When DartsWorld suggested that Luke Littler may produce an unprecedented clean sweep of major PDC ****** les this season it's fair to say that the idea was met with a muted reaction. The idea that a player, even one as outstanding as Luke, might go through the card of the PDC's top ****** les was treated as fanciful. Suddenly even the man himself seems to think the unthinkable is possible.
Littler remains on course to complete an unprecedented clean sweep of Premier televised honours this year, having also lifted World Championship, World Masters, UK Open, Premier League and World Cup ****** les in 2026.

Columbia Threadneedle Investments, an investment management company, released its "Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund" second quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. During the quarter, the Fund's Institutional Class shares returned 50.34%, outperforming the MSCI World Information Technology Index's 33.65% gain. Stock selection in semiconductors, technology hardware and software, together with an off-benchmark electrical equipment allocation, supported relative performance, while exposure to financials, consumer discretionary and healthcare detracted. Technology stocks rallied as concerns over the Iran conflict eased and AI infrastructure spending boosted demand for semiconductors, memory, networking, servers and power solutions. The Fund expects AI and data-centre investment to remain strong, supported by broadening earnings growth and improving software bookings, cloud consumption and customer spending. However, geopolitical uncertainty, higher interest rates and heavy AI investment could pressure valuations and free cash flow. The strategy holds 50–75 technology companies across market capitalisations and uses bottom-up GARP research to identify misunderstood and undervalued businesses in the technology industry. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund highlighted Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC). Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC) develops, manufactures, and sells data storage devices and solutions based on hard disk drive (HDD) technology. On July 27, 2026, Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC) closed at $497.92 per share. One-month return of Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC) was -31.70% and its shares gained 517.82% over the past 52 weeks. Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC) has a market capitalization of about $150.67 billion.
Columbia Seligman Global Technology Fund stated the following regarding Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"The position in Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC) was a key contributor as the fund maintained an overweight allocation to the name, and the stock continued an outstanding six-quarter run with its share price more than doubling during the quarter. The rally in the stock was a continuation of demand for high-capacity hard drives and the expectation that tighter industry supply discipline should support better pricing and profitability."

It's official; training camp is here. The Washington Commanders will unofficially kick off preparations for the 2026 season on Wednesday, the first day of training camp. Rookies reported to Ashburn last Friday, while the rest of the team reported on Tuesday.
Before players hit the practice field on Wednesday, general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn met with the media to preview camp and discuss other topics surrounding the team. Last week, the Commanders made some moves, placing cornerback Trey Amos, edge rusher Dorance Armstrong and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
Peters was asked about Amos, who suffered a fractured fibula in Week 10 last season.
"Yeah, I think with Trey, he's doing really well," Peters said. "I think the first thing I'll say is he's been outstanding in his rehab and really, you know, taken all the things that the medical team has asked him to do and done really well. With him, just had a little soft tissue soreness in the offseason, so we wanted to just take it slow. So, he's actually doing really well right now. Just had a report on him earlier. He should be back soon as well. Just wanted to be overly cautious there, but he's doing great. He'll be back pretty soon."

The 2026 FIFA World Cup produced memorable individual performances alongside dramatic knockout matches. While Spain lifted the trophy after defeating Argentina in the final, the tournament also highlighted established superstars and introduced a new generation capable of shaping international football for years to come. Lionel Messi, Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé, Rodri, Lautaro Martínez, and Mikel Oyarzabal each left a distinct mark on the competition through goals, creativity, leadership, or tactical influence.
Even at 39 years old, Lionel Messi remained the heartbeat of Argentina's campaign. Although he did not finish the tournament as champion, he demonstrated once again why he remains one of football's defining players.
Messi contributed both goals and **** ists throughout the knockout rounds, combining composure with outstanding decision-making under pressure. Rather than constantly looking to finish attacks himself, he increasingly orchestrated Argentina's play, creating opportunities for teammates and controlling the tempo during crucial moments.
His performances against Cape Verde, Egypt, Switzerland, and England illustrated how experience can become just as valuable as physical explosiveness. Even without lifting the trophy, Messi's tournament reinforced his remarkable World Cup legacy.
If one player elevated his global reputation more than anyone else, it was Lamine Yamal.

