Like every job in Hollywood, managers have grappled with plenty of change in their work in the last decade. Luckily for Range Media Partners' Cora Olson and Michael Diamond, they have each other.
The duo has worked as a unit for 10 years, since being brought together at Mgmt Entertainment and eventually grew to run the lit division. They joined Range as partners in 2024 with a desire to evolve alongside the modern talent management firm, founded during the pandemic by a collective of former CAA, UTA and WME agents hoping to shake things up in the entertainment marketplace. The management company operates its talent representation business alongside an in-house production studio, allowing the operation to finance, develop and build equity in intellectual property.
All those contributing factors can help when putting together the right package to get a film or TV project off the ground in today's precarious Hollywood model — one with fewer greenlit projects and a reliance on safer bets from major distributors. But Olson and Diamond, who represent Hollywood big shots like "Schitt's Creek" Emmy winner Dan Levy, actress-producer-director Kyra Sedgwick and "Pig" filmmaker Michael Sarnoski, counter the ****** umption that original ideas are a tougher sell.
It just takes more work to get there.
"You're not just marrying this actor with this part, or this writer with this ****** ignment. It's not as much mix-and-match as it used to be, because there isn't that same amount of volume," Olson told Office With a View. "If you look at the shows and movies that are breaking through right now, it's those really fresh points of view that seem to resonate with audiences."

The comments come as India's $315 ‌billion software services industry grapples with adoption of AI, which is reshaping hiring, software development and contracts.
Wipro, with about 243,000 employees in June, is shifting to a "human-AI operating model," with more than 100,000 employees receiving advanced AI-related training and certifications, Sandhya Arun said in an interview.
"It could be the same engineer managing a bunch of agents, deployed on other projects or being trained for some other role. It doesn't ‌necessarily mean person-to-person replacement by an ⁠agent."

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FIRST ON FOX: As Washington, D.C., grapples with a persistent squatting problem, one resident in the nation's capital is speaking out about how unwelcome tenants have turned her life upside down, terrorizing her neighborhood while the city stands by and does nothing.
"I lived in several countries, including Third World countries, but it seems to me that I'm living in a Fourth World country in D.C.," Tatyana Day Velasquez, who owns a small three-unit building in Columbia Heights, told Fox News Digital.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 4 (Reuters) - A swarm of rogue OpenAI agents hijacked a German website this spring and transformed it into a bulletin board for other AI agents, according to new research published Friday and two people familiar with the matter.
OpenAI officials learned of the incident weeks ago but kept it under wraps as executives ‌grappled with the fallout from the July breach of the open source repository Hugging Face, the people said.
The episode, which began in May and has not previously been reported, underscores growing tension ‌within the AI industry. Companies are racing to build increasingly autonomous agents capable of carrying out complex, valuable tasks, yet evidence is mounting that those systems may also learn to bend rules, exploit loopholes and coordinate with one another in ways developers neither anticipated nor intended.
During the Hugging Face breach, OpenAI agents autonomously plotted a digital heist that went undetected for more than a week, intensifying concerns OpenAI is sacrificing safety to push the AI frontier. Its failure to disclose the May incident may revive questions about its oversight.

WASHINGTON, Sept 3 (Reuters) - U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asked his new CDC director to remove a reference to two Pennsylvania deaths from the agency's online measles tally after he questioned whether the disease contributed to the fatalities, three sources familiar with the situation said.
Kennedy's request came after CDC staffers had already ‌accepted the state's characterization of the deaths as linked to measles, a Pennsylvania official said.
Despite that, Erica Schwartz, the recently appointed director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ‌agreed with Kennedy's directive and implemented it without objection, said the three sources familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The move followed a heated exchange on social media between Kennedy, a long-time anti-vaccine activist appointed by President Donald Trump, and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, a Democrat. The two officials accused each other of politicizing the outbreak in Pennsylvania, the latest state to grapple with a resurgence of measles since the Trump administration took office.

Michael Wright, known for his onscreen roles in "The Five Heartbeats" and "V," has died, according to a family statement shared on social media. He was 70.
The New York-born actor's wife, Susan Wright, confirmed his death in an Instagram post Friday, Aug. 21, writing, "It is with profound sadness and an unimaginable heaviness in my heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Michael Wright."
The family told TMZ in a statement that "The Principal" star died on Aug. 19 after suffering from "heart failure" as well as "complications of a rare degenerative neurological disease called Marchiafava-Bignami."
Throughout his career, Wright appeared in more than 50 film and television projects, most notably his movie roles as Clinton in 1979's "The Wanderers," main villain Victor Duncan in the action-crime flick "The Principal" and Carlyle in 1983's "Streamers," alongside David Alan Grier. Many TV fans will also recall his performance as Elias Taylor in the 1984 sci-fi miniseries "V" or as the poet-inmate Omar White in HBO's "Oz."
His most recognizable role is arguably in the 1991 musical film "The Five Heartbeats," where he plays the charismatic yet troubled vocalist Eddie King Jr., who grapples with alcohol and drug addiction that impact his career and place in the fictional Motown group.

