Will Arnett says unfiltered comments on SmartLess have sometimes led to misleading headlines
His podcast experience unexpectedly helped shape his role in the thriller Behemoth!
Arnett recorded rough podcast material for director Tony Gilroy, who used it in the finished film
Will Arnett has learned that when it comes to podcasting, sometimes less is more.
The actor, 56, who stars in the new thriller Behemoth!, has spent the past several years getting candid with cohosts Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes on their hit podcast SmartLess. But after years of chatting with everyone from Hollywood heavyweights to longtime friends, Arnett has picked up one particularly important lesson: He probably shouldn't say everything that crosses his mind.

George Clooney was a late bloomer in Hollywood who now frequently uses his platform as an industry icon to promote political and humanitarian causes close to his heart.
At 65, the megastar belongs to a rare caste of Hollywood actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise whose names have become globally famous.
His dark good looks, natural charm and on-screen charisma have also earned him frequent comparisons to 20th-century Hollywood giant Cary Grant.
"I think he's better at the job of being a movie star than anybody who has ever done it," Tony Gilroy, who directed him in 2007 thriller "Michael Clayton", once said about him.
Clooney "absolutely can't be reduced to just his looks and charm, which are indisputable," Alberto Barbera, artistic director of the Venice Film Festival, told AFP on Tuesday.

I'm sure you've seen the in-game ads for the Ballpark Bites Bracket, where one "signature" concession item from each ballpark is being pitted against others from both the Major and Minor Leagues for supremacy. From Coors Field, the Glizzilla is up against the Galactic Glizzy, offered by the Sugar Land ******* e Cowboys (Triple-A Astros).
Other bites featured are the Take Me Out to the Ballgame Shake from Chase Field (AZ), the Ferry Boat Crab Nachos from T-Mobile Park (SEA) and the Lobstah Poutine from Fenway (BOS). It does not, however, feature the Gilroy Garlic Fries from Oracle Park (SF), which is a shame.
So this brings me to three questions:
Of the choices on the bracket, which one(s) have you tried?
Of the choices on the bracket, which one is the winner?

Rush Order and Encore Fulfillment, third-party logistics providers specializing in e-commerce fulfillment, have expanded their footprint with new warehouses in the center of the United States.
Rush Order announced on LinkedIn that it will open its fourth U.S. fulfillment center in the Dallas-Forth Worth area on July 1. The company currently has 13 B2C fulfillment centers worldwide, including in Gilroy, California; Twinsburg, Ohio, New York; Toronto; the Netherlands; United Kingdom; Sydney, Australia and five locations in Asia.
The company said it will now be able to reach 93% of the U.S. population within two days via UPS Ground, with the remaining area able to receive deliveries in three days.
The Dallas-Forth Worth expansion is important because the center sits within a day’s drive by truck of major southern distribution centers for Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Best Buy, which allows for faster inventory replenishment and faster lead times to shoppers in the Great Plains and Southeast regions, according to Rush Order.
Meanwhile, Encore Fulfillment announced Wednesday that it has expanded into a 350,000-square foot facility in Oklahoma City, moving under one roof from an earlier location. The new location increases the company’s capacity to process orders at scale and serve more brands while maintaining high pick accuracy rates, it said
