Semiconductor giant Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has been a hot stock for some time now -- for good reason. It has averaged annualized gains of 52% over the past 15 years. That was enough to turn a single $10,000 investment 15 years ago into a stake worth $5.9 million (with dividends reinvested) or $5.4 million (without the reinvestment of dividends).
What if you buy into it today, though? How big could your stake in it become by, say, 2030? Let's take a look.
Missed AI's "Act 1"? Act 2 Could Be 15x Bigger. Most investors think they missed the AI boat because they didn't buy Nvidia in 2005. But according to our ******* ysts, we're only at the end of "Act 1"—the R&D phase. "Act 2" is the global rollout. Continue »
Let's start with a caveat: Whatever estimate we come up with will be just that -- an estimate. It will be based on the stock's growth rate -- which over the past three years has averaged nearly 70% per year! Over the past one year, it has gained nearly 20%. (That 20% might seem puny, but remember that over many decades, the stock market has averaged annual gains of close to 10%. So a 20% gain is still pretty good.)
But how quickly will Nvidia grow over the coming four years? Well, let's pick a number between that 20% and the longer-term rate of 52%. Let's say 30%.

Bunker fuel prices for ships remain at historically elevated levels, keeping pressure on vessel operating costs even as the marine-fuel supply squeeze that followed disruption around the Strait of Hormuz has eased at major fueling hubs.
In Singapore, the world's largest bunkering center, very-low-sulphur fuel oil, or VLSFO, was ******* sed at about $908 per metric ton this week, while marine gasoil (MGO) stood at $1,448 per ton and high-sulphur fuel oil at roughly $770 per ton, according to ******* yst Ship & Bunker.
At Rotterdam, Europe's busiest port, VLSFO was about $731 per ton, compared with $804 per ton in Houston and $1,005 per ton in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
The premium at Fujairah, the Middle East's principal bunker hub, shows the continuing impact of constrained traffic and supply-chain disruption in and around the Strait of Hormuz. Bunkering activity at Fujairah has recovered to about 40% of its prewar level, according to industry comments reported from the Asia Pacific Petroleum Conference, but remains well below normal.

October WTI crude oil (CLV26) is up +3.30 (+3.25%) on Monday, and October RBOB gasoline (RBV26) is up +0.1164 (+3.51%).
Crude oil and gasoline prices are sharply higher today, with crude just below Monday's 3.75-month high. Supply risks are underpinning crude oil prices as crude exports from the Middle East remain limited, tightening global supplies.

Google search on your laptop. YouTube on your TV. Chrome on your phone. It often feels -- and probably accurately so -- like tech giant Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) and its products are everywhere. Expect that feeling to get even more common in the age of AI.

Anthropic, the company behind the Claude artificial intelligence (AI) models, plans to publish its initial public offering (IPO) prospectus after Monday's Labor Day holiday, The Information reported late last month. A listing may follow as soon as late September or in October. Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) shareholders have a more specific reason than most to open the document when it lands.
On April 20, Anthropic committed to spend "more than $100 billion over the next ten years" with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon's cloud computing segment. That promise is equal to about a fifth of AWS's backlog of contracted work, which reached about $496 billion in June.

On August 3, Alexandria Real Estate Equities (NYSE:ARE) reported a Q2 2026 net loss of $0.43 per diluted share, narrower than the $0.64 loss posted a year earlier, while first-half net income swung to $1.68 per share from a loss of $0.71 in H1 2025. Funds from operations, the metric real estate investors watch most closely, moved the other way. Second-quarter FFO per share, as adjusted, fell to $1.73 from $2.33, and first-half FFO per share dropped to $3.46 from $4.63.
Leasing activity picked up meaningfully in the second quarter. Alexandria signed 1,038,917 rentable square feet of leases in Q2 2026, a 60% jump from the first quarter and roughly 87,000 square feet above its trailing quarterly average. Three-quarters of that leasing activity over the trailing twelve months came from existing tenants, and once executed leases with future occupancy are counted, total occupancy climbs to 90.9% from the reported 86.9%. Tenant quality remains a selling point too: 80% of annual rental revenue comes from the company's Megacampus platform, and 57% comes from investment-grade or publicly traded large-cap tenants, with 99.9% of second-quarter rents and receivables collected as of August 3.
The balance sheet backs that stability up. Alexandria holds $3.60 billion in liquidity and just extended its $5.0 billion unsecured line of credit to 2032 at a lower borrowing rate of SOFR plus 0.725%, down from SOFR plus 0.835%. Only 6% of total debt matures through 2028, and the company's 9.7-year weighted-average remaining debt term is the longest among S&P 500 REITs. General and administrative expenses fell 17.4% from Q2 2024, even after a year-over-year uptick, and the company maintained its $0.72 per share quarterly dividend, a 5.4% yield as of June 30.
The numbers behind the improved per-share figures are less reassuring on closer look. Same-property net operating income fell 10.6% in the second quarter and 11.5% for the first half, driven largely by occupancy declines tied to lease expirations. Operating occupancy slipped from 87.7% at the end of March to 86.9% at the end of June, and the current-period average occupancy of 87.1% compares with 92.6% a year earlier. Lease renewals aren't helping much either: rental rate changes on renewed and re-leased ******* e fell 0.7% in the second quarter and 15.0% in the first quarter, with cash-basis declines of 4.3% and 15.8%, respectively.
Leverage remains elevated in the near term. Net debt and preferred stock to Adjusted EBITDA stood at 7.0x on a Q2 2026 annualized basis, well above the company's 5.6x to 6.2x target for the fourth quarter, which depends on completing $2.9 billion in planned dispositions and other capital sources. General and administrative expenses rose 26.5% from Q2 2025 to $36.9 million. The company also recorded $222.5 million of real estate impairment charges in the quarter and continues to evaluate the business and financial strategy for five development and redevelopment projects totaling 1.4 m

