On September 10, Tsakos Energy Navigation (NYSE:TEN) reported a first half of 2026 that reads like a fantasy year for a decades-old tanker operator. Net income hit $228 million, more than triple what the company earned over the same six months a year earlier, while diluted EPS climbed to $7.12 from $1.70. Behind those numbers sits a rare combination: a fleet locked into billions in forward earnings, war-driven cargo detours pushing rates higher, and a newbuilding bet that has already paid off before half the ships have even hit the water.
The earnings power came from two directions at once. The average time charter equivalent rate rose 41% to $43,503 a day in the first half, and profit-sharing contracts on nine large vessels brought in $71 million, up from just $10 million a year earlier. Even with six vessels pulled from service for scheduled dry docks, the fleet still ran at 96.5% utilization. Second-quarter results followed the same pattern, with net income of $139.3 million, which included a $38 million gain on ******* et sales, and earnings per share of $4.40 against $0.67 in last year's second quarter.
Tsakos is also sitting on a fleet renewal bet that already worked out. Since the start of 2023, the company has sold 20 tankers averaging 17.3 years old and replaced them with 35 vessels averaging just half a year old. Its 26-ship newbuilding program, contracted for about $3.1 billion, is now valued roughly 30% above that cost, and CEO Nikolas Tsakos said the VLCCs in that order book have nearly doubled in price since they were placed. With $466 million in cash and forward committed earnings of roughly $3.5 billion, management has room to raise its dividend, which already paid out $1.60 per share this year, and is weighing whether to redeem $120 million of 9.25% preferred shares, a move it estimates could add $0.30 to $0.40 to EPS.
That performance came against a backdrop the company would rather not have. President George Saroglou said vessels have been attacked, and seafarers hurt or killed trying to keep global trade moving through the Strait of Hormuz, where a ceasefire unraveled roughly halfway through its planned 60-day run and a US naval presence now tries to manage safe passage. Tsakos has chosen to route around the strait entirely rather than put crews through the toll those attacks take.
The cost side is climbing too. Bunker prices jumped about 25%, pushing first-half voyage expenses to $82 million from $68 million, and operating expenses rose to $111 million from $102 million on higher dry-docking costs and inflation. Total debt reached $2.1 billion at the end of June, up from $1.8 billion a year earlier, as the company finances its newbuilding program. And while profit-sharing revenue jumped, the operating days tied to those market-related contracts actually fell 22%, meaning a smaller slice of the fleet is left exposed to capture further spot-rate gains if the tanker market keeps running hot.

The Clasico Regio ended in a 0-0 draw as neither team was able to find that breakout goal. The match was supposed to be one filled with excitement and passion, as is every rivalry game, but this one fell short of that by miles. Now Monterrey will prepare for a difficult game against current champions Cruz Azul while Tigres will face 18th place Juárez.
The beginning of the game seemed to set the tone for the game as Monterrey spent the first 10 minutes pressing high. They were not giving Tigres any room to breathe. This high pressure led to frustrations for the visitors who committed fouls left and right. Joaquim even went as far as committing an unnecessary reckless foul and he was awarded the first yellow card seven minutes into the game. In the 10th minute that high pressure paid off with a dangerous opportunity as the Rayados made their way up the right flank. The ball was crossed into the box but Mauro Lainez was there to kick the ball out of danger. A few minutes later and the home side had another opportunity as Orbelin Pineda beat his mark on the left wing and made his way into the box. Unfortunately he did not shoot as he tried to find the perfect angle and in the process he was dispossessed.
By the 30 minute mark the game had hit a stalemate as both teams attempted to break the other down but the defenses stood strong. Monterrey weren't pressing with the high intensity as they had at the beginning of the game meanwhile Tigres were just trying to make their way forward but were unable to make any real threats. A few minutes later Monterrey had a big chance at goal as Lucas Ocampos received a cross in the box that he sent towards the net but Nahuel was there to make the save. This seemed to awaken Rayados who picked up the intensity but were stopped short by Tigres who started to foul again. Mauro Lainez even picked up a yellow for a foul. The half ended with both teams pushing but unable to find anything.
The second half started like the first with Monterrey putting pressure on Tigres who had trouble moving the ball forward. They then had a dangerous chance in the 55th minute when Juan Brunetta stole the ball at the halfway line and made a run towards his opponents box. Instead of making his way into the box he shot from distance but the ball went over the crossbar. Brunetta seemed to be the only one on Tigres who was attempting to make any breakthroughs while his teammates did little to help him. In the 60th minute the visitors had a big chance as they were awarded a free kick outside of the box due to a Rayados foul. The ball made its way inside the box where Alan Franco headed the ball towards the net but Andrada collected the ball.
It wasn't until the 65th minute that either team made substitutions as Monterrey struck first as Matias Almeyda decided to put fresh legs in at striker. A few minutes later Victor Vucetich also brought in two players with fresh legs looking for a spark his team needed. These changes didn't work for eith

