PepsiCo (PEP) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) anchor the conservative tier, with 54 and 64 consecutive dividend raises and a combined yield near 3.5%.
Dividend-growth compounding turns $465,000 into roughly $1 million in a decade, unlocking $3,350 monthly without the principal erosion of high-yield alternatives.
Are you ahead, or behind on retirement? SmartAsset's free tool can match you with a financial advisor in minutes to help you answer that today. Each advisor has been carefully vetted, and must act in your best interests. Don't waste another minute; learn more here.
At age 53, with $465,000 tucked away, the goal is to build a portfolio that can start cutting monthly checks a decade from now. The math is unforgiving, but that 10‑year runway to age 63 changes which levers actually move the needle. Starting yield is one piece of the equation. Dividend growth is the other, and over a full decade, growth tends to win out.
This piece walks through what $465,000 produces today at three different yield levels, then shows why a lower-yield, faster-growing portfolio can out-earn a higher static payout by age 63. All three names in the framing, PepsiCo (NASDAQ:PEP), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), and Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM), sit inside the conservative tier for a reason.

Michael Wright, known for his onscreen roles in "The Five Heartbeats" and "V," has died, according to a family statement shared on social media. He was 70.
The New York-born actor's wife, Susan Wright, confirmed his death in an Instagram post Friday, Aug. 21, writing, "It is with profound sadness and an unimaginable heaviness in my heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Michael Wright."
The family told TMZ in a statement that "The Principal" star died on Aug. 19 after suffering from "heart failure" as well as "complications of a rare degenerative neurological disease called Marchiafava-Bignami."
Throughout his career, Wright appeared in more than 50 film and television projects, most notably his movie roles as Clinton in 1979's "The Wanderers," main villain Victor Duncan in the action-crime flick "The Principal" and Carlyle in 1983's "Streamers," alongside David Alan Grier. Many TV fans will also recall his performance as Elias Taylor in the 1984 sci-fi miniseries "V" or as the poet-inmate Omar White in HBO's "Oz."
His most recognizable role is arguably in the 1991 musical film "The Five Heartbeats," where he plays the charismatic yet troubled vocalist Eddie King Jr., who grapples with alcohol and drug addiction that impact his career and place in the fictional Motown group.

Michael Wright, who starred in such films as The Five Heartbeats, The Principal and Sugar Hill, as well as the TV series V, has died.
Family members told TMZ in a statement that Wright died on Wednesday of heart failure and complications of Marchiafava-Bignami, which is a rare degenerative neurological disease. He was 70.
"Many knew and loved him through 'The Five Heartbeats,' 'The Wanderers,' 'V,' 'The Principal,' 'Streamers,' and the many other characters he brought to life throughout his remarkable career," the actor's wife, Susan Wright, wrote in a tribute on Instagram (via Variety). "His talent, presence, and contributions to film and television will live on, but to those of us who loved him personally, he was so much more than the roles the world knew him for."
Directed by Robert Townshend from a screenplay by Townshend and Keenan Ivory Wayans, 1991's The Five Heartbeats chronicled the fictional singing group of the same name. Wright plays Eddie King Jr., the talented but troubled lead singer of the group.

Our Get German Football News 2026/27 Bundesliga Tactical Previews series continues with a look at VfB Stuttgart. Oh, Stuttgart. You adorable little red-striped menace. There was a time, not particularly long ago, when the author could approach the VfB section of these previews with a reassuringly familiar collection of questions. Who left? Who needs replacing? How much of Sebastian Hoeneß' latest carefully constructed football machine has the transfer market carried away in several large sacks? Last summer, amid approximately 546,789 Nick Woltemade stories and enough aborted transfer sagas to shorten one's life expectancy, the author eventually concluded that Stuttgart possessed a talented upper-table side but were "plainly NOT ***** le contenders". They responded by finishing fourth and qualifying for the Champions League again. So much for that.
Perhaps one should simply accept what Stuttgart have become. Hoeneß took over a relegation candidate in 2023 and somehow turned the whole operation into one of German football's most reliably entertaining success stories. The Pokal arrived. European football kept arriving. Champions League qualification has now arrived twice. At some point, the cute little comeback story stopped being cute because it kept happening. Unfortunately for everyone else, the club itself remains rather adorable. It helps that Stuttgart possess Deniz Undav, German football's resident clown prince and a man apparently determined to turn every mixed-zone interview into open-mic night. Keep him forever. Always give him a microphone afterward.
In previous summers, Hoeneß' principal task was figuring out how to replace what success had taken away. This time, most of the good stuff is still sitting right there in front of him. The largest tactical problem currently confronting the coach may simply be explaining to several very good professional footballers why eleven remains the maximum number permitted on the pitch. How terribly sad for him.
The author shall now inspect Hoeneß' overflowing toy box and attempt to work out how all the pieces fit.
The pleasant novelty here is that the personnel section does not begin with an autopsy. Stuttgart have retained the spine, secured Undav, and then spent aggressively to make an already strong squad even deeper. That does not mean the summer has been simple. Nübel's departure creates a goalkeeper succession, Pejcinovic and Sauer immediately alter attacking hierarchies, Prömel places pressure on the captain, and late interest in Demirovic and El Khannouss threatens to complicate what otherwise looks like unusually tidy work. Before Hoeneß can begin solving his luxury problems on the pitch, it is worth establishing exactly how many of them the transfer market has created.

