Elon Musk directed a series of personal insults at Anne Hathaway after an eight-year-old speech about LGBTQ equality, race and privilege resurfaced on X.
The billionaire called Hathaway a "marionette," accused her of reading words written by somebody else and said the Oscar winner had a "little bird brain." He also claimed she simply repeated whatever Hollywood instructed her to say.
The video came from the Human Rights Campaign's National Dinner in Washington, D.C., on September 15, 2018. One of the posts recirculating the footage incorrectly described Hathaway's remarks as a new speech.
Musk has attacked The Odyssey's casting and announced plans for his artificial-intelligence platform to create a competing adaptation of Homer's epic before the end of 2026.
The renewed controversy began after the X account Her Tribe Vibe shared an excerpt from Hathaway's speech and presented it as a recent statement. Musk responded across several posts. "She has a little bird brain," he wrote in one reply.

Screenwriter Russell T Davies has described the death of his husband to an aggressive brain tumour as his "greatest loss".
Speaking on the On the Marie Curie Couch podcast, the Doctor Who writer opened up about Andrew Smith, who died in September 2018, following eight years of treatment for glioblastoma multiforme.
The couple had been together for 20 years and married in 2012.
The Swansea-born writer, who was also behind Channel 4 shows It's a Sin and Tip Toe, said it was "hard work" looking after his late husband, but that he would have gone through it for another 50 years "without a single complaint".
Davies said he had not been with Smith at his appointment when he was first diagnosed because the couple thought it was just an "ordinary meeting" with the hospital.

Nissan and Honda, which pulled back from a full merger in early 2025, have been discussing collaboration in a number of areas, including SDVs, and EV batteries and powertrain components.

The 25-year-old swimmer, who won the 2023 British Swimming Championships, broke down in tears after finishing seventh in the men's 50m ***** troke final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
"Outside the pool I dream of a future where brain cancer isn't the biggest killer of those under 40, where the UK government establishes a brain cancer lead to make that change," he said. "I'd much prefer that change is made, and that dream is completed, than any of my personal goals in the pool because what families and young people are going through out there is really beyond the comprehension of many people out there and certainly harder than anything I've had to do as a world-class sportsman."

The seeds were planted, deliberately or not, by Packers president and CEO Ed Policy. In a March 2026 interview with Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal, Policy expressed an opinion that the current financial realities of NFL ownership make it harder for the only publicly-owned NFL franchise to compete.
“If you think about any other team, they’ve got deep-pocketed owners, most of them are worth significantly more than that, and they could sell less than 10 percent of their team, give up no controlling interest, and raise a heck of a lot more than that,” Policy said.
“Given the pace that the expenses have accelerated over the past few years, if we find ourselves falling behind, it’s going to be really hard to catch up. So, we have to keep ourselves in a position where we’re not falling behind.”

William Shatner and his youngest daughter, Melanie Shatner Gretsch, were both fighting separate stage 4 cancer diagnoses at the same time several years ago. It was a terrifying chapter that the two are only now fully opening up about after both becoming cancer-free.
The pair told People that Shatner Gretsch, 61, was already about a year into her stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis when her father learned that he, too, had cancer.
In June 2023, the Star Trek icon learned he had stage 4 malignant melanoma that had spread to both his brain and his lungs.
"I remember vividly thinking, 'I don't have the strength to take care of myself and lost my father at the same time,'" Shatner Gretsch shared.
She also recalled a time during her chemotherapy treatments when she called her father, telling him, "I think I'm dying."

It's hard to believe that this coming January will mark ten years. I remember when I heard the news. It hit me like a slug hitting a deer. I had to sit for a few minutes, reading and re-reading the story. My brain refused to believe that the news was true, but eventually reality set in.
All of us have different memories and reactions to the death of Yordano Ventura. Things we know for certain: he had one of the best arms the Royals ever signed and developed. His stuff was electric. He had a fiery attitude that we loved and opponents often hated. He had his share of dustups, notably with Mike Trout, Manny Machado, Jose Bautista, and the entire roster of the Chicago White Sox. There was also a tiff with Brett Lawrie that looked personal. Even when he was in the wrong, we stood behind him because he was our guy.
I loved the way he would swing his right leg around after delivering one of his blazing fastballs.
We felt like he was just starting to tap into his massive potential. Then he was gone way too soon.
His postseason appearances were must-see TV. Ned Yost unwittingly used him as a reliever in the 2014 Wild Card Game, which ended in a spectacular blowup. He was brilliant against the Angels in the Division Series, tossing five-hit ball over seven shutout innings. He threw 95 pitches in that game. Twenty-two of those pitches reached 100 mph or more. When you add in his devastating curveball, well, sometimes there's just no chance for the hitter. He was brilliant against the Giants in the World Series, allowing just two runs in 12.1 innings of work.

