracking, reporting, and disclosing" instances where AI models take actions they otherwise aren't told to or shouldn't.
It follows a number of reports of AI models from companies hacking into third-party networks and services, including an unreleased OpenAI model breaking into the network of AI model and testing site Hugging Face.
Earlier this week, Anthropic (ANTH.PVT) CEO Dario Amodei penned a lengthy essay calling for a slowdown in the pace of the development of frontier AI models, after Anthropic researcher Jacob ******* on posted on X that he was resigning from the company because it, and his former employer OpenAI, is "racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives."
Anthropic alignment science lead Evan Hubinger followed up on ******* on's comments with his own post on X saying that he believes there is a greater-than-10% chance that the technology could "kill all humans."

Grab Holdings (NASDAQ:GRAB), a super-app for ride-hailing, deliveries, and digital financial services, closed at $2.87, down 1.37%. The stock moved after Grab announced a $1.49 billion cash deal for a 60% stake in Atome Financial. Investors are watching the financial services expansion and consumer lending reach looking ahead. Trading volume reached 82.1M shares, coming in about 72% above its three-month average of 47.6M shares. Grab Holdings IPO'd in 2020 and has fallen 76% since going public.
The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) fell 0.43% to 7,553, and the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) slipped 0.01% to 25,978. Among ride-hailing, delivery, and consumer fintech platforms, Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) closed at $71.01, down 0.59%, while Lyft (NASDAQ:LYFT) finished at $15.69, unchanged, as mobility peers remained in focus.
Grab, the Southeast Asian delivery, mobility, and financial services upstart, continues to show it intends to become the leading "superapp" in its niche after acquiring 60% of Atome Financial for $1.49 billion today. Prior to the deal, Grab held over $6 billion in cash versus minimal debt, so the deal shouldn't be a funding problem by any means.
Atome Financial operates in five of Grab's six markets and brings over 25 million unique transacting users, helping to beef up the latter's fintech offerings. Atome has seen its gross merchandise volume grow ninefold over the last six years and is profitable on an adjusted EBITDA basis.
As of 2024, merely 5% of Southeast Asian adults owned a credit card and only 14% had borrowed from a financial institution, so the potential here for Grab could be massive if they execute successfully upon this opportunity.

All eyes will be on the September Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. Unless there is extraordinary news, like collapsing crude oil prices, I am fully expecting a key Fed interest rate hike.
The Fed never fights market rates. Since market rates have risen globally due to higher energy prices, and after the ECB hike, more central banks are expected to follow and raise key interest rates.
The big news is expected to be the FOMC statement that may signal whether or not the Fed is "one and done" or signal that more key interest rate hikes will be forthcoming. Under new Fed Chairman Warsh, the Fed may not provide good guidance, since Warsh wants Wall Street to take its cue from market rates.

The good news is that with a hike already baked into the cake, there shouldn't be a negative market reaction on September 16. In other words, don't fear the reaper because even if interest rates rise and market volatility increases, fundamentally superior stocks continue to outperform. With the news that Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Landon ******* erson was being placed on IR with a knee injury, ******* erson himself seemed fine with the development — especially since, in the guard's view, he had no business being on the field in Week 1.
In an interview on Philadelphia's 94 WIP radio, which took place very shortly after the IR news landed, ******* erson offered a blunt ******* sment of his play in the Eagles' narrow 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
"Honestly, (to) address the elephant in the room, I played like sh** yesterday," ******* erson said. "I was a complete liability yesterday and, again, that was my fault … I shouldn't be out there until I feel healthy."
Dickerson said that he got "rolled up on" in practice last month during training camp, but continued to push through the injury. Imaging on Monday confirmed that he had a bone bruise in his right knee.

That streak won't continue in the pros.
Entering a short week, Detroit held a walk-through on Monday, Sept. 14, and released an estimated report that ruled Miller (knee) out of practice.
Lions coach Dan Campbell said Miller's injury shouldn't be a major concern long-term, but the tight turnaround for Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Bills could make it difficult for him to return in time for the next game.
"Because it's a short week, and it's really about how fast can we — some of this is the recovery. What does he look like tomorrow?" Campbell said. "It's always, man, the day after a game, especially the first game of the year, it's like, where are these guys at? It's really tough to say. We're going to know a lot more tomorrow. I mean, we really will."

The Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off the 2026 NFL season with a victory over the Atlanta Falcons at home, 20-13. The close score is a reminder that any team can be beaten and shouldn't overlook any potential opponent. The Falcons started Cooper Rush at quarterback and gave the Steelers everything they could handle. The offense has things to clean up, but the Steelers' defense was on full display, including a massive performance from T.J. Watt.
Watt finished his season debut with four pressures, two sacks, two hurries, two tackles, and four defensive stops. PFF awarded Watt a 92.3 defensive grade, 81.4 run defense grade, 73.9 tackling grade, and a 90.8 pass rushing grade. Did I mention the pick-six? I didn't? Well, that's important too, since it was the deciding factor on Sunday.
Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen spoke to the media after the game and doesn't understand the criticisms tossed at Watt.
"I saw how they talk about him online," Queen said. "It's crazy how a guy can be dominant for so long, and then one year he gets hurt … and everybody tries to turn the page on him."
Queen isn't wrong. The hoopla of Myles Garrett being traded to the Los Angeles Rams following his record-breaking sack season and DPOY award has pushed Watt out of the conversation because of his injury in 2025. Sunday was a remarkable reminder that with Watt leading the stingy Steelers defense, the EDGE rusher is as good as anyone on any given Sunday.

Kansas City, Missouri — Vice President JD Vance announced Monday the Trump administration will suspend roughly 870,000 people suspected of defrauding pandemic-era small business programs from receiving future federal loans.
The vice president contended that borrowers who stole taxpayer money should no longer be eligible to receive loans from government-backed programs.
"If you screwed the American taxpayer, the federal government is now going to say you're cut off, no more," Vance told reporters. "You shouldn't be applying anymore, and if you do apply, you're no longer able to get those benefits."
His remarks came as the Justice Department announced a slew of cases in a nationwide crackdown on fraud involving the COVID-19-era Paycheck Protection Program.
The department's enforcement push, which ran from June 12 through Sept. 1 and was dubbed "Heartland fraud surge," resulted in actions involving more than 160 defendants and approximately $245 million in intended losses to taxpayers. The operation was put into action more than five years after the government pushed emergency loans to businesses nationwide that were struggling as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The opener for Oregon Football at Autzen Stadium was an interesting one, as an electric go-ahead touchdown from Moore to Moore sealed the deal late in the game.
Many felt it shouldn't have come down to that, and they have a point.
Now granted, Boise State has been and is a dog of a program, a total workhorse. You're not going to catch the Broncos sleeping, as Oregon knows only too well.
That being said, the talent disparity is real. Boise, as determined as they may be, simply cannot match up with Oregon skill-wise position by position.
Knowing that, perhaps Oregon was a bit overconfident? They certainly didn't need to help the Broncos out as much as they did.

