Exchanges liquidated $403.58 million in leveraged crypto longs within one hour as Bitcoin (BTC) slid to about $83,800. That equals about 0.27% of open interest, the total value of unsettled futures contracts.
Longs made up 97% of the $415.33 million total, so the flush hit one side of the market. However, it cleared only a small fraction of the leverage still outstanding.
The selling arrived in one burst. CoinGlass, a derivatives data tracker, logged 98% of the $412.99 million in four-hour long liquidations inside the final hour.
Over 24 hours, longs made up $487.02 million of $554.76 million in liquidations. That hour alone holds about 83% of the day's long total.
By comparison, the 10th-largest event on CoinGlass's all-time list reached $2.77 billion, about five times the 24-hour total.

Serve Robotics (SERV) shares have tumbled roughly 20% since the autonomous delivery company lowered its 2026 revenue guidance on Aug. 6. The cut came despite quarterly revenue surging 404% year-over-year (YOY). Serve Robotics also said it may not renew its foundational partnership with Uber (UBER) after it expires in early 2027. The development follows Serve's first decline in Uber Eats delivery volume in 17 consecutive quarters. However, Serve has $240 million in cash and is intentionally expanding into DoorDash (DASH), healthcare robotics, and advertising. The debate now is whether the reset reflects deeper trouble or a strategic effort to diversify beyond a weakening partnership.
Investors should also look closely at the short interest number when it comes to SERV stock. Serve Robotics has a short percentage of float of 31.3%. That's an extremely high number for any company but also brings with it an opportunity — namely, a potential short squeeze. For that to happen, though, there needs to be some retail interest in SERV stock.

Shares of the artificial intelligence cloud provider Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) slid this morning after a report over the weekend showed that co-founder Larry Ellison was abandoning plans to sell up to $7.5 billion worth of Oracle stock.
That sort of news would typically cause a share price rally, but Ellison's move came as investors sold some AI stocks today, amid calls from Anthropic and OpenAI for more artificial intelligence regulation.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Adding to investor pessimism today is the growing belief among investors that the Federal Reserve may hike rates at its next meeting. That could make Oracle's current AI spending even more expensive than it already is.
Oracle stock was down by 4.5% as of 11:04 am ET.

A housing market crash happens when home values plummet due to a lack of demand for or an oversupply of homes. The factors leading to a housing market crash are varied, ranging from economic recessions to high mortgage rates that make it less affordable to buy a home. A housing crash can have upsides (low home prices) and downsides (losing built-up equity and tighter finances).

In Roads to Retirement: Act I – The Journey Begins, Jeff Snyder sets the stage for a thoughtful exploration of what retirement really means by introducing two people whose lives could not look more different. One is an artist in Marin who has chosen a simple, creative life living on a sailboat and staying grounded in what matters most. The other is a Northern California firefighter working hard to build stability and opportunity for his growing family.
Jeffrey Snyder, Broadcast Retirement Network
Hello everyone, I'm Jeff Snyder. I've devoted over two decades of my life helping Americans across this country save and plan for their financial future. I'm starting out on a journey to educate Americans and help get people in this country saving.
Join me as we go on the roads to retirement. Marin County is one of the top five richest counties in the United States, but it's also home to artists, shipbuilders, and tax-free, anchor-out citizens who avoid rent by settling in the open waters of Richardson Bay. Sean here pays his rent and makes a decent home of his 25-foot shoreliner with his loyal first mate and unassuming guard dog, Oscar.
It's really a beautiful location you live at. This marina is wonderful, real serene, quiet.

Investors are awaiting the fourth-quarter earnings release of cybersecurity firm Zscaler (ZS), which is scheduled for Sept. 3, after the market closes. Ahead of that, investors have lifted the company's stock, expecting the earnings to provide tailwinds.
Cybersecurity spending is expected to be a priority in this era of artificial intelligence (AI). Recently, a series of AI hacking incidents brought the importance of cybersecurity to the forefront. Therefore, there's a chance that while chips and data centers were the biggest beneficiaries of the first wave of the AI boom, cybersecurity could steal that spot in the next wave and experience a spending boom.

Delta Air Lines is betting big on artificial intelligence (AI) — and the technology could eventually change not just how the airline operates, but how much passengers pay to fly.
In a recent discussion, Delta CEO Ed Bastian said AI could ultimately improve the airline's profitability by as much as 50%, largely by helping the company make faster, smarter decisions and reduce costs. Bastian described the opportunity as potentially moving Delta's profit margin from around 10% to 15%, which would amount to billions of dollars.