The "Nashville" and "Ice Princess" star has died at 36, her representative confirmed in a statement to USA TODAY on Sunday, Aug. 16. A cause of death has not yet been shared.
Months before her death, the actress opened up in her memoir "This Is Me: A Reckoning" about childhood fame, crossing nefarious actors in her teens and addiction as an adult. In recent interviews about the memoir, Panettiere reflected that she was "groomed" to be a "little soldier" throughout her early career, which included roles in the soap opera "One Life to Live" and the animated "A Bug's Life."
Much of Panettiere's memoir grappled with grief, especially the death of her younger brother, Jansen Panettiere, and the years she lost to addiction. She wrote about relinquishing custody of her then 2-year-old daughter Kaya after struggling with postpartum depression and addiction. And, like many of her famous peers, Panettiere grieved the "chance to have a 'normal' childhood."
When Panettiere was just 4, her mother pushed her through the busy Manhattan streets from audition to audition, bookending each call with the phrase "Don't phone it in." Raul Rosas Jr. has his first main event booked in the UFC. On September 26, he takes on veteran Raoni Barcelos in the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Also, for Barcelos, it is his first main event in the UFC. The 39-year-old Brazilian is 18 years older than his opponent, Rosas Jr.
The UFC announced the UFC Vegas 121 bantamweight booking during the UFC 330 broadcast. Rosas Jr. is currently ranked No. 12 in the media rankings, while Barcelos sits at No. 13 in the media rankings and No. 9 in the meta rankings.
Raul Rosas Jr. earned his UFC contract in 2022 during the Contender Series. The 17-year-old fighter beat Mando Gutierrez via unanimous decision. Just after turning 18, Rosas Jr. burst into the UFC with a first-round face-crank submission over Jay Perrin. While he initially looked unstoppable, he suffered his first and only career defeat in his sophomore outing, losing to Christian Rodriguez via unanimous decision.
He ended the year with a quick TKO win over Terrence Mitchell. In 2024, Rosas Jr. fought twice and won both times against Ricky Turcios and Aoriqileng. After also winning in 2025 against Vince Morales, the young fighter got a shot at the rankings earlier this year, taking on Rob Font. Rosas Jr. outgrappled Font to win a unanimous decision. Now, ranked in the bantamweight division, he takes on Raoni Barcelos.
Before signing with the UFC in 2018, Barcelos had already won multiple ****** les in other promotions. Barcelos had an amazing start to his UFC career, winning his first five fights and earning two bonuses for 'Fight of the Night' performances. Mackenzie Dern successfully defended her strawweight **** le with a largely one-sided but somewhat lackluster outing against Gillian Robertson in the UFC 330 co-main event.
Takedowns and submission attempts ruled the day for Dern as she came close to finishing Robertson a couple of times during the fight but she mostly just maintained control and showed she was the superior grappler. Robertson really didn't produce any offense until the final round and even then she just managed to stay in control on the ground without really damaging Dern.
When it was over the judges scored the fight 49-46, 49-46 and 48-47 with Dern getting the unanimous decision victory.
"I'm super happy," Dern said about her win. "My first **** le win I got taken down a lot of times so I've been working on my wrestling. I'm still the champion. I definitely wanted to submit her, that was the goal. I try to get submissions in all my fights. I wish I could do some more damage to set up the submissions."
A striking exchange led to Robertson shooting for a takedown but Dern countered effectively before the strawweights separated again. Dern was very effective with her combinations including a stiff leg kick that kept chipping away at Robertson's base.

PHILADELPHIA – Mackenzie Dern secured her first ******* le defense Saturday in the UFC 330 co-main event in Philadelphia.
An unsurprisingly grapple-heavy affair went the distance, with Dern (16-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) winning by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47) at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
The fight was hyped as a battle of strawweight grapplers. During fight week, Dern repeatedly affirmed she was on a substantially elevated level from Robertson (17-8 MMA, 14-6 UFC). When it came time to make her case, Dern did just that. She nearly submitted Robertson with a rear-naked choke in the final minute of Round 1, but the Canadian was saved by the horn.
In Round 2, Dern went back to the well and took Robertson down again. Round 3 consisted of more of the same, with Robertson taking elongated periods of time to get Dern off her – whether it was along the fence or on the canvas.
It was deja vu in Round 4, as Dern once again dragged Robertson down and took her back. With four minutes to work, Dern was able to maintain position on Robertson for approximately three minutes. With about 90 seconds left in the round, Robertson reversed Dern and ended up on top in her guard. However, Dern threatened an armbar, and then a knee bar, off her back.