Just hours after Carlos Sainz shocked the paddock by signing a multi-year contract extension to remain at Atlassian Williams through 2027, team principal James Vowles is shedding light on exactly how he convinced his star driver to stay.
The 2026 season has been an undeniable struggle for the Grove-based outfit. Currently languishing in eighth place in the Constructors' Championship with just 11 points, the team's FW48 chassis was severely delayed and heavily overweight, exposing the outdated internal design processes Vowles inherited. Despite these massive setbacks—and a frankly bleak outlook for the rest of the year—both Sainz and his teammate Alex Albon have bought into the long-term vision.
Rather than sugarcoating the team's current predicament, Vowles is taking full accountability for the botched winter development cycle.
Following a highly disappointing British Grand Prix where a fast-tracked front wing upgrade failed to push Williams up the grid, Sainz openly expressed his worries about the team's correlation data. Addressing those frustrations, Vowles told the media (at the Dutch GP) that the upgrade did work, but it wasn't enough to mask the car's foundational flaws.
"The initial thought that we had post-Silverstone, because of our position relative to the grid, was we haven't added performance to the car," Vowles told the media. "Actually, we had; just unfortunately the rate of development of the field is incredibly high, and there were other issues in this year's car that are holding us back as a result of it".

When hundreds of millions of euros and multiple world championships are on the line, how do you actually close the most highly anticipated contract in Formula 1 history? According to a wild new report from the Dutch publication De Telegraaf, you fire up Microsoft Office.
While the astronomical financial figures of Max Verstappen's new Red Bull extension have dominated the paddock rumor mill, the behind-the-scenes mechanics of how the Milton Keynes squad convinced him to sign the August paperwork are just as fascinating. It required an executive-level corporate pitch, starring Red Bull Racing Team Principal Laurent Mekies.
According to the Dutch outlet, the roadmap to securing Verstappen's signature began with a detailed PowerPoint presentation delivered by Mekies.
As the man steering the Red Bull ship, Mekies knew that a blank check wouldn't be enough to secure a hyper-competitive, four-time World Champion. Verstappen doesn't just want to be the highest-paid driver on the grid; he wants a guarantee that he will be fighting for ****** les at the end of the decade. With rival teams aggressively circling to poach him for the future, Mekies took a deeply ****** ytical approach, bringing a slide deck to the negotiating table.
Because the sweeping 2026 engine regulations are already in full effect and the Red Bull Ford Powertrains project is successfully navigating its inaugural season, Mekies wasn't pitching an unknown vision for 2026. He was pitching sustained dominance for the next era.

Scuderia Ferrari Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton opened up about a challenging period in his junior racing career that threatened to derail his path to Formula 1. He also mentioned his current team principal, Fred Vasseur, who played a key role in his early racing days.
Ahead of this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, Hamilton recalled a particularly stressful period of his junior career when he competed in Formula 3 in 2005 for the McLaren-backed ASM Formule 3 team, which was headed by Vasseur. The seven-time world champion was eager to progress toward F1 and regularly contacted Martin Whitmarsh, then a senior McLaren figure, asking when he would get a chance to drive an F1 car.
That year was particularly difficult because Hamilton, who was 20 at the time, lost his McLaren contract while trying to move into the newly launched GP2 series. He described that as one of the most challenging periods of his life. However, he returned to F3, won his next races and ultimately regained McLaren's backing. Speaking about the episode, he said:
"I worked with Fred (Vasseur) in Formula 3, 2005 I think it was. It was an interesting period of time for me in my life. I was obviously, as every young kid, in a rush to get to Formula 1, hoping that I could potentially get there and never know when that chance would come.