The Wisconsin Badgers beat the Western Illinois Leathernecks 36-9 on a night that started on a high note but ended with many questions as Wisconsin improved to 1-1 on the season.
Wisconsin entered the week as a 36.5-point favorite, and that jumped all the way to 42.5 ahead of kickoff. Things looked great on the first snap of regulation, as Abu Sama III bounced a run to the edge for a 72-yard touchdown to give the Badgers an early 7-0 lead.
The Badgers forced a quick three-and-out and faced their first minor issue as Tyrell Henry fumbled on the punt return, but Wisconsin was able to recover and got great starting field position at their own 46-yard line. Sama quickly got the Badgers moving with a 31-yard run on the first play of the drive, once again bouncing to the edge and winning with speed.
One play later, the Badgers got into the red zone, but the drive stalled there as a first-down Sama run went for negative yards. Wisconsin couldn't recover from there, and they kicked a field goal in the red zone for an early 10-0 lead.
Wisconsin's defense looked sharp once again on the ensuing drive with their second consecutive three-and-out, and the punt unit made a major play for the second week in a row. After Liam Danitz blocked a punt against Notre Dame last week, Carson Van Dinter got a blocked punt early on Saturday, which he returned for an easy touchdown. Suddenly, Wisconsin was up 17-0 less than halfway through the first quarter.

It wasn't pretty, but Arizona volleyball found a way to end its five-game losing streak with a victory over Oregon State on Saturday. The Wildcats won 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 27-25) at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
"It was necessary for us to win that match," said Arizona head coach Rita Stubbs.
It was a struggle throughout. Arizona had difficulty scoring and Oregon State had success against the Wildcats' block. While Arizona had nine blocks, it also had four blocking errors on the day. The Wildcats only had nine blocking errors in seven matches this season prior to Saturday.
Things were tight in the sets Arizona won. The Beavers took a late lead in all three before Arizona came back. The third set, which Oregon State won, was even less competitive than the 25-16 score suggested. The Wildcats persevered and Stubbs used her bench when she needed to.
Destiny Ndam-Simpson leads the Wildcats with 3.42 kills per set this season, but Saturday wasn't her day. The Beavers kept her in check, regularly taking her out of the play with their serve. She received 24 serves despite being subbed out halfway through the third set and not returning. Only Carlie Cisneros with 25 receptions in four sets was targeted more. Four of the Beavers' seven aces were charged to Ndam-Simpson.

I'm not saying he's Knownshon Moreno. But Chauncey Bowens hurdling a defender without breaking stride to casually stroll into the endzone at 225 pounds is a thing that doesn't look like it should be possible.
So far, so good in Athens with the Red and Black (and White) up by three touchdowns halfway through the first quarter.

The Miami Hurricanes move to 2-0 after drubbing the FAMU Rattlers 77-7 on Thursday night at Hard Rock Stadium. I predicted Miami by 40+ and clearly that was an easy take.
Diatribe coming, skip ahead: I greatly appreciate what the FCS games do for the FCS athletic departments, essentially the payoff keeps the schools afloat for the year, however these games need to be recalibrated. I was bored halfway through the first quarter and went to sleep at halftime.
My suggestion is to move these games to Week Zero, treat it like a preseason game ie. it doesn't count, and still pay the teams the fee to come and play. That would give FSU a chance to check their light system, and everyone else a chance to simulate the game day experience with a lower ticket price while still being televised. The fact that your season ticket package includes this boring game, in addition to Central Michigan, would feel like robbery to me. OK- DIATRIBE OVER.
The Canyonero Keys to Victory main theme was to drive over a team ranked in the 200's in SP+ and throw it in reverse and back over them again. Miami did just that and we're all ready to move on to real opponents now. The three keys were:
1- Don't get **** y, stick to the plan. Miami pounded the rock three times on the opening drive and it was capped by a Mark Fletcher TD. The 'Canes plan was to get the run game going and the Darian Mensah to his receivers connection fresh. It worked.

