Of routes run in Week 1 for Dalton Kincaid, higher than any mark in 2025. This is good for most TEs, but incredible and notable for Kincaid. As a first-round TE talent, Kincaid has been limited throughout his career due to run blocking and injuries. Last season before his knee injury, he was right at 60% of the routes, good enough to be a mid-level TE1, although not ideal. After the injury, it dropped to 44%. If a ~70% route share holds, Kincaid can be the TE value of the year. His yards per route were top-three in the NFL (not just TE) and he is a part of one of the best offenses in the league. He had a nice start to the season with 130 receiving yards against the Texans defense.
The RB target split for Bucky Irving compared to Kenny Gainwell in Week 1 (and would've been eight without penalties). Gainwell was a backup RB that wasn't a focus of the offense, with only 18% of snaps resulting in a touch (Irving: 47%). Not to mention, Irving got both red-zone carries, one resulting in a touchdown. Sean Tucker is still out for now, but Irving looks to be a workhorse RB with elite receiving potential.
Gold opportunities for Chuba Hubbard: two red-zone targets and a goal-line attempt. They're the best opportunities for a touchdown for a RB, and it resulted in two here. Chicago's defense may need some help, but the workload should keep him as a weekly play as long as he holds off Jonathon Brooks. With 71% of the RB touches, anybody can have value. Before his injury last season, Hubbard began the 2025 season with nearly 20 touches per game over the first few weeks. I trust the stability of his volume going into Week 2 as a central role of the red-zone offense.

Saffie Osborne became the first female jockey to win a British Classic horse race while riding Highwayman in the St Leger on Saturday.
Highwayman, trained by Joseph O'Brien, was priced 11-1 and finished ahead of Enceladus and Amelia Earhart.
"I didn't have this on the bingo card for this week," Osborne told ITV Racing. "I didn't have a ride in the race on Monday morning, let alone one with a chance, and I can't thank so many people enough."
The St Leger, in its 250th year, is the world's oldest Classic. Osborne's historic moment follows Rachael Blackmore, who was the first female jockey to win the Grand National in 2021.
Osborne was handed the spare ride on Highwayman as reward for an impressive season. She moved into contention as the runners entered the long Doncaster straight.

A horse named Coach Pope, after Kentucky basketball head coach Mark Pope, picked up his first win in a Maiden Special Weight race at Churchill Downs during the first weekend of the track's September Meet.
The 2-year-old colt, who entered the race as a 1/1 favorite, pulled away to win by 1½ lengths. Coach Pope completed the one-mile race on a fast track in 1:35.77.
Ridden by Jose Ortiz — who won the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes aboard Golden Tempo, as well as the Kentucky Oaks with Always a Runner — Coach Pope broke well and raced close before breaking away after the final turn, passing Fullback and Justification.

SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazilian presidential candidate Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro is under investigation for corruption, money laundering and tax evasion for receiving millions of dollars from a disgraced banker to finance a movie about his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro.
Brazil's top court unsealed several documents late Thursday that show Sen. Bolsonaro, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's primary opponent, is under investigation for receiving 61 million reais ($12 million) from a banker at the center of a corruption scandal to produce an unreleased movie ******* led "The Dark Horse."
The investigation, which centers on whether the Bolsonaro family misused the funds and whether the payments were properly reported to Brazilian authorities, threatens to undermine Sen. Bolsonaro's bid for the presidency. The first round of elections is slated for Oct. 4, and the senator is locked in a tight race with Lula.
The banker, Daniel Vorcaro, who was arrested in March, is accused of defrauding many of Banco Master's 800,000 clients, including several state government pension funds, out of hundreds of millions of dollars by convincing them to make questionable investments. The scandal has engulfed several high-ranking officials in Brazil.
The allegations first became public in May. Sen. Bolsonaro has denied any wrongdoing and said Friday during a campaign event in the Amazonian city of Manaus that he was seeking private investment for the movie.