On August 11, Vestis (NYSE:VSTS) reported fiscal third-quarter results that mark a turning point for a company that has spent its short public life trying to prove its uniform and workplace supply business can actually get more profitable, not just bigger. Adjusted EBITDA climbed to about $81 million, up roughly $15 million or 23% year over year, and for the first time since the company separated from Aramark, revenue per pound rose instead of fell. That single shift, small as it sounds, is the thread running through the entire quarter.
The headline number is revenue per pound, which reached $1.42 in the quarter, up $0.04 year over year and $0.05 sequentially. Management framed this as the first year-over-year increase in that metric since Vestis became a public company, driven by disciplined pricing, better customer segmentation, and a deliberate shift away from lower-margin linen volume, which fell 6% year over year on a pounds-processed basis. Vestis also let go of about 22 million pounds of volume that carried an average revenue per pound of just $0.55, meaning the business got smaller but higher quality at the same time.
Cost of services dropped about $15 million year over year, and SG&A fell roughly $7 million, or about 6%, while cost per pound held flat at $1.24 even as the company exited unprofitable business. Plant productivity rose 9% year over year, on-time delivery improved 80 basis points, and customer complaints fell 74 basis points, evidence that the operational cleanup is showing up in day-to-day service, not just the income statement. Net income swung to $11 million from a $0.7 million loss a year earlier, and the company raised its full-year free cash flow guidance to a range of $160 million to $170 million, up from $120 million to $150 million previously.
The improvement comes against a backdrop that still looks shaky in places. Total revenue for the quarter was about $662 million, down 1.8% year over year, and pounds processed fell 4.5% as Vestis kept shedding volume it didn't want. Net debt stood at $1.2 billion at quarter-end, with $1.1 billion of principal bank debt outstanding, and the company used quarterly cash flow to pay down just $30 million of term loan debt.
Management also acknowledged that the operational playbook it has been running is not producing uniform results, describing a meaningful gap between its strongest and weakest markets that it now plans to address with more customized, market-by-market execution rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Full-year revenue guidance remains flat to down 2%, and the company disclosed it is accruing a management incentive bonus for the first time at this level since going public, a cost that is already embedded in guidance but still subject to year-end certification. None of this derails the quarter's progress, but it is a reminder that Vestis is still mid-turnaround, not finished with it.

Former Formula 1 team principal Otmar Szafnauer believes Max Verstappen is continuing to improve and has still not reached his peak performance.
During an episode of the High Performance Racing podcast alongside host Jake Humphrey and former Ferrari race engineer Rob Smedley, Szafnauer discussed the standout drivers he has encountered during his career in the paddock.
When Humphrey prompted the panel to name the greatest drivers they had worked alongside and competed against, Szafnauer named four-time champion Sebastian Vettel as the best driver he had worked with before turning his attention to the fiercest rivals he had faced while on the pitwall.
"Greatest I worked with, Vettel. Greatest I went up against, tough either Michael [Schumacher] or Lewis [Hamilton]," Szafnauer explained.
When asked why he didn't consider four-time champion Verstappen, he added: "Well, I don't think Max is at his peak yet. I think he's going to get better."

In a recent video, it looks like she's taking community outreach to a new level.
McNair was spotted mingling with some fans when she showcased her love of Houston by breaking out the iconic Southside dance. The dance was created by the 1997 Houston hip-hop anthem "Southside," by Lil Keke.
Once she broke out the move and went viral, the internet and Texans fanbase lost its collective mind.

Valtteri Bottas admits the team principal change at Cadillac F1 was bigger change than the changes he expected, in first response.
Over the summer break, Cadillac F1 announced the arrival of Marcin Budkowski as its new team principal in place of Graeme Lowdon. The transition was on expected lines as per TWG Motorsports' Dan Towriss, but he agreed that it happened earlier than what was penned to happen.
He saw the right opportunity to bring in Budkowski, whose technical experience made the difference. There is a communication problem between the factory and trackside, which Towriss hopes can be filled by the experience of the Pole, who has been part of Alpine and also the FIA in the past.
For Cadillac F1 driver Bottas, the news came as a surprise. The Finn reckons it is a big change in the middle of the season, a change which he probably didn't see coming. But he respects the decision taken by Towriss and welcomes Budkowski, whom he doesn't know yet.
He also has praise for the work done by Lowdon, to built Cadillac F1 team from scratch. "I think a big change like this in the middle of the season is always initially surprising," said Bottas to media at Dutch GP.
"But then speaking with Dan, etc, explained to me all the reasons why this change and I respect that.