As the American justice department investigates the Los Angeles Clippers and its salary cap contravention deals involving Kawhi Leonard and several outside companies, there is no immediate concern it will scuttle an expected trade with the Raptors. It's been a long wait for this day to get here, but now we can finally turn the page to (I hope) more constructive play and move on from the UVA debacle. So what are we keeping our eyes on in the bigger picture tonight?
1.) Find at least the beginnings of an identity offensively. NC State's performance at Virginia was so bad as to look incoherent, and the offense wasn't on the field enough to develop a rhythm, much less discover its most important foundational aspects. Pretty much nothing worked, and what did—or could have—worked, often wasn't well-executed. The Pack has to take the opportunity presented by Richmond to start sorting itself out and establish concepts that work. Where's the bread and ***** er?
2.) To that end, who are the playmakers in this offense? We know that NC State would like to lean on Duke Scott and certainly he has better days ahead of him, but I'd like to see a more concerted effort to get Victor Snow the ball tonight. We learned next to nothing about the passing game in Week 0—well, nothing good, anyway—and still don't really know what we've got at receiver. It might end up essential for Snow to get 8-10 touches each week, and now's a good time to figure that out. I won't be surprised if Keenan Jackson is a focal point, either.
3.) What does this defense look like when it isn't in a bad position for 60 minutes? They were set up to fail by the offense in the first game, and Virginia never had to get out of its conservative comfort zone. Still the defense did some good things against actual handoffs, and needs to build on that. Richmond shouldn't have much of a downfield passing game to speak of, and I want to see how the defense performs against more regular passing downs.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are facing the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season, and while experts are widely expecting the Jaguars to walk away with an easy win, that doesn't mean Jacksonville shouldn't take this game seriously.
The Jaguars have been extremely underrated this offseason, despite their success last year, and ***** ysts had already all but decided Jacksonville will not only not win the AFC South again, but will miss the playoffs altogether.
While the Browns may not pose much of a challenge in Week 1, the stretch of games following it are much tougher, which makes it all the more important for the Jaguars to send a strong statement to open the season. Here are five keys to a Jacksonville victory in the game.
The Jaguars' run game is one of the biggest question marks going into 2026, but pushing the run game will be more important than just proving Jacksonville still has a good running back room without Travis Etienne. Cleveland's defense was better against the pass than the run, so the Jacksonville offense should avoid playing into the Browns' strength. Jared Verse is an elite pass rusher, and he and the secondary will almost certainly be gunning for Trevor Lawrence.
Establishing the new look backfield will keep the offense out of obvious passing situations, and prevent Cleveland's pass rush and secondary from dictating the game.

Liverpool still have a lot of work that needs to be done on their team.
The Anfield outfit's depth outside of their starting XI isn't the best with players such as Lewis Koumas and Trey Nyoni taking up prominent places in their squad.
Indeed, the fact that youngsters are being used as regular first-team players is obviously a breath of fresh air from Arne Slot's time in charge of the club but, for a team of Liverpool's calibre, they shouldn't have to be relying on players such as Koumas to play regular roles.
In the future, he could obviously come good and meet his potential but, at the moment, it's not ideal for the Reds to be using him week-in and week-out.
Obviously, some additions need to be made to Liverpool's attack before they're on the same level as some of their ***** le rivals but, there are also other areas among their ranks that could do with another upgrade or two.

Double Olympic Taekwondo champion Jade Jones is determined to prove that age will not hold her back as the 33-year-old prepares to box Hungarian MMA fighter Sheena Bathory on 12 September.
Welsh competitor Jones announced herself to the boxing world back in February with a second-round knockout against reality TV star Egypt Criss, before then dispatching Argentine influencer FederiKita in May to take her record to 2-0.
After her winning start, Jones, will now face her toughest test yet as she prepares to face Bathory for the Misfits super middleweight ***** le at Newcastle's Utilita Arena.
Since beginning her boxing career at 31-years-old, the fearless Jones hopes she can inspire others with her journey.