A new lightweight contender has arrived.
Quillan Salkilld (13-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) had to eat a punch or two, but mostly tore right through Mateusz Gamrot (26-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) in the UFC Fight Night 284 main event at a newly refurbished Meta APEX in Las Vegas. And now that more fans can take in a show like Saturday's, they got a treat out of the gate.
A Salkilld win by submission over a credentialed wrestler and grappler like Gamrot was one of the least likely predicted outcomes in the headliner. But afterward, Salkilld said his rear-naked choke with 35 seconds left in the first is just the type of performance lightweights can expect – and he has his sights set on the top five.
"I just proved I'm the real f*cking deal now. These top five (lightweights) better (watch out)," Salkilld said on the microphone with Daniel Cormier. "I believe I can get it done within the first minute or the last minute. ... I think I deserve someone who's in the top five or close to it."
Salkilld tried to get a quick start and took the center quickly. In some tight exchanges early, Salkilld landed and forced Gamrot to look for a takedown – not at all unexpected. He got a single-leg briefly, but also appeared to be hurt.

Facing the biggest challenge of his career, by his own request, the rising star dominated the veteran all the way up to a submission at the end of the first round. It is his 13th straight win and sixth since entering the ranks of the UFC.
"I just proved I'm the real f***ing deal," Salkilld said in his postfight interview.
Going into the fight, the conventional wisdom was that the longer and younger Salkilld would need to rely on his striking to hold his own with a top 10 lightweight. Instead, he freely grappled with Gamrot and eventually gained a decisive advantage.
"That's just how I fight," Salkilld said. "I don't care who the f*** you are, I'm going to take it to you and all the aspects where you think you're safe. I'm not going to be fighting on the back foot the whole time, just jabbing and allowing him to punch and wrestle."

Zabit Magomedsharipov has another grappling match lined up – this time against top-ranked UFC featherweight Youssef Zalal in the main event of ACBJJ 22 in Istanbul, Turkey, on Aug. 30.
ACBJJ also officially announced Monday that former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad will compete on the card, taking on former Oktagon ****** leholder Kerim Engizek.
Magomedsharipov vs. Zalal will be contested at 154 pounds, while Muhammad grapples Engizek in a 198-pound match.
Magomedsharipov was expected to face Raul Rosas Jr. in a grappling contest this past July, his first appearance since retiring from the UFC in 2020, but withdrew from the card with an undisclosed injury,

BEIJING, July 14 (Reuters) - China's exports surged in June, buoyed by orders for chips to fuel the global AI boom and automobiles, deepening producers' reliance on overseas buyers as policymakers in the world's No. 2 economy continue to grapple with how to boost demand at home.
The stronger-than-expected trade performance keeps ‌China on track to post a surplus topping $1 trillion for a second straight year, with factories sustaining sales despite slowing growth in major economies and trade frictions with Washington.
Exports ‌climbed 27% from a year earlier in U.S. dollar value terms, customs data showed on Tuesday, their best performance in four months, outpacing the 19.4% gain in May and an 18.2% rise forecast by economists.
Imports jumped 36%, compared with a 27.4% gain the month before, a five-year high. Economists had forecast growth of 24% for June.

A major pizza chain is preparing to close dozens of restaurants once again as its parent company works to eliminate underperforming locations following what executives describe as a "challenging period" for the business.

Nvidia supplies the world's best graphics processing units (GPUs) for data centers, and its chips are still the main providers of parallel processing power for AI training and inference workloads. The company's dominance in that niche started in 2022 with the H100 GPU, which was built on the Hopper architecture. But in the years since, Nvidia has launched its Blackwell and Blackwell Ultra GPU architectures, the latter of which can deliver up to 50 times better performance than Hopper-based chips in certain configurations.

Last month, RAF announced that Burroughs signed with the promotion and would debut at the RAF 12 event on Aug. 22 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Now, the promotion has confirmed that Burroughs will face off versus UFC Welterweight and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Sean Brady in a catchweight main event.
I'm not an odds maker, but I would expect something like -10,000 would be appropriate here? Barring a freak injury, it's hard to give Brady any chance here. He's a great grappler and has excellent MMA wrestling, but Burroughs is a different animal on the wrestling mat. There might be some concern that Burroughs is 37 years old, but he was wrestling at an elite level just two years ago.
Unless guillotines are suddenly allowed, Brady is in for a rough night.
Credit to the No. 5-ranked UFC Welterweight for taking on a massive challenge in his own RAF debut. Inside the Octagon, Brady has won four of his last five, most recently dominating Joaquin Buckley for the entirety of their UFC 328 collision (even after some funky sports betting movement).