Spectacular goals, peerless technique and a true Nerazzurri heart: born in Belgrade on 11 September 1978, Dejan Stankovic celebrates his 48th birthday today. Deki spent nine years in Nerazzurri colours, from January 2004 to 2013, making 326 appearances, scoring 42 goals and lifting an incredible 15 trophies: one Champions League, one FIFA Club World Cup, five Scudetti, and the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana four times apiece. Those achievements also earned him a place in the Club's Hall of Fame, fitting recognition of his deep bond with the Nerazzurri. To mark his birthday, Internazionale Morning Club looks back on his Inter journey through the story of one unforgettable match: the 4-3 derby victory over AC Milan on 28 October 2006.
Take a moment to picture the goal you would most like to score if you were a footballer. Your first thought is probably the right one: a goal from the halfway line. Perhaps even on the volley. Now imagine not merely dreaming of it, but actually doing it. And then doing it again in a Champions League quarter-final. This is no dream. This is Dejan Stankovic.
And yet, on reflection, perhaps there was no single position in which Dejan Stankovic was irreplaceable. He could play anywhere in a flat 4-4-2 or a midfield diamond. Look at it just as objectively, however, and it becomes impossible to leave the Serbian midfielder out of any all-time Inter XI. Indeed, he is almost always there. He went straight into the Club's Hall of Fame in 2019, receiving more votes than any other midfielder.
It is difficult to name an aspect of the game at which Deki did not excel. We have already mentioned his shooting: there were plenty of goals, and they always seemed to matter. Four came in derbies, for starters. Two arrived during the 2009/10 Champions League campaign, helping Inter emerge unbeaten from testing group-stage encounters away to Rubin Kazan and at home to Dynamo Kyiv - two important steps on the road to Champions League success.
Choosing one defining moment is no easy task. It would be all too obvious to celebrate those two masterpieces from the halfway line - or, in truth, from even farther out. Their time will come. Instead, we have chosen another: a goal scored in a derby that all but confirmed a shift in the balance of power in Milano. After two decades in which the Rossoneri generally held the upper hand, from 1986 to 2006, the 20 years since have largely belonged to the Nerazzurri.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have reached the milestone that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had been preparing for since announcing their return to Britain: both children are now attending school in the United Kingdom.
Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, have begun the new school year, PEOPLE reported on September 10. It is the first time either child has attended school in Britain, although details about the school and the family's new home are being kept private.
A source close to Harry and Meghan said getting the children settled "has been, and remains, their focus" since the family relocated from California. "There is a lot to do. They have just moved halfway across the world, and it's been really busy getting the kids settled," the source said.
The Sussexes arrived in Britain in late August after six years based primarily in California. Their move and the children's enrollment were announced several weeks before classes began, but the new update confirms that Archie and Lilibet have now made the transition into their first British school year.
The September start represents different firsts for the two children. Archie was born in London in May 2019 and spent part of his infancy in Britain, but he moved to North America with his parents before reaching school age. Lilibet was born in California in June 2021 and has only previously visited her father's home country.

CHENNAI: The road to the World Test Championship (WTC) final for India is getting tougher, with every series carrying greater significance. The task has become even more challenging after they failed to win the final Test against Sri Lanka recently.

India's next step takes them to New Zealand for a two-Test series, having not won there in a decade and a half. NZ's premier left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner, who is leading Edinburgh Castle Rockers in the ongoing European T20 Premier League (ETPL), told TOI in an exclusive chat that India's pace attack, led by Jasprit ***** rah, will play a major role in the final outcome of the series. Excerpts...

How crucial will it be for India to adapt to conditions given only a few players from the current set-up have played Tests in NZ?

