Days after being found guilty in the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn, American Idol alum Caleb Flynn was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
"In my almost 8 months of being here, this is my first opportunity I've had to speak. There's so many things I would want to say, I would want to explain but I understand there's not enough time today, this week, or the months that follow to say it all," Caleb, 40, said through tears before the judge announced her sentencing on Monday, October 5.
He went on to address his daughters, Alyssa and Ava — whom he shared with Ashley — saying, "I don't know if they'll ever be able to hear this, but I want to say it regardless. I love you two. With absolutely everything inside of me."
"I want to be there for your most important moments, and for that I'm sorry. There is so much I wish I could be there for, and so my heart breaks knowing I can't. But please know I love you both and miss you more than you will ever know," he added. "You are amazing and perfect in every way. Continue being the most amazing kind, beautiful and sweet girls you are. I could speak for hours and hours but never forget, I love you."

He was also found guilty of eight additional charges, including aggravated murder and tampering with evidence.
Letters from his two daughters were read in court during the sentencing hearing on Monday, pleading with him to finally admit his guilt and questioning why he killed their mother.

Caleb Flynn, a former "American Idol" contestant and pastor who was convicted last week of murdering his wife, a crime he tried to blame on an intruder breaking into their home, was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole Monday in Ohio.
Flynn did not take the stand in his defense during the trial, but he proclaimed his innocence before he was sentenced.
"I have unfortunately lied about a lot of things over the last couple of years, but as I stand here before God, who is my ultimate judge, I am not lying when I say I did not kill my wife," Flynn said. "I will continue to fight for my innocence as long as the lord allows me to, as I did not kill my wife."
Flynn was found guilty of nine charges in total, including aggravated murder and three charges of murder, two charges of felonious **** ault and three charges of tampering with evidence.
Prosecutors said Flynn shot his wife, 37-year-old Ashley Flynn, twice in the back of the head while she was asleep in bed on Feb. 16. They alleged he then staged their Tipp City, Ohio, home to mimic a break-in and called 911 to claim an intruder was responsible for the murder.

Morgan Stanley met privately with Gilead Sciences (GILD) leadership at its 2026 Global Healthcare Conference this month, and the feedback strengthened the bank's positive view on the stock.
Morgan Stanley's biopharma team hosted a meeting and a management dinner with Gilead Chairman and CEO Daniel O'Day and Chief Commercial and Corporate Affairs Officer Johanna Mercier. According to a Morgan Stanley research note shared with me, the discussion reinforced its Overweight rating on Gilead and singled out one franchise as the biggest reason to stay positive.
Gilead trades around $150.89, up about 24% year to date and roughly 111% over five years. That kind of run in a biotech stock usually needs a catalyst, and Morgan Stanley points to HIV prevention. The bigger question for investors now is whether the new HIV prevention business built around Yeztugo can keep growing at the pace of the last few quarters.
Terence Flynn, a Morgan Stanley equity **** yst who covers Gilead and other healthcare stocks has held an Overweight rating on the stock since January 2025.
According to the note, Gilead management described the company as being at "an important inflection point, supported by what it views as the most robust portfolio in the company's history," with no patent expiring until 2036.

About 13 years ago, “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn gushed about his wife Ashley, who he said encouraged him to audition for the 12th season of ABC’s singing competition.
“I love my wife more than anything,” he said in an interview during his brief stint on the show. “She’s very, very pretty, just – woof, I love her.”
Now, Flynn stands trial for her murder, as investigators allege the former music pastor fatally shot his wife of almost 16 years and staged the crime scene to make it appear she was killed by an intruder.
Flynn, 40, was arrested in February, days after he frantically called 911 to report someone broke into their Tipp City, Ohio, home and killed his wife – a beloved middle school volleyball coach – while he was in their daughters’ bedroom.
“We’re looking forward to trying the case,” his defense attorney, Patrick Mulligan, told CNN Tuesday. “We’ve been waiting for this.”

A TikTok posted by phlynnmartin recounts a date from back in August 2024 at Melbourne frozen yogurt chain Yo Chi that the creator, who goes by Phlin or Flynn, said ended with an unexpectedly large bill. The video, captioned "honestly couldn't believe it," had drawn 277,600 likes and 11,000 comments as of publication.
Phlin's date started well, with no awkward tension in the car on the way over, and he called it "loving it," saying the chemistry was there. At Yo Chi, he grabbed what he called the normal-size cup, explaining, "That's all you need. Anything else? Outrageous."
The middle cup, he said, would suggest someone was "really hungry," while the largest cup was simply "a gluttonous amount of frozen yogurt." His date grabbed the larger cup, which immediately made him worry about the bill, and he told viewers, "That could be an issue because realistically I'm probably gonna have to pay for this."
He rationed his own toppings carefully, adding items like strawberries and boba "one at a time," describing it as "the little shimmy" scoop, while his date added toppings more freely, scooping crumble, M&Ms, and an Oreo without hesitation. He said the final bill came to approximately $330, a figure he paid after being asked if the two were together.
He described his date as wolfing down her yogurt while he ate slowly and, in his words, began "dissociating" as other diners started to notice.