Wall Street has spent the last week absorbing Nvidia's (NVDA) plan to arrange half a trillion dollars of other people's money, and the sharpest objection came from someone who was explicitly trying to argue the other side. Asked on the All-In podcast published Aug. 14 where the arrangement could break, David Sacks, while still an overall bull on AI and similar, is acutely aware of the risks of the massive, multi-trillion-dollar AI buildout, saying, "The biggest risk to me is not on the demand side," he said. "The biggest risk is that you get a glut of compute and you get an overbuild. And in the same way that we had dark fiber after the dotcom crash, if you had dark GPUs, that'd be a disaster for everyone."
On Aug. 10, Nvidia said it had signed memorandums of understanding with Apollo (APO), BlackRock (BLK), Blackstone (BX), Brookfield (BN), Goldman Sachs (GS), and KKR (KKR) to establish independent compute financing platforms to "mobilize over $500 billion of third-party capital for the buildout of AI infrastructure over time." The release adds that the partnerships "remain subject to execution of the final agreements." Meaning, that figure is an aspiration, not raised money, not committed money, and not Nvidia revenue. Several outlets blurred the distinction.

Crossroads Capital LLC, an investment management firm, published its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The Fund increased by 11.5% net of fees and expenses during the quarter. Since its founding, the fund has compounded at a net rate of 17.9%. By the end of June 2026, the fund's overall non-delta-adjusted gross and net exposures were 115.0% and 86.9%, respectively. In Q2, the S&P 500 rebounded 14.9%, its best since 2020, as market uncertainty eased. The oil market showed a transition, with Brent crude prices fluctuating. AI and semiconductors thrived, with 25% earnings growth. The quarter underscored a key principle: risk is priced continuously but resolved discontinuously. Small-cap benchmarks hit new highs, though the Magnificent 7 saw modest gains. In Q2, market activity focused on adjustments rather than facts, capitalizing on high option premiums. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Crossroads Capital highlighted AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS). AST ***** eMobile, Inc. Crossroads Capital stated the following regarding AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"AST ***** eMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS): Q2 picked up exactly where Q1 left off. As we've stated before, the transition we laid out last quarter—from R&D stage startup to operational scaleup—went from "underway" to "unmistakable" over the last three months. It charged us a toll along the way, however: The BB7 satellite launched on April 19 but was then lost when Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket failed during deployment. The failure was cleanly attributable to Blue Origin, not to AST; it amounted to a ~$125 million write-off (partially covered by launch insurance, and claims have been filed). AST's response on the May call was the right one, citing its 33 satellites (now 42, as of this writing) in advanced stages of production. So, yes, BB7 was a loss, but it's moving on to the next launch.
First-quarter results in May landed with modest revenue from gateways and government milestones, guidance reaffirmed, and. roughly $3.5B of cash. More important, the FCC granted commercial authorization for ***** eMobile service in the United States, covering a network of up to 248 satellites. So the regulatory question for the home market is now answered. Block 1 satellites also set a 98.9 Mbps peak-speed record to unmodified smartphones, with Block 2 expected to nearly double it..."

One of my favorite things about writing for Barchart is sharing my decades of experience using exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in investment portfolios. Stock-pickers are everywhere. But as the markets continue to merge into one massive risk-on, risk-off trade, it gets tougher to identify ETFs that truly are unique enough to matter.
I can point to 100 ETFs that essentially move up and down with the broad stock market but have different names to make us think they are different. So when I do identify one I think can be useful in accentuating something going on in a stock market segment, I try to point it out here.

Constellation Energy (CEG) is turning its nuclear fleet into something rare in the power business. It has locked in decades of demand ahead of time. On its latest earnings call, the company said most of its generation output is now contracted through 2050 and beyond. For a sector where revenue usually swings with volatile wholesale prices, that kind of visibility is almost unheard of. It also comes at a time when artificial intelligence is driving the steepest jump in electricity demand in a generation.
The second quarter showed the strategy in motion. Constellation signed 920 megawatts of new long-term nuclear power agreements. These contracts run 15 to 20 years and start delivering power between 2029 and 2032. Among them is a 176-megawatt Walmart (WMT) deal, split across two 15-year contracts, that will help fund an expansion at the Dresden plant in Illinois. These sit on top of earlier 20-year agreements with Microsoft (MSFT) and Meta (META), tying some of the world's largest firms to Constellation's output well into the 2040s.

Our ****** ysts just identified a stock with the potential to be the next Nvidia. Tell us how you invest and we'll show you why it's our #1 pick. Tap here.
This is the fashion turnaround equivalent of just losing weight and calling it fitness. Hugo Boss sold a lot less clothing last quarter and made more money on each piece it did sell, which is a genuine accomplishment and also precisely what a company says when it has stopped growing.
Second-quarter EBIT was €59 million, down from €81 million a year ago, against the €52 million ****** ysts had penciled in. Currency-adjusted sales fell 9% to €905 million, about where everyone expected them.
EMEA is the problem. Sales there fell 13% to €532 million, soft demand in Germany, the UK and France running into thinner store traffic across the Middle East. The Americas were down 1%. Asia-Pacific fell 5%.
Nearly everything else in the release read better. Gross margin rose 200 basis points to 64.9% on sourcing efficiencies, firmer pricing and more full-price selling. Operating expenses came down 4%. Free cash flow before leases was €105 million. Inventories ended the quarter 15% lower than a year ago, which for an apparel company is the number that tells you whether management has its hands on the wheel.

