The Green Bay Packers held tryouts for nine different players on Monday, just two days before Matt LaFleur's team opens training camp with a practice on Wednesday. Of the nine players, four were running backs and three were tight ends -- suggesting the Packers are looking for extra bodies at the two injury-affected positions to start camp. The idea is reinforced by the fact that tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave landed on the PUP list and running back Chris Brooks was placed on the non-football injury list on Monday. This time of year, teams will churn the bottom of the roster to make sure they have enough numbers to successfully operate camp practices.
The following nine players were in Green Bay for a tryout on Monday:
TE Josh Beetham (Georgia Tech): Converted quarterback played 11 games over three seasons at Michigan before seeing action in 23 games at GT. Caught only nine passes over final two seasons. UDFA.
TE Drew Biber (Minnesota): Wisconsin native. Caught 18 passes for Minnesota in 2025 after playing first four seasons at Purdue. UDFA.
C Gus Hartwig (Purdue): Spent time with the New York Jets after signing as a UDFA in 2025. Made 48 college starts at center.

The team voted after winning Super Bowl 60 in February to make sure Bell got a Super Bowl ring. That was even though he played in the playoffs for another NFC team to end last season.
That's how Bell, a Carolina Panther to end last season, a former Division-II player at West Florida and two junior colleges who was out of football for all of 2017 working for his dad's construction company plus volunteering at his church back in Georgia, now has a Seahawks Super Bowl ring.
"They reached out to my agent and said I'll be getting a ring," Bell said this week.

FORT PIERCE — LaDaris Vann was still in the midst of moving down from Georgia when the 2025 high school football season and the fall practice schedule officially got underway.
With a year under his belt, the second-year Fort Pierce Westwood head coach is happy to be settled. But Vann understands there is much more work that needs to be done now that the 2026 season has arrived.
"It's just a day-to-day grind," Vann said. "I got a whole year and summer to get these kids in the weight room, but just one summer isn't good enough. We just have to continue the momentum, keep working and stay committed throughout the season."
The program as a whole will look to carry momentum from a strong close to the 2025 season.

The Seattle Seahawks are set to move on from one of their running backs.
ESPN's Brady Henderson reported on Monday that the Seahawks are planning to waive fourth-year back Kenny McIntosh, who is currently on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list after suffering a torn ACL last training camp.
The Seahawks confirmed Henderson's report shortly thereafter. McIntosh was not immediately replaced, so the Seahawks will enter Tuesday with an open roster spot.
It's an unfortunate situation for the national champion from Georgia, who injured his knee during 2023 training camp and barely played as a rookie. In 2024, McIntosh played in every game but predominantly on special teams. When he did get involved in the offense, rushed for 172 yards on 31 carries and caught three passes for 22 yards in limited playing time. He also was part of Seattle's kick return rotation.
With the Seahawks drafting Jadarian Price in the first round and signing Emanuel Wilson in free agency, it was always going to be difficult for McIntosh to make the roster this season. George Holani, who lost out to McIntosh for a roster spot in 2024, was able to secure a spot after McIntosh's injury and has the inside track to have an increased role in the offense. Factor in the eventual return of Zach Charbonnet from his own ACL tear, and there just wasn't much of a realistic path for McIntosh to make the 53-man roster.

At the time of writing this post, Athens is No. 6 in the best college sports towns in America. Athens is among 20 different college towns nominated including Chapel Hill (North Carolina), Eugene (Oregon), Austin (Texas) and more.
Uga is among the top nominated mascot. Other nominated mascots include Big Red (Western Kentucky) and Bevo (Texas), who is one of Uga's fiercest rivals after charging Uga at the Sugar Bowl. Uga is ranked No. 14 of 20 mascots.

Here's a terrifying thought for you: one day in the distant future college football fans may forget just how amazing Brock Bowers was during his Georgia Bulldogs career.
I know, it's difficult to imagine. Bowers played three seasons of college football and was named All-SEC and All-American in each of them. He won the Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end two years running. Over 50 catches every season, 2538 receiving yards, and 26 receiving touchdowns. Every honor and number is truly impressive.
But a picture is worth a thousand words. Just ask the South Carolina Gamecocks.
In 2022 Bowers could have beaten Shane Beamer's squad all by himself, scoring three touchdowns, one on the ground and two through the air, including a 78 yarder in which he made the Gamecock defense look like it was stuck in concrete.
Unfortunately for the Garnet and Black Bowers had teammates, on both sides of the ball. The Gamecocks ran only 34 plays on offense in a first half that saw them shut out while the Bulldogs cruised out to a 24-0 halftime lead. Somehow it got even worse in the second half, with Georgia veritably tap dancing to a three more touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 45-0 lead into the fourth quarter. The Dawgs would tack on one more field goal before the 'Cocks got on the board late to avoid a shutout, losing "only" 48-7.