The first thing is to try and understand the conditions as quickly as possible. A few players have been there before and done well. In Oct-Nov, the pitches can play differently compared to Feb-March. So, early in the season in New Zealand, the ball might move around a little bit. It is about getting your head around that.

What's your take on India's pace attack?

Bumrah leading the attack and being able to nip and swing the ball will hold the key. (Mohammed) Siraj has done it for a long time as well and (Prasidh) Krishna is obviously bowling well. There is a lot of variety, which is what you need.

Did you have a look at Manav Suthar?

He has been very impressive since he made his debut. He gets nice and tight to the stumps and gets good shape on the ball. He does bowl with good overspin when he needs to and that is the key in NZ, trying to get a bit of bounce especially if there is grass. I think there is still a role for a spinner in NZ, especially in Tests alongside the quicks, whether it is first or second innings when the pitch might be holding up. On days four and five, it could spin a bit. Whether it is Jadeja or Suthar, both are very good options.

What do you think about India's struggles in Test cricket recently?

I think it has always been a challenge. They always play the best teams, and then having to adapt to the conditions quickly is the main thing. But they have got all bases covered.

How important is ETPL for the European players, who don't always get to play a lot of top-quality cricket?

It is perfect for Scottish, Irish and players from Holland. It gives them more exposure and opportunity to play against some good players. We have seen how good they are in their own right. To be fair, in the last few years, we have had some great games against Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. You throw a few overseas players in, and the tournament (ETPL) is really strong.

There is some great cricket on show already, which is good. And we are only halfway through.

With a multibillionaire in the Oval Office, there's rarely been a better time to be rich in America. Nearly halfway into his second term, President Donald Trump's signature policy accomplishment has been the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), a sweeping reform of the country's tax code.
Perhaps one of the most noteworthy aspects of this new tax law is the creation of a new additional standard deduction for older Americans (1), which already comes on top of the extra standard deduction older Americans already receive.

GREEN BAY, WI — Up the Lambeau Field tunnel No. 5 Notre Dame trudged, followed halfway through the season opener Sunday against seemingly overmatched Wisconsin by an unwelcome companion.
A partner that wasn't supposed to be part of the plan at any point this season, certainly not the first game. Not 30 minutes into a campaign that many believe will have Notre Dame chasing its first national championship since 1988.

Charlie Woods faces a steep climb after Saturday's round at the Junior Players Championship. The 17-year-old son of Tiger Woods shot a 1-over 73 on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. He now sits at even par after 36 holes. This score leaves him four strokes behind the leaders. Sam Carraher, Dawson Lew, and Giuseppe Puebla all share the top spot at 4-under. Woods started the day tied for eighth following a 1-under 71 on Friday. His second round saw him mix four birdies with five bogeys. The pressure at Sawgrass is real, even for the son of a legend. He will begin Sunday tied for 14th place. The final round starts at 8:10am. It is a tough test for a senior at The Benjamin School.
According to GolfMagic, Woods' performance on Saturday was a mix of highs and lows. He birdied the 2nd, 3rd, 10th, and 18th holes. However, bogeys on the 4th, 6th, 11th, 12th, and 16th holes cost him ground. The leaderboard shows a tight race at the top. Golfweek reported that this event celebrates its 20th anniversary this Labor Day weekend. The field includes seventy-eight of the globe's finest young golfers. They represent 16 countries and 19 states. Thirteen players from the 2026 Junior Presidents Cup squads are taking part. For many, this is a major step up. Stephen Hamblin, the AJGA's executive director since 1984, has seen countless players make this jump. The organization has grown from a broken-down van and 13 tournaments a year to 145 events nationwide.
Off the course, big news broke. Golf Monthly reported that Woods officially joined the TaylorMade roster with a new name, image, and likeness deal. This was not a surprise to those watching his bag closely. He has used the brand's gear for months. A social media post by TaylorMade featured the caption: "Just getting started" Welcome to the squad, Charlie Woods. #TeamTaylorMade .David Ables, CEO of TaylorMade Golf, stated, "We build our roster of athletes around those who are driven by the game of golf and have an unmatched desire to compete at the highest level" Woods will use a near full set of TaylorMade clubs. This includes the Qi4D driver and fairway woods. His irons are the P7CB and P7TW models. He also uses MG5 wedges and TP5x golf ***** .
Being four shots back at the halfway point is not impossible, but it is difficult. The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass punishes mistakes. Woods made five bogeys in his second round. That is a high number for a player of his caliber. GolfMagic noted that he sits at even par. The leaders are at 4-under. To win, he needs to play much better on Sunday. His mother, Elin Nordegren, has been there to cheer him on. She was pictured taking photos during the opening round. The pressure is different here. He is not just playing a junior event. He is playing on the same course where his father won The Players Championship. Tiger Woods has a significant history at TPC Sawgrass. Charlie is trying to carve his own path while wearing the family name. The new TaylorMade deal adds another

