Quinn Fordham Gray Sr. doesn't view his time breaking records as Florida A&M football's quarterback as the glory days.
Instead, he dishes on his experiences as a student-athlete at The Highest of Seven Hills in building a successful program, much like the way the Rattlers won two Black College Football National Championships during Gray's college football career from 1997 to 2001.
As head coach, Gray's team is living in an on-campus residence hall during preseason training camp.
"We went old school with the way we approached camp," said Gray, who's entering his first season at the helm.
"We put everybody out of their apartments, we brought everybody to the dorms ― to Sampson Hall, where we stayed during camp when I was in school here."

Franco Baresi was always known for his reserved nature, speaking only when he had something meaningful to say. This week, it is fair to say that I have been slightly obsessed with Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey. Without wanting to spoil anything (not that you can really spoil the plot of a story that originates from the 8th or 7th century BC), it focuses on the protagonist, Odysseus – one of the more cunning and intelligent Greek heroes who sailed to Troy to take part in the Trojan War, and the figure we would attribute the Trojan Horse to.
Nolan's adaptation focuses on Odysseus' hubris – where a figure believes they are above the rules, normal limits or consequences of their actions – and the subsequent aftermath. In Odysseus' case, he is faced with a dilemma. Is it worth sacrificing your moral core in order to be granted some supposed concept of glory?
The reason why I'm blabbing on about this is because of some of the, frankly, bizarre coverage I've seen regarding the Visitors and their current dilemma.
I don't want to retell it all at the risk of turning into some sort of Geordie Josh figure. However, the general gist is as follows: (Beh)Eddie Howe was restricted by unfair financial rules, designed by the "Top Six" mafia to protect their vested interests. Newcastle, a massive club, were never given a fair chance to succeed. As a result, the manager has had to resign because he couldn't possibly face the concept of developing young players with high potential in the Premier League. Their best players, like Claire Balding CBE and Sandro Tonali, have had no other option but to leave, being forced to go to undesirable places like Barcelona or London for more money.
Much like The Odyssey, it's all designed to pull at the heartstrings.

Opinion rankings are just that: opinion, but there are trends with these things, and when it comes to stadium rankings of college football programs, Ohio Stadium (affectionately known as the Horseshoe), where Ohio State plays, is generally ranked pretty highly. The architecture, the updates, the history, and how loud it gets on the banks of the Olentangy all play into the atmosphere and the perception of a stadium.
The latest of these stadium rankings comes from our mothership, USA TODAY, and a panel of four writers that ranked the top 25 college football stadiums. Some leaned into the visual appeal, some into how hard it is to play, and some into tradition, but in the end, ten staff members came up with a comprehensive 25-stadium list, and Ohio Stadium is very high on the list as you'll see below.
We go through the stadiums with the top ten first, from ten down to No. 1, then the rest of the top 25. This list will differ based on who makes it and from what part of the country it is penciled in from, but this is a more national one starting with No. 10.

Pakistan-India javelin rivalry returns to the global stage on Friday as reigning champion Arshad Nadeem looks to defend his Commonwealth Games **** le against a stacked field led by Sri Lanka's rising javelin phenom and world lead Rumesh Pathirage.
Pathirage leads the charge after an 82.84-metre (271-foot) throw in the qualifying round on Thursday, followed by 2022 silver medallist Anderson Peters of Grenada with an 81.29-metre (267ft) throw on his second attempt, and South Africa's Douw Smit with 80.84 metres (265ft).
Friday's final will be an epic showdown between veterans who have topped the podium in previous iterations and up-and-coming hopefuls looking for global glory after becoming national champions. Five of the top seven finishers at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will be competing in the final.
It seems to be a changing of the guard on the South Asian front after Pathirage dominated this season with back-to-back wins. His monstrous 92.62-metre (304ft) throw at the Rome Diamond League in May would be enough to smash the Commonwealth Games record of 90.18m set by Nadeem in 2022.

Quarterback Rocco Becht is intent on setting things right in 2026. Becht's transfer to Penn State after a rough 2025 season, along with several of his teammates, gives him a unique opportunity to start anew. Along with pass catchers Chase Sowell, Brett Eskildsen, and Benjamin Brahmer, Becht is looking to elevate the production of the offense. However, during Big Ten media day, Becht highlighted the role that a returner could play in the offense.
"That guy is really special," Becht said of sophomore wideout Koby Howard. "He did a lot of good things in spring ball and he's probably going to do a lot of great things in fall camp [and] in the season for us. So, hopefully I can get him over 1,000 yards receiving, but something I'm looking forward to is just playing with him." While that is a lofty goal to set for a receiver you have never worked with, it is one that should intrigue Penn State fans.
Howard is the youngest member of Penn State's new-look receiving corps and is also the only player who got meaningful snaps at the position. Still, being a true freshman meant that he didn't receive many targets either. He only caught seven passes for 133 yards. This year, with Becht now at the helm, Howard will almost certainly see more snaps.
Whether or not he breaks 1,000 yards remains to be seen. After all, Penn State receivers have not covered themselves in glory in that regard over the past several years. Still, both Becht and Howard have apparently built a nice rapport with each other during fall camp, with Howard serving as a potential touchstone to Becht during his transition to life in Happy Valley. Ryan and I are back, a little later than usual this week, due to a myriad of scheduling issues. But rest **** ured it's still the same high quality content you've been looking for. We should note: The East is far deeper than the West for the first time in forever, though the West boasts the league's two ******* le favorites, the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs.
The defending champion New York Knicks and LeBron's Sixers, among other teams in the East, may have something to say about it in the end, but the depth and youth of the talent in OKC and San Antonio is impossible to ignore. Those two rosters are in a stratosphere all to themselves.
It would be surprising if any of the top six teams here failed to earn a guaranteed playoff spot. The Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves form another tier of contenders. Beyond them, it's a ******* shoot, as every team features quality players and only the Sacramento Kings are in real danger of dropping into the draft's relegation zone.