TAMPA, Fla. — Since becoming Auburn football's head coach, Alex Golesh has described the program's circumstance on the recruiting trail as a matter of catching up.
He and his staff had mere days to cobble together Auburn's 2026 signing class, which ranked 31st nationally and 12th in the SEC, according to 247Sports' team rankings.
"We've had to make up a lot of ground in recruiting," Golesh said Tuesday, July 21, at SEC Media Days. "That was such a huge, huge point of emphasis from the moment I got there. I told our staff right away, we're a year behind."
With Golesh's first season at Auburn nearly a month away, the outlook for the 2027 recruiting cycle looks far more favorable. The program boasts a top-10 class nationally, and it's top-five in the conference, in front of several powers like Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.
A 25-prospect bunch, 15 of those commitments are rated as four-star prospects or better. It's a class that already looks readymade for signing day, but is Golesh putting a set number on how many signees he wants to have?

The 'Dawgs received 88 votes to be crowned SEC Champions on December 5 in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with Texas being picked to be the Bulldogs' opponent. The ''Horns picked up 57 votes to win the ******* le under the leadership of reputed genius Steve Sarkisian and golden child Arch Manning, who has one more year to win one of the three Heisman Trophies Longhorn fans ******* ured me he'd pick up before leaving Austin.
Before you get too excited, bear in mind that only 10 times since the league began playing a championship game in 1992 has the predicted preseason champion at SEC Media Days gone on to win the SEC Championship Game. But there's no doubt that a Bulldog team bringing back loads of talent and experience on both sides of the ball will be a contender once again.

Colorado enters the 2026 college football season with a cleaner plan at quarterback, with redshirt freshman Julian Lewis the projected starter and Utah transfer Isaac Wilson a competent backup to apply some pressure.
Lewis has a ton of potential, and with Brennan Marion now running the offense, the odds of him reaching that potential significantly increase. The Athletic recently named the Colorado quarterback to its list of ten rising quarterbacks who could make a jump this year.
To qualify for the list, all players could not be in the first three tiers of our ranking; Lewis was placed in the fifth tier (No. 49 overall) and was not on last year's list.
Lewis is joined on the list by several Big 12 quarterbacks, including Texas Tech's Will Hammond (No. 2), Arizona State's (No. 3) and West Virginia's Michael Hawkins (No. 9). Georgia Tech starting quarterback Alberto Mendoza, who the Buffs will see in Week 1, also made the list.

NC State stayed patient, stayed consistent and ultimately kept one of its top in-state defensive targets home.
Three-star cornerback AK Crumel has committed to Dave Doeren and the Wolfpack over Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.
The 6-foot-2, 165-pound defensive back from Clayton (N.C.) has been a priority in Raleigh for over two years. NC State offered Crumel during his freshman season after evaluating him at practice, and from that point forward, the Wolfpack never let up.
"They've been recruiting me since I was a freshman," Crumel told Rivals. "They're in my backyard. They're close to home, and I love them. There are a lot of reasons I chose NC State."
That consistency ultimately separated NC State from the rest of the field.

MARIETTA, Georgia, July 22 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump rallied supporters in Georgia on Wednesday to press for stricter nationwide voting requirements, leaning into his election-security message that some Republicans worry could hurt them in the state's competitive U.S. Senate race.
Trump's ‌speech in the Atlanta suburbs follows months of attacks on Georgia's election system, which he has criticized since his 2020 loss in the ‌state. So far this year, the president has questioned Georgia's voting system at least nine times during public events and interviews, according to a Reuters review.
In a June podcast, Trump falsely said the 2020 election in Georgia was rigged. Days later, during a telephone rally for a Republican gubernatorial candidate, Trump said: "Our elections are corrupt."
On Wednesday, Trump said some Republican victories in the state were "not going to be that easy with the cheating and everything else going on."