Jeff Klingelhofer, CFA, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager & Senior Research **** yst, Securitized **** ets at Aristotle Pacific didn't set out to be a bond guy but a launchpad at PIMCO, stops in Tokyo and London, and a Chicago MBA detour into a scrappy five-person hedge fund rewired how he thinks about fixed income. The internship stuck, with Klingelhofer building out Thornburg's taxable fixed income desk from employee #3 to Head of Investments, before joining Aristotle Pacific in 2024. The firm is a 15-year-old franchise (formerly Pacific **** et Management) now running roughly $16 billion and, as of July 30, three brand-new ETFs: the Aristotle Core Plus Income ETF (ARCP), the Aristotle Multi-Sector Income ETF (ARMS), and the Aristotle Short Term Income ETF (SDUR).
The pitch isn't about taking on more risk to boost returns but about capturing returns with minimal risk, and that means shopping across every fixed income silo instead of hunting inside one. Klingelhofer gives the example of February 2020, when American Airlines' corporate bond and its aircraft-backed EETC both priced at 3.75% with the same issuer, same tenor, same yield. A month later, COVID hit and the corporate bond cratered to 27 cents on the dollar while the EETC held at 65 cents. Same company, wildly different outcomes because Wall Street desks looked at each instrument in isolation instead of comparing across the capital stack. That's the whole Aristotle Pacific thesis, and it's why he sees the same mispricing setting up today in data center financing.
The three funds slot into that framework by risk level, with SDUR as a low-duration, active-credit alternative to cash, ARCP as a core-bond upgrade aiming to beat the Agg by 100-150bps, and ARMS as the full relative-value expression targeting 250bps over a cycle with real flexibility to shift credit quality. Macro-wise, Klingelhofer thinks the market is underestimating new Fed Chair Warsh, who, unlike his predecessor, inherits a purely high-inflation world with no disinflationary tailwind. It means the firm is positioning the funds slightly long duration as a hedge against credit risk elsewhere in the book. His closing advice to advisors was a cautionary and practical one, that they shouldn't expect Aristotle to work in every environment (no fund does), and to pair its bottom-up process with top-down managers like PIMCO so the two zig and zag differently throughout market cycles.

The Tennessee ****** ans start their 2026 NFL season at home when they host the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, at 12:00 p.m. CST on Sunday, September 13.
The ****** ans' preseason outings didn't show us very much. The starters played a minimal number of snaps while new head coach Robert Saleh and his new coordinators continued to evaluate players. Like every other NFL team, they trimmed their roster down to 53 players on August 30th and have made a few additional moves since then.
While there is an aura of cautious hope around this team, there is also a smidge of, "Is this really going to work?" The consensus among experts right now keeps the ****** ans near the bottom of the power rankings, and only their play on the field and ability to win games will see them move up.
As we enter Week 1, here's a look at where the ****** ans place in a multitude of power rankings.
They're counting on a young offense led by second-year QB Cam Ward to take a major step. They're counting on a defense infused with expensive free agent upgrades to take a major step. And they're counting heavily on Saleh to make it all work. Yet the preseason suggested they shouldn't necessarily count on instant results in 2026.

Hello everyone, and welcome back for another week of rankings in the UFC. This weekend was another great card for the UFC, in which we saw Salahdine Parnasse knock out Dan Hooker in under three minutes in the first round.
The next event for the UFC is UFC Fight Night 288 in Glendale, AZ, which features Jean Silva versus Jose Delgado as the main event for NOCHE. This match shouldn't last long, and that sucks for anyone who loves watching both of these fighters.

It's been a busy last twelve months for Craig Carton. Following the cancellation of his FS1 program, Breakfast Ball, in July, many speculated about where Carton's path would lead after his network television debut. The results of that journey to today shouldn't be surprising.
First, Carton remained a partner with FOX and worked with Red Seat Ventures to develop a one-hour daily program **** led The Craig Carton Show. His return to WFAN followed, with the official announcement coming in early December. Earlier this year, Carton added another layer to his growing media presence by teaming with Lil Wayne for The Joint Venture podcast. Beginning today, Carton elevates that initial project by bringing The Craig Carton Show to a rebranded and growing OutKick digital platform.
"I have been a frequent guest on OutKick as well as FOX News. So, there's some familiarity that I have with them, and they have with me," said Carton about the early discussions surrounding bringing The Craig Carton Show to OutKick. "I was a guest with Dan [Dakich] about six months ago. Afterwards, they reached out and inquired about my deal with FOX expiring. The interest was mutual."
With Carton's FOX contract coming to an end earlier this summer, the network made an offer to keep him in tow along with The Craig Carton Show podcast. However, the network allowed Carton to retain the podcast and shop it around to other distributors outside of his prior arrangement with SportsGrid.
"I had the ability to go look for other partners, but they [OutKick] had an interest in me. It sort of came together at the same time. I have great respect for FOX as a company. They've been great to me on the sports side. Then to take that and evolve our relationship under the FOX News umbrella was a no-brainer," explained Carton, who co-owns the IP for The Craig Carton Show with FOX. "We're partners in every sense of the word."