Ondo Finance has filed three comment letters with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), arguing that existing U.S. regulations already have room for products built on blockchain technology, they just need to be applied differently.
The letters, published Sep. 2, cover three separate rulemaking areas: perpetual futures product definitions, portfolio margining, and market data reporting.
Each letter addresses a different rule, but the underlying argument is the same across all three: regulators should judge whether a system works, not whether it looks like the one it's replacing.

For years, U.S. stocks have been the default choice for investors – institutional or otherwise – and the center of global finance. And it's not hard to see why. The biggest names in AI are all in U.S. markets. Nvidia (NVDA), Microsoft (MSFT), Meta (META), Amazon (AMZN) - established names that are raking in billions of dollars during what arguably is the biggest technology boom in recent history.
But something is changing in the status quo. International emerging markets are receiving a larger share of new ETF investments worldwide. It's still smaller than what the U.S. is receiving, sure, but it's the kind of growth you can't ignore.

For economist Mohamed El-Erian, sky-high interest rates on U.S. bonds are the harbinger of an even greater affordability crisis.
"This is no ordinary bond-market sell-off," El-Erian announced in his latest opinion piece for The New York Times. The former PIMCO CEO argued that, if selling pressure on bonds continues, "it could mark the beginning of a structural economic shift more enduring and more globally consequential than most previous episodes of market volatility."

Free cash flow is negative while the cloud build runs, and that is the whole question for anyone weighing the stock today.
Two Multiples, Two Opposite Answers
Amazon.com (AMZN) trades at 22.6 times earnings against 23.9 for the S&P 500, the cheaper of the two on the line buyers check first, though that headline P/E is flattered by a wide gap between net income and operating income: LTM net income of $135.3 billion runs $41.6 billion above operating income, lifted by non-operating gains including Amazon's stake in Anthropic. Switch to cash, and the answer inverts: pricier at 18.7 times operating cash flow against 15.7 for the index, with free cash flow negative outright over the trailing twelve months.
The Cloud Build Is Why Free Cash Flow Is Negative
Management now expects about $220 billion of cash capital spending in 2026, up from an earlier estimate of roughly $200 billion because memory got more expensive. Most of it supports AI and AWS, and it splits two ways: data centers, which take about two years to open and then earn for 30-plus years, and servers and networking equipment, which the company says break even in a little under three years. Earnings already show the profit; the cash statement carries the bill. Buying the earnings multiple means buying that bill too.

It is hard to place a value on Archer Aviation (NYSE: ACHR) because it is a money-losing start-up. But the stock has fallen more than 60% from its 2025 highs and is now trading at about the same level as in 2021, shortly after coming public via a merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). Archer Aviation has come a long way since then, so you could easily argue the stock is cheap. But should you buy it?
The big story with Archer Aviation is its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. It already has a model, called Midnight, that it is testing. And it just introduced a variation on Midnight, called Thunder, that is intended for military and industrial use. The hope is that eVTOLs will revolutionize the aerospace industry.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
That's not a far-fetched idea, since aircraft like Midnight and Thunder can quickly transport people and other items over short distances. Think of an air taxi that allows people to fly over traffic congestion. Or, in the case of Thunder, an unmanned aircraft flying supplies to an oil rig in the middle of the ocean. These are real-world scenarios where Archer's eVTOL aircraft would be hugely valuable. If you can envision a world where Midnight and Thunder aircraft are zipping through the air, it might be cheap enough for you to buy.
There are some problems to consider before you buy that will likely keep all but the most aggressive growth investors on the sidelines. For starters, the company is losing money and will likely continue to do so for a while longer. That's because it is still working on getting its eVTOL approved for commercial use. And even though Thunder won't require the same regulatory approvals, it isn't ready for prime time just yet, either. After the company's eVTOL aircraft are approved, it will still have to spend significant sums to ramp up production.

The dollar index (DXY00) is down by -0.02% today. The dollar recovered from overnight losses and is little changed after crude oil prices surged more than +6% when President Trump said the US will "hit Iran hard" after a recent attack from Iran that targeted a US base in Jordan. The jump in crude prices raises inflation expectations and could prompt the Fed to tighten monetary policy, a supportive factor for the dollar. Movement in the dollar is limited ahead of the conclusion of the 2-day FOMC meeting later today when policymakers are expected to keep interest rates unchanged.
Crude oil prices jumped today after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted a US airbase and command center in Jordan with ballistic missiles. The IRGC also claimed to have hit and halted three tankers attempting to transit through the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the US and Saudi Arabia launched a joint attack on "Iran-aligned terrorists" in Iraq after the IRGC directed them to target US forces and Saudi energy infrastructure.