Jamichael Stillwell is a proven performer in the Big 12 Conference, and the former Central Florida forward committed to the Texas Tech men's basketball team on Friday, July 24.
It remains to be seen whether the 6-foot-8, 245-pound forward will ever play for the Red Raiders. He'll need a court injunction to do so. Stillwell is among 16 men's basketball players suing the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility in a complaint filed July 9 in Cobb County, Georgia, according to the Daytona News-Journal.
Stillwell has played four seasons of college basketball in four years. That lumps him in among the many players who are considered out of eligibility under the NCAA's newly approved age-based eligibility model, commonly known as the 5-for-5 rule. The NCAA has said it is not granting a fifth year under the new model to athletes who completed their fourth year of competition during the 2025-26 school year.

2028 four-star running Xander Edwards is in high demand with around 40 scholarship offers. One of them is from the Florida State Seminoles, which came back in October of last year.
Edwards visited FSU at the end of March, and the star runner had an amazing time while he was on campus. He has plans to take several visits during the season, and Florida State is a program that's on his itinerary.
"I'm going to Ohio State at Indiana. That's a for sure one. For sure going to Miami, Georgia, I'm going to try to get up to Florida State and Ohio State -- those are the definites," Edwards told 247Sports.
Edwards is coming off an incredible sophomore year. He rushed for 2,629 yards on 265 carries and scored 44 touchdowns, plus he gained 211 receiving yards on 17 receptions. He helped the Bolles School go 14-2 and finish as the Class 2A state runner-up. This earned him the All-News4JAX Offensive Player of the Year award, and he finished as the runner-up for Florida's Mr. Football award.
The Miami Hurricanes are the leader for Edwards right now. However, Florida State is positioned to make some noise in his recruitment if they continue to keep the lines of communication open and have a turnaround performance on the field.

The Carolina Panthers have just added another hog molly to their training camp.
As announced this afternoon, the team has claimed offensive tackle Ryan Hayes off waivers from the Tennessee **** ans.
The 6-foot-6, 303-pounder was a two-time second-team All-Big 10 selection at the University of Michigan in 2021 and 2022. He'd enter the pros as a seventh-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Hayes would go on to pick up additional stints with the Indianapolis Colts (2023), Dolphins (2023 to 2024), Atlanta Falcons (2025) and **** ans (2026). His lone regular-season appearance came in 2024, during his second stop for Miami.
Earlier this morning, the Panthers waived guard Joshua Gray and added offensive tackle Derrell Bailey—an undrafted rookie out of Georgia State University. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound Bailey was one of six players who worked out for the team on Thursday.

Like most college sports administrators, TCU athletic director Mike Buddie thinks there should be an enforceable salary cap for players in college sports.
But he doesn't think they should be the only ones.
"I think athletic directors should make a capped salary. I think coaches should make a capped salary," Buddie said during an interview with Front Office Sports. "And I think student-athletes should be in the room helping make these decisions."
In college football, coaching salaries—as well as coaching buyouts—have ballooned.
Currently, the highest-paid coaches are Indiana's Curt Cignetti, Georgia's Kirby Smart, and LSU's Lane Kiffin, whose annual salaries all exceed $13 million per year. Athletic directors don't make nearly as much, but—particularly in the power conferences—they can take home more than $1 million per year.

SEC Media Days have come and gone, and now we have the official preseason media predictions for the league.
The Georgia Bulldogs were once again picked to win the SEC, receiving 88 first-place votes. The next highest first-place vote receiver was, by a wide margin, the Texas Longhorns with 57 votes.
No other team received double-digit votes, though Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and even Kentucky received at least one first-place vote.
The league also released its preseason All-SEC teams, with Ole Miss quarterback and running back duo Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy leading the way on the First Team. Here are the full preseason SEC predictions from the media.

At SEC media days, plenty of teams got people up to speed on what's going on with their programs. Georgia Bulldogs head football coach Kirby Smart was in attendance as expected, and he gave an injury update on starting defensive lineman Gabe Harris.
“Gabe’s been doing good," Smart said. "He’s similar to Drew (Bobo). It was a very significant injury. Those two were the two biggest missing pieces for us towards the end of the year and made it really tough. But he’s out there doing everything now. He did not do anything in the spring. And we need him to have a big year. But, yeah, he’s on a load-management deal, so he’s not like out there every day doing everything. But he’s healthy."
Harris injured his toe last season in the SEC championship against Alabama, then he got turf toe surgery, which held him out of the Sugar Bowl against Mississippi. Harris missed Georgia's 2026 spring practice in late March and early April. Harris has been a key player for the Bulldogs' defense, racking up 26 tackles, 6 1/2 of which were for loss, and a sack in 2025. He's expected to be in a bigger role in 2026, especially after Auburn transfer Amaris Williams tore his ACL in spring practice.
If Harris can be healthy for Georgia's Sept. 5 season opener against Tennessee State, then that would be ideal.