Aug 4 (Reuters) - Pfizer on Tuesday slightly raised the lower end of its full-year revenue forecast after beating Wall Street estimates for second-quarter profit, driven by strong demand for blood thinner Eliquis.
Shares rose 1.8% to $25.5 in premarket trading.
Pfizer is banking on newer medicines to offset fading COVID revenue and reduce reliance on aging blockbuster drugs, while investors look for signs that its $10 billion purchase of Metsera can help establish a meaningful presence in the fast-growing obesity market.
The drugmaker, whose shares have fallen more than 50% from their pandemic-era peak, expects to return to stronger growth after 2028.
The U.S. drugmaker now expects annual sales of $60.5 billion to $62.5 billion, up from $59.5 billion to $62.5 billion forecast previously.

Social Security calculates benefits from your 35 highest-earning years, so a lower-wage job can't reduce a benefit already built on decades of tech salaries.
Claiming at 62 instead of 67 permanently cuts a $3,200 monthly benefit by roughly $960, while waiting until 70 pushes it to nearly $3,970.
Mark's pharmacy-tech paycheck serves as a bridge to delay claiming, while lower taxable income creates room for Roth conversions at reduced tax brackets.

Seattle's job market is silently rewriting itself. Over the past month, truck-driver postings in the region spiked 231% and security-guard openings jumped 146%, while software-engineer openings suffered the steepest drop, down 56%, according to KUOW reporting on data from the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County. Nearly three-quarters of the 7,453 workers laid off in H1 2026 were in the information sector, and Washington state's tech layoffs now rank second highest in the country.

The memory chip giant is on a tear, but its real value for your portfolio lies in how it moves on its own.
Micron Technology (MU) stock has been one of the S&P 500's strongest performers over the last week, climbing 4.8% while the index barely budged with a 0.5% gain. This run follows a period where the company announced record quarterly results and an even stronger outlook for the coming quarter.
When a stock puts up numbers like that, the instinct is simple: get in before you miss more. The urge to chase a winner is powerful, especially when the market feels flat, and one name is clearly breaking away from the pack.
But the question that actually builds wealth isn't about where Micron goes next week. It's about what owning it does to your portfolio today. How much of its return is a genuinely different story from the S&P 500 index fund you likely already own, and how does it change your overall risk?
Over the last five years, Micron's stock has had a correlation of 0.58 with the S&P 500. That number tells you it's neither a perfect market mirror nor a complete counterweight. It shares some of the market's general direction while retaining behavior of its own, driven by its own business cycle.

Preformed Line Products Company (NASDAQ:PLPC) was among Jim Cramer's stock calls on Mad Money, as he advised investors to stick with the largest tech companies in the market. Cramer was bullish on the stock during the episode, as he stated:
After decades where software was in charge, now it's all about setting up massive buildings, filling them with tech, and even building new power plants to supply them with electricity. That's how something like a Caterpillar's become a big AI winner, and it's why Preformed Line Products keeps winning. In its latest quarter, the company delivered a monster earnings beat… Look, the electric grid hasn't grown much in this country in the last couple of decades, but now there's a colossal amount of spending to make the grid much faster and more powerful… I think PLPC is a great derivative play on the market's biggest theme. I think you're getting a nice entry point here given the recent pullback. Sure, it's doubled over the last year, but I don't think it's crazy anymore to buy a stock like Preformed at 35 times earnings in this data center-obsessed market.
So here's the bottom line… Preformed Line Products Company is a small but critical part of the AI build-out. If you believe in this story and you believe the company can earn nearly $13 per share in 2028, which is what the **** ysts are projecting, then you've got my blessing to put a position on right here. Now, look, ideally, the stock would pull back a little bit more… Because I don't see the data center build-out slowing down anytime soon. But the stock has already pulled back. I say you're getting it at a much better level than I thought you'd get anytime soon.

BEIJING, July 14 (Reuters) - China's exports surged in June, buoyed by orders for chips to fuel the global AI boom and automobiles, deepening producers' reliance on overseas buyers as policymakers in the world's No. 2 economy continue to grapple with how to boost demand at home.
The stronger-than-expected trade performance keeps China on track to post a surplus topping $1 trillion for a second straight year, with factories sustaining sales despite slowing growth in major economies and trade frictions with Washington.
Exports climbed 27% from a year earlier in U.S. dollar value terms, customs data showed on Tuesday, their best performance in four months, outpacing the 19.4% gain in May and an 18.2% rise forecast by economists.
Imports jumped 36%, compared with a 27.4% gain the month before, a five-year high. Economists had forecast growth of 24% for June.