Chris Sutton claimed that Liverpool 'may have got away' with a potential red card offence at Portman Road on Friday night.
The Reds surged into a 2-0 lead against Ipswich inside nine minutes thanks to a brace of Alexander Isak goals, both of which were set up by Cody Gakpo, although the home side asked a few questions of the visitors later in the first half.
Seven minutes after the interval, Jeremy Jacquet was shown a yellow card by Darren England for a collison with Tractor Boys striker Emersson near the halfway line.
That prompted Sutton to say on co-commentary for Sky Sports that the Liverpool defender 'has had the odd clumsy moment in this game', perhaps referring to a first-half moment of hesitation between him and Alisson Becker inside the Reds' penalty area.
Just a couple of minutes after being booked, the 21-year-old took a heavy touch near the sideline and gave the Ipswich striker the chance to steal the ball off him, with the Frenchman then tripping his opponent but not being penalised by the referee.

Gold bulls came roaring back in August.
Then sellers showed up right on cue and pushed prices back toward a level buyers were waiting for.
Gold (GC=F) has been trading around one of technical ******* ysis's simplest ideas: the halfway-back mark. After a big move, traders often wait for the price to retrace 50%, because that's where the risk-reward can suddenly get attractive — you can enter near the level and get out quickly if it doesn't hold.
Start with gold's big downswing this year.
Gold futures (GC=F) closed at 5,508.6 on Jan. 29 (1 on the chart below), then fell to 4,048.7 by July 16 (2). The halfway-back level between those two points was 4,778.7, marked by the red dotted line near (3).

Ahead of his first game as an opening-day starter, Michigan State quarterback Alessio Milivojevic spoke with the media about the team's readiness for Friday night's opener against Toledo, which is also Pat Fitzgerald's debut as head coach.
"There is excitement for every football game, but it just feels different," Milivojevic said in the SpartanMag video above. "It's hard to explain; I'm just ready to get back out there Friday and play."
With a roster that is mostly transfers and first-year players, the Spartans are looking to finally test themselves against a real opponent. They can practice together as much as they want, but they can't prove anything until game time.
"I think guys are just ready to go; the desire to get out there, you can feel it," Milivojevic said. "Guys are practicing 100% every day, ready to play someone other than our own team."
After going through training camp and the first half of last season as the backup, Milivojevic got a full offseason as the expected starter. Practicing with the other starters, instead of being plugged in halfway through the season, has made him more comfortable reading his receivers.

It has been just ten days since Ashton Jeanty went down with an injury in Raiders camp and didn't return. That was Sunday, August 23, which was exactly three weeks from the start of the Raiders' 2026 season. Making today right about the halfway point. And as of today, the Raiders seem to be feeling pretty good about Jeanty's chances of playing.
Today head coach Klint Kubiak was asked for an update on Jeanty, and he said "He's continuing to improve" and as to whether he is confident Jeanty will be available for the opener, he gave a firm "Yes."
This would seem to add to what GM Johh Spytek said of Jeanty the day before.
"I expect him to be back as quick as he can, maybe quicker than some people would expect," Spytek said of Jeanty.
Now, obviously, that's not a definitive timeline. But, then again, neither is being optimistic. However, it's probably a far cry from the fears the team initially had when Jeanty went down in practice.