Former IndyCar Series driver and Formula 1 pundit James Hinchcliffe has questioned why Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff would consult Kimi Antonelli's father over F1 power unit penalties.
Antonelli currently leads the drivers' championship with 219 points, holding a 50-point lead over second-placed Lewis Hamilton following six race victories in the opening half of the season. Antonelli's team-mate George Russell sits a further nine points behind Hamilton in third.
However, looking ahead to the final 12 rounds of the year, Mercedes is preparing for tactical grid drops. Speaking ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix on the F1 Nation podcast, host Tom Clarkson mentioned the comments made by Wolff during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.
Wolff indicated that Mercedes will likely take engine penalties in the second half of the year and suggested taking them at the Italian Grand Prix, which is Antonelli's home race, could relieve pressure on the 19-year-old by placing him further back on the grid. But Wolff added that he would be discussing this with Antonelli's father, Marco.

Buoyed by Mercedes' strong results in the first half of the season, Toto Wolff is hoping the team can add Zandvoort to its list of successes at the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix, a circuit where the Brackley-based team has yet to win since its return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2021.
The W17 has undoubtedly been the strongest car on the grid so far this season, at times even proving dominant, with six victories from the opening 11 races. That tally could have been even higher without a number of reliability issues that have forced both drivers to retire from races.
Speaking ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, Wolff acknowledged that Mercedes still has work to do despite its strong first half of the season. The team has missed opportunities to maximise its points haul, while its rivals have managed to close the performance gap, increasing the pressure heading into the remaining 12 races.
"We have left points on the table, our rivals have reduced the performance gap, and we know the second half of the year will demand more from us than the first."
The Mercedes team principal believes the outcome of the championships will largely depend on how effectively the team executes each weekend and how much performance it can extract through development. Although Mercedes is currently on a slightly different upgrade schedule compared to its rivals, Wolff remains confident that there is further potential to unlock from the car and that the team has a clear plan for its upcoming developments.

Cadillac surprised everyone after ending terms with Graeme Lowdon after the first half of F1 2026, as Dan Towriss explains the reasoning behind it.
With the F1 circus getting back into race mode post the summer break, Cadillac kick-started the news cycle by announcing the departure of team principal Lowdon and replacing him with Marcin Budkowski. The news came as a surprise considering that it's been only half a season in American outfit's first full season.
Former Manor boss Lowdon returned to the F1 grid with Cadillac, as he joined the American outfit even before they were confirmed to make it as the 11th team on the grid. He did the big job of getting everyone together as one team – including the drivers – and start the journey in the winter test to the first half of 2026.
Although the results haven't come by for them thus far, with reliability issues popping up at most rounds, Lowdon did a fair job operationally at trackside. While there has been communication issues from factory to track, but it is part of a problem that any new F1 team would face in its first season.
TWG Motorsports' Dan Towriss acknowledged the work done by Lowdon in getting everything together, but noted that it was always the plan to find a F1 team principal in long-term, especially someone who is from technical background. The American said that there were conversations about a potential transition, just that the timing wasn't fixed.