Regular readers know that I've followed one of the great Cy Young horse races in recent memory, with Cam Schlittler going great start-for-great start with the Blue Jays' Dylan Cease. We got a little bit of separation this week, as the Athletics touched up Cease for four runs in five innings on Monday, and then Schlittler allowed just a solo shot in seven frames against the Rockies on Tuesday. Cam has crept just ahead by fWAR, enjoys a considerable lead in bWAR, and right now I think would end up at the top of most voters' ballots.
But something struck me in the aftermath of Cam's night against Colorado, the same night that Aaron Judge returned to the lineup. Cam Schlittler isn't just the Cy Young favorite, but he's built himself an MVP case. No pitcher has won the award since Clayton Kershaw for the 2014 Dodgers, and the last AL winner was 2011 Justin Verlander. Yordan Alvarez is in the hunt for the first Triple Crown since Miguel Cabrera, Bobby Witt Jr. is probably the best overall player in the league, and if Junior Caminero tops the AL in home runs and plays on the Junior Circuit's best team, he probably gets his share of votes too.
And yet here's the thing: Cam stacks up fairly against all three of them!
Let's take Yordan, who I think has the inside track on the award right now. Schlittler's 0.1 fWAR back, a difference that is literally negligible, and more than three-quarters of a win better by bWAR. Alvarez's candidacy is based around the Triple Crown, probably being the best hitter in baseball, and dragging what we thought was a finally-deflated Houston Astros team to a division ****** le. ****** py AL West or not, that is exactly the blueprint for an MVP, if one for a slightly older voter.
Should Alvarez not win the Triple Crown, he loses a bit of his case, though he's likely still the best hitter in the game on a division winner, one who will have played in the neighborhood of 155 games. That's the big thing both undercutting Witt's MVP claim while bolstering his position as best all-around player — the Kansas City shortstop has only played 128 games at time of writing, yet leads the league in fWAR and bWAR among position players. With a solid-but-not-spectacular 18 homers and 124 wRC+, the parts of his game beyond hitting are doing the heavy lifting there as well. All that and the fact that the Royals are so bad work against him when it comes to end of season awards though, and Bobby seems cursed to be the Dave Stieb of shortstops.

This one couldn't have gone much worse.
Dylan Beavers homered on the second pitch of the game.
Then, in the bottom of the first, the Jays had two on and one out, and Vladimir Guerrero was picked off first—just bad baseball. With a runner on second, he wasn't going anywhere. It looked like the Orioles put a play on: pitch low and outside to the right-handed-hitting Alejandro Kirk and catch Samuel Basallo throws straight to first. Vlad was out, and it wasn't close.
The second inning was even worse. The Orioles started the inning with four straight singles (2-0). Then a double (4-0). And another single (6-0). After that, Max Scherzer got the next 12 outs without giving up a hit. Barn doors and horse.

The tiresome ongoing saga with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua may be nearing a conclusion, with a fight actually happening.
Gareth A Davies is reporting that Cardiff is the new "leading contender" to host the bout on December 4 or 11, provided officials in the Welsh city sign off on an extended curfew, which had become a major issue for the originally agreed location, London's Wembley Stadium.
As you've surely heard by now, Turki Alalshikh — whose backing is paying for the massively expensive, long-overdue showdown — and Netflix have wanted the fight at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Matchroom/Joshua side had balked at this, having signed to fight in the UK.
The latest word is that Cardiff, which was always sort of a darkhorse contender to host the fight, is the new frontrunner, and we may actually get this deal done and see the fight happen. Principality Stadium has a roof, so weather won't be a concern for the fight itself.
Joshua (30-4, 27 KO) has fought at the venue before, beating Carlos Takam there in 2017 and Joseph Parker in 2018. He's 3-0 in Cardiff as a pro, having also defeated Dorian Darch at Cardiff International Arena in 2014. Fury (36-2-1, 25 KO) has never fought in Cardiff, but has stated repeatedly during the drama around this fight that he was willing to go anywhere.

Arizona can start to build a convincing case as a Big 12 dark horse on Saturday in Provo, Utah, where it will take on No. 15 BYU. Aiming for a Week 2 upset, the Wildcats will reportedly have two familiar faces joining them on that quest.
The team is formally adding running back Ismail Mahdi and linebacker Max Harris — both of whom were starters on Arizona's 2025 squad — ahead of Saturday's conference tilt, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported on Friday.
Mahdi, the team's leading rusher a season ago, and Harris, the team's third-leading tackler last go-around, have been cleared for competition and are part of the traveling roster, per Thamel.
They are part of a group of athletes who were recently granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA in Pima County Superior Court. So was kicker/punter Sullivan Moon, a transfer whom Arizona also added to the roster, per Thamel. Moon, though, reportedly won't be at BYU for Saturday's game.

