On August 19, Lowe's Companies (NYSE:LOW) reported second-quarter sales of $26 billion, up 8.3% from a year earlier, even though comparable sales inched up just 0.2%. The headline number hides a split personality inside the business. Pro contractors, online shoppers and Do-It-For-Me customers kept spending, while everyday DIY homeowners pulled back hard enough that management trimmed its full-year guidance. That gap between who is still spending and who isn't is the real story in this quarter.
Pro sales grew again, and management credited small and medium-sized contractors responding to the company's digital planning tools and the MyLowe's Pro Rewards loyalty program, which lets Pros quote, plan, and manage jobs inside Lowe's own platform. Online sales jumped 15.7%, helped by expanded visualization tools and the Mylow AI agent, which has fielded more than 25 million customer and ******* ociate questions since launch.
Notably, CEO Marvin Ellison said the conversion rate for online shoppers who use Mylow runs triple that of shoppers who don't, a sign the tool is doing more than answering questions. Appliances delivered a seventh straight quarter of positive comparable sales, aided by next-day delivery in virtually every US ZIP code and a push into premium products like Traeger grills and a GE Profile refrigerator that scans groceries for an Instacart shopping list. Loyalty is compounding too: MyLowe's Rewards has crossed 30 million members who shop more often and spend more per visit than nonmembers, giving the company a growing base to sell that premium ******* ortment into even while the broader housing market stalls.
Comparable transactions fell 2.1% during the quarter, offset only by a 2.3% rise in average ticket, and management pinned the weakness on weather-sensitive and seasonal categories where DIY shoppers dominate. Executive Vice President Joe McFarland said Pro customers themselves are noticing it, describing homeowners who are "more cautious about their spending" and shifting toward smaller repair jobs instead of full remodels.
That caution pushed Lowe's to guide toward the bottom of its prior range, now targeting roughly $92 billion in sales and $12.25 in adjusted earnings per share for the full year. Margins felt it too. Adjusted operating margin slipped 62 basis points to 14%, and CFO Brandon Sink noted that an $80 million tariff refund benefit was largely wiped out by elevated fuel and transportation costs. The company's Foundation Building Materials and Artisan Design Group acquisitions add another layer of risk, since Sink flagged "softer-for-longer new home construction" pressuring demand in both segments. Inventory climbed to $17.7 billion, up $1.4 billion year over year, and adjusted debt to EBITDA sits at 3.0x against a 2.75x target management doesn't expect to hit until mid-2027. Third quarter earnings are guided to come in roughly 7% below last year's adjusted EPS.

On August 21, CNBC reported that according to notices published by Tesla and China's State Administration for Market Regulation, Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) is voluntarily recalling about 3 million vehicles in China over two separate issues: door handles that can fail to open after severe crashes and deficient driver "attention monitoring" systems.
The door handle flaw related to a low-voltage system failure after collisions is part of a broader industry action. It covers roughly 4.3 million vehicles across nine automakers, the largest such recall in China's history, Bloomberg reported.
Tesla's fix will use an over-the-air software update to automatically lower windows after a crash, plus warning labels, rather than a hardware redesign. The recall covers Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles built between 2019 and 2026.
Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA)'s remedy is cheap and fast compared with a typical hardware recall. The company is addressing the door handle issue with an over-the-air software update and physical warning labels rather than a parts replacement. It means most affected owners never need a service appointment. That keeps the direct cost and logistical burden of this recall far lower than recalls requiring in-person repairs.
Tesla was not singled out as uniquely unsafe. Eight other automakers in China also issued voluntary recalls to deal with door handle safety the same day, showing this is an industry-wide design and regulatory issue rather than a Tesla-specific failure. That context matters for how much reputational damage the recall actually does relative to competitors facing the same scrutiny.

Joe's $180 plumbing repair on his IRA-owned duplex could trigger a prohibited transaction, making the entire $600,000 account ordinary taxable income.
Federal rules bar IRA owners from personally performing any repair on IRA property, regardless of cost, with no dollar-based safe harbor.
A $600,000 deemed distribution would spike adjusted gross income, making 85% of Social Security benefits taxable and triggering higher Medicare premiums two years later.