The Washington Huskies are aiming at some of the nation's best defensive linemen in the 2028 class, and among their top priorities is four-star Kingston Brown.
The 6-foot-3, 265-pound product of Carver High School in Georgia, who took an unofficial visit to Seattle in March for Junior Day, is ranked as the No. 193 overall prospect and No. 22 defensive lineman by the 247Sports Composite, and has quickly become one of the nation's most coveted underclassman pass rushers.
Brown holds 25 offers, with Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M all among the programs in pursuit of his services, but after convincing him to take a cross-country trip to host him and extend an in-person offer, Jedd Fisch's coaching staff may have an early advantage in his recruitment.
During his sophomore year, Brown turned in 50 tackles, 21 for loss, with 3 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception, while showcasing the versatile skill set that defensive coordinator Ryan Walters covets along the interior of the defensive front.
On film, Brown is a disruptive presence who plays with great power and a strong motor while lining up at both defensive tackle and as a standup edge rusher. He also offers a high floor as a run defender, playing with the effort and explosiveness needed to succeed along the interior, where he's consistently able to shoot through gaps and make plays in the backfield.

For the past three seasons, no Southeastern Conference team has played in the College Football Playoff championship game. It is a sore subject in a league that had previously won four consecutive national ***** les from 2019 through 2022. This season, the SEC could again have a team playing for the championship, as several top teams have returning quarterbacks.
The SEC had eight quarterbacks in the top 19 of The Athletic’s recent rankings, including six who started for their teams last season in No. 1 Trinidad Chambliss (Ole Miss), No. 7 Arch Manning (Texas), No. 11 Gunner Stockton (Georgia), No. 13 Marcel Reed (Texas A&M), No. 16 John Mateer (Oklahoma) and No. 18 LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina). The other two highly-ranked SEC quarterbacks are transfers in No. 8 Sam Leavitt (LSU) and No. 19 Byrum Brown (Auburn).
Chambliss is coming off the best season of any SEC quarterback, as he led the Rebels to the CFP semifinals. Although Chambliss wasn’t supposed to start and came from Division II Ferris State, he took over the starting job in September and threw for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns and ran for 527 yards and eight touchdowns. In three CFP games, he completed 67.9% of his passes for 921 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
In February, a Mississippi judge ruled in Chambliss’s favor, granting him a preliminary injunction in a case against the NCAA and giving him another year of eligibility. After finishing eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting last year, he should contend for the award this year. He will be among the most hyped players this season, especially when Ole Miss on Sept. 19 hosts LSU, whose coach, Lane Kiffin, coached at Ole Miss for six seasons before leaving last November before the CFP began.

Mississippi has, to put it mildly, a complicated history when it comes to race relations. Even as times have changed and attitudes have modernized, a number of the all-time best athletes to compete in college sports did so at schools other than the state’s flagship campuses.
From our perspective, however, it has made the task of choosing the 10 greatest college players more fun. Six different schools are represented on this list, including some hall-of-fame gridiron talents from the state’s trio of HBCU’s. The Magnolia State’s two SEC schools are also represented, of course, and though football is a rather big deal there we’ve found some worthy candidates in other sports as well.
The Football Championship Subdivision player of the year award bears Payton’s name with good reason. Before becoming a household name with the Chicago Bears and the NFL's all-time leading rusher (now No. 2 on the list), ‘Sweetness’ was rewriting the record book with the Jackson State Tigers, where he scored a total of 464 points and rushed for 3,563 yards.