Hardly anything went right for Manchester City yesterday as they were comfortably beaten 3-0 by ***** nal in the FA Community Shield. Goals from Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard saw Enzo Maresca's side well beaten at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Looking at the match and how it transpired, there is one area of the pitch that City must strengthen before the transfer window closes. That is the midfield. It looks like Manchester City are about to step up the process of fortifying their engine room. It is exactly what must be done to help give Enzo Maresca the midfielders he needs to fully implement his system.
Enzo Maresca started Elliot Anderson, Mateo Kovacic and Phil Foden in midfield yesterday against ***** nal. Anderson made his City debut, Mateo Kovacic played in a role that he isn't ideally suited to and Phil Foden started as the number ten. Manchester City weren't necessarily swamped in midfield by Mikel Arteta's side. What stood out was how disjointed Enzo Maresca's side were and how easy they were to play through in the opening half-hour of the game.
Elliot Anderson was by no means poor in his City debut. He did put himself about in the hour he was on the pitch. Anderson also needs time to grow into life as a Manchester City player. Mateo Kovacic and Phil Foden had moments but overall the necessary quality wasn't there in the engine room for Manchester City. The midfield trio that Maresca opted to start with played like a lineup that had never played together before, and they were. But there is a desperate need for City to add the quality they need to fortify their midfield.
Rodri won't be a part of the solution to Manchester City's midfield issue. Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday that he is on the verge of completing a move to Barcelona. Rodri's departure, alongside that of Tijjani Reijnders opens up ***** e in Manchester City's midfield. It must be filled with quality players. Now, City must shop from the top shelf to bolster their midfield. They have done this when they signed Elliot Anderson. Now they need more quality in midfield to add the options that Enzo Maresca needs.
Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca was asked about Manchester City's prospects of completing a move for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. Maresca reminded everyone that Bouaddi remains a Lille player, but he added that the sooner that City complete any new signings the better. He explained: "He's still a Lille player, but any new signings, any new players, for sure the sooner they arrive it's better because we're going to start the Premier League in one week. And if they start to work with us as soon as possible, it's better because they can also understand the way we want to play."

Manchester City fell to a 3-0 defeat to ******* nal today in the FA Community Shield at the Principality Stadium. Mikel Arteta's side was far too polished for Enzo Maresca's side and they thoroughly deserved their convincing victory. Coming out of the match, it is clear that it will take time for Enzo Maresca's side and system to come together. Patience is needed while Maresca puts his City side together which was clear to see throughout today's match against ******* nal.
Manchester City captain Ruben Dias spoke after his team's disappointing defeat at the hands of ******* nal. Dias acknowledged that City are beginning a new era, and that it may not be perfect at the beginning. He explained following Manchester City's defeat: "It's part of any transition for things to not be so perfect at the beginning. You need to push through, keep on working and communicate to make things work between us."
"I feel like we're in a very good way. We need to keep working. There will be a lot of challenges along the way. Stay positive, look forward. We have our first Premier League game very soon and we're looking forward to it."
The ******* sment of Ruben Dias is on the money. Manchester City are in the process of undergoing a significant overhaul. Enzo Maresca has replaced Pep Guardiola in the dugout. Bernardo Silva, John Stones and Nathan Ake have all left the club. Rodri is also set to move to Barcelona.
Those departures, coupled with Guardiola's have created a leadership void at City, one that will take time to be filled. Due to this, moments like today are likely to occur for Enzo Maresca's side. The hope is that they aren't as severe as today's defeat. But growing pains are to be expected to begin the Enzo Maresca era at Manchester City.

Arsenal look set to hand Bruno Guimaraes his first start when they face Manchester City in the Community Shield at the Principality Stadium. After stepping off the bench in the midweek win over Como, the Brazil midfielder is now in line to begin a game that will offer a proper early measure of Mikel Arteta's side.
There is no mystery here. ****** nal have had to manage the return of several players after their extended summer break following the World Cup. Guimaraes, Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli only returned to training at the start of the week, so caution has been the obvious approach. Even so, Arteta has made it clear they are ready to feature. "They will be available," Arteta said at his pre-match conference. "They trained with us today, they will train tomorrow. If they are in the condition we expect them to be, they will be involved."
Photo IMAGO
That points to Guimaraes getting the nod alongside Myles Lewis-Skelly, who has done the hard yards all summer and started every pre-season match. It is a sensible pairing, one offering control, legs and a bit of bite. ****** nal need that against Manchester City, because these games are usually decided by who gives the ball away less often.
At the back, ****** nal remain without Jurrien Timber and William Saliba. That leaves Ben White and Cristhian Mosquera as the likely options on the right side of defence, with Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori expected to complete the back line in front of David Raya.

A 7% blended yield from holdings like O (5.2%) and VZ (5.9%) turns an $880,000 rollover into the targeted $5,200 monthly paycheck.
Conservative dividend stocks fall far short of the mark, as generating $62,400 annually at a 3.5% blended yield requires over $1.78 million, more than double the available portfolio.
Aggressive 8 to 14 percent yield strategies risk principal erosion, and distributions are commonly cut in recessions, leaving investors spending down ******* ets rather than living off their growth.

