WASHINGTON, Sept 17 (Reuters) - A federal judge ordered President Donald Trump's administration on Thursday to provide at least 30 days' notice before taking any steps to demolish the Kennedy Center, the landmark performing arts venue ‌that has become a flashpoint in his efforts to reshape the U.S. capital.
U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper issued the order after ‌lawyers for a Democratic congresswoman who is suing to keep the venue open and Trump's name off its facade submitted new evidence citing the Republican president's comments on Wednesday referring to demolishing the Kennedy Center.
"I think that the Trump administration should certainly have recognition. Because frankly, if we don't do that, it's going to close. It'll end up being ripped down," Trump told reporters in North Carolina, referring to putting his name on the facility established by Congress and opened in 1971 as a memorial to slain President John Kennedy.
Matt Floca, the Kennedy Center's Trump-backed executive director, said in a court filing earlier on Thursday that ‌the building was being temporarily closed to ****** s safety risks in areas "exhibiting severe structural deterioration."

On August 5, Kinetik Holdings Inc. (NYSE:KNTK) reported the strongest quarterly results in company history and raised its full-year 2026 guidance. The Permian-focused midstream operator posted net income, including noncontrolling interest, of $123.1 million for the quarter ended June 30, while Adjusted EBITDA climbed to $280.8 million. Management didn't stop at celebrating the number. It used the quarter as the launchpad for a string of expansion decisions that stretch out to 2028.
The Midstream Logistics segment, Kinetik's largest, grew Adjusted EBITDA 35% year over year to $204.8 million in the second quarter, even though processed natural gas volumes held flat at 1.74 Bcf/d. That flat number actually undersells the quarter. It came despite roughly 250 million cubic feet per day of gas that had been shut in because of weak Waha-area pricing, with stronger natural gas liquid recoveries, condensate yields, and favorable commodity spreads carrying the segment instead.
Management is betting the growth continues well past 2026. In May, Kinetik reached a final investment decision on Kings Landing II, a roughly $260 million project that will lift sour gas processing capacity across the company's Delaware North complex above 700 MMcf/d and push total system capacity to 2.7 Bcf/d when it comes online in mid-2028, earlier than previously communicated. The ECCC Pipeline, which links the system's northern and southern halves between Eddy and Culberson Counties, is now in service, and right-of-way work has already begun on a follow-on expansion for 2027.
Kinetik also locked in new firm Gulf Coast access for residue gas starting in 2027 and signed fresh natural gas liquids transport agreements, both aimed at getting better prices for the gas it moves. On the back of that momentum, Kinetik raised its full-year 2026 Adjusted EBITDA guidance to a range of $1.04 billion to $1.1 billion, a 7% ***** p from the guidance it issued in February.
Not every part of the business is moving in the same direction. The Pipeline Transportation segment posted Adjusted EBITDA of $83.0 million in the quarter, down 14% year over year, a decline the company attributes to last year's divestiture of its equity stake in EPIC Crude Holdings. That sale removed a source of cash flow the rest of the business now has to make up for. Kinetik also expects gas curtailments to keep running at an average of 25 million cubic feet per day through the second half of 2026, on top of the Waha-driven shut-ins that already weighed on the quarter. Its own pricing ***** umptions underline the regional problem: the company is now modeling Waha Hub natural gas at negative $0.26 per MMBtu for the full year, meaning gas in parts of the Permian is priced so low that moving it out of the basin is the whole game.

AI data centers are facing growing power constraints, and the issue is becoming increasingly urgent. New utility capacity can take years to develop and bring online, but hyperscalers cannot afford to wait that long to support their growing computing needs. That gap between supply and demand creates an opportunity for Bloom Energy (BE), which is focused on delivering power where and when hyperscalers like Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), and Alphabet (GOOG) (GOOGL) require it. The fundamentals are now starting to provide support for the growing optimism around its opportunity.
Bloom Energy's technology stands out because it can address the AI power challenge on a much shorter timeline. The company's solid-oxide fuel cells are manufactured in factories and can be moved where required. They can also be deployed much faster than traditional power infrastructure. Instead of waiting years for grid upgrades or additional turbine capacity, data center developers can install Bloom Energy's systems and bring power online in a much shorter timeframe. As AI infrastructure expands, that speed has helped the company establish itself as an increasingly important on-site power vendor. All major U.S. hyperscalers are also providing validation of its position.

Sept 16 (Reuters) - Surging government bond yields are raising credit costs across the U.S. economy and could factor into Federal Reserve monetary policy deliberations, but ***** ysts see the central bank resisting any explicit call from the Trump administration to bail out the market.
The focus on the Fed's possible involvement comes as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has taken an ‌unusually activist role in trying to tamp down rising yields he considers to be misaligned with the U.S. economic outlook.
Bessent's campaign, which saw the expansion of a key debt buyback operation last week, ‌is foundering, as the 10-year Treasury note rose above 5% to its highest since 2007. He shrugged the move off as owing to "global issues" on Tuesday as he arrived for a congressional hearing.
Treasury's bond market travails are raising questions whether the Fed might be requested to buy government debt to reduce supply, which could cap or lower yields, in turn easing government and private sector borrowing costs.

