Silver prices could be approaching their final low, according to veteran trader Peter Brandt. However, he expects any subsequent recovery to be gradual rather than explosive.
The precious metal traded at $53.18 per ounce on Thursday, up 1.76% on the day. That still leaves it about 56% below its January record of $121.74.
On X, Brandt said two versions of his chart, weekly and daily, both show a falling wedge.
The pattern forms when prices slide between two downward-sloping lines that slowly converge. Chart **** ysts often read it as a sign that selling pressure is fading.

Jessica Chastain brought bold color and a playful silhouette to her latest New York City appearance. The actor stepped out in a striking micro minidress that put her legs in the spotlight, while her blonde bob added another noticeable detail to the look. Rather than relying on elaborate accessories, she let the dress's graphic print take centre stage.
Jessica Chastain was spotted outside the Watch What Happens Live studios in New York City while promoting her upcoming film "Heartland". ? pic.twitter.com/DPTdjNzkid
— Jessica Chastain Crave ? (chastaincrave) November 4, 2026
For the outing, Jessica Chastain wore Emilio Pucci's Iride Print Cady Dress. The sleeveless design featured a square neckline, a fitted bodice, and a short wrap-style skirt that barely skimmed her thighs. Its hot pink, black, and brown geometric pattern featured sweeping diagonal stripes that gave the mini a bold, graphic finish.
An asymmetric panel crossed the front of the skirt, creating a layered effect and a subtle opening. The detail added dimension to the short silhouette without taking attention away from the vibrant print.

The biggest market gains don't always go to the investors who buy first. Sometimes they go to the ones who have enough cash left when everyone else is rushing for the exits.
Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban made that case last week on the "Diary of a CEO" podcast, urging investors to be patient as AI-related stocks surge. His advice is to resist the urge to chase every rally, keep some cash available and wait for the market to turn. That's when he believes the real opportunity appears.
"When that happens, that's when the real magic happens and where the real money is made," Cuban said. "The delayed gratification."
Cuban's approach reflects a lesson he ***** ociates with late Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK) (NYSE:BRK) Vice Chair Charlie Munger. In a conversation about long-term thinking and the temptation of get-rich-quick schemes, he pointed to Munger's belief that meaningful rewards require patience and effort.
"Even Charlie Munger used to say it all the time, right? There's no delayed gratification anymore. Never," Cuban said. "And if you don't realize you have to do the work first, you're not going to get the gratification."

Throughout the day, Americans from across our great nation have headed to the polls or mailed in their ballots to make their voices heard. According to popular prediction market Kalshi, as of 8:50 p.m. ET, the odds have skyrocketed to better than 99% that Democrats will retake control of the House of Representatives. Regardless of what happens in the Senate, President Trump would be working with a divided Congress come January 2027.
Based on what history tells us, a split Congress can significantly alter annualized return expectations for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI), S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC), and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC).

If prediction markets prove accurate and Democrats do retake one or both houses of Congress, President Donald Trump's second nonconsecutive term will mirror his first. Intel lost almost a third of its value on Friday. By the close, the Nasdaq Composite had sealed its worst month since March 2025, down 5.3%.
Tom Lee of Fundstrat, a Wall Street research firm, has another suspect. He thinks one big investor may have been forced to dump tech shares, leaving tech holders with the losses.
Speaking on CNBC as the Nasdaq slid on Friday, Lee said the market was fighting an "internal battle" and that the selling looked forced.
"Today looks like someone's getting liquidated. I don't know if it's an institution," he said.
By "liquidated," Lee means forced to sell. This happens when an investor buys shares with borrowed money and prices then fall. The lender wants its money back, so the investor has to sell at any price.

In roughly 24 hours, the Wisconsin Badgers will be playing at Kinnick Stadium for the 100th edition of the Battle for the Heartland Trophy.
Iowa City, IA, plays host to this historic matchup, one that just so happens to take place on Halloween.
For the first time since 2023, the Badgers are officially in the AP Top 25. Remember, Iowa's shocking loss last Saturday to Minnesota knocked them out of the Top 25 entirely.
Heading into this massive Big Ten showdown, Badgers Wire's Jordon Lawrenz had a chance to speak with Hawkeyes Wire's Josh Helmer.
There's questions at quarterback, which we can discuss in a moment. But, Iowa just hasn't run the football consistently enough. That adds extra pressure on its signal-callers, and it's been an ongoing issue against Power Four foes. Against the power conference teams on its schedule, Iowa has eclipsed the century mark on the ground just once. That was in the Hawkeyes' 41-24 road win at Washington, where Iowa ran for 263 yards.

Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton is receiving flak for his recent comments. During Thursday's press conference, he was asked to share his thoughts on the team's defensive struggles this season.
Hamilton said that he urges his defensive backs not to push themselves to their limit. He also highlighted the importance of having fun on the gridiron.
"I try to relay this message to the DBs, like, it's a game at the end of the day," Hamilton said. "I feel like sometimes we're thinking the whole world's going to end if something bad happens. That's not the approach that you need to have in the sport."
"None of our tombstones are going to say, 'Kyle Hamilton football player.' It's a game that we play. We need to have fun doing it. We need to be out there playing the game like we're playing a game."
Fans questioned Kyle Hamilton's discipline and dedication to the franchise and football after his comments. Some also compared his mentality to franchise legends Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, considered among the best defensive players of all time.

Ta Bi caught the eye from his very first appearance in red and white.
He's a skilful and tricky winger with a turn of speed and seems to be developing very well in the squad. The rawness we saw at the start is going as he improves his all-round game.
On Wednesday, he was very aware of what was going on around him — his head was up and he was looking to hurt the opposition.
He got slightly lucky when beating El Hadji Malick Diouf for the second goal, but if you don't try, nothing happens. Once round the defender, he laid it on a plate for Timur Tutierov and his speed of thought for the third goal was excellent, coupled with a perfect delivery.
I would imagine Régis Le Bris will continue to take it steady with him but must surely recognise that he could be a real thorn in the side for opponents as an impact substitute. He offers a genuine attacking threat and I think in the league, he'll have more chances from the bench.

Bayern Munich and Erling Haaland is a partnership that has almost happened three times.
Is a fourth attempt on the radar? Not according to Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen:
Jan-Christian Dreesen on Erling Haaland's name being linked to FC Bayern, after Manchester City were found guilty of charges: "We have the best striker in the world in Harry Kane, and an attacking line that has no equal in Europe. So, from our perspective, the question of signing Haaland doesn't arise at all."
When asked if Bayern could even afford a player like Haaland at all, Dreesen replied: "We've proven that we can afford it. We can sign Premier League players. We've shown that with Kane, we've shown it with Díaz, and we've shown it with Olise." – but he says that Bayern have a wonderful team that they are very happy with, so they have no need for Erling Haaland.
Kane appears to be on the verge of—at least—a two-year extension. If that happens, it would remove any chance of the Bavarians taking a gander at Haaland should Manchester City get sanctioned into the abyss.

One compelling reason the words "Game 7" stir the sports fan's soul: It seldom happens.
Only six times in Bay Area history has a local franchise played in Game 7 with the championship at stake. And only three times has that captivating, tension-filled, winner-take-all event taken place here: Giants-Yankees in the 1962 World Series, A's-Mets in the 1973 World Series and Warriors-Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals.
Now we have a fourth entry.
Saturday's Game 7 of the WNBA Finals at Chase Center, featuring the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream, counts as a milestone on multiple levels. It also will mark the first time a WNBA postseason series has reached Game 7 - the league adopted a best-of-seven Finals format last year, when Las Vegas swept Phoenix.
The previous year, in 2024, New York and Minnesota went the distance in their best-of-five Finals (the Liberty won 67-62 in Game 5). Any decisive game brings sporting theater, but Game 7s carry extra cachet - as the culmination of a long series, with sustained drama and wild momentum swings.

Ex-player issues Masyn Winn demand to Cardinals appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn features a high ceiling. Winn earned a Gold Glove in 2025. He displayed offensive potential as well, but in 2026 Winn hit just .232 with a .625 OPS. Former MLB star pitcher Lance Lynn isn't placing all of the blame on Winn for his offensive struggles, though. Lynn believes the Cardinals need to make a lineup adjustment next season.
"If you do not put Masyn Winn in the top of the lineup to do what Masyn Winn is capable of, you keep putting him in a hole," Lynn said, via Cardinal Territory. "You gotta free him up… Last year, when you put him in the three hole, you just put him in a spot to just not be successful. I don't know how else to say it. When you put him in the nine hole, it's kind of disrespectful to his talent."
It's an intriguing take. The Cardinals could certainly try putting Winn at the top of the lineup and see what happens. Perhaps it could lead to him finding more overall offensive consistency.