The opener for Oregon Football at Autzen Stadium was an interesting one, as an electric go-ahead touchdown from Moore to Moore sealed the deal late in the game.
Many felt it shouldn't have come down to that, and they have a point.
Now granted, Boise State has been and is a dog of a program, a total workhorse. You're not going to catch the Broncos sleeping, as Oregon knows only too well.
That being said, the talent disparity is real. Boise, as determined as they may be, simply cannot match up with Oregon skill-wise position by position.
Knowing that, perhaps Oregon was a bit overconfident? They certainly didn't need to help the Broncos out as much as they did.

The Jockey Club Gold Cup, which will headline next Friday's reopening day card at Belmont Park, has reportedly lost one of its biggest stars.
Daily Racing Form's David Grening reported Friday that 2025 Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes and Travers winner Sovereignty, who was targeting the Gold Cup coming off of his win in the Whitney last month at Saratoga, has officially been ruled out of the Grade 1, $1 million race.
Sovereignty developed an abscess in his left hind foot a little more than a week ago, which forced the reigning Horse of the Year to miss two planned workouts. Grening reported that trainer Bill Mott hopes to have Sovereignty return to the track by the middle of next week and plans to attempt to train the 4-year-old colt up to the Oct. 31 Breeders' Cup Classic, rather than having him race beforehand.
The absence of Sovereignty means the Jockey Club Gold Cup will no longer feature one of the most anticipated head-to-head horse racing matchups of the year.

Aaron Rodgers has sparked backlash over comments made about his previous relationships.
Appearing on his teammate Cam Heyward's podcast Not Just Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback aired out some dirty laundry pertaining to his relationships with exes Shailene Woodley and Danica Patrick.
Rodgers dated former Nascar driver Patrick from 2018 to 2020, and then actor Woodley from 2020 to 2022. The latter relationship ended in a called off engagement. He is now married to a woman named Brittani, though further details about her and their relationship are unclear.
The controversial NFL player's comments began when he was asked the question: "What do most people get wrong about you?" Instead of offering up a personal anecdote, he launched into verbal tirades against his exes.

Steven Spielberg may soon say goodbye to his equestrian ranch in Los Angeles.
Closer has learned that the famed Hollywood filmmaker, 79, has listed his seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom property for just under $30 million after purchasing the ranch back in 1999 for $5.35 million.
The 6,219-square-foot property was at the center of controversy shortly after he and wife Kate Capshaw made the purchase because the director wanted to build a five-story horse-riding ring despite pushback from their Brentwood neighbors.
"It's just astounding and obnoxious," land-use attorney John Murdock, who represented several residents at the time, told the ***** ociated Press in 2000. "They're cutting out half the hillside to put in this riding ring … the structure is completely alien to the area."
The riding ring was intended to be a 27,000-square-foot building that would've been about six times the size of a typical home in the area and cost more than $7 million to build, according to the AP.

Winning the program's first state championship in 2025 - in his first season no less - hasn't affected St. Ignatius football coach JaJuan Lawson or his Wildcats one bit. Despite losing 38 seniors to graduation, including eight All-West Catholic Athletic League performers, St. Ignatius has been perhaps the most impressive team in the WCAL through two weeks. The Wildcats have recorded back-to-back identical 42-7 wins over two-time North Bay state champions San Marin-Novato and Marin Catholic-Kentfield.
Senior running back Luke Tribolet has been a workhorse with 34 carries for 208 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Isaac Liu has been terrific with 23 completions in 32 pass attempts for 350 yards and five touchdowns, three to junior Davion Moffett.
The defense has exceeded all expectations, led by junior linebacker Jack Riedy (12 tackles) and sophomore defensive back Casey Nelson (two interceptions, two caused fumbles, two recoveries).
"I don't think winning a state ***** le created any extra pressure on these kids," Lawson said. "We play in the most difficult league in Northern California. We're trying to get back to the top of the league honestly and that's what drives us. … New group, new goals."
The new goal is getting some revenge on Friday night and to beat one of the best teams in Northern California when the Wildcats visit Acalanes-Lafayette (2-0). One of the bigger question marks entering Detroit Red Wings training camp is seemingly answered − for now, at least.
Defenseman Simon Edvinsson, a restricted free agent, intends to report to camp even if he doesn't have a new deal, according to a report from The Athletic hockey insider Pierre LeBrun. LeBrun goes on to say Edvinsson is "patiently waiting for the Red Wings GM situation to iron itself out before resuming negotiations."
Edvinsson had 25 points (nine goals) in 72 games played this past season and finished with a plus-12.
Edvinsson should see a huge payday. Bowen Byram, the No. 4 overall pick from 2019, just received an extension from the Blackhawks with a hefty $12.5 million cap hit. The Wings can ill afford Edvinsson (No. 6 pick in 2021) to be on the sidelines awaiting a new contract when their season begins, as he is one of their top workhorses.
But who will hammer out that deal? That still remains to be seen, as the Red Wings are about a week away from the start camp (Sept. 17) and they still do not have a general manager. Steve Yzerman parted ways from the position on July 15, moving into a senior advisor role.