Georgia Bulldogs running back Dante Dowdell was hospitalized after he was in an ATV accident this offseason. Dowdell's recovery is expected to take a significant period of time after he suffered "some serious injuries" in the accident.
Dowdell had a promising spring and was expected to be one of Georgia's top running backs this fall. Dowdell started his college football career at Oregon, transferred to Nebraska and then transferred to Kentucky. Last season, he posted 560 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound running back was expected to take over Josh McCray's role at a minimum.
With Dowdell's status in doubt, let's take a look at the rest of Georgia's running back room. The Bulldogs return starting running back Nate Frazier along with Chauncey Bowens, who logged a few starts in 2025. OpenAI has raised its projected spending on computing infrastructure to around $750 billion through 2030, up from roughly $600 billion earlier this year, according to The Wall Street Journal. New deals with cloud-computing providers are driving the higher figure, as OpenAI continues its push to obtain the vast computing resources its AI models require.
On Wednesday, OpenAI said it would invest $20 billion to begin construction on a data center called Project Camellia in Effingham County, Georgia. Unlike its other facilities, where the company leases chip capacity from providers such as Oracle and Amazon Web Services, the Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub site marks OpenAI's first venture as the principal designer and builder of its own data center.
Sachin Katti, OpenAI's vice president of compute strategy, said the company has contracted with utility Georgia Power to receive 3.2 gigawatts of power between 2028 and 2032. OpenAI has already acquired the land for the project and is in the process of selecting a partner to build and operate the site, Katti said.
The company has also hired Brent Mayo, a key figure in building Elon Musk's xAI data center infrastructure, according to the Journal. After departing xAI earlier this year, Mayo had been instrumental in standing up that company's Colossus supercomputer campus in Memphis, where he managed the rapid procurement and commissioning of large-scale AI chip clusters. In the head of data-center build and delivery role, he will be responsible for keeping cloud partners on track with their construction timelines, while also contributing to the new Georgia facility. Mayo reports to Uday Ruddarraju, who was promoted this month to become OpenAI's chief technology officer of computing capacity.
The $750 billion projection represents the latest escalation in a spending trajectory that has drawn scrutiny inside the company. Chief Financial Officer Sarah Friar has privately raised concerns that OpenAI may not be able to honor future computing contracts if revenue growth does not keep pace with commitments. That came after Chief Executive Sam Altman stated publicly that OpenAI intended to spend $1.4 trillion on computing capacity, a figure that unsettled observers; Friar subsequently stepped in to correct the record, telling investors the actual projected outlay through 2030 was approximately $600 billion.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The Oklahoma City Thunder have experienced that firsthand over the last year. Thanks to a two-season run that has seen them put up historic numbers and win one NBA championship, other sports organizations are hoping to copy their blueprint.
One SEC football powerhouse wants to remain at the top of the college football mountain. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart recently said at 2026 SEC Media Day that he's studied up on the Thunder. He's turning over every stone to figure out ways to get fresh ideas on how the Bulldogs can remain in the national championship conversation.
"This season, like many others, we chose to study a successful brand or team or follow someone. This year, the reigning NBA champions at the time when we studied them was the OKC Thunder," Smart said. "They talked about being uncommon and how you can be uncommon in today's world."
Smart is the longest-tenured SEC football head coach. He's called the shots at George for a decade now. In that time, he's gone an impressive 117-21 (.848 win percentage) and won two national championships in 2021 and 2022. They're always smack-dab in the middle of the conversation for best team in the country.

Under Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes have rebuilt their roster each offseason through the transfer portal. It's the new way to build a roster in college football, placing greater emphasis on current production than on internal development.
That new philosophy has completely changed the average age of college football rosters, with most now slightly older since the transfer portal's implementation. Considering Colorado added 40-plus transfers this offseason, are the Buffs an old or young team?
Unsurprisingly, Colorado is on the older side with an average age of 20.63, according to data from RotoWire. The Buffs are tied for the 16th oldest roster in the FBS. CU is also the fifth-oldest team in the Power Four and the third-oldest in the Big 12. The two older Big 12 teams are Oklahoma State and UCF.
Considering Colorado frequently uses the transfer portal, an average age close to 21 (normally a college senior) is not surprising.
Georgia is the youngest team in the country (19.81 average age), which is not surprising given their propensity to land highly ranked freshman recruiting classes. The oldest team is UTSA (21.02 average age), as a team that prioritizes development and has many players who have been with the program for 3-4 years.