A report says that Prince Harry's hopes for reconciliation are in doubt after his latest interview. It coincided with King Charles welcoming the Sultan of Oman for a historic state visit to the UK. The news emerged after the Duke of Sussex revisited family matters and voiced hopes for a reunion during his recent sit-down with Zach Baron.
In a landmark moment, King Charles hosted the Sultan of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, on Tuesday. It marked the first state visit by an Omani ruler to the UK in 44 years. The talks focused on boosting trade, defence, and Middle East peace efforts. Oman is seen as a key UK ally, and the King's meeting was expected to lead the headlines.
However, the significant diplomatic engagement was overshadowed after Prince Harry chose the same day to release his first tell-all interview since returning to Britain. However, the non-working royal's exclusive conversation drew major public attention and ended up taking center stage instead.
Commenting on the overlap, broadcaster Carole Malone and Daily Express royal editor Emily Ferguson weighed in. They suggested the repeated clashes in timing show Harry is not seeking reconciliation.
Appearing on the Royals Unscripted podcast, Malone said, "Charles will want to placate because he's of an age where he doesn't want to not be speaking to his son again. But I think Wills now is going to be taking the reins on this because what's happening now is that they are going to damage the royal brand… if this happens every time the royals are going to have a big event on."

HUDSON – Dozens of black jerseys file through the home stands at Thompson Field on a cold, rainy October night. Hundreds of cleats clatter against the metal bleachers below, adding to the pounding drums of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck."
As players breach the open gate leading to the field, they extend their arms to reach a banner hanging overhead. A brisk wind ripples the vinyl above, but one word printed in block letters remains legible — "TRADITION"
One of Hudson's oldest traditions is about to take place. Everyone in the stadium knows what happens next. Rudy Ramos, age 77, raises his flag into the air, ready to lead the Tigers into battle, as he's done for more than 30 years.
It started with a simple request.
In 1989, Ramos accepted a job with an insurance company that relocated him from his hometown of Marshall, Michigan to nearby Hudson. He knew about the small city on the outskirts of Lenawee County; after all, almost every sports fan in the state who was alive during the 1970s did.

Cam Skattebo faced a tough outing during the Giants' loss against the Saints for one particular reason, but his reaction has been humble and one that is focused on growth.
Cam Skattebo is a New York Giants fan-favourite, to say the least. During their Week 5 tie with the Washington Commanders, though, the running back committed a cardinal sin at a crucial moment. Skattebo fumbled the football with the team already in field-goal range, costing them a crucial opportunity to win.
There are very few things that coaches dislike at the highest level of football more than poor ball security. Any NFL running back faces massive scrutiny if they do end up losing the football. Skattebo is no different, although his punishment seemingly went well beyond the criticism.
It seems John Harbaugh wasn't interested in messing about when it came to this situation. Skattebo is certainly going to have to earn his coach's trust back. In their Week 6 loss against New Orleans, the running back was only on the field for six snaps and was not called upon for a single carry.
Najee Harris took up the role instead, and it will have been fairly embarrassing for Skattebo. Some NFL stars might get upset if this happens, but the 24-year-old's response to it revealed a surprising amount of maturity.

Death, taxes, and the Dallas Cowboys being no match for the Green Bay Packers in the 21st century.
Much was made about how it had been 10 years (Thursday was the official anniversary) since the Cowboys tasted victory against their longtime rivals. Sunday night offered the next opportunity, and we are all going to have to keep on waiting.
The Cowboys were never really in the game against Green Bay and seemed to be fighting themselves as much as they were the Packers. It is hard to believe that they had the mini bye to prepare for this as they looked as without preparation as a Cowboys team has looked in some time.
Dallas is officially 2-4 after their latest outing and while they have the "benefit" of playing in a down NFC East… they in no way look like a team that you can trust right now. In fact, they looked like that last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and only corroborated that notion at Lambeau Field.
This is a really tough moment for a Cowboys franchise that has experienced several of them within the last 1,000 days (and well beyond that, but you know what I mean). What happens next? Anything? Should something?

Notre Dame's 28-24 loss to BYU on Saturday night was all kinds of hurt. As we pointed out earlier, there are layers to his kind of loss (and that was barely scratching the surface). Obviously a loss like that is going to affect the rankings and the chances to win a national championship. Right?
Well… maybe.
When the odds came out on Sunday, Notre Dame was one of the favorites to win the national championship. Some oddsmakers had the Irish having the nest odds in the country, but FanDuel Sportsbook had Notre Dame behind Ohio State — and now as of publishing this post, Georgia is ahead of the Irish too.
Betting odds aren't always the best predictors of future success, but it's quite something that even after a loss like the Irish just had to BYU — this whole season is still very much in play.
There are plenty of things we can rage about when it comes to this Notre Dame football team, but that is the case for most of the country as well. It's why a day like we just saw all over college football on Saturday happens. It's nuts, but that's what makes college football, college football.