Britain's royal family has taken the unusual step of publicly challenging claims made by Princess Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, in his upcoming memoir.
Departing from the monarchy's traditional "never complain, never explain" approach, Buckingham Palace responded Wednesday to Spencer's recollection of a phone call between himself and King Charles, in the wake of Diana's death in 1997. According to Spencer, the call took place after Spencer objected to Prince William and Prince Harry, then 15 and 12, walking behind their mother's coffin at her funeral.
In an excerpt from the book Swan Song: Diana, My Sister published by Britain's Daily Mail, Spencer wrote, "He unleashed down the phone what I have always taken to be his pent-up contempt for Diana, and his horror that the world was so bowled over by her death. 'Rest ****** ured,' he hissed, 'we'll forget her soon enough.'"
While the palace didn't directly address whether the comment was made, the statement questioned the reliability of Spencer's recollection, saying, "While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and color memory in ways others do not recognize, even many years after such a loss."
The statement echoes the palace's reaction to claims made by Harry and Meghan Markle during their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey that an unnamed royal had made a remark about their son's skin color before he was born and that the monarchy failed to help a suicidal Meghan. A response issued on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II at that time said that "recollections may vary."

A public company typically has limited control over third-party financial products that reference its shares, but Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) and AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AMC) are now testing that notion in public, in one of the year's most intense corporate spats. The debate revolves over stock tokens and has evolved from a heated social media post on September 3 to a live televised retort by September 9.
Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) expanded its tokenized shares offering, which is issued through a unit named Robinhood ****** ets (Jersey) Limited and traded on Robinhood's proprietary blockchain, Robinhood Chain, to include over 190 public firms, including AMC, without the companies directly signing on. When AMC CEO Adam Aron discovered that his company was among them, he did not mince words. On September 3, Aron posted on X, calling the practice "contemptible, outrageous, disgusting, detestable, inexcusable, vile," questioning how it could possibly be legal, and stating that AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AMC) had no relation to the tokens and did not condone them.
He stated that the company would retain independent securities counsel and vowed to take the matter to the SEC, characterizing Robinhood's tokens as an unregistered securities product that undermines the regular relationship between a public company and its shareholders.
The market reaction was fast and telling: AMC shares rose as much as 21% in overnight trading after the public dispute broke out.
Robinhood did not back down. In the days that followed, the company's chief legal officer, Dan Gallagher, a former SEC commissioner, mocked the tone of Aron's complaint on social media, saying Robinhood "know[s] a little something about the US securities laws," and inviting AMC's lawyers to contact them. CEO Vlad Tenev originally commented on X with a brief "What's the concern?" before making his first extensive, broadcast comments on the controversy in a CNBC "Squawk Box" interview on September 9.

Getting denied for a credit card can be frustrating, but it doesn't necessarily mean you can't qualify for another card. Your first step should be figuring out why your application was rejected.
Credit card issuers can deny applications for many reasons, including your credit history, high balances, recent credit applications, income, or issuer-specific eligibility requirements. After a denial, review the reason the issuer provides before deciding what to do next.
If your credit card application is denied, the issuer must send you an adverse action notice explaining the reasons for the denial or how to request them.
Common reasons for credit card denials include credit history, high credit utilization, too many recent applications, insufficient income, and issuer-specific restrictions.

Yes, you can sometimes have two of the same credit card, but whether you're allowed to depends on the card issuer and the specific card. And even with issuers that allow you to have two of the same card, you're usually subject to limitations and restrictions.
Whether you can have two of the same credit card at one time depends on each credit card issuer's policies. Credit card issuers don't always make it clear that you can apply for the same card multiple times, so we reached out to several major credit card issuers. We asked them to clarify whether a customer could have two of the same card, and this is what we found:

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) and Valneva SE (NASDAQ:VALN) reported on August 14 that the European Medicines Agency has validated the Marketing Authorization Application for PF-07307405, the companies' experimental Lyme disease vaccine candidate, and will now begin the official review.
For a vaccine candidate first proposed in a 2020 collaboration deal between Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) and French biotech Valneva SE (NASDAQ:VALN), this represents the formal transition from years of clinical development into European regulatory review.
The application is based on the Phase 3 VALOR trial, a placebo-controlled, randomized study of 9,437 participants aged five and older from high-incidence Lyme disease locations in US, Canada, and Europe. Participants got four doses on a phased schedule: one at months 0, 2, and 5-9, followed by a fourth dosage around a year later, shortly before the start of the next Lyme season. Topline data released in March 2026 demonstrated efficacy of over 70% in reducing confirmed Lyme disease cases, with the vaccine generally tolerated and no safety issues detected. However, the statistical picture was less clean than the headline efficacy suggests. The first prespecified **** ysis, which served as the primary endpoint, showed 73.2% efficacy but failed the trial's predefined statistical criterion because the lower bound of the 95% confidence interval was 15.8%, below the required 20%. A second prespecified **** ysis showed 74.8% efficacy and did meet that threshold.
Valneva SE (NASDAQ:VALN), the smallest of the two partners, views the vaccine as a clean competitive setup. According to the company, PF-07307405 is the most advanced Lyme disease vaccine candidate currently in clinical development, a rare spot in the vaccine industry where new entrants often face competition from existing treatments. Under the terms of the 2020 partnership and license agreement, Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) will have exclusive rights to produce and commercialize the vaccine if it is approved, while Valneva SE (NASDAQ:VALN) will benefit as a development partner.
The institutional stance is very different between the two companies, reflecting their very different sizes. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) is still a strong name in the institutional **** e, with hedge fund ownership stable at 83 funds in the second quarter of 2026, the same as the first quarter, reflecting its position as a large, diversified pharmaceutical holding, rather than a name driven by a specific pipeline event. Valneva SE (NASDAQ:VALN), however, has little hedge fund exposure, with only 4 funds holding a position in the second quarter, up from 1 in the first quarter, reflecting the continued lack of visibility of the smaller partner among institutional investors.