Spain lifted the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which has now sparked a lot of debate about who could win the Ballon d'Or for the recently concluded season.
It is not necessary for a La Roja player to lift the individual award, but the World Cup usually tends to sway the votes one way or the other.
Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has capped another extraordinary season by helping Spain win the World Cup, strengthening his case for the trophy.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the 19-year-old Barcelona star has emerged as a leading candidate to win football's biggest individual prize after adding the World Cup to another outstanding campaign at club level.
Winning the World Cup has elevated Lamine's candidacy, but it is only one part of an exceptional year.

Herbert Hainer has offered a strong endorsement of Bayern Munich's latest acquisitions, Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown, highlighting exactly why the club believes both players can make an impact at the highest level.
"Max Eberl has certainly done a good job by bringing in those two players. Both are very good players, as they showed at the World Cup. Saibari was outstanding until his injury and scored in every game. Brown is an excellent player who can really help us. He has great pace and is a perfect fit for FC Bayern," Hainer told Abendzeitung's Maximilian Koch (as captured by iMiaSanMia).
Saibari's World Cup performances appear to have played a major role in raising his profile. The attacking midfielder was one of the tournament's standout performers before injury interrupted his campaign, and his goalscoring consistency made a particularly strong impression. Scoring in every game before being forced out is a remarkable achievement and underlines the quality Bayern Munich believes it is bringing into its squad.
Brown, meanwhile, offers a different but equally valuable profile. His pace gives Bayern Munich another dynamic option on the flank, while his ability to cover ground quickly could be particularly important in Vincent Kompany's high-intensity system. Hainer's comment that Brown is a "perfect fit for FC Bayern" suggests the club sees more than just potential in the young defender.
Together, the two signings represent another important step in Bayern Munich's squad planning. Both players impressed on the biggest international stage, and now they will have the opportunity to prove that they can translate that form to the Allianz Arena.

Next up on our training camp preview is the tight end position. There are fix tight ends on the roster, but after the departure of David Njoku, all we really have confidence in is Harold Fannin, who had an outstanding rookie season. Who is the next man up, though? We also check out the team's fullback candidates heading into camp.
Height: 6-4 | Weight: 241 lbs | Age: 22
Experience: 2 years | College: Bowling Green
Browns fans are expecting big things from Harold Fannin this year. After his impressive rookie season with 731 yards receiving, fans are predicting him to be in the 800-1,000 yard receiving range. For some of the league's elite tight ends, that's not too far-fetched. In fact, Travis Kelce has done it all 11 seasons he's been in the NFL. However, David Njoku, who was viewed as an explosive receiving tight end for Cleveland, only surpassed 800 yards once in his 9 years with the team. It's easy to jump to that being more indicative of the Browns' quarterback situation as opposed to the talent of the tight end himself.
Nonetheless, the most important part here is that Fannin is viewed as a big-time weapon for this offense. As a rookie, he showed a nice mix of acrobatic catches and the strength to generate yards after the catch that didn't seem like they were even there. If there's one negative on his receiving game as a rookie, it would be that, in my opinion, he sometimes dropped the easy ones.
To grow his game over time, he'll need to be a better in-line blocking tight end. It took Njoku a few years to get to that point. For now, we'll see how Todd Monken's offense utilizes Fannin. Will he be kept in the slot more often like he was as a rookie, with one of the other guys on the depth chart taking on a heavier blocking role?

Nano Nuclear Energy (NASDAQ: NNE), as its name suggests, is designing microreactors. Picture, for a second, a nuclear reactor packed into a shipping container. That, in an image, is what Nano is trying to accomplish.
The company isn't earning commercial revenue from its reactors yet, nor does it have an NRC-approved design. As such, it's very much an early-stage nuclear company with high ambitions and plenty of "unknowns" that could ruin them.