Joe is a 68-year-old retiree in Arizona. Fifteen years ago, his self-directed traditional IRA bought a rental duplex. The account paid for the property, collected the rent and covered every expense. As home prices climbed, its value grew to roughly $600,000. Then a tenant called about a leaking water-heater valve. Joe drove over with a wrench and replaced it himself, saving about $180 on a plumber.

Greenlight Capital is an investment management firm specializing in value-oriented strategies. The letter can be downloaded here. Greenlight Capital released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, reporting a 4.3% decline for the Partnerships and a 1.9% year-to-date gain, net of fees and expenses, compared with gains of 15.2% and 10.2% for the S&P 500 Index. The funds entered the quarter conservatively, but costly trading decisions and macro positions, particularly in gold and U.S. interest rates, weighed on results. Long positions contributed roughly 9%, offset by similar losses from shorts. The letter also highlighted concerns over speculative market conditions, using **** eX's $1.75 trillion IPO valuation and investment-grade rating as examples of excess. Looking ahead, Greenlight is more constructive on Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh's inflation stance and expects positions to recover if inflation moderates and rates remain unchanged. Additionally, reviewing the Strategy's top holdings could help identify its best ideas for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Greenlight Capital highlighted Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. (NYSE:FBIN). Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. (NYSE:FBIN) provides home, security, and digital products for residential home repair, remodeling, new construction, and security applications in the United States and internationally. On August 26, 2026, Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. (NYSE:FBIN) closed at $46.31 per share. Over the past month, Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. (NYSE:FBIN) returned -7.33%, while its shares have declined 22.57% in the last 52 weeks. Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. (NYSE:FBIN) has a market capitalization of $5.44 billion, and its stock has traded within a 52-week range of $32.34 to $64.84.
Greenlight Capital stated the following regarding Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. (NYSE:FBIN) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. (NYSE:FBIN) is a building products company whose brands include Moen, Therma-Tru and Master Lock. Over the past several years, both a challenging housing market and poor execution by prior management led to share losses and profit erosion. Despite these challenges, we believe the company's brands remain strong and its competitive position is intact. In March, an activist investor joined the board, and in June the company appointed a new CEO with an exceptional track record of value creation in the building products industry. Even without a recovery in housing, we believe new leadership can address the operational issues and grow earnings substantially. While significant share recapture (or a strong housing recovery) would provide additional upside, if FBIN simply achieves the low end of prior management's mid-cycle margin targets on current revenue, it should support approximately $5 of earnings per share. We acquired our position at an average price of $39.37, or approximately 8x those earnings, while peers trade for almost 20x. FBIN shar

Prince Harry reportedly wants to work on his relationship with Kate Middleton. According to an insider, he seemingly would want to mend fences with his sister-in-law. It was said that Prince William "won't speak to him." Therefore, Harry might try to seek Middleton's help to make amends with his brother.
For those unversed, the Duke of Sussex has returned to the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle. They arrived on August 26 with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Prince Harry would reportedly like to repair his and Kate Middleton's relationship. They used to share a close, comfortable bond. But things turned sour after the Sussexes moved to California. Now, they have returned to the duke's homeland; therefore, Harry might want to make amends with his sister-in-law.
A source told the National Examiner that Harry would approach Middleton even if he had to do it behind his brother's back. He seems to believe that the Princess of Wales can help her mend fences with Prince William. "With everything that is going on, Harry feels he needs to have some sort of dialogue with his brother's camp, and since William won't speak to him, it just makes sense to go to Kate," they said.
Furthermore, the insider suggested that Harry thinks Middleton will need the "most straightforward path" to reach out to the royals. "He hates to put her in the middle, but he says he doesn't feel like he has any other choice because William is continuing to be so stubborn." According to them, the future queen seemed to be "more reasonable" than her husband.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle landed in the UK to reports of new neighbors branding them a "disgrace". The news comes as the Sussexes made their alleged return to Britain on Wednesday after six years away. However, the couple will continue as private citizens and will not be resuming official duties as working royals.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's move to the UK is already stirring up reactions among some of their potential new neighbours. According to several reports, the Duke and ***** ss of Sussex will put down roots in the beautiful Cotswolds. However, not everyone in the charming countryside community seems delighted at the idea of the royal pair moving in next door.
Several locals reportedly voiced their annoyance to the Daily Expresso after a reporter headed to the area to sound out reactions to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's UK return. Discussing it on the podcast on Wednesday, August 26, host JJ Anisiobi revealed that some residents were "already furious."
He said, "A woman in a coffee shop, who lives in the local area, says: 'They should be banned. They are a disgrace. I think Meghan is an awful, dreadful woman. It can't be easy being in the royal family- they've got their faults as well, but they're two-faced in screaming about privacy.'"
Anisiobi shared that another local felt that the Duke had damaged his relationships beyond repair. A different resident voiced a separate worry about how the Sussexes' presence might affect the area's well-known tranquillity.

