True entertainers can charm the pants off even the toughest of critics. Although anyone with good Wi-Fi and a clean iPhone lens can go viral, it takes hard work, genuine talent, a whole lot of perseverance, and, of course, innate magnetism to cut through the algorithm and catch the attention of industry gatekeepers and fickle fans alike. And all 31 honorees selected for our 2026 Breakthrough List have done just that.

Actor-writer-director Eva Victor, for instance, went from posting (respectfully) goofy pandemic-era TikTok sketches to darling of last year's Sundance Film Festival with her debut feature Sorry, Baby; now, she calls Pedro Pascal and Olivia Wilde co-stars. For FLO, "Leak It" has established the British trio as one of music's most sizzling R&B acts, while campy duo Haute & Freddy's synthy whimsy and thoughtful lyricism earned them the stamp of approval from a certified pop icon: Lady Gaga. After cutting his teeth with one supporting role after the next, The Shards standout Igby Rigney proves he has what it takes to be one of TV's leading men. Meanwhile, Mexican actor Diego Calva has one Golden Globe nomination to his name, and we predict another coming his way for his tender performance in Jordan Firstman's already-buzzy Club Kid.

Whether they're topping charts with tomorrow's Grammy-winning earworms, delighting audiences in mega-viral social media series, or breathing new life into beloved franchises like Legally Blonde and Baywatch, these artists will remain at the top of our feeds, queues, and playlists for years. Below, meet this year's breakthroughs.

Calling Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde, and Amanda Peete co-stars is no small matter, but that's reality for Aimee Carrero, a scene-stealer in Apple TV+'s Emmy-nominated Your Friends and Neighbors. A featured player in dozens of IMDb credits thus far, the Dominican-American actress from Miami has a starring role in the comedy One Attempt Remaining (with Jennifer Garner, Kate McKinnon, John Cena, no less) coming down the pike. As for who Carrero thinks will have a banner year? Inde Navarrette: "I love seeing a young Latina woman out there doing her thing."

What was your first job?
Working in a furniture store—West Elm. A celebrity who will remain unnamed came in and ordered a ton of sh*t. It was gonna be a huge commission for me. I went to ring her up, and the card declined. She says, "I'll be back tomorrow." Never came back.

Who should play you in your biopic?
Olivia Rodrigo. You want someone younger and more beautiful than you to do it.

What's the most underrated movie, TV show, song, or album of all time?
Well, it wasn't underrated at the time, but I do think this new generation needs to get into The X Files. Gillian Anderson was my first celebrity crush. There's a new one coming out—Ryan Coogler's—it's gonna be amazing, I'm sure.

Howie Mandel says his wife, Terry Mandel, eventually reached a point where living around his obsessive-compulsive disorder and intense fear of germs had become too much.
During the August 24 episode of Hoda Kotb's Joy 101 podcast, the 70-year-old comedian recalled Terry telling him she could not continue living that way unless he sought professional help. Her ultimatum eventually sent him to a psychiatrist, where Mandel was diagnosed with OCD in his 40s after experiencing symptoms since childhood.
He gave Kotb several examples of how extensively his rituals affected the household. Mandel said he built a separate ****** e in the backyard where he might stay for a week if one of their children sneezed, and he sometimes required family members to disinfect phones or other objects he considered contaminated.
The conversation also covered a separate crisis decades later. Mandel said his anxiety intensified dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic and that he began self-medicating in an attempt to sleep and escape his thoughts, eventually reaching a point where Terry sometimes could not wake him.
Mandel told Kotb that his fear of germs is only one manifestation of the OCD symptoms and rituals he has dealt with for much of his life. Although germaphobia became part of his public persona and comedy, he described the reality of living with it in far harsher terms. "It's ****** ," he said.

These days, Jason Mraz's connection to the land is more than a lyric.
Over the past two decades, he has helped transform a San Diego orchard into a regenerative farm whose produce now ships around the country.
About a decade after becoming Mraz Family Farms, the property now has a full-time staff and grows avocados, coffee beans, and passion fruit, according to Green Matters. Its avocados have also been supplied to Chipotle.
Mraz said he bought the land in 2004, and in 2015 it became Mraz Family Farms, which uses organic, fair trade, and regenerative practices.
"When I bought the property 20 years ago, I bought it from a man in his 80s, and he planted those trees probably in the mid '70s," Mraz said. "Now I'm 46; the trees I'm planting today will be about that same age when I'm in my 80s."

There's no doubt that George Clooney's got a lot of celebrity friends. We've seen him co-star with plenty of them in film projects, like his "forever friend" Brad Pitt in Apple TV+'s Wolfs or reuniting with Oceans Eleven co-star Julia Roberts for Ticket to Paradise. But after Harry Potter's Emma Watson was spot heading into Clooney's French villa, who would have thought that they know each other?
While we know about George Clooney's close celebrity friends like Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, and more, there may be another friend in his circle we don't know about. Instagrammer profile DeuxMoi posted photos of Emma Watson wearing a white floral dress stepping into George Clooney's Lake Como villa.
There are so many questions on my mind as to what Watson's connection could be with Clooney. Maybe they're working on an undisclosed film project together. As the two A-listers are so talented, I would love to see the two show off their acting chops as they share the screen.