The near-term path for this nuclear stock will be more turbulent than comforting -- risk-tolerant investors only at this point -- but if you can hold fast without letting go, this nuclear stock could be a long-term winner, possibly even growing 15 times by 2040.
How could that happen? Let's run a quick scenario. Let's ******* ume Nano has 70 million shares outstanding (it currently has about 52.1 million, but dilution will likely happen). ANAHEIM, Calif. - Reid Detmers had another stellar start out of the All-Star Break on Wednesday against the St. Louis Cardinals, but he was facing a different kind of foe while battling it out with the Cardinals: the summer sun.
It was a hot one at game time and Detmers was at the mercy of the Wednesday afternoon sun the entire time on the mound. While he more or less cruised through the Cardinals lineup for most of his start, fatigue started to set in as his velocity steadily dropped the entire game, going from 94.1 MPH on his first fastball of the game to just 91.9 on his last.
"It was just hot. The first couple innings felt really good and then the longer I stayed out there, obviously the more tired I got," Detmers said. "But, I didn't really feel like my stuff felt bad. Just the velo's down a little bit. Stuff felt really good actually."
That last fastball was also the one that caused him the most trouble considering that JJ Wentworth took it for a ride for his 15th home run of the season, a solo shot that broke a scoreless tie and put the Cardinals ahead 1-0 in the top of the sixth.
After that, manager Kurt Suzuki from the game to finish what was otherwise an outstanding start with Detmers going 5.1 innings pitched with just one earned run, two hits and two walks allowed while striking out six.

Richard Gleeson, who was signed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as an injury replacement for Nuwan Thushara for INR 1.6 crore ahead of IPL 2026, made a sensational start to his The Hundred 2026 campaign with MI London, producing a match-winning spell against Sunrisers Leeds.

The 38-year-old England pacer was drafted into RCB's squad after Sri Lankan speedster Nuwan Thushara was unable to join the franchise, with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) refusing to grant him a No-Objection Certificate (NOC).

Now representing MI London (formerly Oval Invincibles), the defending champions of The Hundred, Gleeson showcased his class in the opening match of the 2026 season at The Kia Oval.
Leading MI London's pace attack, Gleeson ripped through the Sunrisers Leeds batting lineup, returning outstanding figures of 4/25. The veteran seamer struck at crucial moments whenever Sunrisers Leeds looked set to build a partnership. He also came within one delivery of a hat-trick after dismissing Zak Crawley and Benny Howell off successive ****** , putting the opposition under immense pressure.

His disciplined spell restricted Sunrisers Leeds to 143, laying the perfect platform for MI London's chase.
MI London's chase got off to the worst possible start as Brydon Carse produced a fiery opening spell, clocking speeds in excess of 90mph. The Sunrisers Leeds pacer removed Will Jacks and birthday boy Jason Roy cheaply, reducing the defending champions to 4/2. When Nathan Ellis bowled James Vince for 13, MI London found themselves in trouble at 51/3, with the momentum firmly in Sunrisers' favour.

However, the game turned completely after Nicholas Pooran walked to the crease. The West Indies star launched a breathtaking counterattack, smashing 58 off just 22 ****** *, including five fours and five sixes. He raced to his half-century in just 19 deliveries, registering the fastest fifty in MI London's history.

At the other end, captain Sam Curran played the perfect supporting role, remaining unbeaten on 60 off 39 ****** . The duo stitched together an unbroken 93-run partnership off only 40 deliveries, guiding MI London to 144/3 in 84 ****** and sealing a commanding seven-wicket victory with 16 ****** to spare to begin their ****** le defence in style.

As Kalen DeBoer took the stage at SEC Media Days on Wednesday, the uncertainty and countdown to Alabama's quarterback decision continued, with just over a month remaining until the Crimson Tide open the season.
Will DeBoer and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb turn to sophomore Keelon Russell, or will veteran Austin Mack be handed the reins of the offense as Ty Simpson's successor under center?
Nick Saban may have offered his choice on July 22 while appearing on the SEC Network's coverage of SEC Media Days in Tampa.

"I've watched this guy for two springs. He didn't play much in the fall. This guy is a talented guy who is a playmaker who can make plays, and whether he's ready to play now or not — obviously, the coaches have to determine that — he is going to be an outstanding player in the future," Saban said of Russell.

Every NFL season produces its share of breakout players. The difficult part isn't reaching that level once. It's staying there. Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun has officially moved beyond that conversation. Often, success is a matter of luck or even coincidence. Coaching still matters, and once Baun left the New Orleans Saints and aligned himself with Vic Fangio, everything changed.
Since joining the Eagles, Baun has gone from special teamer to a Super Bowl champion. He's a two-time Pro Bowler, a 2024 First-team All-Pro, and a Butkus Award winner.
After another outstanding campaign last season, Baun continues earning recognition from around the league. That reinforces what Eagles fans have watched unfold since his arrival. His emergence wasn't lightning in a bottle. It was the beginning of one of football's most remarkable career transformations.
Defensive coordinators spend an entire offseason studying tendencies. Opposing offenses adjust. Expectations change. Players who come out of nowhere one year often find themselves fighting to prove the following season wasn't a one-hit wonder.
Baun's league-wide approval seems unanimous. He can play at the line of scrimmage, blitz, or play coverage. That versatility has become one of the defining characteristics of his game.