Real Madrid summer signing Marc Cucurella has on Tuesday unveiled a new tattoo, of none other than Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente.
This marks a promise kept on the part of the defender from earlier this summer.
Cucurella is of course fresh off playing a starring role, en route to his native Spain beating out the competition to clinch glory at the 2026 World Cup.
Whilst the competition was in full flow, the former Chelsea man was asked by the media if he had any plans to commemorate the achievement, in the case of La Roja going all the way in North America.
And Cucurella went on to turn heads upon revealing his intention to have a fresh tattoo inked, of his manager on the international stage.

Rodri enhanced his reputation with his performances for Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He led Spain to World Cup glory and his performances during the latter stages of the tournament reminded everyone that the Manchester City midfield mainstay remains one of the premier midfielders in European football. Following the World Cup, Rodri's stock couldn't be higher. However, he was scheduled to have back surgery after the competition. Manchester City have confirmed that Rodri has now undergone back surgery. Also, due to his performances at the World Cup, there are doubts over Rodri's future at City as Real Madrid circle.
In an announcement on mancity.com, it has been confirmed that Rodri has undergone minor back surgery. As per Manchester City's statement, Rodri has been feeling discomfort in his back for some time. The surgery that Rodri has undertaken will alleviate the issue and the Ballon d'Or-winning midfielder will now enter a short period of rehabilitation ahead of joining up with Enzo Maresca's squad for the latter stages of Manchester City's preseason.
Having undergone back surgery, Rodri should be ready to go for the 2026-27 season. Manchester City will need their midfield general ready to go based on how integral he is to their chances next season. However, there is an elephant in the room. A major one. It now remains to be seen if Real Madrid will begin negotiations with Manchester City to sign Rodri.
Rodri has undergone back surgery on a minor issue. It is hoped that he will be ready for the 2026-27 season following that procedure. It now remains to be seen where Rodri will play next season. That is the biggest question mark surrounding Manchester City's midfield general.

Chelsea beat Western Sydney Wanderers 6-4 at Accor Stadium in Sydney in their first official pre-season game.
The Blues took the lead through Dastan Satpaev, who looked impressive, but the Australian side battled back into the game.
More Chelsea goals from Jamie Gittens, Dario Essugo, and a hat-trick from Joao Pedro ensured the West London outfit secured the victory.
The Chelsea attacking unit and the midfielders were impressive, although Tosin Adarabioyo and Josh Acheampong did not cover themselves in glory at the back.

Every start of preseason we make it clear that these games are nothing more than fitness preparation for the squad. However when you give playing time for several young players like we did today, you have to keep your eyes peeled for what may come next.
One of those young'uns, Dastan Satpayev, had some eyes set on him and showed why that was the case. A good run from Ryan Kavuma-McQueen's pass to break the offside trap from the hosts at Accor Stadium in Sydney and the Kazakh international scored not even 10 minutes into the match.
While offensively the Blues were very promising, the combination of Tosin Adarabioyo and 18-year-old centre-back Olutayo Subuloye in defence didn't make it for solid defending. In spite of Teddy Sharman-Lowe's best efforts to organise his teammates in a corner kick, he couldn't do much to avoid giving Western Sydney Wanderers the tying goal.
It didn't help that midfielders Reggie Watson and Dário Essugo weren't in the kind of rhythm needed to control action in their sector. The hosts were thus able to attack at whim with little to no counterpart offered by Chelsea, who had instead to keep defending against a barrage of shots from the Wanderers.
Unsurprisingly the hosts got in front via Aydan Hammond, with defence once again not covering themselves in glory. What was surprising, was Chelseaying at 2-2 with Dário Essugo ***** isted by Reggie Walsh on a Satpayev play and pass from the left flank.

Zinedine Zidane was appointed France coach on Tuesday, as widely expected, following the departure of Didier Deschamps, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced.
Zidane, 54, had long been viewed as the leading candidate for the role and had been waiting for an opportunity to take charge of the national team for several years.
He will replace Deschamps, whose tenure began in 2012 and ended earlier this month after France finished fourth at the World Cup.
Deschamps guided France to 2018 World Cup glory and the final four years later.
"For me, it's an immense joy... being able to become the coach of this French team. I don't have any other words," said Zidane, who takes over on a four-year deal that runs until the 2030 World Cup co-hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

On Thursday night, during a fan event at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, the Rams unveiled two alternate ensembles that commemorate their 1951 NFL championship team and their storied defensive front of the 1960s and '70s.

VICE Studios on Thursday announced a new seven-episode season of the show with a premiere set for Sept. 1 at 9 p.m. ET on VICE TV. The season premiere episode features UFC Hall of Famer Don Frye, "whose willingness to absorb brutality in the cage led to the fight of his life against pain and addiction."
Of particular interest to many, most likely, later in the season will be an episode featuring longtime fighter Phil Baroni, who remains in prison in Mexico on a charge of murder. A teaser video for the season shows a clip of a phone interview with Baroni and him saying his lawyers won't be happy he did the interview.
"From house-fire heroism to SWAT stand-offs to full-blown arena riots, season two of Dark Side of the Cage pulls back the curtain on MMA's most extreme highs and devastating lows," the official show pitch says. "'Dark Side of the Cage' cuts through the glamour and glory of the MMA spectacle to reveal the never-before-told stories behind the sport's most iconic competitors, told by the fighters themselves."
