After wearing Bottega Veneta for both her arrival and this morning's photocall, we had a feeling Claire would stay with the house for the premiere. And she did, wearing a red Bottega Veneta gown with Swarovski jewellery.
Let's start with the positives. I love the colour. Red was a bold choice for the opening night of the festival, and I also like the idea behind the knotted detail at the waist, which should have defined the silhouette. But the execution really lets this down.
Dare I say, it looks a little sloppy. This would have worked better had the bodice been more fitted through the waist, as the excess fabric bunching above the knot makes the dress look like two separate pieces.

The Venice Film Festival is officially underway, with the first photocalls of the festival taking place today.

Hands up if you knew this was coming. I certainly did. The first look from jury president Maggie Gyllenhaal was always likely to be a) a suit and b) black.
And I don't begrudge her either choice. A black The Row suit makes sense for her first official photocall as president of the jury, and this feels entirely in keeping with Maggie's style and her role at the festival. The tailoring is clean, with the velvet collar and cuffs providing the only contrast.
The only thing I would change is the trouser length. There is too much fabric pooling around her shoes, which takes away from the otherwise sharp tailoring.

We've established the patterns of this press tour pretty quickly. Maisie Williams looks set to continue paying homage to Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman is staying loyal to Chanel, and Joey appears committed to Miu Miu – specifically, see-through Miu Miu.
Because much like last night, Joey really wants us to see her underwear, and that was achieved once again with this lace Miu Miu top and skirt from the Spring 2026 collection.
There are elements I prefer here compared to the runway. Removing the layers at the neckline and waist gives the lace more room to register, while the floor-length skirt works better for a the mood of this photocall. But even with those changes, I'm still missing Joey's old style.

Wearing her second Chanel look of the press tour, Nicole kept things considerably simpler in this black LBD.
The pearl straps are the defining detail, and one that immediately connects the dress to the house. Pearls have been part of the Chanel vocabulary since Coco Chanel began layering ropes of faux pearls with her clothes in the 1920s, and they remain one of the label's most recognisable signatures. Here, they give an otherwise straightforward black dress its Chanel identity.
And then we come to the shoes. You know Chanel footwear and I don't always see eye to eye, but I have no complaints about these two-tone slingbacks as they give the simple LBD the graphic punch it needed.

You weren't as sold as I was on her leopard-print Givenchy look. Sandra may have a mild-mannered demeanour, but she has never been afraid to make a bold and big statement. Are we forgetting The Lost City London premiere, its Los Angeles premiere, the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards or the Ocean's 8 world premiere?
Those who weren't convinced by the leopard print will probably prefer this Erdem Resort 2027 look. The black blazer, white asymmetric skirt and lace detailing offer a softer route into the film's witchy world, with the dark romanticism coming through the monochrome palette and black lace.
I love how the lace breaks up the monochrome layers, while the white neck scarf adds another point of interest. Smart but not overly formal, this is more subdued than her premiere look.

Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Oscar-nominated actor Antonio Banderas will be honored at the 2026 Premios Juventud.
Banderas, 66, known for Desperado, The Mask of Zorro, Pain and Glory and other films, will receive the Agent of Change award for his "impact on education, social action, and community development," according to a press release.
The actor's charity work includes establishing the Lagrimas y Favores Foundation in Malaga, Spain, which benefits the University of Malaga, CUDECA, AECC, Caritas, Fundacion El Pimpi, Economato Social Corinto and other organizations.

Paired with the loose-fitting jeans, the whole thing feels scruffy to me. I understand the relaxed approach for a photocall, but the top needed a much better fit to make this work.

Anya wore a pale blue and black lace dress from the collection, having previously chosen the longer black version of the design for the Marrakech International Film Festival closing ceremony back in December. I actually like this shorter interpretation. It feels fresh, light and perfectly suited to today's soaring temperatures.

Law Roach's encyclopaedic knowledge of fashion history was evident here, because it's easy to imagine that, the moment he learned the photocall would take place at the Trocadéro, Philip Treacy's extraordinary gold lace headpiece, first worn by Debra Shaw on the Givenchy Spring 1997 Haute Couture runway, immediately came to mind.
That became the starting point for Zendaya's latest press tour look.
She wore the collection's white tailored dress, designed by Alexander McQueen, featuring razor-sharp tailoring, a sculptural silhouette and oversized detachable cuffs, creating one of the most memorable couture moments from McQueen's early tenure at the house.
While Greek mythology has naturally inspired much of Zendaya's wardrobe throughout The Odyssey press tour, I love that this look proves a goddess reference doesn't always have to rely on flowing drapery or overt Grecian cues. Instead, the styling took a more regal, ceremonial approach, with Treacy's dramatic headpiece transforming the look into something almost mythical against the Paris skyline.

Up until now, this press tour has been dominated by black, leading many to speculate that the darker palette might be signalling a closing chapter for the franchise. With Zendaya and Law Roach, very little ever feels accidental, so naturally every look has invited interpretation.
Today, however, the actress stepped out wearing a Gianni Versace Fall/Winter 1997 Swarovski ensemble sourced from Rebe Archive, and it is easily the clearest visual reference to the Spider-Man franchise that we have seen during this tour.
That is not to say that I have not enjoyed the press tour so far. I have loved decoding the darker looks and searching for the smaller references embedded within them. But seeing the familiar red-and-blue palette finally appear feels especially satisfying after several appearances that deliberately avoided the obvious.