At this point in the season, the San Francisco Giants languishing near the bottom of the NL West and less than three weeks remaining during the season, Logan Webb could have opted to skip a start after some checkered outings.
He's consistently at or near the lead for MLB innings pitched, so a slightly early end to the season wouldn't be amiss for the team's workhorse. Instead, Webb came out with honed mechanics Monday and snapped back into his usual form in a game the Giants won 5-4 in 11 innings, with Shay Whitcomb's little bouncer to short sending in placed runner Nate Furman from third.
The ninth unraveled enough to cost Webb a win, though, with the Cardinals reaching on two infield singles to kick things off against Dylan Smith, working in his second inning. St. Louis then took the lead in the 10th when Leo Bernal's bloop to right off Jason Foley scored placed runner Alex Burleson.
But Bryce Eldridge was a busy man Monday night, and tied the game with a single in the bottom of the 10th inning. Foley held the Cardinals scoreless in the 11th with an ******* ist to Eldridge for a great scoop to end the game.
Webb gave up just three hits one run, on Burleson's two-out homer in the sixth, in what became Webb's final inning. His eight strikeouts matched his season high, and he got 19 swinging strikes, six of them with his sweeper. His pace was brisk working with veteran backup catcher Andrew Knizner. He's also more than comfortable at his longtime home; he has a 3.26 ERA at Oracle Park this season, against 5.29 on the road.

The NFL and the NFL Players ******* ociation have agreed to a new three-strike formula that will trigger automatic suspensions for repeated violations of five specific safety rules: hip-drop tackles, horse-collar tackles, launching, hits on defenseless players, and blindside blocks.
Per the NFLPA, the new procedure doesn't commence until the 2026 regular season. Which means that players who were fined for any of the five specific rules won't carry them into the games that count.
That's good news for any of the various players who were dinged for the infractions that otherwise would have counted toward a potential suspension.
It applies to Cardinals safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, who was fined $7,148 for a hit on a defenseless player in Week 2 of the preseason. And to Cardinals safety Wydett Williams, who was fined $4,935 for a hit on a defenseless player in the same game.
And to Bengals linebacker Shaka Heyward, who was fined $5,972 for a hip-drop tackle in Week 2 of the preseason. (He's currently on Cincinnati's practice squad.) And to Chiefs tight end Jake Briningstool, who was fined $4,972 in Week 2 of the preseason for a blindside block.

Britain's Gemma Stevens won the Burghley Horse Trials for the first time on Sunday, the biggest victory of her career on her 31st attempt at five-star level.
The 41-year-old Olympian, riding Chilli Knight, cemented victory in executing a faultless showjumping round to finish on her dressage score of 29.6 - the only rider in the field to do so.
Compatriot Katie Magee finished second on Treworra, with USA's Caroline Pamukcu and HSH Blake in third.
"It's only taken me 25 years and finally I've managed to win a big B [Burghley or Badminton]. I couldn't be more proud," Stevens said.
Stevens, who first competed at the level in 2007, previously rode Chilli Knight's mother, King's Gem.