Why did Morgan Rogers choose Chelsea over ***** nal? How Xabi Alonso phone call helped broker record transfer originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Chelsea completed a considerable transfer coup by signing Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a £117m transfer fee on Tuesday.
Rogers was one of the outstanding players in the Premier League last season, scoring 10 goals and supplying six ***** ists from an attacking midfield role.
The 23-year-old, who went on to represent England at the 2026 World Cup, was also integral to Villa's Europa League triumph, scoring his third goal of the competition in the 3-0 final victory against Freiburg.
That success would have punched Villa's Champions League ticket, had they not secured a second top-four finish in the past three seasons in any case. It's a tale of success in stark contrast to Chelsea's shambolic 2025/26, where they dismissed head coaches Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior, lost the FA Cup final and finished 10th in the Premier League.

Chelsea have completed the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa in a club-record deal reportedly worth £117m, reinforcing Xabi Alonso's squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
The 23-year-old has agreed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge after emerging as one of the Premier League's brightest attacking talents during his time at Villa. The fee surpasses the £115m Chelsea paid for Moisés Caicedo in 2023 and is also a record transfer for a British player.

Shares of Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) have jumped by more than 7x over the past year, driven by phenomenal growth in the company's revenue and earnings.
However, Micron stock has fallen out of favor with investors lately. It has pulled back 29% since hitting a 52-week high on June 25. This sharp drop is unrelated to the company's financial performance, as it continues to benefit from the ongoing memory shortage. Investors, however, have been rotating out of memory stocks lately, which explains the drop in Micron's shares.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
As a result, it won't be surprising to see Micron management going for a stock split this year. Let's see why that may be the case.
A stock split is a cosmetic move that increases or decreases the number of outstanding shares of a company while keeping the market capitalization constant. A forward stock split is the most common type of stock split, increasing the outstanding share count and lowering the price per share.

Sanju Samson has revealed how Rohit Sharma's reassuring words during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 initially failed to convince him after being left out of India's playing XI in the latter stages of the tournament. However, the wicketkeeper-batter eventually rediscovered his confidence and responded with one of the defining knocks of India's campaign against the West Indies.

After Samson endured a disappointing five-match T20I series against New Zealand heading into the World Cup, Rohit made it clear that the Kerala batter still had an important role to play in India's campaign.

"Dukhi mat ho bhai. It is a long tournament, kabhi bhi mauka aa sakta hai." ("Don't be disheartened, brother. It is a long tournament. You'll get your chance. The opportunity can come anytime,") Rohit had told Samson while embracing him.
Reflecting on that difficult phase, Samson admitted he was too disappointed to believe his captain's words at the time.

"To be honest, I didn't believe him at that time. Sorry. He might have spoken from his heart or from his experience, but that day I wasn't able to see what he was seeing. You could see it on my face; I was a bit off that day," Samson told JioStar.

The Kerala batter said the disappointment lingered even after India's World Cup campaign began, making it difficult for him to move on immediately.

"Our World Cup campaign started two days after the New Zealand series, and it takes me at least a week to recover. I don't like to bottle things up, so it shows on my face if I'm not feeling 100 per cent. I went through that phase for four or five days before getting myself back on track," he added.
Samson said the setback eventually turned into an opportunity for self-reflection, helping him reconnect with his purpose as a cricketer.

"You know you've failed, so what's next? You're at the bottom, so from there, you can only go up. I started working on myself mentally. I started asking myself questions, why do I play cricket? What's my purpose? It was like I was rediscovering myself while the World Cup was going on. And then everything just came back," Samson said.
Sanju Samson scripted one of the greatest redemption stories in T20 World Cup history, finishing as the Player of the Tournament as India lifted the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup on home soil. After initially missing out on the playing XI following a lean run of form, Samson fought his way back into the side and ended the tournament as India's highest run-scorer and the third-highest overall, amassing 321 runs in just five matches at an outstanding average of 80.25 and a blistering strike rate of 199.37. He also smashed a tournament-record 24 sixes, the most by any batter in a single T20 World Cup edition.