"First Citizens BancShares, Inc. (NASDAQ:FCNCA), initiated in June, is a well-run company which we believe to be undervalued and with catalysts on the horizon. The company has retired almost 20% of its Class A shares since July 2024, and inside its roughly $25 billion market capitalization sits a rail leasing fleet of approximately 128,000 cars valued by the market at bank multiples. Management has proven themselves highly competent and highly aligned with shareholders, with the Holding family in key executive positions, owning over 20% of the economics and controlling roughly half the vote through their Class B shares. Much of what we are waiting on has a date attached to it: two separations have completed, and Masco and First Citizens are retiring shares at a pace that improves per-share value whether or not the multiples change."

One day after a dramatic meeting of the arts institution’s Board of Trustees, during which members – many of whom are allies of President Donald Trump – voted to close its doors, lights inside the Kennedy Center’s main building appeared to have been turned off.
The doors had been locked at 6 p.m. Tuesday night and bike racks were stacked up by entrances to block public access.
But officially closing the public monument would violate a court order requiring it remain open as a lawsuit brought by Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty continues.
On Wednesday, US District Court Judge Christopher Cooper, in response to an appeal for an emergency hearing filed by Beatty, ordered the Trump administration to answer questions over the status of the building by Thursday at 10 a.m ET.
Beatty issued the request after a member of her legal team was denied entry to the main building and “was informed by several security staff members that the building is currently closed to the public,” her attorneys said in a court filing.

The aerospace industry is evolving as Boeing (NYSE:BA) attempts a massive operational turnaround while Rocket Lab (NASDAQ:RKLB) rapidly expands its footprint across the global ******* e economy.
Boeing remains a dominant force in commercial aviation and defense, whereas Rocket Lab specializes in small-satellite launches and ******* ecraft components. Investors often compare them to decide between an established giant recovering from crisis and a high-growth challenger in the private ******* e sector.
Boeing operates as a massive player among defense stocks and commercial aviation leaders, manufacturing everything from the 737 Max to advanced military rotorcraft. The company generates revenue through commercial aircraft sales, defense contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense and NASA, and global services. Customer concentration like this adds a layer of risk to the business. In 2025, the company acquired Spirit AeroSystems to address long-standing quality issues, providing transition services to other buyers like Airbus (OTC:EADSF).
In FY 2025, revenue reached nearly $89.5 billion, representing a growth of roughly 34.5% over the previous year. The company reported a net income of approximately $2.2 billion, a significant recovery from the net loss of nearly $11.8 billion in FY 2024. This improvement in the net margin to 2.5% suggests the company is beginning to stabilize its bottom line after years of heavy losses.
As of its December 2025 balance sheet, Boeing carries a debt-to-equity ratio of nearly 10.0x, a measure comparing total debt to shareholder equity that indicates a heavy reliance on borrowing. The company reported a current ratio of nearly 1.2x, which measures a company's ability to cover its short-term debts with liquid ******* ets. Note that stock-based compensation represented roughly 40% of operating cash flow, which inflates reported cash generation since SBC is a non-cash expense added back in the cash flow statement. The company also generated a negative free cash flow of approximately $1.9 billion, representing operating cash minus spending on physical ******* ets.

Broyhill ******* et Management stated the following regarding First Citizens BancShares, Inc. (NASDAQ:FCNCA) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:

The news that the giant AI technology provider Anthropic launched Claude for Financial Advisors was received with some skepticism by industry **** ysts, but overall, many wealth management technology providers and consultants shared their excitement and enthusiasm, noting that the company had presented them with something that could, if implemented well, solve many issues with current advisor tech stacks.
"I find it positive that Anthropic has sent these signals to the market and it is good for the industry overall," said longtime **** yst Alois Pirker, who is now the CEO of his own consultancy, Pirker Partners.
"Nonetheless, my sense is that Claude will hit the same problem as Salesforce, getting to the level of specificity that financial advisors need," he said, referring to the behemoth CRM provider and its initial rollout of Salesforce for Financial Services, which reached general availability a decade ago (and later changed its name to Salesforce Financial Services Cloud).
One way in which the technology industry responded to advisors' desire for such specificity was the development of the specialized and popular advisor CRM product Practifi, he said, which is built on top of Salesforce and caters to certain types of firms in need of more customization.