Carlos Ulberg is disappointed he can't compete, but won't rush his recovery.
The UFC light heavyweight champion has been on the sidelines since winning the ***** le at UFC 327. Ulberg (14-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) tore his ACL in his victory over Jiri Prochazka, making for a bittersweet crowning moment.
After undergoing a successful surgery on his right knee, Ulberg has been focused on his recovery. He is currently aiming for a return to action in early 2027.
"It sucks to be on the sidelines watching the guys," Ulberg told reporters during a news conference in Shanghai, China, ahead of UFC Fight Night 286. "I'm still in the gym watching the guys and also doing my rehab. I'd much prefer to be in the gym, having a push and pull with the boys – but I'm a working man, and I'm doing everything to make sure that as the champion, I get myself back on the mats. I'm ready to get myself healthy again so that I can come and defend my ***** le early next year."
Right now, Ulberg wants to ensure this time on the sidelines is his only time out of the game. He doesn't want to rush back and risk re-injuring his surgically repaired knee, which would cause more problems for the light heavyweight ***** le picture.

Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW) delivered an earnings beat alongside weak organic growth and a reduced outlook. Second-quarter total sales increased approximately 8.3% to $25.96 billion, supported by acquisitions, but organic comparable sales rose just 0.2%, below the 0.8% expected. Diluted earnings were $4.27 per share. Company-defined adjusted diluted earnings, a non-GAAP measure, reached $4.40 per share and exceeded the $4.22 FactSet consensus estimate. Results also included a $0.11-per-share benefit from tariff refunds. Management reduced its full-year sales forecast to $92 billion and now expects comparable sales to be approximately flat. Still, the shares reversed a premarket decline and closed 2.0% higher at $220 on August 19. For Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW), the question is whether contractor demand can cushion the combined pressure from weak DIY spending and subdued housing activity.
The operating split was clear. Pro, online, and home services growth helped Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW) produce a fifth consecutive quarter of positive comparable sales. Online sales increased nearly 16%, while contractors and repair-and-maintenance projects supported demand. Acquisitions expanded the reported revenue base but are excluded from the comparable-sales calculation, making the 0.2% organic increase the better measure of underlying momentum.
The weaker side extends beyond the consumer. Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW) said persistent pressure on discretionary DIY spending partly offset its stronger categories. The revised outlook also incorporated softer housing trends affecting Foundation Building Materials and Artisan Design Group, particularly their residential-construction exposure. Consumers continue prioritizing necessary repairs while postponing larger projects, and weak housing turnover is also limiting construction and renovation activity.
Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW) is getting support from customers whose spending is less discretionary than a kitchen remodel or major outdoor project. Pro demand, home services, and online growth provide several ways to capture repair, maintenance, and contractor spending while DIY customers remain cautious. The adjusted earnings beat shows that profitability held up better than organic sales, even after accounting for the tariff-refund benefit. If lower mortgage rates eventually revive housing turnover, these businesses could provide a stronger base for renewed DIY and construction demand.

MOSCOW, Aug 24 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin on Monday handed the Russian state the power to take control of critically important infrastructure if it is deemed to be poorly protected from Ukrainian drone attacks and other threats.
The special powers, set out in a presidential decree, will allow the state to take over temporary administration of such facilities at a time when Ukraine has stepped up drone attacks on oil refineries and retail warehouses.
The state will be able to take control of physical and financial assets and formal ownership rights if entities responsible for such facilities are judged to have failed in their duty to protect them and are too slow to repair them after any attack, according to the decree.
It applies to fuel, energy, industrial, communications, transport and logistics facilities and other objects regarded as critically-important for ensuring the security and economic stability of the state and the population.
First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said the measure should not be viewed as a precursor to nationalisation and would not be used on a broad scale.