Apple stock just had its best day in five weeks as John Ternus took over from Tim Cook as CEO, becoming just the company's third chief executive this century.
The rally has pushed Apple away from a support zone near $310 and back toward its late-July record area near $340 — giving shareholders a natural way to define both their downside and upside with options.
Apple (AAPL) was trading around $325 early this week, almost exactly halfway between those two levels. That sets up a strategy known as a collar.
A collar isn't a standalone options bet. The investor must own 100 Apple shares — either already held or bought outright — and then layer the options on top. In this case, that means buying one Sept. 18 $310 put and selling one Sept. 18 $340 call.
With Apple at $324.77 when the trade was priced, the $310 put cost about $2.17 per share, or $217 for one contract. The $340 call brought in about $2.12 per share, or $212.

The Dallas Cowboys saw one of their bubble players suffer an apparent injury halfway through the second quarter of their preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints. It was Marist Liufau who had the apparent wrist injury.
The broadcast noted that Liufau was labeled as questionable to return to the game with a wrist injury. He could indeed be seen grabbing at his wrist as he took a knee on the ground and had to be tended to. He has been one of the players on the roster bubble with regards to making the team in general, and it goes without saying that this could be a potential factor in that math.
Time will tell what his status is moving forward and into Sunday when roster cuts are due as teams have to create an initial 53-man roster. The team likes his special teams ability, but this injury could be a deciding factor depending on severity.

College students spend four years planning for what to do once they leave campus, and spend the next 40 years trying to figure how to get back. It's a truism that college administrators and broadcasters would do well to remember as they continue to separate college football from college campuses.
On Saturday, North Carolina will kick off its season against TCU in Dublin, the fifth straight year that Ireland has hosted a Week 0 game. A few weeks later, Arizona State will face Kansas in London's Wembley Stadium.
If you're wondering what the Tarheels and Horned Frogs have to do with the Emerald Isle, or why the Sun Devils will travel halfway around the planet to play football, well, you're asking the right questions. I have a confession to make. This whole season, I have been waiting for the other proverbial shoe to drop for Eduardo Rodriguez. I had a difficult time believing the same pitcher who had posted consecutive seasons with ERAs north of five could somehow transform himself into a legitimate Cy Young candidate. There were some legitimate reasons for that doubt too between his whiff percentage, strikeout rate, and chase rate all leave something to be desired – to say nothing of expected stats that paint an even worse picture. But at some point, you have to throw out all the other pieces of evidence and recognize that however he's doing it, Rodriguez is putting together one of the best pitching seasons in franchise history. And at a time in the season where every win is crucial, he delivered once more with an absolute gem against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday afternoon. In seven innings of scoreless work, Rodriguez racked up nine strikeouts and allowed just five baserunners all game, inducing a whopping 18 swings and misses along the way.
It was a fairly dominant performance for the veteran lefty, but it wasn't all smooth sailing. In the visiting half of the sixth, Pete Crow-Armstrong, who was mostly contained in the series, stroked a leadoff double down the line and then moved over to third on Seiya Suzuki's groundout. After a shallow flyout from Alex Bregman wasn't deep enough for PCA to score, he decided to take matters into his own hands and bluffed a straight steal of home by sprinting halfway down the third base line. That move unsettled Rodriguez enough for him to shuffle off the pitching rubber before delivering to James McCann behind the plate. The entire Cubs dugout clamored for a balk call, but after a quick umpire consultation, it was declared not a balk – much to PCA's chagrin as he charged directly at the third base umpire and had to be held back by his coaches. After a few replays of the incident, I do think (as does Bob Brenly) that it probably was a balk. E-Rod clearly takes his left foot off the rubber before coming home with the ball, which would be very deceiving to a baserunner and which has always been the intent behind the balk rule. The play also highlighted the fact that every play should be reviewable as other angles show enough that the Cubs at least had an argument and when the margin is so thin, the call should be correct. It's worth watching the whole sequence for yourself to see where you fall on the decision:

For what it's worth, Chicago starter Matthew Boyd nearly matched Rodriguez zero for zero as the veteran journeyman allowed the same number of baserunners (five) in six innings of work and continued the excellent starting pitching the Cubs had in the series. His only mistake was a hanging changeup that Jordan Lawlar just lifted over the right field fence for the only run allowed by a Cubs starting pitcher. The D-Backs added an insurance run in the eighth when consecutive leadoff singles from McCann and La