It may be hard to believe but the Atlanta Falcons are one day away from having their rookies report to Flowery Branch for training camp. It's been a long summer, and while there's still over a month before the regular season begins, the start of camp is a major milestone for NFL teams.
The Falcons have their hands full with a new head coach, quarterback competition and several undrafted free agents fighting for roster spots. It all starts next Wednesday, July 29. Don't worry, though, because we've rounded up the latest stories to help you through the home stretch.
In today's Falcons Wire Recap, Bleacher Report likes Cash Jones' roster chances, ESPN highlights three players to watch in training camp, CBS Sports ranks Atlanta's last seven first-round picks, and Bijan Robinson gets MVP hype from NFL.com.
Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport listed Jones as Atlanta's undrafted free agent with the best chance of making the roster in training camp.
"Cash Jones has a fantastic football name, but he wasn't a huge factor offensively over five seasons at Georgia—just 107 total touches," wrote Davenport. "To his credit, though, he made the most of the touches he did get—he's a capable receiver out of the backfield and averaged 4.9 yards per carry. Where Jones really stood out was on special teams, and his extensive experience on both kickoff and punt coverage could carve a path for him into the NFL."

TAMPA, Fla. — If the rest of the world could be as normal about Arch Manning as he is, there never would have been Heisman Trophy expectations at the beginning last season or a bandwagon exodus of insane proportions when he looked like a typical first-year starting quarterback for nearly half the season.
Manning didn't ask to be anointed as the biggest star in college football before proving anything on the field, but it defined everything about the reaction to Texas' 2025 season. From the crush of publicity in August, to the doom-and-gloom that followed early losses, to the idea that Texas was wronged by the College Football Playoff committee after finishing with a flourish, every narrative turn felt emotionally overwrought.
Now, as Texas enters another season with a loaded roster and a Manning-led offense, one of two things will happen: Either we will learn that the expectations came one year too early or we are about to make the same mistake twice.
"I think last season he found out a lot about himself," Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said Thursday at SEC media days. "Any time we're faced with adversity and we get on the other side of it, you gain confidence. I think you see a different leader in him. The work ethic hasn't changed, but I think the ability to lead vocally is much different than before and I think he's very comfortable with who he is."
With Manning returning for his second go-round as a starter, arguably the most dangerous (and expensive) wide receiver room in college football and a defense that All-American edge rusher Colin Simmons called "stacked," Texas will enter the season right there with Georgia as favorites to win the SEC and among the small group of teams that could contend for the national ******* le.

Sean McVay and the front office probably have a good idea of which players are locks to make the 53-man roster this year. With such a strong roster, many players are certain to make the team. But there are a handful of guys who are squarely on the bubble, needing a good showing in camp in order to stick around on the active roster.
Training camp practices will help decide who falls on the right side of the bubble and who gets cut, as will the preseason. These six players are right on the bubble heading into camp, which begins this weekend.
Ty Simpson obviously isn't in any danger of being cut if he can't secure the No. 2 spot behind Matthew Stafford, but Bennett's job isn't safe. In fact, if Simpson beats out Bennett, it's possible the Rams will release the former Georgia standout and only carry two quarterbacks.
Of course, that's dependent on Bennett's performance in camp and the preseason, but with such a talented roster, the Rams may not find room for three quarterbacks. If Bennett performs the way he did last summer, though, he'll be difficult to cut.
Dolac was a key special teamer last year after standing out in training camp and the preseason, securing his spot on the 53-man roster after just two exhibition games. Even though he made the team last year, there's no guarantee he'll be back on it this season – especially after the Rams signed Grant Stuard to be their special teams ace.

The Panthers are set to open the season without either of their starting offensive tackles from 2025, but General Manager Dan Morgan didn't seem worried about that during a Wednesday press conference.
Carolina signed Rasheed Walker as a free agent in March because they knew left tackle Ikem Ekwonu had a long rehab ahead of him after tearing his patellar tendon, but news this week that right tackle Taylor Moton is dealing with a blood clot in his lung came as a surprise. Moton is expected to be out into the regular season and that puts first-round pick Monroe Freeling on track to start on that side of the offensive line.
Freeling played left tackle at Georgia and he appeared set to play an apprentice role as a rookie, but Morgan said he feels comfortable with how things are currently taking shape up front.
"I think we’ll be covered there," Morgan said, via the team's website. "We feel good about it, and I know T-Mo will definitely support Monroe there at right tackle and teach him all he knows. So, yeah, we feel good about it. I think that's why depth matters so much in this league. And drafting Monroe and taking the best player available, it happened to be a tackle, it worked out really well for us. So we feel really good about him. We're confident in him, and I know he's going to attack it and he's going to be out there competing."
The Panthers also have a new center in Luke Fortner and the offensive line will have to gel over the coming weeks for the team to get off on the right foot come September.