Following the heartbreaking loss of his 13-year-old daughter, Chad Lowe shared a message about finding peace and love beyond death.
Lowe, 58, reposted a clip from a June 2025 episode of the On Healing podcast to his Instagram Story on Thursday, October 8. In the clip, life coach Gerry Hussey described a spiritual connection inside everyone. "It's an energy field, and we possess it all the time within ourselves," Hussey said. "We are all part of the frequency. We all possess direct access to that."
Hussey also spoke, in the social media clip, about what happens when someone dies. "We return to a state of peace and love," he said
The post from Lowe came days after his eldest daughter, Mabel, honored her late little sister on Instagram on Saturday, October 3.
"I love you so much Fiona," Mabel, 17, wrote on social media alongside photos of the pair. "I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much."

After Chad Lowe announced the death of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona Lowe, he is sharing insight into his coping process.
On Thursday, Oct. 8, more than a week after Fiona Lowe died by suicide on Sept. 29, he took to his Instagram Stories to share a clip from Olivia Hunt's "On Healing" podcast. In the clip, author and self-described "soul coach" Gerry Hussey muses about believing in a "divine frequency" and what happens when someone dies.
"So when we die, where do we go? We return to a state of peace and love. Where were we before we were born?" he said, adding that he believes "there's a spirit that enters the body. It mobilizes. It gives us an intelligence and an awareness."
Mabel Lowe, 17, honors little sister Fiona Lowe days after her death
In the episode, originally released in July 2025, Hussey spoke about the grieving process involving accepting that "we control nothing" and that "nobody really knows why people die; ***** ody really knows why we live."

Lots of investors keep coming back to dividend stocks for a pretty simple reason: While the market is often busy chasing whatever happens to be hot that week, a growing dividend is something a company actually has to earn. It has to generate the cash to keep paying investors quarter after quarter, year after year.
That makes dividends especially appealing when the market and the economy feel like they're being pulled in every direction. A company can dress up a press release, but it can't fake the cash sitting in its bank account. When it comes time to pay a dividend, the money is either there or it isn't.
Missed AI's "Act 1"? Act 2 Could Be 14x Bigger. Most investors think they missed the AI boat because they didn't buy Nvidia in 2005. But according to our ****** ysts, we're only at the end of "Act 1"—the R&D phase. "Act 2" is the global rollout. Continue »
What interests me most, though, aren't necessarily the big, well-known dividend payers. I'm more interested in the companies flying under the radar that have increased their payouts for decades while also making meaningful changes to their underlying businesses today. These four companies fit that description.
Universal (NYSE: UVV) is the highest yielder here, paying out around 7.4% at recent prices, and it has raised its dividend for 56 consecutive years. This raise makes it a Dividend King, a company that has delivered 50 or more years of annual dividend increases. Universal isn't a cigarette maker, but it is the world's largest leaf tobacco exporter and importer. It supplies tobacco companies rather than selling to smokers directly, which is why it rarely shows up in articles about tobacco stocks.

Jessica Biel revealed that her 11-year-old son, Silas, is interested in both acting and music, just like his mom and dad, Justin Timberlake. The actress opened up about her family while attending the "Matchbox: The Movie" premiere in New York City on October 5.
Jessica Biel shares Silas has a small part in 'Matchbox' and is also a DJ. While speaking with E! News, Biel explained that Silas appears briefly at the very end of the Apple TV film, which premieres October 9. She called the cameo "really cute."
The interviewer asked whether her sons are following in her footsteps or are more musically inclined like Timberlake. Biel said Silas is "a little bit of both." "He's a DJ, so he's kind of interested in both lanes," she added. She shared that she and her husband are "letting him take his time and see what happens and what he really gets interested in."
Biel shares Silas and his younger brother, Phineas, with Timberlake. She said her sons visited the set and were excited to meet Cena, whom they consider a hero. Describing them as "so funny," Biel said their "brains implode" whenever they visit a set with "cool action sequences" and fight scenes.
Biel recalled that Phineas seemed to wonder, "Is this real? Is this not real?" after co-actor John Cena was punched and fell to the ground. She admitted she does not know what they are thinking, calling it "just a lot of confusion." Silas is more like, "I know what this is," she said, while Phineas is still wondering what is happening.