The Los Angeles Angels placed outfielder Gustavo Campero on the injured list after he came out of Tuesday's loss to the Cleveland Guardians.
Campero injured himself in an attempt to advance from first base to second on a wild pitch in the second inning of Tuesday's loss, pulling up halfway to second base and exiting the game after limping to the base and having a brief conversation with the trainer.
The 28-year-old outfielder had just returned to the team from Triple-A Aug. 22 after outfielder Wade Meckler landed on the concussion injured list. He played in four games afterwards, posting a .788 OPS with two RBIs over the course of those games.
To replace Campero, the Angels recalled outfielder Bryce Teodosio from Triple-A. They also moved the bullpen around, optioning left-hander Blake Weiman and recalling right-hander Trevor Martin.
Teodosio has played 34 games this season, spending most of the year in Triple-A after coming up late in 2025 and posting disappointing numbers. On the year, Teodosio has a .213/.260/.255 slash line for a .515 OPS, and has stolen four bases in five attempts.

Gold (GC=F) may have gotten ahead of itself for now. It's pausing after rallying into a key technical level, getting stretched to the upside in the process.
SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) ripped higher from its July low, part of a broader gold breakout that is repairing much of the damage from earlier this year.
The bigger recovery still looks intact. The near-term setup is a different story.
GLD topped out near $496 earlier this year before sliding to a July closing low of about $365. Halfway between those two levels sits $430.
That is almost exactly where buyers ran out of gas on Monday.

Gennaro Gattuso was grateful to his Lazio players for their solid performance in Bologna, reserving special praise for new signing, Davide Frattesi.
The Biancocelesti began their Serie A campaign on a positive note, beating their Emilian hosts at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara thanks to Frattesi's solitary strike. This victory came just eight days after the shocking Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of Mantova.
In his post-match press conference (via Il Messaggero), Gattuso explained that the team showed more determination off the ball, especially Boulaye Dia and Kenneth Taylor, who pressed high.
Nothing has changed in a week. We simply have to believe in what we are doing, without staying halfway. If you press the ball carrier half-heartedly, you leave yourself exposed to counter-attacks in open **** e.We worked well with Taylor and Dia in the first press, then we often risked one-on-ones and the centre-backs did well. I'm happy with the group I'm coaching.
The Calabrian manager also applauded Christos Mandas for his formidable display between the sticks, while urging his players to improve in the final third.

An ordinary round of golf turned into an extraordinary masterclass as an English amateur defied astronomical odds to card eight birdies across just nine holes.
Allan Harrison started his round at Fairhaven Golf Club with four dropped shots down the front nine before a "pasty and a drink" at the halfway house gave him a burst of life.
The 64-year-old then fired seven consecutive birdies and eight in nine holes - a run of form rarely seen in professional golf, let alone at an amateur level.
Harrison has some prowess as a former foursomes partner of Tommy Fleetwood at Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club.
England Golf calculated the odds across all golfers for making eight birdies in nine holes as an astonishing one in 322 billion.

Order a heavy-duty gas turbine from GE Vernova today and it won't arrive until 2031. That's the company's actual production schedule, confirmed on its July 22 earnings call, and it's the fact sitting underneath every AI data center power plan announced in the last two years. It comes up far less often than the announcements do.
Goldman Sachs put hard numbers on the demand side in May. U.S. data center power demand climbs from 31 gigawatts in 2025 to 41 GW this year and 66 GW in 2027. Year-over-year capacity additions accelerate from 8.5 GW actually realized last year to 13.6 GW scheduled for 2026 and 36.3 GW scheduled for 2027. By then data centers would take 8.5% of total U.S. peak summer demand, up from 4.1% today.
The equipment meant to generate that power is on a completely different clock.
The Big Three Are Booked Solid Into the 2030s
GE Vernova closed the second quarter with 116 GW of gas power equipment backlog and slot reservation agreements, up from 100 GW three months earlier and 83 GW at the end of 2025. It expects at least 125 GW under contract by December. CEO Scott Strazik told **** ysts the company is taking reservations for 2031 delivery and should be more than halfway contracted for that year by the end of 2026. Its production plan: roughly 20 GW annualized this quarter, 24 GW by 2028, and a push toward 30 GW by 2030.