A 4-year-old filly died earlier this week after competing in a stakes race at Saratoga Race Course, after the horse was found to have suffered a fracture that left her unable to put her full weight on her left hind leg.
According to the state Gaming Commission's Equine Death and Breakdown Database, Marvelous Madison, who was trained by Jorge Abreu, was returned to her barn after finishing fifth in the Yaddo Stakes over Saratoga's Mellon turf course on Aug. 30. In the barn, Marvelous Madison became "toe touching lame in the left hind leg," meaning the filly was hesitant to put her full weight on the affected leg.
According to the Gaming Commission database, further evaluation of Marvelous Madison "revealed a displaced fracture." Because of the "poor prognosis," the database states, Marvelous Madison was euthanized.
The 4-year-old Marvelous Madison ran seven times in her career, with four of those races - including both of her career victories - coming at Saratoga. Earlier this summer at Saratoga, she won an allowance race on July 26 in her first race since August 2025.
On the state database, Marvelous Madison's injury and death were listed as "other" in the description of the incident, rather than being specifically racing- or training-related.

Arizona football is back. The Wildcats took down NAU in their week 1 matchup 35-7. The defense was stout allowing zero points from NAU's offense. Northern Arizona got seven points from a pick-six off of the Wildcats' backup quarterback. Seth Doege's offense was sharp in the first half but slowed down in the second half.
Brent Brennan's group won the program's 5th straight season opener to make it to their ranked matchup with Kalani Sitake and the BYU Cougars healthy and undefeated.
The Wildcats' Heisman hopeful Noah Fifita played lights out again in this one. Fifita was 22 for 29 passing, threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns. Fifita had his first of many lasts this week as he played in his last home opener in Tucson.
"Noah Fifita is such a good player…Nothing he does surprises us." said head coach Brent Brennan after the win in his post game press-conference.
Fifita will need to be sharp again next week against BYU but if he performs at his usual level, Heisman hopeful could turn to Heisman dark horse.

On August 4, Archrock (NYSE:AROC) posted second-quarter results that told two different stories at once. Revenue slipped to $371.2 million from $383.2 million a year earlier, yet net income climbed to $66.7 million, and earnings per share rose to $0.38. That gap between a shrinking top line and a growing bottom line is the puzzle this quarter leaves investors to sort out.
The clearest bull signal came from a new long-term agreement with an existing strategic customer covering roughly 665,000 horsepower, structured with an eight-year base term and a two-year extension option. That kind of commitment locks in cash flow well into the next decade and reinforces management's multi-year growth capital expenditure guidance of $1.4 billion to $1.6 billion **** ulatively from 2027 through 2030. The core contract operations segment backed that confidence with real numbers. Revenue there rose 3% to $329.3 million, and adjusted gross margin improved to 71% from 70%, with period-end utilization at 94.4%.
The balance sheet also moved in the right direction. Archrock's leverage ratio fell to 2.6x as of June 30, down from 3.3x a year earlier, even after the company redeemed its entire $800 million of 6.250% senior notes due 2028 on April 1. The board kept rewarding shareholders through it all, declaring a quarterly dividend of $0.23 per share, about 10% higher than a year ago, marking the fifth increase in two years, with coverage still comfortable at 3.1x.
The softer parts of this quarter center on aftermarket services and forward guidance. That segment's revenue fell to $42.0 million from $64.8 million, as last year's non-recurring sales of overhauled engines did not repeat and maintenance demand skipped its usual mid-year seasonal **** p. Total operating horsepower also declined to 4.5 million from 4.7 million, partly from the sale of about 165,000 non-strategic units.
On the guidance front, Archrock tightened its full-year adjusted EBITDA range to $865 million to $885 million, down from a prior range of $865 million to $915 million, pointing to lube oil cost pressure, higher make-ready spending to reactivate idle equipment, and increased SG&A tied to stock-based incentive compensation. Adjusted net income actually dipped to $66.5 million and adjusted EPS to $0.38, both slightly below last year's $68.4 million and $0.39. Long-term debt still sits at $2.3 billion, and Archrock did not repurchase any shares during the quarter, leaving $113.2 million of buyback capacity untouched.

Rob Gronkowski has certainly shared a hot take for the 2026 NFL season, which has left Kay Adams amazed.
The former New England Patriots tight end has named the new Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray as his dark horse for the MVP award.
Considering Murray has spent three of the last four seasons finishing bottom of the NFC West with the Arizona Cardinals, this would certainly be some turnaround.
Kevin O'Connell named Murray as the starter for the Vikings over J.J. McCarthy following his offseason move to Minnesota earlier in the year.
What the expectations of Murray should be still remain a mystery to most, but Gronk clearly believes he has the ability to enjoy a special season with the Vikings.