The Miami Heat's recent surge in their chances to land LeBron James apparently didn't come from an all-out pitch from the team's star offseason acquisition, Giannis Antetokounmpo. If anything, it's actually been just the opposite—sort of. However, while speaking recently about James and his free agency decision, Giannis's comments may have done much of the heavy lifting and actually been a pitch in itself.
During an interview with Mike Cugno of CBS Miami, Antetokounmpo was asked about what his free agency pitch to James would be. This is where The Greek Freak's interesting response, which began by admitting he doesn't think he'll "pitch anything to him," was not only an excellent response, but also high praise and a nice pitch without actually technically being one.
"I don't think I'll pitch anything to him," Antetokounmpo said. "I feel like in his career, he's always made good decisions. That's what history has shown. Everywhere he's been, he's won. If he believes the Miami Heat organization is a good decision for him and his family, he should make that decision. But he's one of the greatest players to play this game, if not the greatest. I don't think there's a team on the planet that would not want him to be there."

Georgia running back Dante Dowdell is hospitalized with what head coach Kirby Smart described Tuesday as "serious injuries" due to an accident while riding an ATV.
Smart declined to reveal the nature of Dowdell's injuries while speaking at SEC media days in Tampa, Florida. Per ESPN, Smart said that Dowdell is receiving treatment at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, a hospital that specializes in spinal cord and brain injury rehabilitation.
"He's injured," Smart said, per ESPN. "We don't know when his return will be. I don't know the specifics of it, to be honest with you. It was a recreational vehicle, and he had some serious injuries."
Smart told reporters that Dowdell had been in two hospitals since the accident and that the program has cautious expectations that he'll make a "full recovery."
"We expect a full recovery, but the outlook right now is we're waiting to see," Smart said, per On3. "We'll go day to day with him and see.

More than half a century has elapsed since the last big exhibition of work by Richard Dadd, the Victorian one-off who murdered his father while in his 20s and spent the rest of his life painting in psychiatric institutions. The most famous of his seemingly psychedelic compositions is The Fairy-Feller's Master-Stroke (1855-64), an airless, intricate and profoundly eccentric picture swarming with supernatural creatures, each apparently no bigger than a blade of grass. Surely it's the product of a fevered brain?
Richard Dadd: Beyond Bedlam, at the Royal Academy of Arts, invites us to consider its subject afresh, not as a lunatic who happened to paint but as a first-rate artist who lived with mental illness (probably schizophrenia), a little like Vincent van Gogh. Although, on this evidence, his folkloric paintings can appear obscure, as well as multitudinous and hallucinatory, the originality of his vision reinforces the show's premise. This exhibition may be weird, but it's certainly compelling.
Despite Dadd's medical history, it would be wrong to categorise him as an "outsider" artist. He was born in Kent in 1817, his mother died when he was a child, then, at the age of 19, he entered the Royal Academy Schools, a move emphasised (unsurprisingly, given its setting) by this exhibition's dull opening room. If Dadd's mature art appears technically accomplished and steeped in art history – I have a hunch that an odd watercolour of 1852 depicting Robin Hood craftily alludes to The Archers (1769-70) by Sir Joshua Reynolds now in Tate Britain – that's because he was trained, as well as talented.
After winning acclaim for some early Shakespearean fairy pictures, including one of a corpulent, malevolent-looking Puck sitting cross-legged on a fungus beneath a foxglove like a dripping shower head, Dadd was invited, in 1842, to accompany Thomas Phillips, a Welsh lawyer and politician, on a trip around the eastern Mediterranean. Over-stimulated by this grand tour, Dadd began suffering delusions. On his return to London, he became convinced that his father was a devil and killed him with a knife. A year later, he was admitted to Bethlem and remained there for two decades before being transferred to Broadmoor Hospital, where he would eventually die from tuberculosis, in 1886.
During his time as a patient, medical attitudes to mental illness started to shift. In 1854, Dadd produced Agony – Raving Madness, a watercolour of a manacled, half-naked, evidently tormented patient clutching at his head. Yet, Dadd's doctors wanted physical coercion to become a thing of the past. They allowed him to draw and paint as he wished, and even commissioned him to do so; exceptionally, at Broadmoor, they also provided him with carpentry tools, so that he could build his own idiosyncratic wooden picture frames (two of which appear at the Royal Academy).

AMD is a leader in the data center CPU ***** e, having consistently taken share away from Intel over the past few years. The company has strong technology and has developed high-core CPUs designed specifically for agentic AI. Cores act like individual workstations, and packing more cores into a CPU is like giving the chip a large workforce to help power autonomous AI agents. Its new Venice architecture, set to debut soon, utilizes up to 256 cores, making it ideal for agentic AI.
In addition to its agentic AI opportunity with its CPUs, AMD is also benefiting from the surging inference market with its GPUs. Its acquisition of memory optimization company MEXT, whose chiplet design allows it to be packaged with more memory, positions AMD well in the inference market, and it already has two massive deals in place with OpenAI and Meta Platforms.

Armando Rubio, who's appeared on TLC's 90 Day Fiancé franchise, updated followers Thursday on his daughter's medical emergency.
Earlier this week, he told followers that Hannah, 13, is being treated for a brain bleed in a hospital in Arizona, although the cause was unclear.
Rubio stayed at the family's home in Mexico because he said he was unable to gain entry to the U.S.
Armando Rubio, of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, cried Thursday, as he updated fans on his daughter's health.
"I miss my baby girl," Rubio said of 13-year-old Hannah. "I don't want to lose her. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, guys. And thank you all that have supported her on the GoFundMe and everything, all the love that's coming our way."