JPMorgan Chase (JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon sharpened his warning about the risks of a global bond sell-off on Tuesday, saying the world's massive competition for capital could begin squeezing corporate borrowers.
Dimon warned that the combination of rising government borrowing costs and spending on the AI boom could spill into corporate credit markets, pushing up the costs for companies to refinance or raise new debt.
"There will be a point where the market will ask for more and more and more, and yeah, at one point that'll feed into corporate debt, corporate credit spreads, and things like that, which is how it normally happens," Dimon said in a Bloomberg interview on the sidelines of a JPMorgan event in London.
"The best thing to do with any of these things is deal with it before it becomes a crisis. If it becomes a crisis, we will deal with it. It just will be in a much less pleasant way," he added.
The warning comes as a global rout in bonds has pushed longer-term borrowing costs sharply higher in recent weeks, with the benchmark US 10-year Treasury yield recently surpassing heights not seen since 2002.

"Grey's Anatomy" star Isaiah Washington has shared the "huge shock" his family experienced with his wife's sudden death.
In addressing the speculations concerning his family life, Washington, 63, broke his silence in an Instagram post on Saturday, Oct. 3, announcing that his wife of 29 years, Jenisa Washington, had died 16 months prior.
"Yes…the rumors are true. My dear wife of 29 years collapsed suddenly on May 31, 2025 and passed away on June 9, 2025. It came as a huge shock to me and our entire family," he wrote. "She succumbed to a massive hemorrhagic stroke and never recovered."
A hemorrhagic stroke happens "when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, causing bleeding (hemorrhage) in or around the brain," according to the National Library of Medicine's MedlinePlus. The pressure from the bleeding damages brain tissue, causing brain cells to start dying within minutes.
"Listen, y'all…some headaches are not just headaches or migraines, they can be much worse and a warning sign," Washington continued. "Get a brain scan if you can and take those headaches seriously."

Dakota Johnson's shoe style has a few reliable tells. On the red carpet, the actress regularly comes back to barely-there strappy sandals, a choice that also happens to leave her "Look At The Moon" foot tattoo in full view. She has worn versions from Saint Laurent and Gucci over the years, including black sandals with her slinky Gucci dress for the 2025 "Materialists" premiere.
Off duty, Johnson is just as committed to the eternal cool-girl ballet flat. In 2026, she repeatedly stepped out in Phoebe Philo's gathered leather flats, then worked Khaite's high-vamp Jane flats into her "Verity" press tour wardrobe.

Garrett Clark addressed the elephant in the room for the first time during the Good Good Golf 50 States in 50 Days series. On day five, as the crew was making their way through Montana, Clark spoke to the audience to thank them for their support during a turbulent time for the company.
During that address to fans, he revealed something many fans were wondering but didn't have confirmation on. Now they do.
Clark took a second to pause his golf content to speak with the Good Good loyal audience.
He said, "I want to give a shout-out to all the courses that have hosted us along the way. I think one thing that we haven't really touched on is that once we obviously went through the stuff that happened within Good Good and online recently, a lot of people were scared to be within a social reach of us, if you will. It is what it is. It happens. I want to give a huge shout-out to all of the courses along the way that are sticking with us, making this happen."
He added, "50 States in 50 Days was a crazy idea that we had and obviously, with everything that happened recently with Good Good, when we tried to start scheduling things out, a lot of the spots were saying no because they didn't want us to come out to their course."

Celebrity breakups sometimes come as a shock—especially when the split happens months or even days before the couple was set to marry.
Stars who cancelled their weddings include Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez, Usher, and Brad Pitt.
For some couples, like Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, their engagement lasted for years before they broke things off.
Not every celebrity engagement ends in a marriage.
For some star couples, the time between a proposal and their highly anticipated "I do's" forces them to take stock of what they really want. They might realize things are happening too fast, or that they're—plot twist—in love with someone else. Whatever the reason, they're bound to make headlines when they call off their wedding, sometimes within days of the planned ceremony.

Debbie Reynolds had some great words of wisdom before her death in 2016.
During her granddaughter Billie Lourd's appearance on the Thursday, October 1, broadcast of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, host Andy Cohen asked about the "best advice" the late actress bestowed on her.
Lourd's answer? "Always get a facelift before you need one," the American Horror Story actress, 34, responded, adding that it is actually really "important" information.
While Reynolds may have given some solid advice, it is unclear if Lourd, who is also the daughter of late actress Carrie Fisher, has had any work done.