"It was a great win," Dover head coach Whitney Carrier said. "We have spent a lot of time in preseason putting ourselves in difficult situations so we can learn how to deal with the stress and pressure of struggling through something, and that paid off tonight. Emily Flynn's highlight strike in the third minute put the Rams on their way to an opening victory over the visiting Huskies at Cimini Stadium in Providence on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Flynn found the top right corner from all of 25 yards and La Salle was razor-sharp from there while playing for the first time this season as defending state champions. Mila Falcone tucked one under the crossbar in the 13th minute and Allie Scott headed home a rebound off a Falcone shot in the 35th as the Rams took complete command before the break.
Scott added her second shortly after halftime to continue what was a strong performance along the left wing for La Salle (1-0-0). Grace Keenan made a sliding left-handed save on Mt. Hope striker Sara Nencka in the 70th minute to preserve the shutout. The Huskies (0-2-0) played without All-Stater and Boston College commit Emma Goglia, who was nursing a minor injury.
Both teams scored in first half on a rain soaked evening at Augeri Field in Westerly, with the Purple's Lucy Weber striking in the first two minutes, and the Bulldogs finding the equalizer at the 30-minute mark.

On August 13, Ondas (NASDAQ:ONDS) held its second-quarter earnings call, and the numbers explain why the stock has been getting attention. Revenue hit $83.8 million, more than thirteen times what the company generated in the same quarter a year earlier. Management didn't stop at reporting the number. It raised full-year guidance, pointed to a backlog that has grown elevenfold since the start of 2026, and said it now expects to exit the year at a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate. For a company built by stitching together drone and counter-drone technology companies, this was the quarter meant to prove the strategy actually works.
The headline number was revenue of $83.8 million, up 67% sequentially, but the more telling figure is that organic growth, stripping out the effect of acquisitions, ran at approximately 85% year over year. Ondas raised its full-year 2026 revenue target to a range of $525 million to $550 million and guided third-quarter revenue to $140 million to $155 million, which implies roughly 73% sequential growth at the midpoint. If that ramp holds through the fourth quarter, the company expects to finish 2026 at a $1 billion annualized run rate, putting it years ahead of the $1.5 billion target it had set for 2030.
Backlog and demand back up the guidance. Pro forma backlog stood at $757 million on June 30, up 66% sequentially from $457 million at the end of the first quarter, while the two-year strategic pipeline has swelled past $11 billion, more than 2.5 times what it stood in May. New orders kept arriving on top of that: $175 million booked during the quarter itself and roughly $105 million more already captured so far in the third quarter.
The growth isn't just acquisition math, either. Sentrycs, the counter-drone unit, posted pro forma revenue growth of about 298% year over year, 4M's demining and land intelligence business grew 258%, and Airobotics rose 112%. Rotron, added through acquisition, booked $34.2 million of orders in a single quarter against the $25 million of full-year 2026 revenue Ondas had underwritten when it bought the company. The balance sheet backs the ambition: cash and short-term investments reached $1.4 billion, up from $616 million at the end of 2025, leaving room to spend $325 million in the third quarter alone on the DZYNE and Cyberhawk acquisitions. Contract wins add further weight, including $240 million of orders under a $982 million U.S. Army unmanned strike contract awarded to Mistral, a $140 million combat engineering vehicle program for INDO Earth, and a new one-way attack system deal with Israel's Ministry of Defense. The company also added former Mossad Director David Barnea and retired four-star General Charlie Flynn to its leadership and advisory ranks.

The Wendy's Company (WEN) investors have a potentially significant catalyst on the horizon as activist investor Nelson Peltz's Trian Fund Management reportedly prepares a bid to take the fast-food chain private. According to reports, Trian is working with potential partners including BlueFive Capital and Wendy's franchisee Flynn Group, with a formal offer potentially coming within weeks.
The speculation has already jolted WEN stock, which jumped 14.7% on Aug. 12 after the reports emerged. The potential deal comes as Wendy's struggles with declining customer traffic, weaker U.S. sales and rising operating pressures, while its new management team works on a turnaround strategy. Trian, Wendy's largest shareholder, owning about 16% of Wendy's, has previously argued that the company is undervalued and began exploring strategic options earlier this year.