Over-the-counter anti-aging supplements taken by millions of Americans to boost energy and lessen the side effects of chemotherapy may actually impair cancer treatments, a new study suggests.
Researchers at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine found that popular vitamin B3 derivatives – including nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), nicotinamide riboside (NR) and nicotinamide (NAM) – could help cancer cells survive chemotherapy.
Those compounds are used by the body to produce NAD+, a molecule that helps cells generate energy and repair damage.
Iv Therapy And Supplements Under Scrutiny As Experts Warn Of Potential Side Effects
The study, published in the journal Cancer Letters, examined how these supplements interact with treatments for pancreatic cancer, a particularly deadly form of the disease with a 13% five-year survival rate, according to the American Cancer Society.

Gold (GC=F) may have gotten ahead of itself for now. It's pausing after rallying into a key technical level, getting stretched to the upside in the process.
SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) ripped higher from its July low, part of a broader gold breakout that is repairing much of the damage from earlier this year.
The bigger recovery still looks intact. The near-term setup is a different story.
GLD topped out near $496 earlier this year before sliding to a July closing low of about $365. Halfway between those two levels sits $430.
That is almost exactly where buyers ran out of gas on Monday.

He claims that the Sussexes' return could draw attention away from the royals. He further adds that there could be more media attention on visits in similar contexts to those of the royals.
Royal expert Richard Palmer said that although the Sussexes will remain private individuals, they could attract significant media attention. This could also potentially take attention away from working royals. He wrote to the i-Paper, "While visiting a charity in Los Angeles may go largely unnoticed, there will be far more media attention when they carry out visits in the UK, especially if one of the working Royal Family is doing something similar and possibly trying to communicate a different message, sources said."
Palmer revealed that sources close to the Waleses claim that they will continue their normal lives and won't be paying much attention to the Sussexes. "But after previous disruptions to their agenda caused by diary clashes with Harry and Meghan, they may need to think again," he elaborated. It's learned that Prince Harry had reached an agreement last July with Buckingham Palace to avoid any potential schedule clashes and ease tension. While there have been some disagreements, it's known that their arrangements have largely worked. They reportedly will "play it by the ear" for now.
Another royal expert, Joe Little, claimed that despite the Sussexes' and Waleses' strained bond, the two couples may be required to work together whenever possible to avoid diary clashes.
Earlier, ******* O!'s royal editor Emily Nash revealed that the Waleses are "not delighted" by the Sussexes' UK return. She added, "It's going to be a very, very difficult hill to climb, having them suddenly back in the UK, popping up, doing things publicly, if that's where they go with this. So much has been said and done that has damaged that relationship, almost beyond repair."

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Cincinnati Reds infielder/outfielder Michael Toglia will undergo season-ending surgery Tuesday on his right shoulder after he was injured Friday making a diving catch against Arizona.
Manager Terry Francona made the announcement Monday before the opener of a three-game series at San Francisco. Team orthopedist Dr. Tim Kremchek will perform the surgery to repair a torn labrum and Toglia will do his rehabilitation in San Diego to be close to family, Francona said.
The switch-hitting Toglia suffered a dislocated shoulder on the play in the first inning of the 9-0 loss at Chase Field when, playing left field, he caught the ball by Geraldo Perdomo.
"That kid, he swore he was going to play. I saw him in the training room the next day, he was trying to do stuff," Francona said. "That's pretty amazing to me."
Toglia was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday, a move retroactive to Saturday. The 28-year-old Toglia batted .115 with an RBI over 10 games with eight starts. He was a top prospect with Colorado after the Rockies selected him 23rd overall in the first round of the 2019 draft out of UCLA.

MOSCOW, Aug 24 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin on Monday handed the Russian state the authority to take control of critically-important infrastructure facilities if they are deemed to be poorly protected from Ukrainian drone attacks and other threats.
The special powers, set out in a presidential decree, will allow the state to take over temporary administration of such facilities at a time when Ukraine has stepped up drone attacks on oil refineries and retail warehouses.
The state will be able to take control of physical and financial ****** ets and formal ownership rights if the entities responsible for such facilities are judged to have failed in their duty to protect them and are too slow to repair them after any attack, according to the decree.
It listed fuel, energy, industrial, communications, transport and logistics facilities and other objects regarded as critically-important for ensuring the security and economic stability of the state and the population as falling within the new decree's scope.
Putin last week ordered the government to launch a programme to rebuild commercial warehouses damaged or destroyed by Ukraine in recent weeks.