A 64-year-old rolling $880,000 from a 401(k) into a self-directed IRA and targeting $5,200 a month in income is asking a specific question: can dividends and distributions replace $62,400 a year without handing the balance to an insurance company? The math says yes, but only if the portfolio hits roughly a 3.5% blended yield. That number sits above what conservative dividend stocks pay and below what the highest-risk income funds promise. The tiers below show what each level costs, and what it costs you.

To generate $7,200 a month in dividends, investors need roughly $2.16M at a 4% yield or as little as $864,000 at 10%, though higher yields risk principal erosion.
A 3.5% yield growing 8% annually doubles income in nine years, outperforming static high yields that steadily lose real purchasing power to inflation.
Blending SCHD and AMGN for growth with O for monthly cash flow targets a ~4% blended yield while preserving inflation-fighting compounding.

$7,200 a month in distributions works out to $86,400 a year. That is roughly what a comfortable retirement costs in most of the country once a paid-off house and Medicare are in the picture. The real question is how much capital you need to park, and what you have to accept in exchange, to produce it without ever selling a share.

Yang Ming Marine Transport's first-half 2026 results show a substantial recovery in earnings as tariff-driven front-loading, a stronger early peak season and higher freight rates lifted second-quarter performance.
The Taiwan company (2609.TW) nevertheless expects the balance of the year to be shaped by trade-policy uncertainty, geopolitical disruption and the continuing risk of excess vessel supply.
For the first half of 2026, the ninth-largest liner reported consolidated revenue of US$2.62 billion, while the second quarter outperformed both the first quarter and the year-earlier period. The carrier attributed the improvement principally to an early peak season, stronger cargo demand and firmer freight rates, with tariff uncertainty prompting cargo owners to advance shipments.
The result represents a marked improvement from the company's first-quarter baseline. In Q1, Yang Ming recorded revenue of $1.2 billion, after-tax profit of $44.7 million and earnings per share of $0.013. At that point, the company cited softer freight rates than a year earlier and vessel-deployment effects linked to Middle East geopolitics.
The first-half rebound also follows a more difficult 2025, when Yang Ming's full-year revenue fell to $5.07 billion, and after-tax profit declined to $530.3 million, or $0.15 per share. Still, 2025 marked its sixth consecutive profitable year, underlining the carrier's ability to remain profitable despite a less favorable rate environment and substantial network disruption.

The consortium, including Jeff Bezos, has reached a definitive agreement to buy a minority stake in Liverpool from majority owners Fenway Sports Group for more than £1.5bn.
1892 Holdings, led by former QPR director Amit Bhatia and including Amazon owner Bezos and Eduardo Saverin, one of the founders of Facebook, will have a share of between 30 per cent and one-third in the Premier League club.
FSG will retain operational control and run day-to-day operations, with no change to the leadership to the club. John W Henry remains principal owner, Tom Werner chairman and Mike Gordon president while the club's strategy and broader principles remain the same.

While Bezos is one of the world's richest men, with a wealth of roughly $270bn, there will not be a change to Liverpool's transfer budget or policy, with no new funds for manager Andoni Iraola as he looks to bolster his squad. The club are also bound by financial sustainability rules while transfer decisions remain up to the club's sporting side, led by director of football Richard Hughes.

Cadillac F1 has named a new team principal as it prepares for the second half of the GM brand's inaugural Formula One season.
Marcin Budkowski, a 49-year-old Polish-French engineer, will take the helm as Cadillac has struggled to gain consistency from the back of the field. Determined to be competitive in its first year, Cadillac F1 CEO Dan Towriss said the leadership change was a planned transition from building a team to putting points on the board. Future challenges include developing the team's 2027 car and preparing for hybrid powertrain changes that could include a V-8.
Cadillac F1 is the only team yet to score a point at the midseason break. The world's fastest and most popular motorsport returns Aug. 23 at Circuit Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix.
"We're at this inflection point with the summer break," said Towriss in a call with media Wednesday. "Cadillac has gone through this initial build phase . . . and now as we look at the development phase, there's a real opportunity here to build something new. We're delighted to welcome Martin to Cadillac Formula One (and) excited about what he brings to the table. This is the perfect time to make (a leadership) change as we go into the second half of our inaugural season (and) as we start to think about building the 2027 car."
Budkowski replaces Graham Lowden, who did yeoman's work to get the F1 field's 11th team to grid in just 10 months after Cadillac received approval to race in 2025.