KYIV, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Ukraine has sent Russia an offer suggesting they both halt attacks on civilian targets in the Black Sea, a source said, after mounting strikes on vessels and ports there raised fears over global food supplies.
The offer to suspend attacks was transmitted by Kyiv via a third party, and Ukraine was still waiting for a response, the source who is familiar with the matter told Reuters.
Both Russia and Ukraine, major players in the world agriculture market, have accused each other of intensified attacks on vessels used for exports.

Making a docuseries about the inner workings of pro wrestling isn't quite like making a docuseries about traditional sports.
In our traditional definition of sports, no one is 100% certain of the outcome. Yes, there are favorites and underdogs, but there is also an element of unpredictability. Since pro wrestling is scripted entertainment, the participants in the ring know what's going to happen. Kayfabe rules.
Season 3 of WWE: Unreal is already available on Netflix, just six months after the previous installment. While the outcomes might be predetermined, there is still a lot you can't plan for and have to adjust to.
"We kind of have glimpses into slivers of time of what the plan could be, of what's penciled in, and then life happens a lot," showrunner Erik Powers said. "Within this series, we cover what happened with Seth Rollins when he had a match down in Australia, and doing a coast-to-coast flying headbutt, he sustained a major shoulder injury that ended up knocking him out of commission. They had to rip up their story and pull the trigger on a breakup of his faction with Bron Breakker that they didn't have in the near view as a plan."
WWE: Unreal is made in conjunction with Omaha Productions and NFL Films. Senior producer Michael Flynn and his crew have become adept at highlighting the real-life aspects of this performance. Any documentary starts with an idea but may need to pivot quickly as the story unfolds and the people deal with change.

Heading into the 2026 season, Los Angeles Rams legend Norm Van Brocklin's single-game passing record has stood for almost 75 years. With all the changes made to benefit the passing game over the years, it's truly astonishing that Van Brocklin's mark of 554 yards has stood for this long. That said, which quarterback is most likely to break it this season?
Having a 500-yard passing game is a crowning achievement for single callers. Including the playoffs, there have only been 27 such games in NFL history, with Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady and Drew Brees the only QBs to have thrown for over 500 yards multiple times. Kirk Cousins is the most recent to have done so, throwing for 509 yards in a 2024 win over the Buccaneers.
Without further ado, let's take a look at the top candidates to topple Van Brocklin's record in 2026.
Let's start with the option closest to home. Stafford once threw for 520 yards as a member of the Lions in the 2011 regular season finale against the Packers at Lambeau Field. Unfortunately, it came in a losing effort, as the quarterback on the opposite sideline, Matt Flynn, threw for 480 yards and six touchdowns in a 45-41 Green Bay win.
Stafford seems like an easy choice given that he's already a member of the 500 Club and has one of the league's most explosive offenses at his disposal. However, he's thrown for at least 450 yards with the Rams once, which came against the Seahawks late last season.

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. – Shinnecock Hills is widely considered one of golf’s cathedrals.
For Matt Robles, it’s his dojang.
When Robles wasn’t cutting his teeth at the local muni in Downey, California, a blue-collar city in south Los Angeles, just miles from Compton, he was sharpening his mind at the taekwondo training hall. One of the five tenants of the Korean martial art is to respect one’s instructor; if not, physical punishment is warranted, usually in the form of duck walks or frog jumps.
This week, Robles’ grandmaster is William Flynn, whose beautiful-yet-punishing design will host this week’s 126th U.S. Open. Robles, a 20-year-old rising junior at Santa Clara, is one of 62 open qualifiers, 34 first-timers and a record-tying 20 amateurs in the 156-man field, each competitor hoping to not just solve this intricate test but survive the exposed, undulating layout that will surely be pummeled by up-to-40-mph gusts over the next few days.
Robles will hit the first shot of major career at 2:42 p.m. ET Thursday, part of the last threesome off the 10th tee that won’t finish until at least dusk.

KYIV, June 7 (Reuters) - An opera by a Ukrainian composer that premiered in Kyiv this week tells the story of two mothers and a grandmother who risked their lives to travel 3,000 miles (4,800 km) to occupied Crimea to rescue children abducted by Russian forces.
"Mothers of Kherson", co-commissioned by New York's Metropolitan Opera, is based on the true stories of women who left the city in southern Ukraine after it was liberated in November 2022 to bring their children home.
They skirted around the 750-mile front line via Poland, Belarus and Russia to reach the camp in Crimea where their children were being held.
Ukraine says it has confirmed the abduction by Russia of around 20,000 children during the four-year-old war. In March, a U.N. commission concluded the deportation and enforced disappearance of Ukrainian children by Russia was a crime against humanity.