Home insurance is supposed to be there when things go wrong. A fire, flood or damaged roof can leave homeowners facing tens of thousands of dollars in repairs and insurance is meant to help soften that financial blow.
But while homeowners wait for that money, insurers can continue earning investment income on funds they haven't yet paid out.

It turns out the Seattle Seahawks secondary is even more banged up than first realized.
After a weekend in which the team lost rookie safety Bud Clark to a broken ankle, it's also been revealed that another safety is currently out of commission, albeit on a shorter timeline. ESPN's Brady Henderson reported on Sunday night that Rodney Thomas II, brought in as a free agent signing from the Indianapolis Colts, recently underwent surgery for a fractured hand.
One note on the Seahawks' safety depth in light of Bud Clark going down tonight: I'm told Rodney Thomas II had surgery this past week to repair a fracture in his hand. That's why he's not playing tonight. Sounds like he has a chance to play next week.
"Yeah, he has a hand [injury], and we'll see if and when he's coming back on time," Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said after Sunday's loss to the Tennessee ******* ans.
Without Clark and Thomas, the Seahawks relied heavily on a three-safety rotation of A.J. Finley, D'Anthony Bell, and Maxen Hook to get through Week 2 of preseason.

Prince Harry could repair his relationship with Prince William by keeping family matters private. As Harry spends more time in the UK with Meghan and their children, a royal expert says staying silent could give the brothers a better chance to rebuild their strained relationship.
Harry and Meghan are preparing to spend more time in Britain, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are reportedly expected to attend school there. However, the expert says their return could face a bigger challenge than public opinion or how people in the UK welcome them. The real test may be whether Harry can keep family matters private.
Sources reportedly told Express that Harry plans to stop making public accusations against his family. He has also allegedly decided to limit his television interviews. However, the expert questions whether Harry can stay quiet when discussing the Royal Family.
Prince William will likely remain cautious about Harry's return. Years of public revelations have damaged the trust between the brothers. Harry's criticism of the Royal Family has caused lasting damage. His comments about William and Princess Kate have added further strain.
The expert says even a long period of silence will not erase their difficult history. Harry's public disclosures have fundamentally changed the relationship the brothers once shared, making any reconciliation a difficult and lengthy process.

The letter outlined potential incremental opportunities for portfolio companies through AI. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.

Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater returned to the practice field on Saturday.
Slater missed the entire 2025 season after suffering a torn patellar tendon during last summer's training camp. While he was initially cleared, a little flare-up in his surgically repaired left knee on August 4 forced the team to exercise caution.
After sitting out eight consecutive practices and missing the preseason matchup against the 49ers, Slater finally made his way back to action in a limited capacity. He participated in individual drills and the opening period of 11-on-11 team reps before moving aside to finish his day under the supervision of trainers.
Though Slater's workload is being heavily managed, there is plenty of reason for optimism regarding his return. Slater previously stated that his knee feels "strong and stable," adding that he appreciates the organization's "smart and thoughtful" approach to his long-term health.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh has indicated that he hopes to play his healthy starters for two full drives in the upcoming preseason game against the Rams on Thursday. Whether the coaching staff fields Slater or keeps him for the Week 1 opener against the Cardinals, his return signals that the offensive anchor is right on track.

Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam etched his name in the record books on the second day of the second Test against Australia in Mackay, becoming the first bowler from his country to claim a seven-wicket haul against Australia. He also became the first Bangladesh bowler to take seven wickets in a Test innings, with his sensational figures of 7/48 now the best-ever by a Bangladesh pacer in Tests.
Shoriful produced a sensational spell of 7/48 in 15 overs to overshadow Mitchell Starc's six-wicket haul and keep Bangladesh alive in a Test that appeared to be slipping away after they were bowled out for just 64.
The left-arm pacer also registered the best figures by a Bangladesh bowler away from home in Tests, surpassing Taijul Islam's 7/138 against Zimbabwe in Harare earlier this year.
Australia began their innings at 41/3 but recovered through a 77-run partnership between Steve Smith and Cameron Green. Smith made 42 off 74 ***** , including six fours, while Green continued the repair work with a fluent 67 off 105 ***** , hitting 10 boundaries.
Shoriful, however, kept Bangladesh in the contest with his pace, movement and bounce. He eventually reduced Australia to 148/8 before the hosts' lower order mounted another resistance.
Green and Nathan Lyon added 38 runs before Shoriful ended Green's resistance with a pinpoint yorker to complete his magnificent seven-wicket haul. Lyon then remained unbeaten on 32 off 62 ***** , including four boundaries and a six, and helped Australia reach 210.
Lyon and Josh Hazlewood added another 24 runs for the final wicket, frustrating Bangladesh before Taijul Islam dismissed Hazlewood to end the innings.
Australia's total gave them a commanding 146-run first-innings lead.
Shoriful's achievement came only one Test after Hasan Mahmud had set a new Bangladesh record against Australia with 6/55 in Darwin. Hasan's nine wickets in that match helped Bangladesh secure their first-ever Test victory in Australia.
Earlier, Australia had won the toss and opted to field, with Starc responding to Bangladesh's first-Test victory in emphatic fashion.
The left-arm quick tore through the Bangladesh batting lineup with astonishing figures of 6/12, while Pat ***** mins claimed three wickets as the visitors were dismissed for just 64. Shoriful was Bangladesh's top scorer with 14.
Bangladesh began their second innings under pressure and reached 39/3 by the end of the first session. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was unbeaten on 23, with Mushfiqur Rahim on four.
Starc had already taken two wickets, while ***** mins added one as Bangladesh trailed by 107 runs.
Despite Shoriful's historic spell, Australia remain firmly in control and Bangladesh face a daunting task to avoid conceding the series-levelling Test.

In an unexpected development, Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff will not need surgery to repair the anterior capsule in his right shoulder.
Woodruff, 33, expected to undergo surgery this month, which would have been the second procedure performed on his shoulder in three years. Yet after undergoing new four-week imaging scans and consulting with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Keith Meister, surgery was not recommended, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Curt Hogg.
Instead, Woodruff will begin a five-week throwing progression and continue plyometric work as part of his rehabilitation.
Despite the encouraging news. the nine-year veteran is still unlikely to return for the Brewers' upcoming postseason run. Brewers manager Pat Murphy is hoping there's a chance, but acknowledged the uphill climb Woodruff faces.
"I think there's a low possibility, but I think there's a possibility," Murphy told MLB.com's Casey Drottar.

Rafael dos Anjos is back.
Dos Anjos will return from a two-year-long layoff to face Alexander Hernandez at UFC 332 (Paramount+) on Oct. 3 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie but asked to remain anonymous, as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. ESPN Brasil was first to report the news.
Dos Anjos (32-17 MMA, 21-15 UFC), a former UFC lightweight champion, hasn't competed since injuring his knee in a TKO loss to Geoff Neal in October 2024 – his third setback in a row. The 41-year-old had to undergo three surgeries to repair a torn ACL and meniscus.
Hernandez (18-9 MMA, 10-8 UFC) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Rafa Garcia at UFC Fight Night 274 in April. Prior to that, the 33-year-old was on a four-fight winning streak – including finishes of Chase Hooper and Diego Ferreira.

Max Holloway may lose a portion of his fight purse following his UFC 329 victory over Conor McGregor — and he's not alone. Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) will decide on Wednesday if the former featherweight and BMF champ, along with lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett and heavyweight newcomer Gable Steveson, will incur disciplinary fines for cage hopping during the July 11 fight card in Las Vegas.
Pimblett defeated Benoit Saint Denis, not long after Steveson steamrolled Elisha Ellison.
"For the record, this rule needs to be changed," Pimblett's manager, Graham Boylan told MMA Junkie. "Yes, it's the fight game, and systems need to be in play to make it all work, but this rule does nothing to support that. It's 2026. Apply a little common sense."
Diego Lopes was dinged $5,000 for a similar infraction at UFC 300.
NSAC has been cracking down on airborne fighters ever since Khabib Nurmagomedov's ****** bombed Dillon Danis at UFC 229 back in late 2018, a fight that also involved McGregor. Speaking of the "Notorious" ex-champion, he's currently sidelined after knee surgery to repair damage suffered in his loss to Holloway — just don't expect much sympathy from the "Blessed" Hawaiian.

Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly traveled to their Scottish residence amid news of the Sussexes' planned UK return. A source claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales are not "delighted" by Prince Harry's latest move, suggesting it could be difficult for them to see the Sussexes return to the public eye while their relationship remains strained beyond repair.
Prince William and Kate Middleton joined King Charles at Balmoral with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The Waleses traditionally visit the Scottish residence each year, but it remains unclear how long they will stay this time. Their visit comes amid reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to spend an extended period in the UK.
HELLO!'s royal editor Emily Nash discussed the Waleses' reported reaction to the Sussexes' return on the A Right Royal Podcast. She suggested that Prince William and Kate Middleton may not be particularly pleased by the prospect.
She explained, "Well, what is intriguing about this is the complete radio silence coming from that end of the spectrum. And what's interesting about it is that they're normally away at this time of year. I imagine they're not delighted about this."
Reflecting on the deeply strained relationship between the two couples, Nash added, "It's going to be a very, very difficult hill to climb, having them suddenly back in the UK, popping up, doing things publicly, if that's where they go with this. So much has been said and done that has damaged that relationship, almost beyond repair."

Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW)'s second-quarter results were a mixed bag. The company beat expectations on earnings and gross margin, with EPS of $4.27 versus $4.22 expected. However, sales came in at $25.96 billion, below the roughly $26.16 billion estimate, while comparable sales rose just 0.2% against expectations of 0.8%. Lowe's also cut its full-year comparable-sales outlook to flat growth from its previous range of 0% to 2%.
The encouraging part is that the weakness appears to be more about cautious consumers and the broader housing environment than a major execution problem at Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW). The company is seeing better momentum from professional customers, home services, and online sales, while homeowners continue to spend on necessary repairs even as they postpone larger remodeling projects.

The biggest positive from the quarter is that Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW) managed to beat earnings expectations even though sales missed. EPS came in at $4.27, ahead of the $4.22 consensus, while gross margin also exceeded expectations. That suggests the company is doing a reasonably good job managing costs and its merchandise mix in a difficult sales environment.
For investors, this matters because Lowe's does not necessarily need strong revenue growth to keep generating solid earnings if it can maintain margins and operate efficiently. Consumers may be delaying expensive kitchen remodels, bathroom renovations, and other discretionary projects, but they still have to fix roofs, plumbing, appliances, and other parts of their homes.

When Daniel Duarte had his second elbow surgery in April 2024, most people the right-handed reliever spoke to believed his chances of getting back to the big league mound were a relative coin flip.
Duarte's 18-month recovery has the potential to be a lifetime in Major League Baseball. An opportunity in his native Mexico in the Mexican Pacific Winter League this past winter helped the right-hander regain his confidence. He did not allow an earned run in 24 innings and converted five saves.
Then, the Mets came calling with a minor league deal.
"I knew once I have the opportunity, I can show that I still can pitch in the big leagues," Duarte told NorthJersey.com this week. "First of all, I want to be healthy because in the past, there's been a couple of injuries, like one Tommy John and bone spurs and tendinitis, different kind of stuff. I'm glad that now I have no problems, healthy and doing what I like."
More than two seasons removed from his baseball career teetering on disrepair, Duarte, whose only extended major league action came in 2023 with the Reds, has latched onto his opportunity in a Mets bullpen still reeling from a massive trade deadline sell-off.

Michael Penix was meeting with his doctor on a call Thursday night. The Falcons quarterback hopes to be fully cleared, but he has no idea one way or the other.
"Whatever [the doctor] says, that's what it's going to be," Penix said, via Tori McElhaney of the team website. "I am going to trust him, and trust God and I am just going to continue taking steps in the right direction."
Penix has yet to participate in team drills and thus has not yet gotten involved in the starting quarterback competition with Tua Tagovailoa. Penix said on July 29 that the doctor wanted to give his surgically repaired knee another four weeks before "going to the next stage."
So, Penix has watched all the 11-on-11 drills in training camp.
"If I had a rush coming at me and everything, I can get away," Penix said. "But it's just the right now is if I don't get away. That's what we're thinking about: If I don't get away. I don't think my doctor is ready for me to take those hits right now, but that time is coming real soon."
